Great cache! My gos was jumping around a bit but by looking around it was easy enough to see where I should be going. Cache is in suitably ancient condition, however log book is a bit damp. Ive take some of the wet swag cards to dry out and place somewhere else, and left a couple cool swags for the mini-cachers Mihi ki a koe mo te keteroki
This was the first cache for today and after a good search of the wrong area we tried the right area which, once I identified a good location, I came up with a good way to search. I spotted it but I decided to send my oldest son in for a look and he was quite surprised!FP from me for the cool container.T F T C dragon gem.I took the three little ones out for a walk, cache and ice cream this afternoon. In picking the caches I wanted a quick looking group with a good looking walk to them and picked these three. We ended up with two good caches found from the three attempted.
My sincerest apology to the neighbors who heard me caching, just on dusk and was not what I expected to see by torchlightI let out a scream which in turn scared my caching buddy.First cache that has given me that much of a thrill
I honest thought that my caching buddy was going to have a heart attack after finding this one. Going on dusk and search by torch plus finding this was a great combo. Tftc.
Another walk in a lovely location with tui singing in the trees. Cache quickly found and signed.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our first day in and around New Plymouth. The weather was gorgeous and there were a lot of people out and about.
This cache had been recommended to me as a fun one, and we were not disappointed. With accurate co-ordinates this was a quick find. TFTC.

#20968. This certainly was a fun hide! A pleasant walk and a quick find. TFTC.
Out and about on our bikes today, making the most of this glorious weather. Really interesting camo. Earns a fave from us. Cache is all good. TFTC
Was staying for a few days close by so decided to get this one. Interesting cache. Tftc
Yeah I probably tick off way too many off that list
It was a lovely stroll to GZ where the hiding place was quickly located and the cool container spotted.
Thanks for setting this up and the surprise when we found it.

On a road trip today with Mrs Rattll started off in the dark so would reach our first cache of the day as daylight hit. No muggles here today nice find log signed and cache placed back where found. TFTC
I had to use my head to figure out where this one was hidden. Great idea for a cache container. TFTC.
A really fun cache, and we were very impressed! We guessed at a similar but different cache container as we walked along but this was a great find and, of course, we awarded a favourite point. TFTC
What an awesome cache. I won't post a picture as to not spoil this for others but it's pretty neat.
Nice to be out caching with friends again. TFTC

Nice walk in the woods chatting to some friends. Nice to get back to caching after a torrid year. Tftc.
Mrs W.E.K.A. predicted what we would find at this cache, which was a quick easy find, and gets a favourite from these two head cases. TFTC
.Im sure a lot of us are head cases or this game will make us one in the end. Loved this one. Cheers. Fav from me.
Day 14 - Boxing Day, Thursday 26 December. Around New Plymouth again today then started moving north. .
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Ha ha! Love it. Gets a favourite!
Merry Christmas!
It's Boxing Day, day fourteen of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today we are rummaging around New Plymouth.
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!
***[======== NZ Mega 2020 ========](http://nzmega.com)***
Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

Gave me a bit of a scare. Really don't want to let a muggle see this one! TFTC
Thanks dragon gem for the cache. It’s #1158 for us. We found your cache on 24 December 2019. Nice hide with a surprise!!
Exploring this Te Henui tributary after a lunchtime gathering nearby. Pulled out the cache with an uneasy feeling... Mr D goes, that's an easy favourite. Lovely wee reserve here - thank you for showing it to us.
While there was a bit of sun i went out to locate this cache A bit wet all around etc but it was located, signed and returned. No muggles around while i was in the bush. this is a bit different and deserves a fav point from me. all was dry and well with the cache.
This is close to my house and I was saving it for a cold, wet, winter, dot day. Today was that day. It's a cool container and an all round good hide. A FP from me. Thanks.

I found this geocache while leading a group of young men who had chosen to go Geocaching for their end of year school camp. We left Hamilton on Tuesday 4th December and drove to Taranaki after plenty of stops along the way where we stayed and returned on Friday 7th. We went for quality over quantity finds and either went for highly favorited caches (many of which I had already visited on previous trips), caches from trusted CO’s and geocaches in interesting locations. The boys had a really positive geocaching experience despite the less than ideal weather and I hope they decide to keep up with their new hobby over the holidays and beyond. A big thank you to those who placed the geocaches we found and for maintaining them.
We took the boys for an evening walk for some caches and wisely left this to last. It was late enough that we needed torches to navigate to GZ and the boys got a thrill finding this well themed cache. A fav from me.

Out for a couple of caches today to fill in another day in my caching calendar.
Parked up on Heta Road to grab the two along this stretch of walkway.
I guessed what the cache container might be, but even so it brought a smile to my face.
Cheers.

Easy find. Got to gz and spotted the geo trail. As a Bogan I love this cache. \m/. Cool find. Drop 2 tb. Another fav. Tftc
Spending the night in New Plymouth after arriving here yesterday for work and decided that if I have a chance in between appointments I will go and have a look at a cache or two since I was in the area.
After finding GC4XHT6 - Livestreaming?! (Taranaki), I decided that since I was in the area I might as well go and have a look for this cache as well since it wasnt too far away and the track didnt look too bad.
Managed to get back to the track junction without any issues and then it was just a matter of carrying on the other track and make my way to GZ, was quite surprise that this track was just like a pram track and it wasnt too bad to walk, the walk to GZ was quicker than I thought and I was soon near GZ.
Making my way to the final 30 metres towards GZ, I just followed the Geocaching trail and was soon at GZ, had a quick look around and soon spotted something that needed a bit more investigation, upon doing this I soon realised that there was something strange going on here , well that was definitely clever.
After retrieving the cache, I managed to get the logbook and sign it and return it back as found, thanks for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (12596) now it was time to get back to the car and make my way to my next appointment.

Another cache to fill in one of our blank days on the caching calendar. I had originally planned to do this one after the weekly quiz at the nearby inn, but I found myself with a few spare minutes beforehand and as the weather was turning inclement I decided to go for it earlier than later.
A short walk got me to the right location and it wasn't long before I had the container in my hands. Getting it back into its spot seemed trickier than getting it out, for some unknown reason. Nobody around during the retrieval and signing, but I passed a jogger and a cyclist on the way out.
Thanks for the cache, a clever construction.

Managed to survive the family Christmas and now a chance to head away for a couple of days to New Plymouth with Mrs Dragon so that we can take a turn around the mountain and also make the most of the Pukekura Park Lights Festival.
Twenty Second of the trip and located while heading down and around the mountain for a bit of a scenic drive. By now the weather that we had started with was not the same as the weather we had at this point as the skys were now clear and the mountain magnificent.
A fine morning and an allowence for a few caches before breakfast is always a good way to start when out on holiday. A quick walk up the track and the cache was soon located. Poor Yorrah
Thanks for the placement and the cache

Nice hide, gave me a fright!
Our addition to the list would be..
You know you're a geocaching addict when a drive to a different town takes 3x as long because stop to get all the caches along the way.

Nice little walk on a track that we did not know was here in new plymouth. Hope the bag that the log book was new
Glad I didn't do this one in the dark, the cache would have made me jump, neat hide, neat container, a great little walk, walked the entire length of the path, in fact at the end of Karina Road it heads into another track and takes you to another cache, tftc dragon gem
I am one of those head cases....why else would one drive Stratford to Eltham (attend a cito) then drive Eltham to new Plymouth and then back to stratford in the hopes of picking of picking up 5 different cache types in a day to satisfy a project gc requirement....there may have been an expletive or two issues when I finally got my hands on it. A fav point awarded
Decided to have a Get Outdoors Day (G.O.D.) although only a short walk to this cache and its 'delightful' container. Is this for real? Most unusual. tftc dragon gem.
A lovely afternoon gave a window of opportunity for a quick find. Loved the container, especially given the cache name! TFTC
Back in the daylight and this became number 200. Love the alternative containers and also your choice of bag for the logbook. Fp from me.
Very neat! A quick walk to stretch our legs before heading to Waitara to grab some caches. Creative container! Tftc
Another dot day and this cache is very close to home, took the Landy in for a WOF and celebrated by going to find this cache, went in from below, nice little path, there used to be another cache near by. Cache soon found, very neat and as expected very unusual, I guess I am one of the head cases, so many thanks. This one is a wrap. Mission accomplished TFTC! Blenheim Bear

Found today with MissK101 & Crayrenee her first official cache. She's 7 and it gave her a fright. I retrieved it and left a diamond. Thanks for the cache.
How do you find these brilliant hide locations? Not to mention the container. TFTC gets a FP from me for both and for filling a dot day
After having failed getting the FTF in Waitara today, I was adamant to get this one. Plan was almost foiled by ctsniper86!!! Rushed all the way from Stratford to get this and a quick trip to new world to get batteries for my flat torch. There is a geotrail, due to the ivy. But none the less, I persevered. In the end got such a fright from the container my hand when attempting to uncover it jumped back!But yay, {ftf} Very nice hide! Thank you dragongem!
