We returned fully dressed to climb and search hard. This one is for sure missing and was most likely lost in the floods and fires a couple of years ago. Nothing from the owner so it is time for this one to go
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
Find me if you can #5 might be missing ?? I could not find it and lots of photos show the land has been effected by floods and fires since the last find. Can the owner please check??

Took a walk down the fire trail today, keen to tick off some higher T caches.
Enjoyed the scramble up to GZ and matched our search area to photos in the gallery. I’m confident we were at the correct spot but couldn’t find the container. A thorough search on lower ground incase it had fallen revealed nothing.

A final DNF for today's attempt on this trail. This was a very nice climb with a lot to take in as I looked around. I had surprisingly stable coordinates and the few logs I could look at actually gave me some clues. Despite all of that I'm not enjoying it enough. After a while it seems, to misquote Ian Gillan, without a kill there's no thrill of the chase. I will hopefully return here one day soon with friends.
I was out and about today in bargo walking the fire road trail picking up all the caches that are lined along there. In the end I had 16 finds thankfully and 1 dnf unfortunately but that’s caching for you. The river was pumping with all the rain we have had in the past couple of weeks, most of the trees along this trail were black from the recent fires aswell. Due to the recent storms there were lots and lots of fallen burnt trees all the way along the trail, but the regeneration has already started. There was even a landslide at one point of the track that I had to hop over.

This one took a lot longer then it should have, not because I couldn’t find it but because I managed to get carried away climbing up and down the cliffs in the area. I managed to scramble up and down and then up and down again and then over there and over here, 20 minutes must of gone by before I realised that I should probably start searching for the cache. Luckily it wasn’t too hard to get to and I spied it as I was gaining elevation, a quick sign of the log and on I went to the next one!

Had a fantastic day along the Bargo River Fire Trail with PPE. This was 12 of 16 finds.
Standing on the fire trail below this cache we knew the drill - go up! Got to a promising area and started to explore. Weren't making much progress locating the container until PPE caught a glimpse of it from below. Thankfully he also had a long reach to make the grab.

#13 on the Crash and PPE Bargo Blitz today. Perfect weather for an outing an it stayed just below uncomfortable all day long.
Another challenging climb and search, however by now I think we had found our groove and made a quick find.
Really appreciate all the effort made to set up this series especially the quality and and positioning of the caches

8th of 17 finds today.
The Day -
I have been eyeing this swathe of Fire trail caches for quite some time now as the D/T ratings are all incredibly attractive and I’m working towards raising my D/T average above 2 (currently my average Difficulty is 1.95 and my average Terrain is 1.93). Plus, I love hiking along Fire trails as they are infrequently traipsed and always showcase some spectacular countryside.
I left home early, just before 5:30am, and with only a handful of cars and all green lights (finally!) my travel time was not long at all. I left my car in the suggested parking area and begun my journey.
The Cache -
Another highlight of the day with excellent placement of the cache and a great cache container. Plenty of different avenues to and from GZ. Happy to make the find here. Cheers for the placement The Dilly Boys.

Last day in the area and had no plans. Saw a few caches with nice D/T along this trail, so decided to grab the ones that interested me. I found the pipeline people mention following once I was at the top... a bit of a search and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC!
In town for the oz geo muster 2019 The Gong. Enjoying the town. Enjoying the caches. Thanks for the great event and cache.
By this point I was starting to feel the burn in my legs from making it to each of these caches. This was another one which was well worth the effort in getting to. Again well worth a favourite point and definitely love the d/t rating on this one. Appreciate the effort in placing and maintaining this cache.
Thanks The Dilly Boys for the cache.
Found at 2:49 pm on 8/7/19.

Out cache today with Tim_amy picking up the caches along the fire trail. Very happy with the high D/T along this walk. TFTC The dilly boys #1414
Really not sure how we found this one. GPS was no help and we were searching quite a large area of multiple good hiding spots. I just happened to be checking around a corner I thought would surely be too far away and a spotted some green that I remember seeing in a previous photo. Reached up and amazingly there it was- another nice sized cache in good condition. Thanks Dilly Boys.

A weekend trip to Sydney from Canberra to drop off my son and his girlfriend at Sydney airport and then visit my cousin and his family. I cached my way back to Canberra via some specific caches with D/T combinations I needed for a challenge. This was one I was one of the 2 here I was aiming for. This was a relatively quick find. Even though the GPS was pointing a few metres away, my caching senses necessitated having a look at a certain spot where something just caught my eye. This could have easily been missed. TFTC.

A much easier one than anticipated. Certainly helped to have arms like an orangutan! TFTC!

On a mission to Canberra today via Bargo River chasing some high D:T combos. We (geodaughter aged 5) did the first 10 of the trail in reverse order - all we had time for today.
This was the second of the day that we attempted and another fun scramble. A million places it could be up here but got lucky and found it in a couple of minutes. Clever spot. I really like the awkward lean out to reach it TNLN TFTC

Headed off for a caching day around Bargo with Azzepious and Lokied. We were aiming for some of the high D/T caches along the 'power trail' in Bargo. We managed to grab quite a few, and only obtained some minor scrapes and scratches for our trouble. All logs were signed as 'Team GOGGGG' the Group of Glorious Gaming and Geocaching Geeks.
A big climb up and a few circles trying to find the cache but we got there in the end!

Out for a day of geocaching around the Buxton area with Azzepious and mrsmith00 to help celebrate my 40th, grab a few high D/T combos, and bring some form of respectability to my numbers! All logs signed as GOGGGG.

#12 of 32 - Another tough climb and a longer search to due to the clever hide.

In celebration of the 40th birthday of Lokied, we set off on an early caching day towards Bargo.
End copy & paste section.
Find 12 of the day.
This was tricky.
A serious bush bash climb, followed by a lengthy search.
GPS was bouncing all over the place and we circled the gz multiple times before we found the prize.
It was well hidden.

We were about to begin the climb for this cache when a large military plane came flying over loud, fast and low. Must be flight training we decided. Made me jump though, definitely was not expecting that. Made the climb for the cache, 007Mushu and QAVX beat Little Cricket and myself to the GZ. Great hide TFTC:)
An afternoon caching adventure with Lucky Cricket, Little Cricket and QAVX. Just as we were leaving the track a Hercules Army airplane flew low above us. They are onto us with hidden treasure in the middle of the bush! A great hide which I luckily walked strait to. TFTC
Out caching today with seaker200 and mistysoho, our goal for today was to tackle The Bargo River series and other hides in between up to Cast Away which we did with success which took us just over 5 hours to complete and return back to the car.The trail walk was great, very enjoyable !!,we found most of the caches without too many issues but there were one or two that tested us,some great coords and others not so great up too 37m out but following hints, caching trails, geosenses and determination soon had us those more tricky caches.
Over the day we saw plenty of wildlife too including an owl in a cave just meters above a cache hide,I got stung by a wasp and also picked up a lonely tick and had an awesome time in doing so.
Thanks Trickygav,Bilba and The Dilly Boys for the caches !!
Its been a big day, apologies for the repeated logs

Out today finding some caches with Brewmaker around Picton, Thirlmere, Tahmoor and Razorback.
This was one that we found along the firetrail series. Parked the car in the designated parking area gz and then walked along towards gz. It was a nice walk through the bush beside the creek (which was browner and more polluted than I was expecting). Many of the finds involved scrambling up and then back down a slope, and some were quite difficult.
This was a tough climb up. After having a bite to eat and a drink down below, Brewmaker found a little track and soon made the find. Signed the log and then replaced it all as found. TFTC

OCW GeodudeAU around this area today. The trail along the Bargo River was a lovely hike, with only our detours to go hunting for caches in the bush that made our journey longer than it would normally take. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these hides in such a nice place.
This was our 2nd attempt, on our way out. Luckily I saw a geotrail that took me almost to GZ. This is a steep slope with lots of obstacles on the way. I couldn't believe my luck when I saw it in plain sight. Nice big container, but those eyes on the skull are scary. TFTC

My GPS went nuts on this one so I made the climb a lot more difficult than it had to be once up there Keno7 (who followed her GPS the right way) soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
One of our longest searches of the day in a great little hunting ground. The darling wife eventually came up with the goods.

Loved the excitement of this one. Fav point. Skull still there. Thankyou for the cache . I had help from a little blue man.
Had a great time exploring down Bargo river fire trail! A lot of bashing and scrambling, biut all worth the effort. Love hides like this and couldn't get enough. Unfortunately I had to cut my trip short due to lack og time, but that only means I get to come back. Coords were quit a bit out here and there, but that was to expect in this area, at least the caches were in a "to expect" spot. Great fun and lots of favourite points!

Wow! What a climb to GZ. Mrs jaybeem had the artistic talents of 10011010 imprinted on her brain before the climb and led us straight to the cache. So sure of her own ability to recognize the spot she left her phone on the track with friends. Tftc.
**Looking for something to do today, I decided to tackle some of the caches in the Northern areas of my 50km radius.**
I wanted to head out to the caches along Fire Rd. With a bit more research, I was motivated enough to take the walk out here. Walking in was the easiest part! From there is was a lot of physical exercise - nothing overly demanding, but challenging enough. I might not have enjoyed the exertion, but I'm sure my body will be thanking me for the workout! Something I can definitely appreciate about this trail, are the cache sizes!
This cache: Like others before me, I scrambled the first few metres, before heading to the right to follow the pipeline all the way up. Once at the top, it was an easy spot in the logical area - more climbing on things... Cheers

Out caching with Seemyshell today for a few along the Bargo River. A great series along with others added in as well. A fun day with some serious bush bashing but worth it for the smiley.
Thanks for the company Seemyshell and thanks for the cache.

A lovely walk towards the weir. Didn't go all the way today but will be back. Plenty of big trees down over the track and along the creek after the recent flood.
Took a while to find but a clue in a previous log helped. Another great size cache in this area.

Today ZQX, DogBoyOz and I walked along the trail seeking some high D/T numbers. Anything with a combined total of 5 was fair game. It was a good walk of almost 11km with most of the effort on the side trips.
Climbed up the old creek bed and made it to roughly where the GPS said. I was at a spot and craned by head around the corner and spotted the cache. My height was certainly an advantage then.
Thanks The Dilly Boys

Headed out this afternoon for a few hours caching with Hoojar and while I'd seen the many caches in the Bargo area pop up I hadn't done much homework on them so today as ventured into the bush I was pleasantly surprised by the caches we did but a little under-prepared for the series along the river.
Luckily for me Hoojar specialises monkeyman skills so this one didnt pose to much of an issue.
Thanks to the CO's for the caches.

Juno and I headed out this afternoon for an afternoon of caching with The Rats. This trail along the Bargo River Fire Road was a major goal.
I was absolutely amazed at the damage done to the area by the recent flood. So many huge trees washed away; mother nature is impressive.
A fantastic walk along the trail with many great hides, so good challenges too, keep up the good work. Juno and her four legs only couldn't climb to one GZ.
Followed our instincts up the creek. Reached up, and there it was!

A long walk with Rainbow Spirit.
I came around the cliff from #10 while Rainbow Spirit took the track. After around glad an hour a phone-a-friend helped make the easy hide that we made harder. A cool area to explore.

I came up the 'causeway' while TC wandered about in his own way. Eventually we gave up and phoned a friend who gave us a big clue, thanks J+jau...Then it was a quick find about 10m west of where the GPSrs wanted us.
Another fun scramble, good coords making this one easier. Overshot then came back down for an easy grab. TFTC!
Definitely worth a favourite point if only I could figure out how to give it with this updated version! The best I've come across so far tftc
Actually didn't find this one my bad please ignore previous post now more determined to find this one to make amends
With spot on coordinates and some helpful previous logs this cache was a walk in the park compared to the last! Helps being tall I think... thanks for the cache! Looking forward to the rest of the series
Had another go . Went up about half way then took the pipeline route as couldn't see how to get up further to the left, across just below the top, and there it was, found good right hand grip while left hand took hold.couldnt extract at first, found out later what was holding it, lifted out. Didn't exchange anything as a bit exhausted to think of that, maybe next time (hehehe). When replaced had a better foot space and could see how it was staying there. Went down to pipeline and followed to almost the bottom. Tftc and to the hints by others otherwise would be still looking. #250 .phew
Geokid found this one while out today placing more caches along this trail with TheDillyBoys.
great hide as usual, once we had the co-ords and general area, gps was put away and actually used our geosenses and searched to find it, looking in any possible place.
once cache was in hand signed and returned
thanks TheDillyBoys for placing this cache, these are the reason why we do it, getting out and exploring and seeing this great country

Came back - on Friday - to try our hand at this one again. Armed with the CO's new image (a picture truly is worth a thousand words) as well as an extra note from the CO, we went straight to the cache with no trouble at all. It would seem the problem we experienced on our first visit was simply that we deemed the hide out of reach. We were probably within inches but being close to an edge and unable to see high enough, we dismissed the prospect as unattainable. But the new info left little doubt.
I think the coordinates are close enough they don't need adjustment. Perhaps adding one to the south and subtracting one from the east might, in theory, render a closer mark but given the overhead interference and the rocky surrounds, changes might not translate favorably. Best to leave things be. If it's not broken, don't fix it, right? I'm sure ten feet or two meters is close enough that one needn't broaden the search too far to make a find. I might add for the sake of future searchers that the pipe line is 'way off the mark and on the wrong side of the floodway gully. We found the left side of the gully had the most slippery rocks on the scramble up but in dry weather you only need be mindful of your footing. But going up the right side and crossing at the top is very easy too, so no harm using that route. During our first search, we went right up to the very top and it was there we got the worst gps reading. No matter tho, because you don't need to go up that far.
Lastly, given the posted waypoints are all the same as the cache location, I took the liberty of measuring a few points. Prob'ly don't need them, but here they are anyway for whatever they may be worth.

S 34 14.562 E 150 34.483 Gate
S 34 15.013 E 150 33.774 Causeway
It's about a three kilometer round trip hike. Despite appearances, this might be D3.5/T3.5.
Photo note: Ordinarily we take photos of most finds except when something eludes us then we go into seek mode where nothing matters except finding the cache. Consequently, we lost out on realism in this image. Hopefully my artistry will stand in well enough.

Well finally found on the second time. I suspect someone had pushed this back too far the first time and there would have been no way for me to reach it if not for 10011010 grabbing it.
Found it today with my little brother. A nice wall along the trail and we just scrambled up in time to miss a bunch of trail bike riders.
Lots of area to search, but I made it even harder when I focused on the 30m displacement that I saw in a previous log. It was closer enough to the published coordinates.
Easily missed.
Took the travel bug.
Thanks for the cache.

Armed with the picture in our mind (thanks TDBs) we set out again for a lovely walk along this trail, so peaceful today out here, not a cloud in the sky. Nothing like out caching on Friday 13th!
This would be an interesting cache in the wet! Wow that seemed a long way back down, I wanted to continue up instead on the way out. You could almost skate down those rocks and leaves, watch your step. Glad 154 spied it first and went in for the kill, cause I sure as hell had reservations about grabbing that from there.
OCWF SL TNL1 + TB Ivor D'iver left in cache. Happy Travels little guy.
TFTC always nice to see decent sized caches these days.

Great to meet up with J+J today and the geohounds. All good with this cache still in play.
Yea!!! Found it. We took the oppotunity to give the geohounds a walk on this track and then had to hold them back on the track while one 'J' made the scramble. I think I looked in every nook and cranny and had just returned to the track to give the other 'J' a go.
After checking the picture I returned with a spot in mind. Bingo Yes it's still there and my GPSr said 2 mtrs. Not bad. We also met up with the COs who were about to do a cache check. We all then returned along the track now fast turning dark.
SLTN TFTC and great to meet up with you guys. Good one.

GPS said I was within 10 feet but the container was not to be had today. I suspect this needs either better coordinates or a more helpful description, or both.
Thus is what ur looking for. Fire rd continues once u get to the green locked gate. Hole in the middle of a old causeway.
Made way up this arvo ,gps said 10 metres away, checked out cavity at that point, suspect it was further up over slippery rock , would have been a bit scary on lonesome as phone was in and out, may have had to go down a bit around to the right and up, will watch for future finds ,before returning with a fellow cacher. Never been along this road before, new experience ,tftc anyway
We found the hole in the causeway easy enough but an hour and half of searching yielded no results. I wonder whether the weather has shifted it given it was obvious a fair amount of water had shifted the terrain with debris everywhere. Either way, will wait for further finds to return.
We were headed in this general direction to get the old 2001 cache near the cutting and on a scan of what else is in the area we saw this was new and unfound do we made this the first stop. On arriving at the gate to the fire trail we recalled the area from the island cache up at the dam so off we headed. Last time we had recalled a causeway further on but as we found out it was not the one relative to this cache so we over shot a little. The climb up the creek certainly was slippery so we branched right and came across an old pipeline and then at what looked the right distance from the road headed back to the dry creek as that's what the GPSr was thinking. We looked in a few spots only to re check the GPSr and the accuracy was out to about 30m and while the iPad said 5m it's blue location dot was dancing all over the place a lot more than that. We let the geo senses take over but with so many possible locations it took awhile to eventually make the find. We opened the log and confirmed **FTF**. A look at the Garmin and its accuracy was still all over the place so can't really comment on the co ords. A good scramble and interesting hide. A favourite point from us. TFTC.
Are all the waypoints meant to be the same?
