A little trip from Narrabri to see this nice little town. After geocaching we enjoyed the nice and warm bath. TFTC!
After our travels it was time to sell our Matilda the campervan and settle down in Narrabri for few months. On our day off from work we drove here to do some geocaching and enjoy nice day. Thank you for the cache!
I saved the easiest for last as I walked the trail in reverse. Beautiful scenery. TFTC
Stayed here overnight while enjoying the nearby artesian pool. Enjoyed the wander along the wetlands. Most hides where found after a short search. Loved the different containers and hides. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Many thanks to Coongoola for bringing me on this beautiful walk. Unfortunately, I do not have any spare logs. Can the next cacher help support our game in these remote places with a new log.
We stayed at the Pilliga bore baths overnight and I thought I’d check out the wetlands walk this morning.
It was lovely and peaceful and I could hear and see lots of birds. It was interesting reading the info boards. This cache needs a new log and I unfortunately didn’t bring a replacement with me. Tftc

Taking in the drying wetlands, I just saw the white winged fairywren. Very happy.
The cache is still there but the log is unsignable due to the flooding. I'm surprised it didn't wash away.

Tftc Coongoola, When we stayed at the bore baths here about 3 years ago before we were geocaching we did this walk.
It was a lot drier then.
Today there was some wet to the wetlands and a variety of water birds enjoying the location .
All caches were in good condition.
Thanks

Wow - this one has survived the floods, still dry, but the log is full.
Squeezed our name on.

TFTC. Who is afraid of horses? The 2 horses starting galloping around me. My heart missed a beat. A nice quick find after the horse episode. My husband just shook his head.
I travelled to northern NSW for some bushwalking at Mt Kaputar and took the opportunity to search out a couple of geocaches on my meandering route there. This cache was a reasonably straightforward find, hidden in an obvious position on the coordinates. A very clever container! It was quite muddy, which suggests that there has been a high flood flow through the wetland. Thank you coongoola for installing and maintaining this cache.
Nice cool breeze coming off the water with lovely scenery along the way.
Log book almost full.
Thanks coongoola for the cache.
Found at 1:28 pm on 28/1/21.

Found with Sophiescout on a short walk of the trail - time did not permit the full length. TFTC
I started out relatively early for me this morning and I was so glad I did. The walk is exposed and the sun was hot. Especially by the time I finished at 10:30. Thanks to excellent coordinates all caches were found .
A quick find and I was off to the next one. TFTC Coongoola

This one was lying exposed on the ground near GZ but Crafty Dusty spotted it and we returned it to where we thought it would most logically go. It was way too hot and prickly for us to carry on here so we reluctantly had to return to the car. Thank you for showing us the trail though!
Caching in and around Pilliga and surrounds we picked up a few caches and this was one of them.
A nice stroll around the wetlands, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks coongoola for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

We spot this cluster of caches on the map and were thrilled to see there was a walk involved. Our two favorite pastimes combined - geocaching and a nature walk.
So we decided to take a detour and travel from Narrabri to Gilgandra via Pilliga.
It was well worth the extra 40 kms. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and were surprised at how much water there is here. All the caches were easy to find and the info boards are interesting.
Be sure to cover yourself in insect repellent and wear a fly veil if you have one.
Thanks Coongoola for creating this trail and bringing us here.
A FP for the whole trail.

Heading south from Gundy geo-caching and camping. Took a detour to the Australian Telescope Compact Array, then another to the Pilliga hot artesian baths, and blow me down if there's not a whole series of caches here as well ! Camping at the bore, so headed out on the "wetlands" walk in the late pm. Got three well placed, maintained and accurately recorded hides. Thanks so much coongoola. We'll do a few more tomorrow hopefully
Day 3 of our epic journey to Cape York and the third day of our streak. We continued today with a series of easy little finds along the Pillaga Wetlands walk - a lovely stroll of about 4 km return. TFTCs
Hi there coongoola. We're currently camped at Burren Junction Borebaths, so today was a touring day between Burren Junction and Pilliga - a pretty easy day. This cache was a quick find and the container and the log are dry and in good condition. SL. Thanks to coongoola for this cache - our find #6660.
We stayed overnight at the campsite in Pilliga.
We’ve done this series as part of our plan to do a nice walking tour
Thank you for the cache

Strollin' along the small strip of greenery in the parched lands today,
I stopped to find this cache along the way
Times are tough out here at the moment !! [:o]
Drought has set in !!
Though if all the storms that have plagued me campsites over the last few days are anything to go by,
it might ease up a bit

We have camped here by the bore baths, a great location. Free swim in the hot pool. Wild horses in the paddock beside us & a kangaroo that came to drink from the creek.
Bill took his bike & completed the trail.
We stopped where it was suitable with the caravan on to find caches.
It was good to find such a variety of caches & hides along the way.
Thanks for placing this cache coongoola

TFTC! Beware the spider webs! This area is so dry, there's a little water in the creek but the earth is parched. I'm beginning to understand just how drought stricken this part of the world is.
We are touring Australia and caching as we go!
Spending a few days at the bore baths so thought we may as well do the wetlands walk while we are here. It's a little hot here this morning but we didn't let that stop us.
Found all the caches along the way. Thanks coongoola, your trail of caches is much appreciated!
Cheers from Canada!

While staying in Narrabri for a few days we decided to have a drive around the region and hopefully find a few caches on the way
A quick walk on a hot day in the Pilliga Wetlands. Even in the short time we were there we saw spoonbills, herons, ducks and magpies enjoying the beautiful area.
Wish we had time to do the complete walk.....hopefully another time in the future.
Thanks for showing us this area coongoola[^]

A peaceful spot to sit and view the wetlands though there's no denying the narrow seat is more of a perch than a long term seat. A novel little container that was soon found. TFTC coongoola.
Found with hodgee42
Grabbed all these ones at night before going to the bore. Good to see some caches in a small town like this. TFTC

Checked on this one while in town and it's all good. Dry as the day it was first published....
TFTC. We camped at the Bore after driving in from Dubbo yesterday. This morning we went for s short walk along the Wetlands track. After all the rain yesterday and earlier in the week the trail was muddy and we stood a couple of inches taller. Cache was a quick find.
Kids and I found it today! Great spot to let the run n pull up for a rest easy find!
Wow, lovely spot. My wife came to town to visit her ancestors at the cemetery and see where her grandfather grew up. FP from me
An easy find at a great spot. In town as my grandfather grew up here and my great great grandfather and a few other relatives are buried at the Pilliga cemetery. Lovely billabong, a FP from me.
Found with the geofamily while checking out the town where my great grandfather grew up. Very dry out here, except the wetlands! Didn't use the hot springs as the place was teeming with muggles. TFTC

We first heard about this cache a few months ago on our Mid North Coast NSW Geocaching FB page and were wondering how the heck coongoola were going to maintain this - do they have friends that live in Pilliga? Who the heck lives in Pilliga and why?
Anyway - we were on our way to Lightening Ridge and thought why not make a slight detour to Pilliga and enjoy the famous baths. So we did and were glad that we did make the detour. All the vans were closely packed in because the recent heavy rain had made the surrounding area a mess - but it was fine - except for that blasted mastiff next door that barked every time we got out of the van [B)] The baths were soothing and we even had a nice long chat to a lady about here problems
The cache was a joy to locate as the co-ords were spot on and the area was deadly still with water glistening all around us on the surface of the ground.
Thanks coongoola.
Feedback: Giving this a favourite as it opens up an area that has not been explored by geocaching people.

Yay! Woohoo! This was a (FTF) cache in a place we have not visited in a long while. We parked as close as we could to GZ and then walked in to make an easy find. Some muggles had left just a few minutes before so we had the place on our own. It was then a quick find in the only place it could be. Thank you coongoola for placing a cache in such a beautiful natural area and for bringing us back for another visit. We are giving it a favourite point as we do for all our {FTF} caches.
