Tamworth and Amrmidale Trip March 2020. Day 3. I headed north with Fitzy_1965 along the New England Highway towards Tamworth. Today we headed out to do caching trails around Tamworth to the North. The day was mostly roadside caches, but they were all of differing levels of challenges, especially when you have to deal with Farmers Friends and Stinging Nettles at almost ever cache.
Thanks.

20,421. Found with albida33 during a meander up to and around the Tamworth and Armidale regions.
Day 3 of our trip. Headed out after breakfast for what turned out to be a big days caching. We aimed to hit some of the trails around the region. Next stop of the day, and a quick find was made. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one.
TFTC Whitey Wiskas !! Neat place for a cache !

Day 30 Mainland trip
Out and about caching around Tamworth and surrounds with Tassie Trekkers and this was one we found. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the rural drive. The standard of hides and creativity of some were fantastic. We enjoyed the artwork on show. TFTC

An easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Day 3 and last in Tamworth this time round, need to now head to Goulburn to meet up with a few cachers heading to the QBN Mega. Another overcast day keeping pleasant to drive around the area. Great sculptures here and we waved for the cameras. Container is broken and will need replaced.

Happily we were able to find this cache while around this scenic area. We started early and finished late to get as many as possible. Nice to see well maintained caches. Thanks to Whitey Wiskas for hiding this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
I felt a bit uneasy at this one.
Lucky it was a quick find but could not sign as the container is broken and log is soaking wet.

Hi there Whitey Wiskas.
Today was a drive from Tamworth to Moonbi Lookout (and return), logging caches along the way. The caches we found were all well placed, and the for the most part had pretty accurate coordinates. We can see that a lot of thought has gone into the placement of all the caches we found today.
All up we found 21 caches & DNF'd 3 in this cache run. Thanks for placing the caches. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Too wet to sign.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** A gold coin.
Regards
Ian & Penny.

After spending the night in Tamworth, it was time to continue my journey. I made my way to this cache. It took a while to locate this one, but some help from the tenant soon saw me signing the log. I spent quite a while chatting before continuing on my way. TFTC
A stroll up the road brought me to this museum of sorts
But the stars are the horses
Smiling for the camera,
I soon had this cache found
Amazing the sights that lie out of view of the highway

This took a minute or two longer than it should have. Had a closer look at the first place we tried and there it was. Going cache blind I am? Thanks Whitey

As we started looking for this cache the lady in the house came out to let us know we were looking in the wrong area - at the same time I looked around and spotted the container. We had a bit of a chat before heading off to the next cache.
Travelling through Tamworth and staying for a couple of days. Due to the number of caches found I am doing a generic comment. Enjoyed the towns, villages and countryside and also the caches that have been placed. Thank you very much to the CO.

On our way home from the Oz geo Muster (MEGA) at Morisset and only going as far as Armidale today so plenty of time to indulge in my third best past time.
( Eating Chocolate and going places with Mrs YOF being #1 and #2).
Parked along side of GZ and soon had the cache in hand. The log sheet is full both sides so I have replaced the log sheet with a rite in the rain log sheet. Signed log sheet YOF as this is what I use on small log sheets to conserve space on the paper. TFTC Whitey Wiskas.

Day 3 of the road trip to the OZ Geo Muster Mega.
Caro and I started the day in Armidale and headed off just after 9am.
We had different goal so headed off in different directions but met up again in Tamworth later in the day.
I head straight to Tamworth finding the odd cache along the way, this being one of them. [^]
A little stop and detour to find a couple of caches in town.
A short search before spotting this one. Interesting art work here.
Thanks for the cache.

Now here is a structure that would look a lot better if it was painted red! Like the Mobil flying horse one as well.
Thanks Whitey Wiskas.

Chose a rest area to camp overnight, left the caravan behind & went out to cache in the area.
The wattle is blooming giving a nice display of green & gold.
Looks like somebody does some very clever metal work around here.
Cache quickly found & logged.

Had a great time at the Alice Mega and now on the homeward stretch so still looking for caches along the way. We may sign small log sheets as CG.
Met Warren who is the artist and had a great chat with him but sorry we couldn't stay for the cuppa he offered. Left a caching card for him to look up on the Internet about Geocaching.
Thanks for the cache Whitey Wiskas.

These people are very talented, we would love to be able to talk to someone about the artwork but alas there was no one around. SL TFTC
Nice little drive up to Moonbi today might as well as grab some caches too.
What awesome structures, lots of work has been put into them.
Thanx for bringing us out here. TFTC cheers
Found by Mary & David at 1000. A fascinating place. We love where caching is takes us. A quick find here. Our thanks to Whitey Wiskas.
Happy to quickly spot the cache as the rain continued. An interesting collection with some quirky pieces but the little dude on the fence steals the show. TFTC Whitey Wiskas.
Found!! And great timing, a brand new geocache just as were passing through! Thanks
Found quickly this morning. Looks like Whitey re-cycled the log sheet as there were already maybe a dozen names stretching over several months, yet this was a new cache listing, so I am claiming a FTF. TFTC
