Found quickly and furtive while idling for a few minutes before entering the Base.
A quick stop and wait at the gate before going to a wedding thanks for the placement to able to do on the way TFTC
This is a revisit after a dnf earlier last year. Despite looking for it twice last year without luck, today it was a very quick find. I have no idea of how I missed it last year. Three DNF's found very quickly in the last 30 minutes. Puts a smile on ones face. Thanks.
Im back in Auckland for a few days with family before heading to the Mega in Dunedin. After some grandparent duties this morning, I spent the afternoon caching in Devonport. Once I had a sweep of the mine, I soon found the cache. Logbook signed and replaced as found. All good here. Tftc
Fantastic little stroll down memory lane as a daughter who dad served in the navy. Beautiful sunny day and no muscles to get in the way. TFTC
**22,110**A nice quick find here in the early morning with not a muggle in sight. Great view across the water. Really beautiful after the wild night last night. TFTC
I'm now back in NZ, having spent the last couple of months in Europe. Part of that involved leaving my car with friends in Northland (just), and yesterday I met up with them in order to have a catch up as well as get my car back ready for my big drive back down south again this weekend.Today I'm driving back to Auckland, and with no particular timeframe to adhere to I'm making the most of the opportunity to do a little cache maintenance on my own few caches up here, as well as pay a visit to a part of Auckland that I've never actually been to before, Devonport.Having parked up centrally, I had a great stroll around the place, picking up a few caches along the way such as this one. As I approached GZ I wondered if I was in for a bit of a hunt for one of those tiny magnetic canisters, but no, this was far more straightforward. No issues to report here and once the log had been signed everything was replaced just as found. Thanks for setting this one up.
After an early start this morning with kids activities, as I returned home there was much chat about an impromptu caching day in Devonport. Mr HeMaLuDy stayed home to chop firewood and I jumped in with Mr and Mrs NZT and NurseDr; Keylev and Cragger were also with the crew today. Logs signed as Team SEAC or just SEAC to save space. A nice quick find here.
Out for another team SEAC impromptu caching adventure to clean a few up in Devonport with hemaludy nztravellers and keylev. TFTC.
Nice wander around Devonport, collecting smiley faces All good hereNice location, TFTC!

A day off work so started the nearby ad lab so a logical place to also pick up a trad as its right next door. Thanks for the vache.
We were docked in Auckland New Zealand for two days on our ship - Holland America's Volendam. On Day #2, we took the ferry across to Devonport to do some Adventure Labs and some caching. By the end of the day, we completed 3 Labs and found 12 caches in our 8-mile hike. The two Labs in the Maungauika (North Head) trails had us going up, down, around, up, down, around . . . until we completed all 10 Stops - Phew! We still had some energy left after that, so we walked to Fort Takapuna to do the Lab and the caches there.Thank you to G-2 for 8 of the caches we found and to the other 4 COs for their efforts and for the other 4 caches.Thank you also to the Lab creators: G-2, Rebel98, and lumin298 for their efforts in setting up these Labs.#####################This Cache: Quick Find
We saw that this cache had been replaced after a DNF months ago and rushed right over! TFTC!
Visiting the North Island from Ottawa, Canada, by way of the South Island, and Sydney. Gotta get some caches along the way. TfTC

Third time lucky. I have searched GZ at least twice during the last couple of years but couldn't find it. I bet it had been missing then, because today it was a quick find. Nice hide, FP given.

Luckily there was no-one around when I arrived at GZ although I was almost caught out when replacing! Mines are quite large aren't they? Thanks for the hide and adding to the adventure today GeoTrioNZ!
Was in the area today to collect cache numbers and with a few adventure labs nearby, decided upon here for the task......On the bike for faster commuting times between caches.....later on in the afternoon this option really paid off, when the thunder storm hit suddenly.........
Cache is all good, signed in as SAC sometimes to save space in the logbooks........

Today I did a12 hour hike in Devonport with lots of caches and 5 LAB.
It was very cloudy and at 5pm the sun came out. Had 3 no finds and many of the logbooks was full. Nobody will write a maintain so I am also.
Thanks a lot, was a great day.

I am not keen on mechanism hunts, but this is a pretty small mechanism so maybe I can find it - wow - that was easy - given the size of this thing I was expecting a nano cache. Found with a bunch of muggle mates, on our way back to base. After dinner I left them to sleep or party or whatever it is that muggles do after dinner, while I headed out again. There's more hunting to do!
Leant something today. Torpedo Bay is so named after the torpedos that where reserved here, to be laid in the harbour for the Russian invasion that never happened. Turns out that torpedo is derived from Latin "to stun" (as in torpor - lethagy), and in those days, torpedoes included these tethered mines. Learnt that at the museum. Lots of cool stuff at that museum!
A flying visit (literally) for work today. My team and I flew to Hamilton, did our work there, then drove to Auckland to be ready for part two the next morning. However everything went faster than expected, the team arrived here earlier than planned, so we all headed to the Naval Museum to fill in some time. From there we walked back to barracks, geocaching along the way. After dinner I went back out again and climbed all over North Head (to use the naval term for the place). What an amazing place!
Next morning I went out yet again and found a few before breakfast. The team headed out for part two of the job and we all flew out about lunchtime. Still, 14 found - not bad! Oh - and three complete adlabs!

The day is wet out, but the cache is somehow still dry. The view is immaculate. Tftc!
Tftc!!! Came out here for the adventure lab. Found this cache too. Felt sneaky next to the Navel Base Amazing view of Auckland harbor!! Great walk along the water.
Out with Nutty Nora for a quick find. Best to come along at a quiet time.
Boom! Found with Squirrel in the Middle. Wandered along here as part of the adjacent Adventure Lab. Nice one
A nice quick find. You can have it. Thanks for placing your cache.
I'm in Auckland and I am exploring the region while I am based here. Today was a good day, I cruised around and about Devonport. The weather was pretty good, and I had a great time.

glad I spotted this quickly and swiped it as staff seemed to be leaving for the day. tftc
We had arranged to meet Team Welsh and Bennett24 near here on this rather cold morning. Two of us had not found this cache previously so we started a search. Tried a few likely places before one of us spotted the almost brazen hide. Thanks.
Arranged to meet near here to look for another cache, kiwicouple and myself came over to grab this cache while we waited for the last member to arrive. I spent a couple of times looking around at all the obvious places to find it before kc stepped in and found it straight in front of me in a place I was not expecting - almost out in the open. TFTC.
In Devonport looking for some caches with kiwisavage. Had looked for this previously but not sure how I missed it. nice quick find this time. TFTC
As previously said, I found the cache and the lid with not log.
I added a log and placed it back in hiding, hopefully all good to go now!

Didn't take too long to find this, but had already tuned my eyes in for something a bit smaller, (remembering one in Australia years ago) I almost started laughing, when I found it Lol!, my sweep turned out quite a quick one, I didn't get very far at all, TFTC.
felt a little suspicious playing with large explosive devices next to a naval base, but with a little groping the cache was soon in hand
I found this cache while out and about with ten students who made up team "SJCgeocamp". We parked next to the mine today before heading for a day trip to Rangitoto island. It didn't take to long with plenty of eager searchers to find this one. Interesting spot. TFTC.
