I checked on this one after today's event and it was missing again.
I have an idea.....
Will take a minute to investigate so I will disable this for the time being.

Looked around for a while. Thought we had an idea of what we were searching for and where it might be, but no luck.
Checked on this one and it was missing again. So for I think the 13th time I replaced it again.
Let’s hope this one is luckier.

U really do need to get down low. I spotted something very pebbly that appeared to be a marker? Easier to spot from the opposite and head round and grab. Cheers
Grey Nomads travelling around Australia - more recently, just Queensland, and of late, Townsville, where our geo-van is firmly planted. Went for a drive along The Strand with Garmin showing me the way. Some we found (3), some we didn't(3)
Logged a did not find back in April 2017 back in town today almost 4 years later for a short pass through drive along the Strand. Quick look again for this cache, sadly old eyes and bad backs and legs did not find this cache again

Out for a ride so I checked on this one after the last log and replaced it as intended.
Happy hunting.

One sniff told me all I needed to know about this hiding place.
It had been used a toilet using multiple areas.
Not for me so will give it a miss.

Had found the spot a couple of months ago but unfortunately no cache so after it had been replaced I kept it up my sleeve for an easy streak filler while I was at the strand. That day came when I was down there for dinner and ate far more than I should have so I was looking for a quick find and log before going home and regretting every decision I’ve ever made.
As I expected, an easy find (only because I knew where it was! It took me way too long the first time) and signing was done. TFTC!

With the large number of hiding spots here I thought this one would take a while, luckily found it quite quickly

Today hubby road his bike with the Snakepitters from Rowse Bay towards Pallarenda.
This is a very scenic path to ride along. They then completed their ride along The Strand.
They had a mixed bag of finds & a few DNFs.
Some enormous Banyans along The Strand. Was able to spot the cache after a couple of circles of the tree.
Thanks for placing this amazing series burgo78

Our last day in Bowen and luckily only a few caches to go, but still some hill climbs to negotiate. We even had time to take in the Bowen markets on the way.

I checked on this one after a message from a finder who found the fixing point but not the cache. I have now replaced it.
Happy hunting.

Found it, was a bit tricky, you just have to look in all of the cracks and gaps.
This was a challenge, climbed the tree before I read the hint or activity, which was a bit of fun but a waste of time! Then I got down low and BINGO! luckily I got it in a quiet day! Really fun find!
This one took a little bit of time to work out which part of the fig it could possible be in. My reluctant geo-husband was the brave soul who retrieved the cache. Very clever️

Grabbed on my last morning here, got up at 4 and walked the strand before it got busy TFTFC
Had a look when no muggles were about. Unfortunately night time + a sighting of the largest ants we've ever seen scared us off before finding the cache
Burgo showed this cache to the journalist Elizabeth during November 2019 event. I tried to forget about it; I like to have a challenge when I look for a cache. But that one is hard to forget... TFTC
I have had my eye on this one for a couple of months now but whenever I’m in the area there are always plenty of people around. I’ve got some time to kill tonight so I thought I’d have another go it. TFTC
Down for some exercise and got to this cache site. Luckily I had me geoferals with me and sent them in for the recovery. They had fun doing so! One more Strand cache down!
Thanks burgo78. FP awarded as my kids had a blast with this one.

In the early hours of Saturday, the 2nd of November 2019 I got one of those phone calls from your mum that you don’t ever want to get. My brother had attempted suicide and was in the ICU of the Townsville hospital, and he wasn’t expected to survive. By the 3rd of November I was joining his wife and kids, my mum, my dad and my sister around my brother’s bedside. Through the following week I would use my geocaching to explore Townsville, to clear my head and to be just by myself to cry.
At the end of Monday the 4th, I sat around my brothers bedside with my sisters and watched my brothers laboured breathing. His breathing was now the only sign of brain activity that he had and even that wasn’t strong. I got back to my AirBnB at around 9pm and at 11pm I got the phone call that he had stopped now being able to breathe by himself and was now totally brain dead. I went to be with my mum who couldn’t bring herself to go and see him, whilst the rest of the family went to the hospital. The next morning, I went to visit my brother for the last time. It’s a hard thing to see. After visiting, we all went to the pub and had a big lunch and remembered the good times with both tears and laughter. My dad and I went across the road to a beach side bar and raised a glass or two for my brother. I did no caching on the 5th, but the next morning I took a wonder down the Strand and found caches in between a lot of tears as I walked and remembered and realized why he had loved this place so much.
This was the first find for the day. I enjoyed sitting under the Banyans and watching the world go by. Such a great spot for a cache too. TFTC!

Wow tricky. Was going to award FP, but forgot to hit <3 icon on my original post, and can't add it now, sorry.
I couldn't see the cache, but got down low and up close and felt around in obvious location and came away with a quick find.

Spent way too long here. Circled GZ several times, following the hint instructions, but no luck. A bit hard on the old knees. [xx(] Our thanks anyway to burgo78.
Contacted the cache owner last night as the cache had been removed... came back at lunch time today and the cache has been replaced... this time we can claim the find..
Signed with 4 dots of lipstick as we had forgot our pen again..
Thanks for the cache

Found this one after locating a few likely looking spots. Not too many Muggles around, so the find was made by mother dragon whilst posing for photos.
All in good condition. Signed log and took more photos as the cache was replaced.

Found some items that appear to be a part of the cache but no cache, have messaged the owner to come and check..
Afternoon ride with my little one but he was more interested on swinging from the roots than helping me find it.
We had no luck here today, spoke to the CO who confirmed we were in the right spot. After we found the attachment point we could see the cache was gone.
Today we're going on a little hunt on our way to the famous Strand. Many muggles have complicated the search. But we were able to log it unnoticed. T4TC

Caching in and around Townsville and surrounds we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

You have beaten us. Looked in likely spots but being "oldies" couldnt get down on knees.
Took us a while and a dizzy spell later got on the knees and looked in the Judy hole walla found you little mugger
Found with Ree8 on a quick visit to the 'Ville. My first cache in Townsville. TFTC SL

Tuesday. Last cache find for today as we needed to push on and get washed and catch a plane for home. It’s been a fantastic trip. I followed the hints on the cache page and had the cache in my hands within a minute. I think this tree has been used for other purposes as it had a funky smell to it. Loved the tree though. We’ve only got a couple near where I live. I love these trees and it’s great to see so many in one area.
This was the 11th of 15 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***burgo78***, for showing us this place.

Found this one with the Brisbane Babes, Slow Puncture made the find fairly quickly it would have taken me a while to find this one, thanks Burgo78 for placing this cache here.
This was slow puncture, sharpem and my last cache for this trip from Brisbane. Wow this could have taken is ages but slow puncture found this one after around 5 minutes. I absolutely love these trees. There is art work on it atm which is awesome . Watch out for snakes ( see photo). Lol. Thanks burgo78 for all the fantastic caches you have made and the fun puzzles and great spots you have taken us. We have had a great time.
Really like this one and there is artwork on the tree so it’s doubly exciting! Fav here. Tftc
Mplc
EN- we continue our great holidays in Australia then Bali. After Darwin & Northern Territory, Now we are in Queensland. Leaving PortDouglas and driving southward to Airlie Beach. Now enjoying Townsville for 2 days. Short walk end of this afternoon and some caches on The Strand! My little daughter helped me for this one! Tftc

This one had been long outstanding on our to do list. On previous annual visits our attempts had been thwarted by muggles or council workers. Finally today, after scoping out the most obvious hidey hole we were able to get close enough to retrieve it. TFTC
TFTC ~ it took a little while, & geo-mummy playing games with the geo-munchkin helped because there is no avoiding muggles about in the area. Thankfully the picnic tables were vacant. A beautiful GZ Signed log, RAF, sincerely sore knees.
Hi there burgo78. While on holiday in Queensland we found this cache after a short search - and the container and log are in good condition. A FavPt for the extra effort in setting up this cache. TN, LN, SL. Thanks to burgo78 for this cache - our find 7232
Took a little while to find but had a feeling where it would be.
Love these trees. Also loved the walk here from our caravan park.
We are from Melbourne. TFTC

This took a while, the tree is so big with so many potential hiding places. But perseverance paid off.
Visiting from Canada on a Pacific Ocean cruise aboard the Viking Orion. Nice walk along the Strand Beach. Managed to reach in for this one. TFTC,SL
We were in Townsville Australia for the day on Holland America's Amsterdam. We had a plan for geocaching along The Strand and then to circle back to the downtown area. It rained on and off many times and then it got hot. By the time we had to head back, we were able to find 7 caches, but we had to DNF 4.
Thank you to burgo78 for 4 of the caches, C&M+B&B for 2, and Travelling Sister for #7.

This cache: Not a Quick Find. We needed a few TOTTs to get our eyes onto it. Marbles then retrieved it.

Determined male partner searched in the pouring rain (on the only day it rained in Townsville for a year) and was sucessful but is now very muddy!
2nd find on trip to Townsville from Dublin to visit son. A lot warmer than Dublin, but a lot wetter! Tftc
First time exploring these tropics and visiting the Great Barrier Reef. We picked up the motorhome in Cairns, and after looking at the weather radar changed our plans, heading down to Townsville and the Whitsundays first to avoid the massive downpours predicted in a few days. Our timing worked well, as we left the area just as the floods developed and the roads were being closed. Back in 'drier' Cairns we then finished off the holiday exploring the northern areas.
Stopped in Townsville today on the way south. After a DNF on the pier I was glad to make the find here. Had to wait for some muggles to leave the area and then in I went.
Then it was time to act like Tarzan. I think I scared a few people in the area .
Thanks burgo78.
