Physical geocache removed. By my parents house which is 3.5 hours drive south from my home. Will look to do a new on when I'm down there next.
Description and hint leave little doubt about where to look, but didn't find the cache.
Was in the area today for the first time in a long time after logging a DNF. Nothing here as had information from CO as to location. Will keep an eye on it.
Did usual due diligence. Visited with team cacher zboy wonder. But no luck for us at this one.

Day six of my wee road trip and today it was all about the Earthcache. Woke bright and early in Rotorua and came up with a plan and route to gather up a few Earthcaches in the area, before heading for home.
Was driving past and remembered that there was a cache here that I couldn't look for on my last trip because of the amount of muggle cyclists about. Vaguely remembered the listing, as I hadn't added it to my offline list and was pleased to find the cache easily, but the log is now wet and I couldn't sign it. TFTC

This container has lost its lid. The log was dry and loose so I surmised it is a recent development.
I scouted the ground below but could not see any sign of it, nor did I have anything handy that may have been a good substitute. Instead I have placed the vessel within a small plastic bag and returned it to its location. Hopefully at some point in time a replacement lid or container can be installed.
Cheers.

Heading up north on state highway four today I stopped off at this junction to see if I could spot this one.
A relatively quick locate but with the container lid missing I don't see it lasting.

This one had us searching for about 10 minutes before it caught my eye! Froze while hunting but we have another smilie on our mal! TFTC
Two of us Spent about ten minutes looking so maybe it dropped off will need to try another time
Out with Red Roaming as we tour NZ, having a wonderful time on these Islands. another lovely sunny day. Log signed with our initials (DD & RR). apologies for my lateness in logging this cache.
I also found this one, just where RR had looked! TFTC - the cache is still missing its lid

Reasonably quick by DD just where I had looked, and missed it! Grr, losing my geoskills I think! Many thanks
Travelling around the world with Dartmoor Deliverer helping her celebrate having taking early retirement!
NB Dont forget our Devon UK Mega 2017 GC6JZNY this August in the beautiful East Devon area of our county. UK Megas are over one week full of events and geocaching - a wonderful way to enjoy our county!

Second time here, this time had a bit more time on my hands and a chance to read through previous logs, if it wasn't dark I would have had a good look for the lid cause its probably just on the ground somewhere just below but anyway still works fine without lid.

Took awhile - yes lid missing - we jammed it back in and is in place as best as possible. Tftc
I was in Ohakune for a mountain bike race, but I needed to find a cache at 39 degrees 22 minutes for a challenge, so I shot up the road to this one.
The cache was much harder to find than I expected, especially after having seen photos of the cache after a recent discussion about it on Facebook.
As stated by the previous finder, the lid is missing. The log is poking out, but it is being held in place, by the way the cache is hidden.
Thanks.

Day # 14 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Today was supposed to be a very special and extensive caching-day
Around and of course in the wonderful Tongariro Natiol Park everything was extreme :
- The weather went from 'slightly sunny' to 'close to awful' [B)] over the day.
- The walking-distance on my two feet counted more than 22 kms, burning more than 1000 calories (Did not count the elevation-meters ...)
- Counted 65 (!) finds over the day, including the complete LOTR-series (only 1 DNF [xx(]), a beautiful earth cache [^], a mega-mystery , a cute letterbox [^] and several handsome traditional caches at the side of the road .
My personal highlight of this great day came on top of it all: I made my find **#10,000**
- a multi-cache with a great name: Chateau Tongariro [:X] - wow! ...
How lucky I am [:o)] ....
On the way back from Tongariro to Ohakune, i made this weird little devil to be my last catch of the day [^] .
Hey - dear owners around Tongariro - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .
And of course a special thanks [:X] [:X] to yorkshirekiwi83 for providing the great LOTR-series **AND my #10.000-multi** - this is awesome! [^]
Cheers from Germany

Searched for a few minutes and didn't see it, got a phone call and wandered around aimlessly (as you do when talking on ththe phone) and found it then good hide cheers!
This one took a little while for a team of four and we almost gave up just before my daughter was able to happily say got it! TFTC
#13721. After recent DNFs we weren't sure how we'd go with this one. Took us a while, but Troodles spotted this one in the end. TFTC.
Day 3 our North Is trip, and today we are traveling from Lower Hutt to Chateau Tongariro. It was rather drizzly at times, and we had to curtail our caching activities as we are fair weather cachers. Luckily the day ended with fine weather and even better, a view of the top of Mt Ruapehu .
Getting closer to our destination but time for another stop and another cache. Good area to pull off here. Not an instant find, but found the cache on the second pass. Signed the log book as SWaT to save on space. TFTC.

Team Welsh and I stopped and had a hunt around - we then started the list of where the cache could be and voila! T4tc
Was a bit concerned with the last couple of DNF's but very happy that we can report that the cache is in place. Thanks
We checked everywhere around it for at least 25mins so either some1 has taken it or it's too well hidden because nobody has found it for a while
I was staying in Ohakune for a few days and took a quick drive out to Raetihi, finding a few caches in between nasty showers that kept sweeping through. It took me a little while to spot this, but a systematic approach soon paid off. TFTC!
How on earth can so many people find the cache when I couldn't find it! It made no sense and I spent considerable time looking for the damn thing and I was about to give up when I finally spotted it. Good grief.
Found with HeMaLuDy while travelling around the mountains collecting the lab caches for the Mega.

Day 2 of Mega - Geocaching Adventure
Teamed up with HKCB to tackle a few out of the way caches around the mountains, plus a few Lab caches on the way.
An amazing day, a not too early start, already had an event plus the sun is shinning. Perfect caching conditions!
After driving to get some information for the Labs we headed back this way to start finding some 'real'caches. A quick find here thanks

Day 2 of Mega 2016!
Today's goal was to head around the mountain to find the Lab caches as well as the caches up the Western side of the mountains, again like yesterday focusing more on the caches a little more off the beaten track than on the side of the road. Again teamed up with 11HPG11 for today's mission!
Grabbed the required info for the lab caches down this way first before turning our attention to the other caches in the area. This one I found fairly quickly, and was surprised by a fresh blank log in it. I though the log must of been replaced because of the high level of traffic finding caches in the area over the weekend. Noticed the story on Facebook about there being two caches placed here later on this evening, not sure what was going on here with that??

#2499 Turangi MEGA weekend with Nic-Jay and keewee- Sunday: Turangi then South around the mountains to get the Lab caches and others on the way. An even better day than yesterday! Cloudless morning and warm sun. Glorious! Took awhile to spot the cache and then as we were signing and replacing, along came 'Sidewaze' (if my memory serves me correctly) and so we passed it along. We signed as 'SNK' to save space and because the pen was giving me grief. TFTC!
Team IFTBNZ set off again, looking for Lab caches and any lonely caches we could find. This fitted the bill nicely! TFTC, and the 3.9Km to its nearest neighbour...

Two caches found here and two logs signed. Travelling round the mountain today collecting lab caches and a few others with purply.
There was a car at GZ clearly defined by the several Mega flags madly flapping in the wind. Made for a real quick park and grab as the logbook was handed over for signing. TFTC #9331
Today we are driving around the mountain gathering the answers we need to solve the Lab caches set at the Mega event . . . and whilst we are out and about we are solving some extra caches whilst out and about. A bit of confusion as there were two nanos here [?] TFTC
In town for the 2016 Mega. Most logs done as "Team Seac" or as Uncle Sam.
Sorry for the generic cut and paste logs. But thank you for taking the time to place this cache.

Wow its our lucky day 2 for one..I guess the old one is the original...maybe someone could?? not find the original and replaced it haha great cache thanks heirsback for the cache??
Spent the weekend at the Mega caching with MorganEd, Happyhippynanny1 and Clan Murray. This was my first mega so wanted to spend as much time as I could caching with awesome people and meeting people along the way.
Thank you to all CO's for placing these caches for us to find.

Found while attending the Turangi Mega event with Team Rattll. No sooner had we arrived than another Texan turned up. There are now two logs at this location. TFTC
So my plan was to replace the full log that had been reported by others on behalf of my brother - Heirsback. Couldn't find the original so placed another cache there. Turns out the original is still there..... may need to get this sorted.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

quick find while out caching with 3 of the best caching chicks at the mega aroha and happy caching
Out and about from the Mega Turangi 2016 on a circular road trip to gather up Lab and Caches for the afternoon. Beautiful day and weather to travel across the Desert Road. Nice to meet other cachers along our journey today. A lovely stop on the way. Quick find. SL. TFTC.
#2965. Attending the NZ mega event in Turangi. Full log to write up on return home. Finally got it this time after previous DNF.
In Turangi for the Labour weekend MEGA, and the location of the lab caches meant that we had to take a trip around the mountain, so of course we stopped for caches along the way! It was pretty cold today, with the threat of rain, but being hardened cachers (lol) we didn't let that put us off!
I love the countryside, and had never been down this way before, so really enjoyed the scenery as we went... we are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country!!!
This one was found after lunch, on the way up to Mt Ruapehu. Was a reasonably quick find, despite several possible hiding spots. A fair bit of fascination was had too, at the resident spider enjoying a bee feast. Ewwww.
Log signed as team SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) to save time and log space.

6.50pm - As the driver I thought I wouldn't need to get out to look for this cache. Best plans don't always work and I am now out to help and soon spotted cache. Always a struggle to roll these one up after signing. Needs new sheet. SLTFTC
I was down in Turangi for the Mega this weekend. I teamed up with Philip.Perry and Tnxpro for most of the weekend we signed the log sheets Team BOP. Saturday we decided we needed to drive around Ruapehu today to get all the lab caches and stopped to get as many other caches we could on our travels. This part of the country is absolutely spectacular really enjoyed our time here over the weekend.
Even with three pairs of eyes this took us a while to find then it was Philip who spotted it from a distance while Tnxpro and I were standing in front of it.

Out caching for the Mega, heading south and around the mountains to get the Lab caches. A quick stop for another cache. TFTC.
Another quick find as we headed around the Tongariro National Park picking up lab cache info, TFTC!
With Gap (of Fap and Gap), NZFlossy, ABCDF4, and eyespyben... In Turangi to attend the New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016 event...
Saturday: You would think that with six pairs of eyes (and an eyespyben), we would make quick work of this one... Not even! This one took us several minutes, as we searched wide before narrowing our focus... At this point, there was only one nano here, and Gap spotted this well hidden little bugger... TFTC.

Team B.O.P. have made it to the 2016 NZ MEGA in Turangi and today is day #2. TNXPro, Davidson clan and myself have joined forces and today we're off around the mountain for the lab caches and any others that cross our path. There was a little searching on the obvious structure but it took a different angle to spot this one right in front of my team mates. Cheers Heirsback - TFTC
Day four of my NZ geoadventure,
A trip that I had been planning for months was finally well underway.
Found while driving around the mountains, almost a drive in here
Thanks for hiding this cache and my apologies for the copy-paste logs

For our weekend of MEGA adventures we decided on a name of INT GEO as our team included cachers from USA, Fiji and Denmark with a couple of kiwis making up the balance. From the start we decided on quality not quantity but we wanted to include a mix of cache types to share with our newbie cacher.
We enjoyed two days out and about with good weather, great caches shared with a fun team.
As the kiwis in the team, we were constantly reminded of the amazing scenery that we simply take for granted as we were frequently shown examples of "trees dripping with colour", "lichens growing amongst the volcanic vomit", "picturesque lakeside bays" and "mountains of meringue"......
Thanks for all the COs for sharing with us a fabulous area of NZ TFTC.

Day 2 of our Mega weekend. Philip.Perry, Davidson clan and myself have teamed up once again and logged all caches as 'Team BOP'.
Today was a journey to circumnavigate the mountains and to get as many caches as possible that we came across. We were on a tight time frame, and had other cachers chasing our tail the whole way.
This was luckily a quick stop, but it could have easily driven us crazy looking for a magnetic something clinging to aluminium.
Thanks for bringing me here.

This cache was solved as a part of my attendance at the 2016 Mega Event based in Turangi over the weekend of the 21st-24th October 2016 (Labour Weekend). As there were a number of lab caches to solve that involved circling the three main mountains we decided to solve them in convoy and we found this one on the way. So I headed off with NewlynFam, Wolfie109, Keylev, NZ Travellers, Cragger, and Laval to head from Turangi to Waiouru, from Waiouru to Ohakune, from Ohakune to the top of the Bruce Rd, and back to Turangi. So this cache was first on our hit list after a visit to the giant carrot and some lunch in Ohakune while being careful to avoid any giant rabbits that might be around. Once we arrived at GZ this was quite a straightforward find. Thank you Heirsback for taking the time to set this one up. Very cool! We have signed the log 'Team S.E.A.C' which stands for 'Team South East Auckland Crew'. TFTC!
Attending the NZ mega and decided that today we will collect all the lab caches and do a drive around the mountain so we could be back for the interesting puzzle caching afternoon sessions. TFTC
We had a search and soon spotted the cache, it took a pen to retrieve it, but we soon had it in hand. The log was very full, and it took the Space Pen to actually write in the only space it had on it. Thanks for the cache. #620
Out and about caching with Anastriel, Lycurgon and Small Pooka for the Mega event. TFTC
