Worked through this with a bit of checking, a quick find once at the GZ.A day about Townsville with sacada, with challenges and earthcaches as our primary targets. ALs and other caches are great too, and a very busy day right up till the sun set, ended with clever gadget cache in the hills. We started the day with the tidal flats, a long beach walk out to the waterline well off shore. We have walked the mangroves earlier in the year. Pleasing to see, for the most part, that it was easy going and mudfree. Mostly. When we hit mud, it was thick, shoe sucking ooze! It's a fascinating area to walk through and ignoring the spiders and mozzies, a great area in the trees and around the salt pans. The afternoon saw our shoes slowly returning to normal with some Beach caches and walks along the cliffs. Old war bunkers and island views, and a refreshing coastal breeze after another hot day. Thanks for your cache!

Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Decided to spend another day in the area caching Townsville targeting ECs and challenges. This started with a walk out onto the tidal Plains which was awesome.Soon it was getting through the mangroves swamps. Lots of deep mud, mozzies, spiders, heat, dust and salt Plains. A crazy mix.Finished with a trail along the headlands and beach rock scrambles.Another exhausting day completed by an amazing field puzzle cache in the dark on the side of a mountain.Nice puzzle. A couple of errors had me driving and looking through someone's garden. A quick recheck to other waypoint for a quick find.

TFTC. TFBMH.

I visited this one today after the recent DNF. It took me a while to spot it and even longer to pry it out of the spot it was in. With some wire and magnets I eventually got the job done and replaced it in a more accessible spot.
Happy hunting.

Out and about but failed to unearth this one. We could see no signs of the nano in its hiding space at GZ, both of us had a detailed search but no smilie today!

25-Aug-23
Great little history lesson. Locating the cache was one thing but getting it out of its hiding space was a whole other story. Can provide alternative proof of visit as required. Tftc

I don’t know what would look more suspicious, me looking at gz in the day or at night. I did it at night after a meal at the pub and felt so dodgy. I nearly gave up searching at gz until I re-read the cache size. Arregggh it’s one of those little sneaky ones. Found it tftc.

01-Jul-22
We were able to park the car and read the information that was needed for this one. Having stayed in Bohle Plains on our last trip to Townsville, we had no idea that this area was still part of the general Bohle Plains area.
At GZ the lawn had just been mowed and the council workers were moving on, so we made a quick find here in a very likely place.
Thanks Geocaching Townsville

Arived at posted coords, luckily the market was finishing up, so we were left alone to grab the info, did the converstions and double checked with the checker, all good to go, now off to find it. A short walk and cache in hand. Log signed and returned, now for that hard earned lunch and maybe a cool refreshment.

Thanks GeocachingTownsville for the caches.

In Townsville with my daughter for the Mega. We are staying with and enjoying caching adventures with Earthbound Chief, beckNmonts and ahomburg.

Multis are not my favourite but some are enjoyable when there are interesting topics/areas to learn about. After collecting the required information, the cache was found.

Thank you for the cache here burgo78 and GeoTSV

Found in the company of Earthbound Chief OSHFAM & ahomburg. Multi’s are one of my favourite cache types, so thank you! Thanks for the multi GeocachingTownsville. We signed the log as “The Whole Gang”

Nothing a little sneaky cache first thing in the morning, had to paf as we did after a nice meal at the tavern and couldn't get the right answer. Head slap, thanks to mates and tftc. Dropping a fav point as we like multi with one waypoint

Today we found Bohle Plains History Lessons on our travels. We are out and about with BeckNMonts ahomburg and OSHFAM….signing solved puzzles. This little multi was calling to us as we were in the area

Thanks GeocachingTownsville for being part of our geocaching fun.

Yesterday collected what was needed for the multi, coming up with a reasonable set of coordinates. Decided to wait until the morning to collect when most muggles are pushing out the ZZZs.

Parked at the eastern end and took a short stroll through the circulus to GZ and quickly had the cache in hand. Thanks to Geo TSV and burgo78 for keeping this multi active.

It’s Mega time once again!! Woo hoo!! Love these epic road trips and a wonderful Mega event. Managed to cache with loads of different people throughout the long weekend - such a fun way to cache! Have signed as SCG, X, Snag, Capital crunchers, NRC, Nibletricecakes, Minifigas, Minifig or some combination of the above! Thanks to everyone in the region for the top quality caching. Appreciate your efforts planting and maintaining these caches.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 8. Townsville Mega section Day 8. Mega Day 1. Easter has arrived and the town is quiet. There was a plan to try the Breaking bad walk today, but that fell apart due to some planning issues and a possibility the park was closed. What's more, it was hot. Instead Smitten Granny, Gliss!, Nibletricecakes and I toured around town doing Labs and interesting caches we had solved or had peaked our interest during planning. The evening was the welcome to Mega event alongside some amazing gadget caches, followed by some impromptu night caching with Cosmonaut97.

After the welcome event , I joined Cosmonaut, Nibletricecakes and Gliss! for a few night caches. Whist over this side of town we did a couple more caches.

Thanks for the cache GeocachingTownsville

Day 1 in Townsville for the Mega. Always interested to learn history of the areas that we’re visiting. After accessing the information and working out a good set of numbers we wandered over to GZ for a quick find. As others have said, there is not a single space left in the logbook log. Thanks GeocachingTownsville

We’re out and about touring Townsville today. It’s been many, many years since either of us visited and there has been so many changes. Thanks for bringing us to this part of town.
We managed to squeeze our name on the log but it is definitely time for a new one.

Thanks for find #3392

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.

I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.

While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.

All in all it was a great week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.

Thanks GeocachingTownsville for the cache.

Great and interesting information! Logbook is full! TFTC

I was over this way looking for a bed, yes a bed, lol. no luck there so I thought I would try for a cache. I had this one solved on my last trip up here but never collected; today I was hoping to rectify that. I found the cache easy enough though getting it out of its hide was a little tricky. I had to go back to the car and grab a large screw driver to pry it out. Then I find the log is very full, I squeezed my name on there, replaced all and left. Thanks for the multi and the hide.

15-Jan-22
Solved it and found i! Nice, quick and easy solve and find! Log appears to be full but signed in space 22 as it was the only space that appeared free. TFTC

After some unsuccessful searches for other caches in this general area due to cleaning/maintenance by the city council here fortunately an instant success. The info we’re quickly gathered and the cache at GZ found where it should be. Thanks

I checked on this one after the DNF.
Happy to report it's still in play.
Happy hunting.

Headed to deadcentre of bushland beach but no luck finding

07-Jul-21
Another day caching around the Townsville area. We went to get some shells and fish-n-chips so we could honour a friend that recently passed away. We also found a few caches on a round-about way back to our camp site.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache pretty close to where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

[apologies for late log - catching up on a bunch of saved finds since moving to town a few months ago]
Came out to Bushland Beach to view a rental, and then spent a bit of time enjoying the beach. I stopped to read this sign and then later realised there was a cache 'attached' so returned to take in the finer details, afterwards making my way to GZ where a cache was located without issue. Thanks for the hide and highlighting the history of the area burgo78 & Geo TSV

Nice and easy.

I was meant to do locked up letterbox this arvo but arriving at the parking area - I didn’t realised that I didn’t have what I needed to reach the letterbox. I packed it in my wrong car
I was going to say stuff it and do a traditional but I remembered I am brave and can do multis now. Log signed - GC because I am that buggered that writing greencordial is an effort surprised that you didn’t get a log that just states TFTC

Being close due to the recent challenge cache and needing so more multi finds we headed over. An interesting bit of history and we soon had some numbers and made the short distance over to GZ to soon spot the nano. We completed the signing duties and we hid. TFTC.

I Bohled up to the beach today to try and find this cache Razz
Busy as at the start coords !! [:o]
Markets in full swing on a Sunday morning Big Grin

I resisted the temptations of a massage to relieve me carpal tunnel syndrome,
or whiplash soreness, and any other imagined ailment I might be suffering.
Sadly the massage could promise no relief from cache blindness Wink

I found the info I needed,
and kneaded the numbers into a coordinate.
Over at the calculated place,
the cache was an easy find in the obvious place Big Grin

Found with LJB54. After completing the nearby multi decided to chance this one as well. Arrived at GZ and with all the info at hand got a green light from the checker. Was happy to see that the cache was not too far away as another walk up the beach might of been too much today with the heat.

Stopped for a cool drink nearby and avoiding as much of the muggle traffic as possible had the container in hand. A quick sign of the log and returned to its hiding place and we were back into the car to continue the trip.

Thanks again for the efforts burgo78

We enjoyed a day wandering along Bushland Beach, grateful for the cooling breeze and searching for a few caches along the way.

Can’t believe how busy this park is even on a Monday morning. Many dog walkers, picnickers, mothers with toddlers and workers using the area for their smoko

Fortunately we were able to tackle this one by writing down the answers from GZ and the cache is in a much easier site to access undetected

We had hoped to try for the other multi nearby but decided we would look too suspicious searching so close to lots of folks so had to give that one a miss.

Thanks for a nice multi burgo78

14-Jul-18
Thanks for the quick history lesson. My parents moved here about 25 years ago and we are amazed each time we visit how much the area continues to grow.

16-May-18
Working for the season in the area picking up some caches along the way..found and signed log, tucked it back where it belonged...noce quick one..TFTC

12-May-18
This was a multi that readily gave forth the info needed to work out the new co-ords. With that sorted out it was off to find the container. Knowing what sort it was meant there were not too many places to check, but we still did not find it on the first pass. Thought we had better check again and then spotted the well hidden container.
Did the duties and replaced as found.
Thank you to burgo78 for this nice little multi.

Seeing as I need 200 multis for a challenge I'm working on, I couldn't go past solving this one as well. Made short work of the information and then a quick wander to retrieve the log book.

04-Aug-17
We were staying in Townsville for a couple of days and with no hope of finding all the caches here we decided to target multi's for the Pirate souvenir game as well as a few puzzles we have solved and the wherigo's as we really enjoy them.

We got up early this morning to try our luck at the nearby earth cache and of course then move on to this one. We quite enjoy these multi's as they teach you a little bit about the area and are also not too hard to work out without ridiculous extended math's equations for no reason. Once we collected the information we headed off to gz which at this time of the morning was quite quiet so we had no trouble retrieving the cache and adding our name to the log.

Many thanks burgo78 for the cache.

16-Jul-17
We found the information easily enough and after a quick read had a set of coordinates that the checker agreed with.
Once at the GZ the cache was quickly found. Could be a busy spot at various times of the day I imagine.
Thanks for this multi Burgo.

Out on a day caching. TFTC

26-Dec-16
Having completed the BBHT series, I thought I would wander down to take a look at the beach.

Unlike a lot of cachers, I enjoy multi's and this simple one seemed like a nice way to spend some time on a hot morning. Clues collected and coordinates were calculated, btu the checker said no. Pays to read the cache description carefully, as I missed a mathematical operation there somewhere.

With correct coordinates and the hint in hand, I was soon at GZ. This pesky nano is certainly well hidden. I thought I had look everywhere at GZ twice! but after checking out other options, I returned to the obvious spot and with a "mummy" look I soon had it.

All in good order. Many thanks, burgo78

14-Aug-16
On my way home from Paluma dam. Frullet Jr and I stopped by to make a multi cache find for this weekend's souvenir. Thanks again Burgo78 for the hide and the history lesson.

14-Aug-16
Out to grab the Mission GC souvenir that's up for grabs this weekend. Arrived yesterday and quickly worked out the coordinates to the final location. The geo-checker gave me the green light, so walked the short distance to the final location. Arrived at the GZ to find a group of teenage girls sitting close to the GZ. Very unusual place to set up camp, but that's teenagers for you. They seemed set up for the long haul, so headed home empty handed.

Came back today for a second go. The coordinates had pointed to an obvious location for a micro hide. Searched all around but came up empty handed. Checked nearby places with no luck either.

So this cache hide was far too good for me today and as a result, I earned an Sad for this cache. I'll endeavor to be back to turn it into a Smile soon. Thanks **burgo78** for the challenging hide.

14-Aug-16
Third time lucky with this cache. On my second attempt, I suffered from a bad case of cache blindness, but with confirmation from both burgo78 and frullet that the cache was still there, I made a third visit to the GZ after dinner. This time it was a quick grab and sign before heading home. Mission complete and souvenir to boot.

Log signed. Cache container and log in great condition.

Finding this cache has now given me a total find count of 1536.

Thanks for the cache hide **burgo78**. Smile

30-Jun-16
Interesting lesson in the history of the area, we made a mistake and it took longer to come up with what we thought were the final coordinates, we didn't get a green light from the checker, but it can be a bit temperamental in the field on a phone, and we are stubborn so Geo-dad went and checked what we thought were the most likely coordinates and surprisingly came up with a nano fitting the clue. I will run our successful co-ords through the checker on the desktop at home tomorrow and see what it says. We had a nice takeaway lunch near here as well. Takes our total caches to 665 with the morning in Townsville tomorrow. Thanks burgo78.

30-Jun-16
Last for the day before we head back to our camp spot for the night. Think we were a bit optimistic thinking we could attempt all the caches in the area in one day. We will probably be back tomorrow to cross a few more off the list hopefully.
Got the information and made our calculations but we couldn't get the okay from the geochecker. Tried one other possibility and didn't have any success with that either so went back to the board and checked the information. Pretty sure we were right the first time but tried again and still no luck so decided to check out the GZ we worked out and there was the cache!!!
Thanks for the history lesson and the smiley.

I've corrected a mistake on the Geo-Checker so you should get the green light now with a correct answer. Apologies for the error.

Day 5 Townsville
Todays trip was out to Bushland Beach area to look for the many caches out on the trails.
We had a couple of DNFs plus a few others we didn't attempt
In all a great day, such a variety of caches we found.
We sat & had lunch at this location. Then collected the information needed to find the nearby cache.
Thanks for placing this cache burgo78

12-May-16
Had a couple of hours before my flight home so I drove back up to Bushland Beach to see which new caches I could find. Parked at the end of the road and this came up as the nearest. Most people are put off by multis but they often give you a lot more than a simple box under a bush could and I enjoyed reading the history and getting the answers - very simple - it's all there in front of you. Didn't need to use the checker I thought and went for a walk finding the cache fairly quickly. Would have preferred a larger container but it's all good. Signed and replaced as 2TF.

Thanks!

Had my boss visiting town for the first time in a long time as the email came dinner booked too. Did not look god but the caching gods were on my side when he wanted an early close to the day. Dropped him of at Palmer St. , picked up the boys from home and set course due north.
A quick calculation and we moved to GZ.
Coordinates where perfect and so was the clean log
Thanks burgo78 for the cache
