Haha love this one, clever, i didn't read the description to my mother and she commented on the cache item being there not realising what it was tftc!
Over from Adelaide Australia as an expat kiwi, catching up with friends and revisiting areas Ive lived in before..and of course picking up the odd cache along the wayA quick find, stamp and return here todayNice hide TFTC
A morning Hawera, time to find some solved Smiley's and some traditional caches in the afternoon. A favorite point from. Thanks 2 Bulbars for the cache.
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)…
Auckland Anniversary: We needed fair weather to smash out our big caching plans. We were hopeful that Taranaki would turn on some sunshine today and it did. In spite of one heavy downpour in the afternoon and the threat of thunder, we managed to stay dry and in the game.
We couldn't help but laugh at this hide. Sometimes, the best caches are those that seem as though they are meant to be. Thanks 2 Bulbars. TFTC.

The nearby property owner was just retreating after doing his lawns on his ride-on. Good hide here and added a new log as the old one was full.
With a preferable weather forecast for the Saturday this weekend, and a little time available for a roadie out Taranaki way I was off out the house at 0600 and back home 12 hours later. My initial (misguided) plan to cache up to Stratford, then back again was adjusted just after lunch and Normanby was the turn-around spot. A good day out and improved my Taranaki stats somewhat with 30-odd real finds and 17 Ad Lab stages (3 completed). Put my big-boy pants on to climb the Hawera water tower (a DNF for the cache though) and a great Earthcache out at Ancient Beaches. Many, many 2 Bulbars caches, thanks Lester, and appreciate the efforts of all COs.

That was funny!
I've found this cache during my fourth day of the Queen memorial weekend in Taranaki. Slowly going back home.

#21043. On our way to the cache we were worried it might be a type that needed something we had limited supplies of. Thankfully it was of a different type entirely. Nicely done! Quick find here. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ while travelling from Waitara (where we have been staying the past four nights) to Palmerston North. So many caches to find and so little time, so we had to limit ourselves to a pre-determined list.
Another good Fire Brigade hide and a quick find by SW - I'm pleased he was with me to retrieve! Did pong a bit in the building though. TFTC.

Ended up in New Plymouth today on a surprise impromptu boxing day road trip, and I couldn't have picked a better day for it. Was there for a few hours and them made my way back towards Wanganui and collected some caches along the way. This was one of them.
Clever hide, TFTC.

Clever hide. Here I was thinking that perhaps vaping is the best option for the environment! Tftc
A plan was hatched recently to hit the Naki area this long weekend. Nice to get away and grab a lot of our solved puzzles and ALs plus others along the way. Signed logs Team BoP to save room on log sheets. Haha funny.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Team BOP is back on the road this time heading to Taranaki with our sights set on some Labs, some geo-art & everything else in between
Our current incarnation includes Davidson Clan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed the cache logs as ‘Team BOP’ to save time and log space. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey as most caches have been found quickly & without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placements. Loved the container +1 FP
I appreciate there’s a stigma attached to cut’n’paste logs like these so I’ll try to provide cache specific notes retrospectively when I get home. We do genuinely respect the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles, but with a numbers mission like this - the hides start to blur together unfortunately. So Cheers COs, TFTC and most importantly - thanks for bringing us here

TeamBOP are together again for the long weekend. Philip.Perry, McJandals,NZFlossy and myself are heading to New Plymouth and surrounding areas caching. That’s different FP for this.
On a weekend trip to Taranaki with some of Team BOP. Always lots of fun on these trips targeting cache trails, solved puzzles and high favourites. Thanks to all the cache owners TFTC. Liked that one
i saw all the cobwebs and hoped it would be an easy find here, and it was, found signed and replaced and onto the next one, tftc
Thanks 2 Bulbars for the cache. It’s #1382 for us. We found your cache on 15 February 2021. Not very clever hide.
Teamed up with Cats&Dragons, for an overnight mission down the West Coast focusing in and around Hawera. It's been awhile since we've done a trip like this and it was great to be out finding caches again. We left Hamilton at 7pm Friday night and returned midnight Saturday, with only a few hours of sleep needed we managed 116 finds for the trip. A big thanks to all the cache owners for their placements.
Found this one fairly quickly, had an idea that this might be the type of hide from the cache name. Nicely done.

Thanks for the nice and easy park and grab. I forgot to bring a screwdriver for the other one so was glad I could get this one with no problems.
(# 5697). A flying visit to Taranaki primarily to get the TMGT geotour caches. Day 2 was to drive from New Plymouth to Hawera then back on home directly. Gosh I wonder where it could be? Everything in order. TFTC
Decided needed a mini holiday and made plans from coming back from UK mid year. I had picked an area of the country I have not visited before - New Plymouth. Once the Geotour had been published I had to change plans a bit to make sure I grab these along with caches I had marked as must get on the trip.
As a number of the geotour caches were down in Whanganui took a drive down grabbing caches on the way.

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Another quick find on our way past. Cheers.
Day 5- Wednesday 18 December. Hawera district again including Eltham and Manaia.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Yep, bus shelters need more of these. But I spent more time hunting for a bird nest than I did for the cache - I could hear the youngsters peeping.
Day five of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Hawera to Eltham - oh yes, it's going to be a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Team Gators, TheWanglers and Karma Reprint to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers 2 Bulbars for the cache

Day one, New Plymouth airport to Hawera.
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 1: We grabbed the car and started caching at 2pm and made it to Hawera after 8pm settled into our accommodation and had a bit to eat and hit the town before calling it quits for the day.
Hee hee, quick find.
Thanks for the cache 2 Bulbars.

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....
hee hee hee - another cool cache, spotted by TW. Nice one!

This weekend adventure had been 2 months in the making. An off the cuff comment made at a geocahing event late last year led to the planning and execution of a weekend in the Taranaki including summiting Mount Taranaki. I had a great time roadtripping and climbing with Gr33nslime and TwigNZ. We only collected 50 caches in total but had an amazing experience and saw some very unique hides. We logged our finds as team GST.
31 of 50 for this trip
I wondered straight to the right location but was looking the wrong way for a while before spotting this really cool cache holder. What a great idea and use of such an object.

This was the weekend I was finally going to get to climb Mt Egmont, something I have wanted to do for a while now, even before I discovered Geocaching!
I was part of a great team of 3, the others being Stardust718 and Gr33nslime, so for most of our logging this weekend we simply signed ourselves as either "G.S.T" or "Team G.S.T" depending on size of log sheet.
We had had an elated day yesterday, getting to the summit and back again safely, albeit with muscles that now complained heartily. But now it was time for the long drive home again, and a chance to pick up a few more caches on the way. We decided to only concentrate on caches that either were directly on our route, or maybe had an high amount of FP's, or else an 'other' sized container.
Having parked up near GZ, we wandered over to where our GPS's were indicating, and it wasn't long before we spotted an object incongruous with its surroundings. With a smile, we opened it up to reveal the logbook inside. A quick sign of the log, and then we were back on our way again. I love these clever object hides.
Thanks for placing this cache.

# 1316 Yay, this weekend it was time for a roadie from the Hutt Valley up to Taranaki, with the prime mission being a summit of Mt Taranaki, and the secondary mission being 2bullbars smiley trail. There were a few other caches added for good measure too. Team GST as we named ourselves consisted of Gr33nslime, stardust718 and twigNZ. All up we found 51 caches and only two DNF so that is a pretty good hit rate. Sorry for the bulk log here. Thank you very much to all of the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches that we had the pleasure of finding on this trip.
Such a subtle cache container, that you wouldnt think twice about seeing, until you thought about it little more. Very creative. Favourite from me, thanks 2 bulbars.

I liked the unusual container for this one, so worthy of a favourite point. A quick find and TFTC.
I have set myself a goal to get the requirements for the mystery cache The well-rounded cacher challenge (Manawatu) This requires me to get 25 badges 5 of which need to be gemstone badges. So each time I go out caching weather it is by myself or with fellow cacher I will try to get a least one cache that will get me closer to my goal
Out today grabbing some caches with the aim of getting enough caches to get the World Turtle souvenir and also getting some caches that will help with my main goal

Lol. Smiled when i saw it. Very original cache. And a nice dry place to sign the log. Wet and chilly today. Tftc
After a very chilly night in our campervan in Pembroke we headed for the Smiley trail, picking up a bunch of trads along the way.
After doing the first Call the Fire Brigade cache we were keen to stop for the second. And we were not disappointed here. This one ws a quick find, gave us a smile, and earned a Favourite point. Thanks for the fun.

Another really nice warm day. Ideal for little caching drive in the countryside. A great cache that gets a FP for its simple ingenuity and humour, as well as the great rural location. Thanks.

we so love the " you are kidding " caches so well done thank you so much for a fun cache FP from us
I am still parked up in Hawera with the caravan and venturing out and about doing the rural caches.
Everything checked out today with no fires.
Cheers for the cache.

Time to head back to Feilding after a great weekend in Taranaki. I'll have some time to do a little bit of caching on the way, but I don't want to go mad, as I want to get back to Feilding in daylight.

As I left "call the fire brigade 2", I noticed a vehicle parked about where I was heading & thought there could be some muggle issue's with this one, but was relieved to see them drive away before I got there. I then wondered if they were cachers, so checked the log, & sure enough Tmann & another cacher had signed it today, so I'd just missed them (hi guys).

Travelling through to New Plymouth to do final details organization for Mum in laws 90th birthday in August and had to locate a t least few caches en route. I did the short detour off the Sate Highway and had to negoiate the road works at the turn off here and went up to this cache first. It was quickly spotted, retrieved and signed and replaced. It is certainly not an ideal place for the school kids to try out some 'secret smoking'
Thank you for this new cache and another smiley face.

A tour around South Taranaki to Grab some caches with Biggelaar family and show off the countryside. I have driven past this one many times and never stopped, this time I did and we found the clever hide. TFTC
Out with Geco72, having an amazing time in the Naki ... from Nelson, Tasman. This was a goodie - that's all I'll say
Quickly found after visiting nearby family. A very clever hide thank you. Cheers!
A minor deviation while on our way to Hawera and there we have it, another dot day filled, which take us to 50 percent of our caching calendar. This was a nice quick find, in a type of container I have considered using except that I haven't come up with a suitable location. Good on you for this one.
All quiet here today, but then it is a Saturday and a school holiday so no sneaky schoolkids having a crafty smoke. Thanks for the cache.

Awesome cache is a cool spot. Found with Roachmann. He had spotted it before I had even started looking - I was too focused on the little birds in a nest close by. TFTC
No need to call the fire brigade today - too wet. A rather nifty hide. Thanks Bulbars.
