**21,894**Well, the course is well and truly finished now and a truly exceptional looking course it seems to be. Mr Geckoh was almost drawling, wanting to know what the Green Fees were like. A nice quick find here. TFTC
Well this is certainly the rich folks road. The street before this was gravel and this is a nice tar sealed road in great condition. A very empty road today so I parked on the roadside to grab this. Lots of golf carts on the golf course today. I didn't see anybody walking the course. This was a quick find in the obvious place. Thanks for another cache to get my numbers up today
New waterproof log sheet in - eclipse tin rusting up but holding together ok - The golf course is looking better now than when I placed the cache - Progress !!
Progress Report...................I have been in the car with my dad for over an hour and haven't left him at the side of the road yet. That is progress. It looks like the golf course is complete and is being well used going off the number of cars that passed us at the cache by the end of the road. A quick easy find in the obvious place. Another cache filled with empty bullet shells. Is this something to worry about around here, I thought stray balls might be my biggest problem?
Found it nice and quickly but there were 3 wasp nests around it so I spray them with poison and I needed a stick to get the cache out
We guessed where this would be, and had a very thorough search, but after seeing the recent DNF as well, we concluded it was missing. Tramyard had a container ready to go and I had some RITR log paper so we replaced it for the CO. And as for a progress report: despite the lack of cache, there is a finished golf course here now and it looks like the golfers were enjoying it today. Thanks for bringing us here!
Found it while doing the Smiles Geo-Art series with lumin298 on the last day of Queen's Birthday long weekend. Also I would like to mention we had "great" weather despite a very pessimistic forecast.
Actually we already finished "Smiles" and still some daylight left so we decided to grab a few more while in the area.
An interesting spot! Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC

A quick find but there was a small paper wasp nest nearby so I knocked it off, much to the disgust of the wasp that I didn't realise was hanging out in it.
A good day was had today this Sunday! I shot up to Orewa to meet up with a mate of mine Wayne, he’s just got out of hospital after some foot surgery, so I decided to visit him and get some caching done in the process. Initially he wasn’t able to do breakfast, so I carried on caching, later he rang back and said how about lunch? So we met up at the Ship n’ Anchor pub and grabbed a feed and a few wines.
I guessed right alright, but still took me a moment or two to find the cache! Looked in the more obvious of the obvious spots before having to check less obvious of the spots and that's where I found the cache! All good here today. Keep your feet dry here people, it's damp behind the obvious spot.
Golf course up and running big time.

Wanted this lonely cache as a find today and soon arrived alongside GZ for a search. After checking a few permutations the cache was found and replaced same.
After a quiet morning at home and local on Sunday morning the weekend cabin fever was building and a desire to head out 'anywhere' was the plan. And so it was that the Exploding Snuffbox enigma was finally found and finished, followed by a 'local loop' to Wainui/Stillwater and home! Just a half dozen finds but a couple were over a year since last found, 2 years for one of them.

Out earning some smileys with PageNZ today. Stopped here to make a nice quick find. Be careful of at least 2 small wasp nests near the cache. TFTC
Some road changes here, we set off down the wrong road only to find the entrance to a new gated estate. Got there in the end, after a short search the nicely hidden cache was discovered, thanks
Met up with an old friend this morning and then headed out this way for a spot of caching. No luck, and was sprung by a muggle runner. Decided it was time to move on.
Out and about in the Orewa/Wainui/Riverhead areas today picking up the odd outliers in my system.
This looks like it has all finished with a lot of golfers out and about.
Cheers for the cache.

Quite a few golfers around the course today, and the club rooms look like a great place for them to enjoy a drink at the end of the day TFTC.
Yes to the guess. We can report that all is in order and functioning well for Ye olde course.
Out and about for a spot of cache detection today. Good weather for it. Anyway, decided to kick things off with a drive in the country. I parked up next to GZ and made an instant find of the hide. I spied a wasp's nest near the cache so I dealt to that before departing. Re: Progress; There were a number of persons following the little balls around the field today. Cheers for the cache placement!
Yay this is my 100! Just had lunch to celebrate in the clubhouse, lovely meals with a great view!!
Was in the area smilying up all the local greenies and made a quick PnG here. No need for guessing, went straight to it. TFTC
#171 excited to find this course and the road to the cache was a nice wee tour of it. Looking forward to coming back with the club's, TFTC!
Seems fully operational. The clubhouse was open and people golfing. Nice hide. Thanks!
Heading North for the weekend and decided to take a few back roads to avoid the traffic and so I could find a couple of caches. A quick find, help CB was dealing to the new smell our mini cacher had created. Thanks for the hide.
A few groups out today playing golf, but they paid me no attention as I quickly grabbed this cache. TFTC
Looks fully active to me. Not being a golfer I can think of other used for this land but the richer win out.
I stopped doing weekly progress reports when I became a full-time cacher, so you will need to stop by yourself if you want to see the completed golf course. TFTC.
We were in the area and had collected a puzzle series nearby, and thought we would grab a few more on our way home. A nice quick find here with purply and darthcacher1.
There was a paper wasp on the cache container that we had to remove before we could retrieve it. then it was a quick sign and return to its hiding place.

There sure is a lot of work going into making this new golfing facility. Thanks for showing us.
Nice looking golf course if you like that sort of thing but certainly not how we remember this area looking. Nice quick find. Thanks
Yet another third to find ! How exciting !
Easy find , even though pitch dark here tonight !
Thanks TheWonderStuff !

Had seen the publications last night for this area but decided they were far too far away to go for. Usually I would delete the emails but knowing I had today off I left them 'just in case'.
Dropped the children off at school and took a quick look - no logs yet....had they not been found as yet or had they just not been logged. Looked at the motorway app to see traffic not currently too bad so thought I would take a little drive.
Well what to say about this one...took the longer route to arrive as the shorter was blocked by roadworks. Had an initial idea as to where it would be but came up empty. Went around in circles and thought 'this shouldn't be so hard' what am I missing before returning to original plan still nothing. And then suddenly there it was right in front of me in a spot I'm sure I had checked! Nice and easy after all. Quick formalites after that as I could see some of the workmen heading over this way on the other side of the road and I was off again.
Thanks for the cache.

Having conceded there was no opportunity left for any FTF's it took the pressure off hunting the remainders. Club house is looking very flash - certainly compared to what is at the Peninsula GC. May just enjoy some wandering around this new facility in the future. TFTC
Peninsual Golf Club's new golf course. Looking forward to playing out here. The old course has only nine holes operating. New sub-division is being built on the lower part of the old course opposite Red Beach shops.
