Im just going to ignore the NA log as it is clearly ridiculous to think its appropriate to put one on a cache because it doesnt have a pencil. AND to think this micro should have one!

#17751; Day 5 of the Rutherglen Mega mission and the plan for today is to reconvene 'The Canberra Mob' (aka TCM) to tackle the CSI 3 geoart series near Beechworth and ther First to Find Explosion series back closer to Rutherglen. Headed off in a convoy after watching the start of the Easter Egg Hunt and grabbed the first in the CSI series around 10:20. We managed to log all of the caches in the series along with a bonus and a few others as we made our way around the trails. It was then time to head for Beechworth, collecting this cache along the way, Arrived to find the queue at the Bakery extended halfway down the street, so it was back to Rutherglen for a bite to eat. Once the hungerpangs were settled, we rejoined the rest of TCM again to tackle the first part of the FTF series which had only been published a day or two earlier. All up 67 finds for the day including the Farewell to Rutherglen event. Apologies for the largely generic logs! TFTC Jamin Appleford Smile

Mega Weekend at Wangaratta. On way to home in Melbourne. we had a great time finding your cache Jamin Appleford, thank you so much for placing it.

17-Jan-22
Found with suss vulture during the aftermath of the amazing Wangaratta mega. We were on our way back from the Basketball and we were like "just one more". The name about the "views" attracted us to this one. Quick find at GZ, funny hide. Lovely spot for looking towards the mountains, this area in general is just beautiful. TFTC Jamin Appleford!

17-Jan-22
We had left the basketball court, heading back to base. S was intrigued by the 'views' in the name of this cache, so we stopped here briefly. Enjoyed some wonderful views all day!

16-Jan-22
Good find.

14-Jan-22
Wangaratta Mega time and with the FFLL ladies, we had planned to attack the big rail trail whether it was rain, hail or shine. Well the heat sure did knock us around and plenty of hydration was required across the day. We had a time limit today, as there was somewhere we needed to be in the evening so we got through as many as we possibly can.

Continuing on the trail on our ebikes, made our way to this one for a find and sign. Smile

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache Jamin Appleford Big Grin

14-Jan-22
Day 2 at the Wangaratta Mega with Rapidlywild.

Plans were made to attack the rail trail so with the eMtbikes loaded onto the car we headed to the furthermost part of this trail. Plans were changed as part of the team managed to break her foot and ended up being our ground support which probably actually worked out for the better. Hydration was kept cold and on hand if needed or should anything else go wrong.

Ground support picked this one up while heading to a meeting point. Certainly proves whether or not the T rating is correct when ground support is on crutches.
Spotted something that looked odd at GZ, signed and moved on.

Thanks for the hide and maintaining Jamin Appleford

14-Jan-22
A quick find with Budgietas and 1TOOLMAN. I loved the 'little girl' holding the rock back in the paddock.
Thanks Jamin Appleford

I had been set to attend another Victorian Mega but the damn pandemic began and for obvious reasons one was cancelled and one was postponed. I was pleased the postponed Wangaratta event went ahead but have to admit I was still apprehensive about the COVID situation. Although attending all events, (except 1 of the CITOs) keeping distance was still a priority. I had a great time touring with 1TOOLMAN and Budgietas although there was an empty void where SSR should have been.
As well as Wangaratta, we visited The Paps, Mt Buller, Benalla, Glenrowan, Winton and even popped in to Lex country, having dinner at Brady’s Railway Hotel. Our find numbers were low but our laugh count was high so I call that a win!

Early arrivals in town, ready for The Wangaratta Event 2021, gave us the perfect opportunity to be out and about among the unusual or old roads, letter boxes, views, rocks, waterfalls and many other sneaky spots highlighted by a geocache symbol on our map of the area around Beechworth. Fabulous views.

**FEEDBACK TO CO:** Log is up for a refresh.

Thanks Jamin Appleford for adding interesting caches to the geo-gameboard.

Found this cache as part of a run of 100 caches that included a few of the HSS caches, the gourment series and the Ned Kelly Helmet Series. We found this cache after the element series completing a loop back around towards beechworth

Great views from here of Mt Buffalo

--------------------------------------------

The Mega in Victoria I had always planned to attend, but due to covid changes I was concerned, I wouldn’t be able to due to work commitments. As these commitments cleared up, I planned to go over and catch up with GoosenEgg, Stainless Steel Rat, and 1Toolman while in Wangaratta for a day caching to attempt to find 100 in one day. As things turned out Stainless Steel Rat was unable to go, so I was invited to join GoosenEgg and 1Toolman for the entire period. 1Toolman collected us from the airport and we immediately drove to Victoria’s 1st Geocache. From there during the 4 days, we visited Wangaratta, Mt Buller, Albury, Wodonga, Benella, Glenrowan, and Beechworth (although we didn’t make the bakery much to 1Toolmans disgust)

The trip was less about numbers and more about visiting places that I had only driven through before. We did manage to complete the Ned Kelly Helmet series and find a great Earthcache at Murmungee Lookout and another cache at “The Paps” which gave tremendous views of the area. The GPS maze, which I must say was one of the greatest attractions was also attended as with another cacher I was first through on the Saturday Morning at 8.15. It was great to get this icon on my profile.

Of the trip, it was certainly hot and humid, but we really didn’t get rained on in any serious way, with the major storm passing through at night time, otherwise it was just hot or very hot depending on the time of the day.

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and can now cache and explore. Today we had a lazy sleep in and a late start with the mission to head back to Beechworth and have lunch at Billsons Brewery. After rolling out of the brewery after an awesome meal and some tastings, we headed back to Camp for a cheeky afternoon snooze. Stopped and grabbed this one first! Hmmm that looks a little out of place...A quick find ! TFTC

Buffalo was in full view on this clear and sunny day and a great vantage point on the entrance/departure from town.
Soon spotted the hide and the dampish logbook.

We put our Hi Vis on for this to 'evaluate' any damage the sign may need repairing, well that was our excuse anyway. . Preoccupied by our own stealthiness, we completely forgot to admire the view! Oh well, we will be sure to take a look out when we leave. Thanks for the cache Jamin Appleford

Back in the home town for the weekend and realised just how many caches I need to do in town. Started with this one today as we made our way around the back roads of town to collect a few. A quick find as we spotted it from the car. A nice easy p n g to start the arvo off. Cheers

02-Feb-21
After a fabulous couple of days up here in Beechworth, caching and catching up with friends, it was now time to go home. We look forward to returning again, as even after two visits we have hardly scratched the surface of what this lovely area has to offer. We stopped to find this cache on the way out. After walking straight past this cache to look at the views, this one was quickly spotted by Chook. TFTC Jamin Appleford.

School holiday time at Christmas – hooray. A week in Beechworth in the caravan (3 times already to Beechworth) with our daughter. Sunny all week, window shopping, visiting historic sights, walking in the bush, supporting local businesses, & geocaching of course. Found at 1140am by JK. It was suspicious so she took a chance, and got it.

29-Nov-20
Having a few days out caching with The Drovers collecting labs in Wagga and Temora we really wanted to do a few more so we took a detour on our way home.

We were heading back home after finishing the day off with an adventure lab in Beechworth but we couldn't help but to stop for one more at such a scenic location We were really happy when we pulled up here to find that we were the only people admiring the view as it took us a little while to locate the container. Once we did we had a laugh and thought how rusty we had become over the Covid 19 lockdown but at least we managed to add our name to the log.

Thanks Jamin Appleford for a cache with a fantastic view

14-Nov-20
The whole OSHFAM clan including geo dog Roxy decided to go for a drive from Porepunkah up to Beechworth, Wang and back to Punkah, caching along the way ofcourse. The weather was kind to us with the sun providing warmth and the clouds shade.

After a nice lunch of pies and sausage rolls in Beechworth we continued our travels making a stop here. The cache was located quickly and then we took in the views. Cache and log in good condition.

Thank you for the cache here Jamin Appleford

Found with ILookedThere as we raided Beechworth for every cache we could get our mits on. Twisted
Just cos it was a wet day didn't mean it couldn't still be a fun day. [^]
With the bikes all packed away, our plan of attack had turned to driveby parkngrabs. Razz
This one suited us perfectly as we started winding our way back to the other car in Everton.
TFTC Jamin Appleford. Cool

19-Oct-19
We (Dalerious and ourselves) were over in Beechworth today with the intention of picking up as many caches as possible along the MMRT to Everton. That changed about 30 min into the ride when the rain and wind started.
We changed tack and decided to pick up as many drive by's as possible instead.
We had spent most of the day out the other side of Beechworth. This cache we picked up on our way back to Everton. Great views. Beechworth certainly is a picturesque town.
TFTC Jamin.
