TFTC. We were out and about on this beautiful Spring day driving some of the tracks around Jarrahdale picking up a few caches along the way. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches for us to find
Having finished my run for the day, I wasn't quite ready to leave the bush yet so I decided I'd start tackling this series. The fire unfortunately had melted the host so I was only able to find the cache, TFTC!
Out and about again, after the CITO in Coolbellup, L1.77 and I headed to Jarrahdale and planning to do as much of the Civilisation Series for the rest of the day. In general it was a disappointing day of caching - many of the ones we looked for have disappeared in fires in the last couple of years. We only had a few spares to replace where we saw remnants of caches. Thanks to janssej for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Easter 2024 (GC9PNFB): - 5 day event at Canberra Park adjacent to EPIC (Canberra Showgrounds) on the Federal Highway, only 6km from the centre of the city. The mascot for the Mega is Gangles the endemic Gang Gang Cockatoo, a bird you may see or hear while in Canberra. The official website - geobash.ozmega.com.auACT has over 4700 active caches, power trails, and over 100 Lab Adventures. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
After hosting an event in Coolbellup in the morning, we hit the road to complete some of the Civilisation series. Thank you janssej for placing this cache for my enjoyment.
Found it. TFTC janssej & muskcat83. Came back to this area to do a few more of the Civilisation series. Those with multiple DNF's were not visited. Most were reasonable good hides, some proved move difficult than others. There were a few that were in a fire and burnt or scorched. In general a good series, but just needs a little maintenance. thanks for putting them down. Happy to make the find here, replaced as found.

The toy attached is a little bit melted from burn offs but the cache is in tact

Found this one no probs but unfortunately we are now seeing the repercussions of the fires, cache is melted but there is still a log to sign underneath!
Headed out today to clean up some more of these numerous amazing Civs series. Hubby played the PC version of Civs for years and can picture exactly what each cache would be.... and wasn't disappointed!
Love the effort that has gone into each and every one of these..... always a fan of a themed series!
6th find of 39 with only 2 DNFs of the Tech series, looking forward to coming back for more!
Thank you muskcat83 and janssej for placing Civilisation - Tech Series - Ballistics for us and others to enjoy!

We headed out to look for a few random caches today. We took note of the number clue but who knows if we will get around to finishing the series. ... Maybe.
The cache has been through a fire at some point in it's timeline.

Today I was in the forest to get a trailer full of fire wood (with Permit ) Driving out of the forest I took the opportunity to finally clear some of these caches.
It had been a while for a most of the finds, but the caches were generally in good condition. Lots of activity around some of the caches locations, but they remained in place

Thanks janssej for bringing me to this location and taking the time to hide and maintain this cache. I found the cache at 14:29:00. This was my Find 26 for today out of a Total number of 28 Finds and 3 DNF for for this Caching Outing. The cache was found in Good Condition and I signed the log and returned the cache as I found it.
This find brings my total number of Finds to 5600.
Another trip out to this area for some more smileys. These series' never seem to end! But so glad it's a beautiful location. TFTC
Looking for somewhere to get some isolated exercise and after enjoying your caches yesterday we decided to grab a few more today. We arrived at gz and made a nice quick find and added our names to your log and returned your cache back to where it hides. Once again I love the way you added something to each cach to make it suit. Favourite point coming up when I get some more. TFTC janssej and muskcat83.
Out with axell33 getting some more isolation exercise and staying out of everyone’s way. Love the series and the bush and the great day we have for it all! TYFTC.
A quick find on a cracking autumn afternoon. The bush is glowing after a sprinkle of rain. TFTC
First find for 18th anniversary of Geocaching and with a day out with new friends the Driftonillions. Yeh
Out and about caching with the 'crew'.
Lots of fun and laughter as we went from cache to cache.
We found your cache, duties done and dusted,
and we replaced as found whilst caching under acronym pfrg.

Out for a day caching with Chwiliwr finding caches around the Jarrahdale area starting where he had previously left off the Procrastination Installation series the day they were published a few years ago and ending up doing a few of the Civilisation series east of Jarrahdale.
The track where the Procrastination series is located is currently only 4WD as there are quite a few puddles with a couple of 'lakes' to cross. One of the 'lakes' somehow let out half of the air out of one of the tyre's so it was slower going from that point on until we could put some air back in down at the service station down on the highway after we finished finding caches for the day. (Wasn't going to interrupt a fine and enjoyable day of caching.)
Most caches were found without trouble for the first half of the day but had to use the hints on the second half as the GPS started playing up making it a bit harder to find GZ. Some logs were not able to be signed so replaced them and at one cache removed a replacement cache as we found both it and the original on opposite sides of the track.
Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks janssej for the cache.

We headed out today to finish off the civilisation series and tackle the finales, our coordinates were jumping a bit but we still had a nice quick find here on a beautiful autumn day TFTC
Replaced this cache with a similar hide, as the old one was destroyed in the local burnoffs.
Day Thirteen of our holiday in Western Oz.
Bettyboo3747 and I went out to Jarrahdale to tackle the Civilization - Tech Series. We have never played the game, but now we can say we have done the geocaching version. Lots of short walks and cleverly thought out caches.
The first cache for the morning, and it really set the pace for the day.
If this is artillery units properly prepared for battle, we are in trouble! One wheel has dropped off! .
Thanks, Robmc.

#12737. Day 13 of our WA holiday and our 8th day based in Rockingham. Robmc and I decided to head East to Jarrahdale and do some of the Civilisation - Tech Series. We signed the first log at 9.25am and finished at 3.35pm - that is 6 hours with a lot of hard fought for smilies and a few DNF's. Our GPS'rs didn't want to cooperate today so quite often we were led on a merry dance.
It was so lovely to be out here in the WA bush and we got off to a good start with a quick find on this one. There were a lot of pretty wildflowers starting around here too.
Thanks janssej

Found with OzHockeyChick, Geoturtle37 and Pinkpiggy7 on our trip to WA to attend the WA Goes Big 2017 event in Rockingham. Quick, easy find. Thanks for the cache and thanks for bringing us here.

Day two of our weekend away in Jarrahdale, spent tackling the Civilisation Series, this cache was another find on our long list Our kids are fascinated with these types of things & were keen to find this one before us… It wasn’t what they were expecting to find, but they were still happy to make the find!

Gabs1963 and Miss-Placed came down to meet up with me for one last caching adventure before I venture further afield. We decided to be civil to each other today (harder for some team members than others). We had a great day caching, with more to go tomorrow. I love the effort you have put into this series with interesting containers. We are not quite finished (but dinner was calling at our accommodation). Looking forward to tomorrow! TFTC janssej
Since we came all this way to have our last caching adventure with BecknMonts before they head off to the dark side, we decided to have a go at this series. What can I say.... other than a bloody great series! Well Done!
The entertainment value alone with each cache was awesome and sometimes had us in stitches as we discovered them. Unfortunately we did not get to finish the series today, but will definately be back out there tomorrow to knock the rest on the head.
Due to the fading light and need for refreshments, it is tools down for now and back to our accommodation for the evening! Thanks for an awesome day out and entertaining caches

Miss-Placed and I came down to meet Becknmonts yesterday for one last caching adventure before she ventures further afield. We headed off from Gero finding a few geocahes along the way, we stopped at Moora for Breaky and with quite a few laughs along the trip down, we got there. Went out and did procrastination series.
Our 2nd day of our fantastic adventures started with next series civilisation Great people series, what fun day had by all, we ended going back and swapping cars went back out, some took a bit, others were as quick as, had a lot of laughs doing this one as well, gps's were jumping around a bit on us today but we did find them. Now back for dinner and start again tomorrow
TFTC
A perfect day out in the hills to get back into geocaching a bit again with the Civilisation series.
Although I have never played the game we did enjoy the great variety of hides and admired the effort that had gone into this whole series.
We will definitely be back for some more smileys soon!

With the staging of todays event, gave me the motivation and excuse to head down and make a start on this grand civilisation, with the main goal to tackle the tech series of hides
i spent the day tracking down a fantastic series of hides of great variety, all worthy of their now legendary status
Please to say to finish the day with 44 finds and one dnf
Great to meet the creators at the event and happy to award a favourite point for every find had today.
But this means I will have to do a hell of a lot more caching to restock the favourite points before returning and tackling the rest of the civilisation.

A great selection of cache hides and containers in a very quiet section of bush.

Hi there janssej.
We found your cache **"CTS-BALLISTICS"** at 10:48:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14720.
We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route that is mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today was different though, we gave the "Civilisation - Technology" series a really good nudge. Unfortunately we ran out of time before we found them all, so will have to return another day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 32 caches today & DNF'd 1. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Out on the geocycle. Great riding conditions. Relieved that this micro in the bush was an easy find. TFTC.
Found although cache was scattered around GZ. Was able to find the cache and log but the bottom part of the cache is missing couldn't find it. Will require maintenance so log do s not get wet.

Found “CIVILISATION – TECH SERIES – BALLISTICS”, but without a log sheet! I’ve added a temporary replacement log sheet to sign log. TFTH janssej.
As it was forecast a fine day before this week's rain robbo56 and I decided to tackle this series , all in all we had a good day with 38 finds from the 41 we looked for . We found most fairly quickly usually within 3m of our GZ,.

fun day out with mikirst. really enjoyed doing this series .tftc and effort involved!
Another day caching with S'n'N and decided to hit this series and found 19 before we ran out of time. Will definitely be back to finish it!
TFTC! Had a bunch of free time on a lazy Sunday so teamed up with Cravo10 to grab a bunch of caches in and around Jarrahdale.
We were originally heading to the CBD as there are a huge number of new caches that way but decided to head down to Jarrahdale.
Our main target today was the TEch Civilisation series after seeing some awesome reviews on the local geocaching Western Australia Facebook page.
We had a great day out starting by grabbing the Jlotos series on Shanley road, which were all nice simple grabs except one where we had to look for quite some time before slapping ourselves in the forehead. We loved the post cache, you'll see it when you get there, a huge effort from the CO to out together a nice well thought out cache.
Well the tech series certainly lived up to expectations, a hugely well put together series with an awesome variety of cache types and container types which kept us guessing for what was coming next. This series is a huge credit to the COs, and they deserve all of the favourite points coming their way (if people have enough in the bank!!)
We spent quite some time grabbing all of the caches, even had a couple of DNFs which is kinda good as we get to come back!! We metup with FErnando girls and Britt Girls (I think) at one of the caches, was great to finally put a face to the name and I think they liked the smile that came to my face when they told me about the difficulty they've had with some of my caches in the south Perth area.
We cannot speak highly enough of the caches in this series, I do hope that as time goes by that caches will support the COs in replacing logs as they become wet and full as there are a large number of micro and small caches in the series.
We now can't wait to tackle their other series how hard can it be? Which looks quite hard lol.
Thanks to all of the COs for their caches today we had an absolute blast and can't wait to come back to grab a few more. Thanks

Headed out with Barnzy12 today to go tackle the Civilisation Series in Jarrahdale.
The afternoon was a lot of fun and frustration at the same time.
like normal i was relying on B12 with the offline list and as such i rarely was using my phone, thus meant that all inputs to Co-ordinates were completed by Steve himself. After a phone a friend and realising that we had the correct coordinates we kept looking only to "soon" find out they were entered wrong and infant we were 145 meters away from GZ.
It did get better from there with all required Tools found and or bought with us to find the majority of the caches.
we did however have a few DNF's mainly due to the fact that the rain set in at the end of the day and we were more focussed on how to stay dry than on finding the cache. Turned out that we had been looking so long that we didn't realise how wet we got and gave up from then. It did pay off as when we got in the car the rain increased and on that note we called it a day.
All caches found were in good condition and replaced as found.

Out today with Mistraluna, for a days caching, heading up to finish the new Jarradale run, tftc, sl,tnln
Out today with Mr Jackylegs44 - the fairer half of the team had to stay home and study (bummer) - but the weather was perfect for a day of caching, and we couldn't resist taking the opportunity to head off in search of unfound caches. Thanks for the smiley janssej
I had been watching the Civilization series since it was first published, and with some banter in our cacher catch up group a date was set for today and all those without work/wife or otherwise commitments came along.
KrabiBoy, SVKR_WA, Granett and myself set out to tackle this series, and we started at the eastern end worked our way west.
The time and effort put into this series makes it an outstanding effort and one I recommend when asked whats good?
Thanks for the great series, excuse the late logging and generic logs.

Hit up the 'Civilisation - Tech - Series' today with SVKR_WA, AlliedOz and KrabiBoy. We started at the eastern end and worked our way back towards Jarrahdale. Found the first one around 8:00am and were all done and dusted by 1:30 with no DNF's. Some of the hides were a little tricky and I loved the themed caches. We had a great morning with some light hearted banter thrown in here and there.
I was the first to spot this one shortly after arriving at GZ.
janssej I found your cache at 1:03pm, this was the 40th of 45 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 3232. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

I have been itching to get out and complete this Civilisation series since it was first published, and it soon became the next target series.

It took longer to get the log back in than it did to find the cache.

Finally made 5000th find...Thank you to Richlinks and Iluvtrekking , Branzy12 and Drovers for the fun days. Thank CO for a fantastic series. FP
We have had this series listed on our agenda for a combined foray with iluvtrekking, Everlasting & JacobsCrew2. What an amazing day we reserved to head to Jarrahdale, perfect winters day. We combined into two 4WD's with geo-schnauzers and enough nourishment for a weeks camping. We had time for morning tea and lunch breaks and a lot of fun along the way as well as bumping into four other teams travelling in the opposite direction to us. Apologies for the generic log but there are not enough superlatives to cover 44 separate entries to describe what an awesome series this is. Congratulations to the CO's for the fabulous series and the work put into each of the 'themed' hides. Deserves a favourite point for each and every one which we are thrilled to award.

Meet Richlink, iluvtrekking & JacobsCrew2 at Jarrahdale, then I ride the Richlink’s car with geo-schnauzers – admired your created and themed hides so excellent. We enjoyed every minute – search and signed the log… the weather was perfect for the day. Congratulations to muskcat83, janssej for wonderful job. [^] [^]

Headed out today to make a start on this new series. I used to play this game on PC a few years ago, so understand the concepts of the Tech tree.
Loved the variety of containers, great for little and big kids alike.
This was a pretty easy find by the geoson.

Out for an afternoon's caching with "Tiger Rose WA OZ" after an enjoyable soup lunch at the Jarrahdale cafe / shop. We enjoyed the caches that we did and appreciated the effort put in by the CO's to make the caches interesting. We will be back to finish off this great series.
Mrs K got a big fright here when the cache moved as she went to pick it up !! It seems Mrs T poked it with a stick from another direction at the critical moment
Thanks for the cache janssej [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry .
This was find # 1 of 7 and 0 today giving us a total cache count of 3080.

Originally found under family caching name clan-wallace, now re logging under own name.
I had seen with much interest the publication of this series in one of my favourite parts of the darling Scarp. So today, the stars were aligned, with a lovely late Autumn day after all the rain, and great geobuddies Clan Wallace and Megawat60, we made a start here, a quick find which set the tone for the rest of the day. My geotool was useful here, SL and off we went. TFTC and series!
Well this one got us off with a bang! Out with m4yb and Clan-Wallace for a great series in this beautiful bush.
A nice quick find to start the day and liking the look of this series already.
Thanks jansej

I met up with M4yB & Megawat60 at the disused roadhouse on the Cnr of SWH/ Jarrahdale road where we all jumped into one car & headed towards Balmoral Rd.
"into the Valley of Death rode the six hundred" ....well 3 of us really but you get the picture!
If this is to be the standard of the series we are in for a treat.
The log was awkward to remove & even more so to replace but that did not detract from our enjoyment. Have a fav from clan-wallace. TFTC

Hi there janssej - We found CIVILISATION – TECH SERIES – BALLISTICS today - our find # 3791. A quick find while out caching and in between showers. SL.Thanks to janssej for the cache.
Headed out with Skippy 46 today to find as many of these caches as we could. We ended up finding 33 so we will come back and finish the rest on wednesday. The weather wasnt the best but we only got rained on a few times but the GPS played up a bit with all the cloud cover. Great variety of containers with a few that gave us a laugh and i must admit there was a few that had us searching for a while. This one was quickly found but it was hard to do back up. After replacing it and getting back to the car i then realized i forgot to get the clue so i had to go back and get it again. TFTC janssej
Out for a caching run with ooh yeh. A total of 33 finds for us today so we will have to come back to finish the series.
