Today Im heading into George Town to get some documents signed and then to the local post office to get some stamps, but as usual, Im taking the long way round. Being such a beautiful sunny day, its perfect for a country drive to take in the scenery and of course, find a few caches along the way.I didnt find all the caches in this series but I did enjoy reading about these Notable Tasmanians. I found this one as I did a couple of Taz actions and spun around like a lunatic, which helped uncover the cache TFTC GrumbligrotKeep smiling
We tackled this little series of caches today.
It was a bit hit & miss for us with finds on the ones towards the end.
This one was a positive and the cache was still there.

I thought I would do a few of this series this afternoon. I was surprised how busy the road was and after one not pleasant interaction from a farmer who was convinced I was here to steal sheep, I gave it away. No problems with this one despite a few blackberries.
Thanks for the series Grumbligrot

#12687 - 10:10:00 AM; Jumped through all of the hoops and made it to Tasmania for a couple of weeks of R&R with family. Decided on a mission to George Town this morning to tackle the NT Trail, thinking it would be a straight forward run along a quiet country road. WRONG! Managed to locate just over half the caches in the series (5 of 9), including this one. Avoided the blackberries which are slowly taking over near GZ to get the cache! TFTC Grumbligrot
Finally we have made it to Tasmania from the mainland. Hoping to cache along the way over our 2 week holiday. Although a little grey it’s not cold so we will be able to see a few things and do some walks
So happy to be here and looking forward to what we will find.

Out on the NT Trail and this first one nearly had me stumped at the very start but a search around and looking in some more obvious places I soon had the cache and was then on my way to the next one. TFTC.
After extensive searching this one could just not be found. With the CO’s permission a replacement cache has been put in place. All hints remain the same. Thanks for the cache!
Today before our departuree to the west we did first this trail.
We worked from #9 to #1.[^]
At the end we found them all.
Most of them in 10 seconds, some after minutes

Tassie Trip Day 211 - This was a great day to take on a the little trail whilst it was not too busy in the area the trail was soon completed and then it was off to the beach for a couple more and a great walk along the shore with the rest of the team staying in the Geo Vehicle and moving it to the other end of the area. I had an error in the head today that saw me use the wrong date all day it should be the 18 apr 19 but my pen wrote 17 apr 19 sorry but the electronic log is correct.
The trail begins proper and this was a nice quick find with some great information provided on the cache page. What a wonderful way to do a trail.
Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache for us to find along this trail.

Our final day enjoying Tassie, starting in Georgetown. We have loved the variety of coastal and inland scenery and walking tracks. This was a nice sized cache. Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache Grumbligrot. Visiting the George Town / Low Head area with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP for a couple of days. Thanks for this little series! The GeoGSP and I walked between some of the caches in this series to stretch our legs, whilst RLD4963 moved the geomobile. This was a nice easy find, cheers!
Out and about with Lil Rafa to get caches for the Hidden Creatures series, all the way to Low Head, we found, signed and replaced the cache, completing the find. TFTC TNLN log dry, cool nights but nice days. easy find with clues.
Travelling around the north picking up new caches since our last visit. This run has been fun on a glorious sunny morning. TFTC a fav point given
Day fourteen of our holiday in Tassie. Bettyboo3747 and I are staying at Low Head.
Time to get the deadly treadlies out, and short ride to the lighthouse before breakfast (and five caches)
A ride south collecting caches along the foreshore, then after lunch, some caches around George Town while the washing was on.
Of course Taz had to be No.1 on any list of Notable Tasmanian’s!
We started the trail while the washing was on, did two caches dashed back into George Town - chucked the clothes in the dryer and dashed back to complete the trail. Certainly made the job of washing a lot more interesting.
Thanks, Robmc.

#14424. Day 14 of our 3 week holiday in Tasmania. Robmc and I are still staying at Low Head so with dry weather forecast for a while we headed out on the bicycles to pick up a few caches around the area before going in to George Town for another caching run this afternoon (whilst our clothes were happy at the laundrette for an hour or so).
I keep calling this the National Treasures Series and Rob keeps telling me I am incorrect. Oh well, each to their own. Anyhoo, here we are at #1 and of course Taz needs to be first. He was even in the cache container this afternoon. Now off to #2 before returning to town.
Thanks Grumbligrot

Our last day of caching around the area and we had a few caches we wanted to get before heading back to Hobart! This just happened to be on the way so we thought we would pay a visit. I was looking forward in doing this little trail but then quickly remembered how we hate getting in and out of the car! We had to avoid the blackberry bush! I’m sure The devil would love this hide!!! Cache is in great condition.

Taz has always been a favourite WB character of mine
I've never quite worked out why he isn't black 'n' white though
Closer to home,
some Crackpot set fire to Taz-Mania this week !! [:o]
And on a bike ride today,
I found Taz's cache
TFTC ...
... I rode off in a whirlwind of spinning pedals [:o)]

Came out to go for a swim at Low head today and thought I’d do some caching. This trail is a nice and easy drive by one! Really enjoyed it TFTC
Hi there Grumbligrot.
We found your cache **"NT Trail 1 - Taz - The Tasmanian Devil"** at 9:39:00 AM today. (This brings our total find count to 18625).
We are currently staying at East Beach Caravan Park with family, so our geocaching this week will be more of a hit-n-miss effort between relaxing, eating, drinking and socialising. Today was a fine opportunity to attempt the "Notable Tasmanian" series. A very little known fact about a not so notable Tasmanian is that Bill Stuart (Ian's dad) was Princess Mary's maths teacher.
We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes on our journey today & had an absolutely wonderful drive. Our count for the day was 10 finds (& 1 DNF's).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape, but the prickles make it a little difficult to retrieve.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

A quick search at GZ and we soon had the cache signed and re-hidden and onto the next. Thanks Grumbligrot for providing this cache and the trail to a beautiful beach.
Back home after being in Tassie for a holiday, now the daunting task of logging all our finds, sorting through the scraps of paper with notes on them.
Had a few days of sunshine, a lot of days of rain, ended up with just over 105 finds all up on this trip, and visited many tourist spots in the north of Tassie.
found this cache after a quiet night in Lowhead
thanks to Grumbligrot for this cache series
sorry for duplicate logs

The last time we were in these parts we were chasing bits of another of Grumbligrot's epic magical mystery tours. Having had such a wonderful time with that we were not to be dissuaded from nabbing this series. Thaks Grumbli.
Out and about in George Town today to collect lots of caches published since our last visit and this was one we found. A good spot to place a trail. TFTC
After a great event by Grumbligrot it was only correct that we run off and find a few more of the CO's caches.
This little series a simple matter of stopping the car jumping out and after a short search we were adding our names to the log before jumping back in the car and rushing off to the next.
Thanks for the cache.

After the event we headed out to Georgetown international airport to do this series. A quick find here but I reckon the blackberries were as sharp as Taz's teeth! A steady hand was needed. TFTC
After a lovely lunch at the Pier Hotel we headed out to grab the 5 caches along this road. Pretty sure we grabbed one at the intersection during our last trip up here to watch Targa.
This one was quickly located and in good condition. Thanks.

Cut a deal with Loz, she gets to chase a few Pokemon Go, I get to chase a few real caches. All these kids out chasing virtual things with a gps, not aware that they are geocaching of sorts.. easy find, thanks..!!
Quick trip into Georgetown this afternoon, 5 new caches to find and has been a while since I've had a chance to get out here. Pretty quiet area, and a quick first find for the day
Thanks for the cache

Hi Grumbligrot
800 kilometres for 28 cache finds; 7 on day one of the trip and 21 on the second: just 1 GA cache, the rest were GCs - during the trip I logged my 3000th GC find.
Places visited on day 1: Campbell Town, Trevallyn, Legana, Exeter, Supply River, Deviot, Beaconsfield and George Town.
Day 2: Bell Buoy, George Town, Lefroy, Beechford, Young, Swan Point and Launceston.
This cache was the sixth on day two and the fifth and last find of the NT Trail.
Made a quick find.
The cache was Sainted and the log signed at 0827hrs.
Can't remember watching TAZ but remember seeing his all too famous "spin."
[Now all you have to do to make this a good series is add the name of an aged Tasmanian geocacher to the list and it's nearly completed! - LOL!!]
Thanks for the series and the info provided re each of these notable Tasmanians.
TFTC and cheers

Today we targeted this series and braved the rain and wind. Accurate co-ordinates led to an easy find. Thanks for showcasing these notable Tasmanians.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
We didn't see that this series of caches had been published until early this evening. With the adverse weather forecast we dismissed any possibility of looking for the caches this evening. However, the wind dropped and the rain stopped and we had a mad moment - we would leave home at about 22:00 and go to George Town. Apart from a couple of short periods of heavy rain, the driving conditions were reasonable and we got to the road on which the Notable Tasmanian caches were hidden at about 23:40. We managed to find two before midnight, two after midnight (continuing our streak into the 5th of June, day 92) but could not find the fifth one as the rain and wind returned.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. As there were no other entries in the logbook, we will claim {FTF} at 23:47. Thanks Grumbligrot for this cache and the series.
