Logs
We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to DaNgoman for the generation of this nice cache Skippy the Bush Buffalo (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. After our lovely breakkie in the roadhouse we visited Skippy and after some searching we had the right view to grab the little one. Tftc!
Muggle Central.Didn't spot anything which could be it.Would not have been able to retrieve, if I did.
Unfortunately didnt have much time to look but had a look for about 10 minute. Very busy day for the petrol station. Maybe next time!
DNF. Lot of local people .... After 4 weeks in Auastralia I finally saw the kangaroo !!!!
Tftc, second time coming through , thought I'd open the app, nice and easy find
While staying at the Billabong ducked into town and saw Skippy watching all the vehicles passing by so called in and had a chat then signed log and left. Thanks DaNgoman for the cache.
On our travels we stopped to grab this cache, it was muggle central here this morning but we waited and when the coast was clear found the cache and signed the log, thanks for placing it
I was a little concerned after the recent DNF here but reading previous logs gave me a clue as to where to find this cutie.
Thanks for find #4762

Day 80 of our greynomad trip up north from Vic, after a the JLWEvents in Wudinna SA, a tour of Maralinga and caching to claim LGAs in the Eyre Peninsula, through to Alice Springs, Uluru, Darwin, Kakadu and Litchfield we continue our journey back south. It is also day 79 of a streak, so we are keeping it rolling.
Heading east now and while geohubby waited in servo queue, I found the cache

Tftc! muggles everywhere - even fights for line up for fuel - made myself scarce.
Wow...a very busy servo atm....plenty of muggles....sneaky find while no one looking, signed and returned....onwards we travel.....TFTC
Apologies for the late log here (25.12.23) but I've had a mad time since getting back to the UK.Here for a refuel while heading east, as the sun was setting. You don't see a lot of these around, although I did see a lot of giant 'things' beside the roads of Australia. A fast find once I abandoned the item itself. Yay. Onwards!TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.
Quick find and sign while we filled up ready to continue our journey eastward. Read some of the previous logs, thankfully skippy was high and dry today, didn’t fancy a swim.
A sneaky hide, not obvious at first. Very busy here today, cars and vans lined up down the highway for fuel. Nice potato scallops at the servo though!

Found on our trip from Mount Isa to Tennat Creek. Thanks for hiding this one and as always TFTC, MumDad2000
Stopped on our way back from NT! Had to get help from GeoHusband to open it! Nice and dry since the guy from the servo said the water was up too skippy’s ears 6 weeks ago! TFTC

Together with my favorite geocacher Milonguera we traveled to Australia We went to Melbourne via Singapore and from there we explore the south, the center and the east coast.
We walked around Melbourne and had a nice meet & greet event. Than we visited Philip Island with the pinguins and the Great Ocean Road. We fed and petted kangaroos visited the koalas and continued north via Coober Pedy to Alice Springs. We hiked around the impressive Uluru and through the beautiful Kata Tjuta and breathtaking Kings Canyon. The gorges of the Macdonell-Ranges are nice to. Than we traveled north.
Weiter gings Richtung Norden.
**Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for showing the location and for hiding the cache. You should come to Berlin in Germany to find a lot of interesting geocaches, visit lost places in the surrounding Brandenburg and meet nice people at many events.
I wish you a lot of fun and great adventures while searching for the next geocache!**
Ich bedanke mich bei DaNgoman für den Cache, das Zeigen dieses Ortes, das Legen und Pflegen der Dose und den Spaß beim Finden! Thanks for the cache!

Bit of a late log, but found and signed on 12/10/22 with _hitam on our drive down from Darwin.
The cat stood on the door and locked us out of the car for over an hour... predictably she wound the windows down just as RACQ pulled up to assist.
Good find, TFTC.

Skippy not so bouncy can't say same for ph today. Those prickles were pretty attached too. Found with my thanks.
Found with Spoony63. Out early to grab this before we head off. Turned out to be a dangerous cache! Dropped the paper while putting it back and Spoony63 stuck her finger into a prickle. Log replaced we headed back to the still running car to find that our furry traveing companion had locked the car with the keys in it! I guess Camooweal is a nice place to spend a few hours......
No maintenance required. A full log provided.

We travelled 8,500km through 5 states for a 60th birthday party over approx. 6 weeks. We endured many days over 35C and then saw a lot of water in the eastern states. We enjoyed travelling east with family and then they travelled back to Alice and we made our way home to SA, trying to dodge the rain and wet weather.
Caching is a great way to see the many wonderful sights and learn about the places we are travelling through.
Thank you to those who take the time to hide caches

Found with nice, accurate coordinates. We have one of these containers also, so we found it relatively easy to find. Thanks for putting this one out and giving us an opportunity to stretch our legs.
Quick find while filling up with fuel, very busy with travellers going both ways. Staying for a few days at the waterhole. Lots of bird life. Thanks for the cache.
Obvious found while passing through town on our way back to Western Australia
Aquilus1 & I are on a mission to visit every LGA in Australia and on this short & sweet 5 day mission we went from Cairns to the Northern Territory and back again. 3400km's, 1 flat tyre, 600-700 kangaroo's seen, 1 hit, and all the other fauna & flora.
What a nuts adventure!
Day 1: Arrive in Cairns at before noon, grab the car and immediately off to Guyala for the first LGA of the day. During the day we saw massive trees, and old virtual and some earthcaches.....and at least 200km of dirt road without seeing anything at all except for one car. Limped into Hughenden from The Lynd about 9:15pm. Had to spend 15 minutes killing mozzies in the room before I was willing to go to bed.
Day 2: Leave Hughenden after admiring the windmill & the dinosaur for a day of largely earthcaches.....and long dirt roads that were marked '4WD only'. Our mightly little pretend SUV ate them for breakfast. Had a mad scramble for accommodation at the end of the day in Cloncurry.....eventually getting a cabin at the 'Road Runner'..... which clearly has a poor reputation based on the looks we got when mentioning it. Local event was great and met TeamPops for the first time.
Day 3: Left The Curry on the way to The Isa.....detoured south a bit before returning and doing some cool gadget caches by drrnrchr...some real talent there! Then off to the NT of course, as you do! From there it was a slog to Burketown...."up the dirt" which was a very poor road. Got the flat right near the end of the worst stretch so then limped in at 50-60km/h for the next 3 hours. I have never seen so many roo's in all my life and I live in Canberra which has a serious roo problem.....it was crazy. We arrived just near closing of the pub & takeaway and the town was in party mode....then 15 minutes later was completely silent.
Day 4: At sparrows got the car to the awesome guys at Nowland to fix the puncture. This was the day for visiting the aboriginal LGA's, we checked in for our 30 minute Mornington Island flights at the Shire Council, first time I have ever done that! Doomadgee was visited as well, the road there being excellent with an exciting river crossing for fun......and we discovered it was actually Mabo Day so we were very lucky to visit on that day, the towns were fascinating, the Rosie's chicken at the Doomadgee roadhouse delicious. Heading east along the Savannah way, we saw a croc & a canberra cacher....of all the things!
Day 5: Another long day from Croydon to Mareeba, with my first Queensland FTF as well on an amazing earthcache at Einasleigh....more swful roads but thankfully these were the very last! As always an interesting hunt for accommodation, but it all worked out.
Day 6: This was a relaxed day just cleaning up the few surrounding Cairns LGA's and cruising into the airport...where they tried to charge me $500 for having a puncture that was now repaired...jeez guys, c'mon! Sorted out quickly but I was set to 'ramming speed' for a few moments.

After a quick visit to the NT we returned here for this cache, to fuel up and set of up to the gulf. Signed GH and AQ in the very last spot. Really needs a new log and travelling with a few caching supplies, a nano log I did not have sorry.
With GreyHams we set out on an epic 5 day caching trip from Cairns, to the Northern Territory and back again. 3400km via Burketown with the occasional detour off into different directions as was needed! Looong straight roads, many on dirt or rock and rough but luckily only the 1 flat tyre. Camels, a crocodile, wildlife in abundance of numbers and types and a crazy number of kangaroos after dark it was a little scary! Such a great trip through all the LGA's and we saw so much!
Day 1: We arrived in Cairns after midday to pick up the car with several hours of driving ahead of us to get to Hughenden. With road reports having just changed to open after recent rains it was a little unknown what was ahead of us. 'Drive to conditions and 4WD'... down the Lind in the dark and not a car to be seen for hours... we found out why! Some old caches, virtuals and earth caches to stop at, it was a good start into a few areas otherwise easy to drive by and miss their little discoveries.
Day 2: With reports of snow falling back home in Canberra we woke to a pleasant sunny day of blue sky and warmth. Hughendens windmills and dinosaur visited and then off into the unknown of more dirt roads of 'drive to conditions and 4WD' and a fascinating day of Earthcaches through the region. Cloncurry was our stop overnight and despite its many accommodation options it was a long search before the 'have you tried the road runner?' It proved better than expectations and as usual things just worked out. The Leichharde for dinner was a good snitty hotel, an event at the central was great to meet some local cachers and proved to be the steak place as we saw!
Day 3: The most epic of all days of the trip in the distance and events. Leaving The Curry it was up to The Isa, some local caching, local cachers and then south for a bit before returning through The Isa and off to the Northern Territory. Camooweal to Burke 'up the dirt' rough, rocky, lots of creek crossing, AKA 'dips' and a bit of water in places. A flat trye slowed things dramatically, after the crazy number of little kangaroos and 3 hours to travel 160km we limped into a thriving Burketown relieved to have made it with only 1 roo casualty. The hotel was a busy and friendly place, dinner at the closing TA and then the hotel closed and silence...
Day 4: Started off at the great guys at Nowlands who had the tyre repaired quickly. Checked in for our flight to Mornington and then off to the Burketown bore and wetlands while we wait, cool spot! Doomadgee missed the day before, we squeezed it in today which was worth the drive, the roos of the night made way for so many wedgies on the road and stopped overnight in Croydon at a great Queenslander hotel with the best meals and the best sauces to go with them. Yummy, caching fuel!
Day 5: Croydon to Mareeba, with a FTF opportunity at Einasleigh Gorge, great geology and a lovely discovery, lunch at the hotel and then off down some more dirt roads, creeks, water and corrugations, the road crews keep busy out these ways and we were pleased to meet some along the way! A little scramble for accommodation but Mareeba pushed us a little further and was well placed.
Day 6: A casual morning collecting a few local LGA's around the Cairns area before returning the tough and mighty little hire car and the flights down south to winter... aargh! Sunny Queensland, you will be missed!
Such a great trip, long days, long roads, landscapes and wildlife of such variety and abundance. Great caches, people and memories. Thanks for your cache that guided us through this area!

We camped last night at Camooweal mainly to do the earth cache at the caves rive by and leave any other caches around.
This was the first one for the day and we had a little bit of a grin as we have never seen "Skippy" the bush buffalo before, they must be nocturnal. which is probably a good thing. We didn't get off to a flying start this morning, we went over and over gz without finding anything and then as we were thinking about calling it a dnf we spotted it as plain as the nose on you face and we happily added our name to the log.
We had no idea how we missed it for so long, hopefully the day gets better.
Thanks DaNgoman for the cache.

Camooweal had a cache so we had to stop here and find it. Skippy tends to look a bit different to normal but the cache proved to be quite normal. No problem with this one. TFTC.
Heading further west with ilook4geo and stopped here for a short break. This was a distincive looking animal standing guard over this cache. It was found quickly and the log soon had two more names on it. Thanks for this cache go to DaNgoman for this cache placement.
Today I made it from Threeways to Camooweal, and I made my only find here. TFTC
A fun cache find today.
Good to see that Skippy hasn't been too weighed down by her antlers,
and is continuing to dodge the roadtrains with aplomb
"Where's the cache at Skip ??"
"Tut, tut, tut ... tut, tut, tut, tut."
"Thanks Skip !!"
OO- ROO !!

Left Cunnamulla after QOGM 2021 heading to Sth Australia, stopped in Mount Isa for a little spell and to catch up with new friends drrnrchr and attack all the caches here. Then WA then back to Cairns June 2022. 14 October 2021 1:33 pm Tyfc DaNgoman total caches now 2793 took us 3 years to turn a frown into a smiley but got ya easy as pie today.
My husband and i are on a 8000km road trip from Brisbane to Uluru and last night we stayed the night in Mt Isa and today we are on our way to Tennant Creek. What a great spot for a cache. We got a coffee and waited for muggles to leave and read a few logs so when it was time to look we had a good idea of where to look and bingo there it was. THank you for all the fun
Second time looking for this one, no luck yesterday. The phone co-ords were spot on both days but I was obviously having a proper look today. Cache is in good order and the log has plenty of spots left in it. T4TC
Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache DaNgoman!
After a great 4 weeks visiting the North Western areas of Qld and the Gulf and a few gorges as well this is where my holiday went pear shaped.
With talk of more border closures and NSW being out of bounds I had to make the decision to end the rest of my holiday and hightail to the NT border to make it into there so I could at least have a chance of making it home.
Stayed the night in Camooweal, had my border pass ready then fuelled up the Geocruiser, took about 10 mins to locate this one then I was off to hopefully cross.
They breed a very different type of Kangaroo up in these parts and I hope to never come across another one like him.
Thanks DaNgoman TFTC.

Arriving in Queensland I’ve discovered the kangaroos are slightly different here. TFTC
TFTC. A nice quick find on a warm day. The flies are hanging around today. I had a shower this morning. LOL. I’ve walked into town from where we are camping along the river with the water lilies and brolgas. I’m visiting from the Newcastle area in NSW
