On our last full day in Longreach, we decided to head to Muttaburra, looking for caches along the wat as well as in Muttaburra. This was one of them.No water in the pump hole today. Would be a lovely area when there is ample water. Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks RoddyC for the cache.
Found during QOGM 2023 in our current hometown of Longreach.Out caching either as 3 of us with La Kedi or sometimes Mr Project and Ms Kedi.On occasion we were able to join with others so that we could grab the tree climbs and the tree fishes. Thanks for the event, we had a great time.

Well my trip up to QOGM has officially started and Im taking the very indirect route up to outback QLD to get there. So after cruising up the Hume to Sydney then the M1 and A1 up to Byron Bay with a few other roads in between as I have been cris crossing a bit so after heading west and making it to Longreach time for a break from the travelling. So after a couple big days out to Stonehenge, Isisford, Ilfracombe, the puzzle trail loop and the great tea last night with The Tritonz and Roaming Howie. Its finally Muster day Yahand after a great breakfast and then the fun drive up to Muttaburra it was time to find a few caches before the lunch event.I was up here last year and it is great to find the rest of the caches that I missed last time.I will pass on swimming here at the moment, maybe when there is a bit more waterThanks RoddyC TFTC.
Today is going to be another big and long day with a bunch of caches to grab on the way to the event in Muttaburra. Then grab a few around Muttaburra township, before heading back to town for more caches and then another event. Oh today also starts with a breakfast event at the showgrounds. The breakfast was good and the fruit platter was a very nice add on. While loading the info into the phone it was great to sit around and chat on peoples thoughts for the day. With the team gathered it was then off to make a mark on some log books. We signed the logs as Misfits and saw a nice variety of caches, with size and terrain not an issue. We all worked well as a team and it was a good practice run for the main event in a couple of days. After lunch and the run around Muttaburra town, we headed back to Longreach via these caches and puzzle caches. Thanks for the placements and the time in putting this all together.
Its ON, its Muster Day.We teamed up with JACS Team, Gcoven and Chamad for an action packed day. With papers in hand we made a mad dash around Muttaburra and the surrounding area grabbing a variety of caches along the way. What a crazy day! Thanks for bringing us here.#4034 - TFTC

A huge thanks for all the fun and shenanigans along the way. Great Northern escape 2022 Day 143. Barcaldine Day 2. Today's trip was to Muttaburra. It is over 150km so I headed off early. It was a nice drive and there was plenty of caching to do around town and along the nearby river. I ran into Domsky at a key point of the day, it is great to meet up with people in the wild. It was a long hot day, but I enjoyed myself and came home to Barcaldine in time to cook dinner and flop into bed before going out again tomorrow.
Just before Muttaburra, there was a detour out to this swimming hole. It looked great, but I just concentrated on the cache and headed on into town.
Thanks for the cache RoddyC

This would be an excellent camp site if we were with our camping chums. A lovely spot for a picnic too. You can see how high the river can be in floods here. The cache was a speedy find.
My geowalk didn't quite go to plan today, because on the way I found a dead walleroo with a live joey in its pouch, so I had to turn around and go get her some help. So, joey assisted, I changed plans and came to get these out here. NEF TFTC RoddyC
It being a new day it was decided to make our way out to the little town of Muttaburra wile doing the caching guided tour well not necessary guided but using the various caches to get us around the area.
Well having finished all our stop in Muttaburra and having a wonderful time finding all the caches we made our way back toward AMARAC and along the way we stopped at this one we missed on the way in and after making our way out the the GZ the cache was soon in hand and we were once again on our way back to our camp at Barcky.

Hi there RoddyC.
The QOGM event is over, and as we hadn't driven up to Muttaburra during the weekend, we decided that today would be a good day for a drive.
We had some GPS troubles, so we had to resort to "paper" logging and iPhone navigation for a while - so the caches won't always be logged in their correct order.
We thoroughly enjoyed today's adventure. Thanks for placing the cache for our enjoyment.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

We attended the Flash Mob and started our massive trip day out to Muttaburra with maccamob, pprass and Nana nel.

Visited trackables and added a favourite for the town.

Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass, Wazza9 and Nana Nel, at 1454. This place, in particular, seems to emphasise how vital water is to life. A few puddles only, but a nice sandy beach in one location. Our thanks to RoddyC.
Found at 2:54 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob, Nana Nel and wazza9.
A lovely spot for a cool swim in the hotter months - but not now! It is quite dry and there are just a few green puddles. Didn't even see any animals drinking the water!
After leaving the cache area, we headed off to do the small series nearby, but one of our tyres suddenly blew out! Had to put on a dodgy replacement and limp back to camp.
Thanks RoddyC.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you RoddyCfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

I had an early morning walk today grabbing 4 more smilies, (which earned me a new souvenir ) then after brekky, some sudoku and packing morning tea and lunch, Pa and I set off in search of more caches extending as far away from Broadwater camp as the Bowen Downs area. It was an interesting drive and we had fun exploring. This was one of the caches that was added to our collection. Thanks to all the COs who placed or maintained these caches which add so much to our travels. All logs were signed and returned.
