Logged as KASA24 as kangas11 and I both had a second huge day today caching together at Mt Disappointment this weekend, and writing our team name instead of both our caching usernames saved us time. Kangas11 did the driving while I did the finding & writing in the logbooks. TFTC.

Domani all'alba partiamo per l'Australia... These Mt Disappointed caches have been on my to-do list since I started caching 2 years ago. Today, I finally made my way to find and sign Vic's 1st cache and with a few hours to spare before catching up with my sister. I thought it was now or never to start these epic caches. I didn't know how far I would get nor really what to expect.. This was one of the caches found today as l meandered across the mountain.

A trip to this region of the Australia was planned. In order to search and find a few caches here, various caches were dragged onto the Garmin. When we got here we saw a nice power trail. Without further ado, we organized various groceries to make ends meet. Filled up the rental car again and off we went. Our 4 WD-Truck is ready for this trip! After some time of starting this challenge, we came across here as well. We had to search a little longer for one or the other cache. Thanks to the owner for laying, caring for and guiding. TFTCKind regards from Germany ????

Waking up in Rutherglen this morning, it was raining cats and dogs. So we decided to head south where the skies were clearer and attack some more of the Mt Disappointment series. We had been here a few years back and did a chunk of them, so it was good to be able to revisit today and knock off a heap more. We only have a small handful left plus the challenge caches left up here to do after this trip.

A lot of the older caches need some loving, the logs were pretty bad at some of them but it was great to see a heap of original containers (loved the ones with the engraved lids). We were fortunate with the weather here, only one small shower and the roads were in pretty good condition. Seen lots of muggles with their trailers and chainsaws which was concerning (being there are allocated firewood collection points for muggles).

Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando, apologies for the cut/paste logs, glad to be able to get some more smilies up here. Thanks for the fun day out in the mud FFLL Big Grin

It was pouring rain when we woke this morning so Rapidlywild and I decided to head up to Mt. Disappointment to hopefully get out of the rain and try to finish off this trail that we had started a few years ago. We were lucky to have a clear day with one quick shower while on the trails. A successful day although we still have a few to go as well as the challenges, we will be back one day.

This trail could really do with a maintenance run and some TLC. But there are also still a lot of original caches here too which was good to see.

Thanks for the trail carkisser & JSando and thanks Rapidlywild for a fun and busy day.

Find number 9741 at 1:51:20 pm on Thursday the 11 November 2021
Out to grab a few geocaches to bump up my total as I’m approaching 10 years of geocaching and I’m just shy of 10,000 geocache finds, can I make the milestone on my anniversary, I’m damn sure going to try.
An early start from home had me arriving at the first cache at 8:15 am and I headed for home after my last cache at 2:20 pm. Six and a half hours on the road for four hours geocaching. Once I finish these logs I’m going to need a glass of wine Wink
Visited 112 Mount Disappointment geocaches today, found 108 and didn’t find 4, a good day by all accounts.
All geocaches were found in generally good condition except where noted otherwise.
**Thanks for placing this cache carkisser**

Needing to be in Mansfield early tomorrow, LittleBoss2 and I decided to head to Mt Disappointment to try to grab some of these amazing caches dedicated to Carkisser's Dad.
We had a great day where the aim was to see if LB2 could nab 200 caches in a day, which she did. So many great caches, accurate coords and great hints made for a very successful day with only one dnf.
Our thanks to Carkisser and JSando for making our day so special

Beautiful day and thank you for placing the caches. Will be back to finish them off.

Day two of our drive around this area. Getting very familiar with the tracks around here too.
Working our way to Broadford for late lunch.
Quite ironic that on Easter Sunday we are signing logs below the beautifully hand written logs of The_Easter_Bunnies.

Found at 12.30 pm. Another fine day for a forest walk with my dog, I am combining finding a few caches together with exploring some of the smaller 4wd tracks in the area to make a loop walk.
Since the caches are very similar, I will make this note a generic one and change the time of the find. Only saw 2 cars today, very quiet during the week.

We had been to My Disappointment once before on a challenge to do 100 caches in one day. Well, today we had a goal to try for 200 caches in one day. It had seemed like a great idea, but we got out of the house late and didn't make it to out first cache (#271) until 8.26am.

One might ask, why endeavour to do 200 caches in one day? Well, at the start of the new year Tally Tiger made a new years resolution: Team ZACAATT would find 1,000 caches in one year. So, we thought, why not get a head start while we still have time!

Well, not everything went to plan and we only found 150 caches. (Not a bad endeavour, but not our ultimate goal). Google lead us on a very round about route that we had not expected. We drove up, a sleepy geodog resting his head on AngéliqueAnja's lap most of the way up.

We arrived at the first cache and averaged about twenty caches an hour, where we found cache after cache. While many were wet or soggy, even a little moldy we found all but one despite GPS that would jump all over the place, leading us up and down in some places as we relied on geosenses to help us find the cache! 150 caches and only 1 DNF seem like a pretty impressive feat.

Thanks for the cache. carkisser & JSando

With permission of the team member who was in the local hospital we decided on a day our this time with a goal of collecting 150 finds for the day which will if achieved will be our best caching day and after spending the day collecting cache after cache we ended with 151 finds and 3 DNFs so it was a rely good outing today.

Sorry it is copy and paste logs most were nice quick finds some proved a little more difficult however most we very easy finds and some require a little attention from the owner for wet logs with it being a good day as it was cool to start and didn't get over hot during the day we managed to make the goal of 150 finds with 1 extra just to be sure.

Thanks carkisser & JSando for placing this series for us to make such an assault to collect so many caches on one day.

It has been quiet awhile since I was last up here so I made the decision to to come up early this morning and tackle a bit more of the series starting at #52 and seeing where I end up.
It was nice and cool this morning but the sun came out and warmed up the place.
The roads were quiet as well with only the occasional car passing by.
I have ridden, driven and walked a lot of the tracks around here and have even stayed at No 1 camp a couple of times, I just love this place.
Due to the logging in the area these roads are in great condition and a pleasure to drive, but I must admit I have missed seeing a couple of drains while pulling over, the poor Mitzi is getting a hard time due to me.
You guys have done a great job in putting this series out and keeping up the maintenance as well as I know that can be a lot of work.

Thanks carkisser & JSando TFTC

We love this series so a big thankyou to the CO’s for your time and effort in keeping up the maintenance. Teamed up with CorianderConnected during the school holidays with 3 kids in the back and the 2 geo-dogs (Minks & Poppy). With a record 102 finds in one day over 5 ½ hrs, & 4 DNF’s it was an awesome day that we had been looking forward to for months.

Today I headed out to complete the Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson series of caches. I really enjoyed coming up here again and its a really amazing place to take your time to find the caches and take in the serenity of the area. I'm pretty sure I found all of the remaining caches in the series and finally cache #62 which had become my Mt Disappointment nemesis.
It's an amazing area to explore and if you get the chance to camp the night as well I highly recommend it. There's plenty great areas to pitch a tent.
Thanks for the caches and for bringing me up here again.

09-May-19
After a lot of planning over the last few months, the day had finally come to get stuck into this series. I followed the route I had worked out without being sidetracked and everything went pretty much as I had hoped. I made my first find at 7:10am and the last for the day at 6:15pm. By 7 o’clock I was sitting in the Red Lion in Kilmore enjoying a cold beer and thinking back over a most enjoyable day. There was of course the odd DNF along the way as well. The weather was kind to me which helped a lot as well. A big thanks to carkisser & JSando for placing this and maintain this series. Cheers and TFTC

Thanks for the cache.

***NO CLUES OR HINTS IN THE FOLLOWING TEXT***

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.
I’m currently working on a Project-GC challenge to get the average word count on my logs over 200 words.
So please ignore the rest of this log as it is just nonsense and song lyrics.
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

Dad’s Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson Run Number Two.

Well after a much later than anticipated start the Inspectorrex team got to work where we left off. Starting at cache # 138 and made it thru to cache #227 which was the end of a string and a long to go back to get to #228. As light was fading fast Along with a couple of side caches not related to this series. Apologies for the generic logging however these caches were all logged in the evening after the days caching was completed. A very big thankyou to carkisser and JSando for setting up and maintaining this wonderful power series. We will be back in May to complete some more of the series.
Thanks for the Caches from the Inspectorrex team.

Great day out with Team Justice, successfully completing this wonderful series in a day. The challenge has appealed to us for a long time, and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to complete it. Throughout the day we often marveled at the size and quantity of the containers you must have had at home in order to lay these out. Thanks so much carkisser for this astonishingly ambitious and well executed series. We loved it!

A plan was hatched with Clint & Abby over 12 months ago when we saw these caches come out over time. We could get 100, nah, let’s get them all and soon after a few drinks we decided to attempt the lot in 1 day. Time passed and somehow we found ourselves talking about it at a recent event (yes, and more drinks). Let’s do it after Christmas, ok. So, we meet in Wallan at 6am to begin the long day.

We had a few ideas to speed up our caching given we were trying to find 300+ caches in a day and that our previous record was about 60 in a day so this was going to be tough. We put the GPS and pens on lanyards do we could keep our hands few when getting the cache and didn’t have to pick up or get things out of our pockets. We did shifts of 1 hour, so one person did the driving, ate, re-hydrated and relaxed, while the other cached for the hour. The driver also provided the clue up front between caches as the cacher counted the distance down to the cache.

Now to the clues. Tree, stump, log, rock! We were getting a good chuckle over the clues, ‘beside tree’, we are in a forest! We found some of the ‘logs’ were not yet logs (i.e. trees), but they were close most of the time. We thought there might be some sort of random clue generator sometimes.

To the numbers. 330 caches attempted in 10 hours and 22 minutes. We had 7 DNFs and a total of 323 finds. This meant an average find time (including DNFs) of 1 minute, 53 seconds. We were quite amazed at the speed we could go and how quick you could find, sign and move on. It also comes down to the great containers laid out by carkisser for this power trail. Nice and large, and easy to find and extract the logs. We only came across one Eclipse time late in the day. Our biggest hour of finds was our 5th hour of 42 finds. This averaged out at 1 minute and 25 seconds per cache.

Overall, we had a great time as it was a challenge to push ourselves to get all these caches. We loved the layout and the effort to place all these caches. Thanks so much to carkisser for the caches.

I had a great day out today after LouLou0212 and myself picked Gabs1963 up for the airport. We headed to “Melbourne’s First” and then onto this trail as Gabs1963 has cached our her 450km radius, so she wanted some “easy numbers”. Thanks so much for placing this trail carkisser

After Becknmonts and I picked gabs1963 up from the airport we headed out to start our day, a beautiful quick stop at Melbourne’s first before we headed to start this trail, thanks so much for putting theses caches out, I really enjoyed them - definitely a first for me getting my geo car off the road and on some dirt - TFTC carkisser

TFTC. Our friends Jackie and Dennis (Muff1)had invited us to join them in making an assault on Mt Disappointment. We drove up on Sunday to Kilmore to join them. After putting a dent in the Mt Disappointment trail yesterday, our aim today was to finish the trail. We had an added incentive. We were close to 5000 finds and there was the pooibility we could track 200 finds for the day. The weather forecast did not look great but the weatherman was wrong . Muff1 had spoken to the CO and made arrangements to replace any caches that were missing. They will contact they CO with details of any issues we found along the way. We had a great time . We replaced 7 missing caches. We had never visited this area before and the trail gave us an appreciation of the area. Thank you carkisser & JSando for a great series.

We arrived in the area with a particular plan and that was to do the Dad's Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson trail. All caches were found or replaced (with the permission of the owner) Some still need the logs replaced but we ran out of supplies.
This trail was done with Hans and Linda, the jumping in and out of the car was shared, the driving was shared, lunch was had on the trail where ever we found a place that appealed to us.
Some shots were fired near one of the caches which startled the crap out of us. We did not think that you were allowed to shoot here. The roads were a mixture of good, bad and ugly. Thankfully it was dry it did try very hard to rain but all we saw was not enough to wet the car or us.
We apologise for the generic logs, this does not mean we thought any less of this series. We appreciate the effort that has gone into placing this trail and maintaining it, this is why we were more than happy to help with some maintenance.

I was driving home from an event in Shepparton, and my reason for having to get home quicker then originally planned evaporated so I decided to grab one or 2 of these while kind of in the area, just a slight detour really...LOL. So I ended up collecting numbers 272 to 287 and 204 to 195. So I am slowly collecting them all bit by bit. This must make it about 270 in total. Unlike everyone else I wont apologise for the generic logs because thats just life in the power trail world, so rejoice. But a big thanks for all the effort you have put in. TFTC

Away for a long weekend of caching with Freddo and Four Fun.

Over 300 caches in 4 days means that the logs will be mainly generic.

The main target of our mission was to finish off the Mt Disappointment series. We achieved our target along with other caches as we headed east and then west.

My apologies for the generic logs.

Logging a find as part of the 4FW crew for this giant series. A lot of work has gone into putting this series together. Thanks to Dad and your helpers. All caches were found and logged. The driving was a lots of fun on a beautiful day.

*25 Aug 2018, Found @1:46 pm, Find # 1939.*

Needing to smash out a few caches to get me closer to another milestone I thought I would target this series. The aim for today is to get to that magical 120 number. We are working our way through these quite quickly making our target even closer with each find. Easy find log is dry but the bag is ripped.

**Thanks to carkisser for placing this cache.**

#3262 A big day of caching with the aim to collect big numbers and collect a bunch of souvenirs. The geohounds tagged along for the adventure. A cool day with the temperature floating around 7-9 degrees, but much fun had. A handful of dnfs but lots of finds. We found the coords to be pretty good, a few damp logsheets but no trouble signing. Thanks for all the effort carkisser and JSando.

My second visit to Mt Disappointment after attempting the early part of the series a couple of years ago. There are certainly a few more to choose from this time around and even though I’d brought cold weather gear with me I had a beautiful sunny winter’s day to explore. I practically had the place to myself for a few hours, only seeing one other car the whole time. Plenty of bird life around and active because it was so quiet while I was foraging around at various stops looking for caches. Speaking of foraging there was an abundance of different types of mushrooms and I took a bit of time photographing them along the way as well. I successfully completed every hide I stopped at today although a few took a bit longer than others. Interesting how some segments have a similar but slightly different style of hide from when they must have been placed at different times. Thanks for all the efforts that have been put into this large series. Until next time.

Back up at Mt. Disappointment today finding caches with the LalorBrennan's. In total there were 4 adults and 5 children under 10. I know that most people would think that we were mad to spend a cold, wet and windy day up on the mountain with so many young kids but we have always had fun up here, so much fun that none of cared what the weather was like.

In all I think we found 107 caches (it may be 106 but I am always the optimist), with only a single DNF. But the numbers have never mattered to us. All that matters is the kids, and us oldies had an absolute ball.

It was also nice to get out with the LalorBrennan's, after all it was them who introduced us to this great game. As my kids are now (their words, not mine), experts in geocaching it was fun listening to them instruct the others kids, especially the younger two, on the finer points in our great game.

To carkisser and JSando, I feel our thanks are never enough for all the hard work you put into our great game. You know that we always try and and give you a great log but I am really sorry this time for the generic cut and paste job. Certainly the drinks are on me next time we catch up. On our next visit to the mountain I will make it up to you guys.

Starting to rain again so we signed the log in the car to keep the log dry.
Nearly there, you must be sick of reading my logs, if you even bother to do so

Hume and Hovell were wrong. Red Face This place should be called Mt Rewarding. Cool This was my 3rd visit here with Cybergran V and with the days haul of 102 finds (including 3 randoms) we now have 199 of this series completed and (when logged) all 13 virtual souvenirs currently on offer in the bag. Big Grin Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou carkisser & JSando for this amazing opportunity to crank the numbers when most needed. RazzCoolBig Grin

This was one epic series, it had it all, easy finds, tougher finds, lots of dirt road driving, steep hills, bush bashing, open logged forest, deep dense forests and a leech or 2 to throw in the mix. Both me and TheSkype traveled from the ACT to cache in Victoria and this series certainly is one to bump up the tally which I personally believe is only for die-hard cachers. Do not bring a newbie here, it might get tough, zap their mind and they might never want to cache again. We camped at Andersons Garden campground and this was our base for the 3 days we spent caching. Thanks again pleasure to do business and explore this historic part of Victoria. TFTC. Day 2

#2614 Found at 3.00pm with the Green-martian, both visiting from Canberra. Geocached in a 4x4 Outback for over 16 hours, over 3 days. Averaged 20 finds per hour hitting 30 finds an hour between #206 to #235. Found a total of 323 caches with several DNFs. What a marvel it was finding this series. All park n grabs with the car and GPS covered in dust. Weather was warm for April. Thanks carkisser & JSando for this epic series of caches.

We decided to have a stab at 100 caches in a day and we did not arrive at the first GZ until 1310. We had a bit of a struggle in the beginning but ended with a good run. We thank the cache owner for the effort. 102 caches in total where number 244 was my 2000th cache. Thanx

During a little warm-up here earlier this week I found about 65 caches in one afternoon. Today I returned for a full day effort, starting at 8am and stopping at 6:30pm having covered about 100km. Without rushing too much (all logs were signed and dated in full, caches rehidden properly, and photos taken of every GZ and logsheet) I ended up with 230+ finds for the day which is a surprising record for me Smile.
Other than a shaky start near the residences (5 DNFs in the first 11) the rest went pretty well as I searched for them in numbered sequence from #1 to #240.
All were found easily other than #4,7,9,10,11,15,37,62,79,142 and 158.
It was nice and quiet on the trail all day - just saw 2 other cars and 2 police patrols on a mild dry sunny day. Perfect caching conditions.
Thanks for the cache and the series, carkisser and JSando.

There was a dog in a zebra boot near GZ. Really!

Thanks carkisser and Jsando for another day of fun and adventure at Mt Disappointment.

It was an absolutely beautiful day for caching, not too cold and not too hot in the shade of the forest.

We had been meaning to get back up here for a while but with the added incentive of a limited edition pathtag only for those completing Dad’s Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson we packed the car early this morning and headed north.

The plan was to hit Mt Disappointment and try to break our previous record of 61 caches in a day (set you know where!).

Being very OCD , we like doing things in order, so we aimed to pick up our 2 previous DNF’s and then continue on where we had left off last visit at #181.

We set off early (for us!) and we were on the trail by 10.30..but you know what they say about well laid plans… it wasn’t going to be the day to break our record.

We managed to pick up one of the DNFs and not the other and complete 42 more of the trail by 1:30pm, before Mrs P noticed one of the tyres on the geomobile was a little flat. Thinking we had a slow leak we thought we had better head into town and pump it up.

We got off the mountain and stopped to see how things were holding up, but by now the air was gushing out and we had a genuine flat.

The handy Mrs P, plowfive’s cache builder, soon had the tyre changed (well not soon really as we had to empty the back of the car of plowfive's caching supplies, changes of clothes, water, drinks, food.. to lower the spare down) , with only a little help from Mr P.

Even changing the tyre was fun, the first we have had to change ourselves in this car which we have had for over 10 years!

We had a great day despite not getting our personal best caches in a day. We will of course be back sometime soon to put another dent in it.

Apologies for the cut and paste log today, but to spice things up we will post a picture taken somewhere on the trail today for every log.

Thanks for such a well maintained fun power trail!

We had planned to meet yp with McLookers, alansee, Goodlook and Micaparamedic so that we could all finish this series.
After staying at Broadord overnight where we had a bit of a mouse plauge at our accomodation we decided to use the name "mice" to speed things up and also save room on the logs.
We planned our route so that the caches were all on the left as we made our way around the area. We started off finding the containers very quickly, as we got closer to the end they seemed more and more difficult to locate, probably due to the heat and the fact that we were starting to get tired by then.

We do thank you for all the time and effort that has gone into placing this series and we realise that it needs better than a generic log but when you do so many in one day the all tend to blend into each other but we can say that we had a fantastic day.

We had dnf's on 184, 241 & 252
and at the ned of the day we only have sixteen left to find

Many thanks carkisser & JSando for placing these caches.

Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, McLookers, Good Look and myself were on a quest to get the rest of these caches. We found all bar two and those ones it turns out had been found recently so so was just us. Many thanks to carkisser and JSando for all the fun!

A quick find today.

We had planned a group trip to pick up the remaining caches in this series that we hadn't already found. Today with Alansee, Team Crackers, Good Look and micaparamedic we got an early start as we knew it would be a hot day. We signed the logbook as MICE...I will leave the others to tell the story of its creation!! Thanks carkisser & JSando for a terrific series with good co-ords and some stunning views.

Apologies for the late log. My family were away on a trip to New Zealand so I had a few caching excursions during that time. This was the final day of their trip and I had to be at the airport at 8pm to pick them up. So a big day of caching was planned with SirJ-Oz and LouiseAnn with the second half of the Mt Disappointment caches in our sights. 133 finds in total for us today and I can only apologise for the generic log on the majority. Most finds were pretty straight forward with accurate coordinates. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for a great series in an awesome location carkisser & JSando. I accumulated a heap of favourite points and had a great day out with my caching buddies (who are much more diligent than me at taking notes and photos on specific caches). My biggest contribution was getting my car nice and dirty.
