Great Northern escape 2022 Day 134. The Gemfields to Alpha. It was quite chilly night in Sapphire at The Gemfields, so I was happy to be up and away. There were a few caches along the highway, but I was still in Alpha by Mid morning and set up along the Cemetery road near the truck parking area. A spent the rest of the middle of the day trying to find the remaining Alpha caches. I failed on two that seem to be missing and had to leave one till after closing time. I finished the day with a late dinner at the pub as they did not open till 18.30, and no locals came in at all while I was there.
I will have to add my name to the list of those who could not find this one today.
Thanks.

Our second DNF in a row. Looked around here for too long too. Our thanks anyway to Nedandmrskelly.
Cache replaced. Owner notified. Enjoy. Logging with DeafCat, Deafphantom and DutchAus
Had a good look around for this one with COM084. No luck I’m afraid.
Be careful with the geokids walking around the structure. Broken glass and lots of Nicotine gum packets around.

Staying in Alpha for a couple of days and spent a morning getting most of the caches in town, Needs checking by the CO
Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that i can claim the finds or not as the case may be. TFTC.
02/01/21 Roadtrip Mackay to Emerald to Barcaldine to Aramac to Blackall to Jericho over the next 3 weeks. Lots of puzzle solving before and during trip. Searched area and found GZ . Replaced and signed log. TFTC SL Dropped off Caravan to Zip around area quicker.
Totally didnt spend 20mins searching everywhere except the exact location we should of been. 2 second find with a shift of focus. Thanks Owner
Day 10 of my road trip, travelling from Longreach to Emerald. There are a lot of caches to collect along the way, this afternoon I am collecting the Alpha caches.
This one took a little bit to find, but I got there in the end. Log signed and cache replaced as found.
Thanks Nedandmrskelly for the cache and thank you to sandshoo3 for maintaining it.

Day ten of my outback Queensland trip and the plan today is to arrive in Emerald by night time, via the towns of Jericho, Alpha, Sapphire, Rubyvale and Anakie. Continuing with my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day and collecting a few more for the day. I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit.
Caching on my own again and am enjoying the time and adventures that comes with that. Though most of the caches were easy finds, some did give me a smile and I saw some familiar name in the logs, was I following?
This cache was an easy find and in good condition. With the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

Day 14 of my trip north from Adelaide in search of some warmer weather and a few caches.
After camping last night at Jericho, today I traveled to Emerald, with a side trip up to Sapphire and Rubyvale.
I spent a bit of time in and around Alpha hunting out some of the caches in this Alpha series with mixed results.
This was a nice easy find.
Thanks Nedandmrskelly for the cache.

After staying at Emerald for a couple of days we were on the way towards Blackall via Alpha. Due to the number found the logs will be generic. Thank you to all CO's who placed the caches. Cache found and signed log. TFTC
Day 7 on our road trip to QOGM 2019 at Blackall and today we make our way from Emerald to Alpha with a detour to The Gemfields. We had a great day making our way around the area and enjoying the cafe at one of the caches. Thanks so much to the COs for placing the caches here for our enjoyment.
On our way to QOGM (Blackall) day 25 of our trip. 21 caches for the day and 751 for the trip.TFTC

We arrived in Alpha for an overnight stop on our annual trip around Qld. We had no idea if there were any geocaches here, and were pleasantly surprised to find this wonderful series placed by Nedandmrskelly. After inspecting the slab hut we made the easy find, without any muggle activity in the vicinity. Thanks so much for your efforts in placing these caches for our enjoyment. Cheers from Bindair Dundat and Princess Madelyn.
Grey Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Now travelling west towards Barcaldine for TheLongestLine (of RVs) World Guinness Record attempt. BRC is very proactive in gaining greynomads to visit. This is one of their attempts. Geocaching is another. This is one of many in the BRC for us to attempt.
After a break at lunch time, we were back in the geomobile to finish off the town caches.
Interesting building. Would live to know history. Easy find. Thanks Nedandmrskelly and sandshoo3

Hi there Nedandmrskelly.
We found your cache **"Alpha 4"** at 11:26:00 AM today. (This makes our find count 20309).
We started the day off by nominating a cache near Alpha, and then took a route that was mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area & ended up finding quite a variety of container types, and sizes hidden along our route.
We found 21 caches today & DNF'd 0. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Over the years, geocaching has taken me on many adventures, including interesting destinations all over my home continent of Australia and many overseas as well. It has also introduced me to a diverse group of like-minded caching tragics, many of whom I now call close friends.
Today, I was lucky enough to be out and about searching for caches, something I do on almost a daily basis. This was one cache that was targeted and found.
Sorry for the late and generic log, something I am notorious for. Thank you Nedandmrskellyfor adding to the adventure that is geocaching.

Half the team was in Barcaldine for the Queensland Outback Geocaching
Muster having fun catching up and of course finding some caches.
We joined forces with Geoturtle37 Papi4506 and micaparamedic to head to
Jericho for the event there. We left early so we could find a few caches
in Alpha before hand.
Unfortunately I can not remember the order we attacked this series so it
is hard to write a log about each one. I can say each cache was found,
some harder than others and they were all in good condition and each log
book contains our names.
Many thanks nedandmrskelly for showing us around Alpha and a great
series we will have to return to finish

Quick park and grab on day 4 of QOGM 18. thanks for placing these caches around here. Waiting for the event tonight at Jericho Hotel. TFTC.
I have been traveling a zigzag path to QOM, in Barcaldine. I have now met up with my regular caching buddy, so the SGx2 girls are back together again. Today, we are making our way from Emerald to Barcaldine, caching along the way. We enjoyed our tour around Alpha and the variety of caches and hides to be found here. This cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC

TFTC. We had caches in Alpha about 2 months ago when we were camped at Jericho with friends. We had planned on stopping in Emerald tonight but decided to make it a big travel day. We arrived in Alpha and decided to do the few dnf from last time and a couple we had left for other day. They were all found relatively quickly.
Walked over from our campsite to grab this cache ever so quickly. Another clean log. What a pity it isn't a FTF. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find. SL as SG as I often do in small logs to save space.
Good Day,
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

No luck for me today, I had a good look but chose to move on after a few minutes.
Hopefully it is still there, and very well hidden.

Another Alpha cache that eluded us. Searche all the obvious places to no avail.
We arrived in Alpha and decided to collect some smileys from the many on offer here. Not all were available for different reasons, but we did get a reasonable collection together. This one was a good one to find. Thank you to Nedandmrskelly with sandshoo3 for adding to the caching game.
#133 Found no dramas. All ok but log has been wet in the past. May need a health check.
A successful day out caching Alpha and a few others between there and home. We skipped one due to logs indicating it’s no longer there and muggles kept us away from a few others. Just the one DNF on the way home.

One day I will learn to read the cache notes first !!
And ruin all the fun of stumbling around searching in the wrong places [:o)]
So on me stroll,
of course I made a beeline for the obvious hiding spot.
I didn't fancy me chances of finding a micro here !! [:o]
Fortunately I trusted the GPS for once and before heading into the logpile,
looked nearby and found the cache
Ha !! One day I might actually get good at this geocaching stuff
