Not sure about this one. The obvious place to look was 60 feet from ground zero and that was behind the fence in the woods. Looked where I thought it would possibly be and then moved along.
This was kind of fun to find I was startled once or twice but eventually I got it thank you for the find. Pretty cemetery
Attempted a few more unsuccessfully so this was my last find heading home on a work day trip to Charleston, WV TFTC!
10th of 19 Finds, 1 DNF and 7 Un-attempted due to running out of time. Day 1 of my GeoWoodstock XVI Road Trip; I’m enroute to the Hocking Hills KOA from Yorktown VA. I actually started yesterday afternoon and drove to Charlottesville VA to shorten today’s drive: This one was a Park, Walk & Look for a well concealed container that I missed on the first pass! My Geo-sense told me to look there however, with several other spots within the zone it took several minutes to locate the cache after I started a second closer inspection. All is well and I logged in for the find at 1405 hours. Next up will be “Sellers Ridge (GC5ZQ5T)” which was my lone DNF today, TFTC.
Made the find with Nuggie99 and Ally Cat. It was so quiet and peaceful here! The cache and log are in good shape. TFTC!
Found with Allysmom24 and Nuggie99. It was a good evening to take this quiet road and enjoy a Sunday drive. TFTC!
Cache Log:
Just one more find in Meigs County [)]. Ya’ know, since we’re already over here and all [:p]. We also always appreciate a trip into a local cemetery, so this was just hitting the right buttons with us [^]. Quick find once we reached GZ and then we continued the journey, back into WV . TFTC The Spauntaneous Life !
Day 5 Log:
After waking up in the hotel’s “social experiment” room, we all thawed out on a drive around the Charleston area, picking off some of the cooler caches in the area . Sure, it was raining and we were wet until about lunch, but it was still much better than going back to that room ! Compared to the first 4 days of the trip, today’s roads were a very welcome change of pace. Not nearly as steep, not nearly as windy, and several of them had speed limits worth meeting . We took a little longer on the route than expected, but it was not a problem given the timing of day 6 . We ended up stopping for a nap at about 4 AM when we hit the transition point into the final day of the plan [)].When the clock rolled over at 12 AM I clocked our daily total at 47: 41 traditionals, 2 mysteries, 1 earthcache, 1 webcam, 1 multi, 1 letterbox , and 7 benchmarks . Just need to power through 1 more day [^]!!
Adventure Log:
Found with inxtricablfate (IXF), Skeletor10 (SK10), and SCGeoNinja (Ninja) on a 6 day caching road trip through the mountains of WV . My goal is to complete at least 1 state’s county and DeLorme challenge every year [8]. Given our current progress along the east coast and limited time to take on a larger state this year, we opted to continue the fun with WV, flying into PIT then running a clockwise loop around WV . Well, as clockwise as you can get when literally every road is another winding mountain adventure . SK10 opted in without hesitation since it would put him into Ohio (1st time caching there) and SCGeoNinja was A-OK with linking up with us for the trip as long as he was not required to do anything except finds caches for us [8)] (totally cool with me, but I guess I should have specified showing up on time ).
The journey was not what I had anticipated, but it certainly ended up as a memorable experience just the same . Right away we started off with hurdles to overcome since Ninja failed to make our flight time (by like 5 minutes [:o]), setting the caching clock by 4 hours [B)]. Balance our now inflexible schedule against the bad weather that stuck around most of the weekend and now you have our team out hiking a few miles along the mountain trail at 2 AM, just soaking in the rain [xx(]. Certainly memorable [)]! Oh well, though we did not dry out that day, we did eventually shake it all off and the caching continued to roll forward regardless [:p]. Once we had caught up on the time from that misadventure, we did not do too bad pacing the rest of the trip. In fact, we even managed to squeeze in an extra hotel stay at a critical juncture, which ended up being my personal highlight of the entire trip (despite the fact that I barely used the hotel room ).
Our winding loop through WV brought us back through 52 of 55 counties and 43 DeLorme pages, leaving out only what we all already had on the far east side of the state from previous trips into WVTim land . Along the way we did quick hops in MD, VA, OH, and a wrap up in PA on the “long” way back to PIT [)]. Our poor rental started off at 2,453 miles and clocked back in at 4,772, totaling 2,319 miles in just 6 days [:o]. Yeah… I feel bad for it (but only a little ) in light of the ~400 miles per day I averaged on some pretty rough mountain roads [^]! We closed the trip with a total of 254 caches, including 198 traditionals, 20 Mysteries, 20 Earthcaches, 7 Multis, 4 Letterboxes, 2 Webcams, 2 Virtuals, 1 Wherigo, and 16 benchmarks (not counted in the total). A huge thanks to all of the COs who hid caches along the way to make this epic journey possible !!!!!

Day 5 Log:
Charleston, WV greeted us last night with a hotel room that was too frigid even for my penguin blood. The price of a cheaper hotel it seems[)]. Their AC unit was forever stuck on its coldest setting[B)]
After spending a short time around Charleston, we set out for the day on some of the nicer roads in the state. We gently wound our way through this part of the route, though we took a bit more time than anticipated. We finally settled down for a nap around 4AM.
Day 5 netted us 47 caches (41 Traditional, 2 Mystery, 1 Earthcache, 1 Webcam (revisit for me..), 1 Multi, 1 Letterbox, and 7 Benchmarks)

Adventure Log:
magtfplanner and I have been working to complete a state's county and Delorme challenge each year[^]. This year we ended up doing two[8], West Virginia and Louisiana. For this trip, magtfplanner and I were joined by Skeletor10 and SCGeoNinja.
We flew into Pittsburgh and set upon a 6 day adventure through the winding roads of West Virginia, working our way in a clockwise loop. Since SCGeoNinja missed his flight, we were set back a couple of hours[xx(], but some convenient cuts allowed us to attempt to get back on schedule. This West Virginia trip was defined by winding roads and torrential rains[B)]. And who could forget that SCGeoNinja couldn't hold anything down for the first few days and the winding roads only exacerbated his chagrin. [:o)]. As with many states, we were met with an entirely different feel in culture and landscape. An impromptu hotel stay allowed magtfplanner and I to really soak up some of that culture [8].
As we already hade some counties and pages, this trip netted us the 52 remaining counties and 43 Delorme pages so we could complete both Challenges. We also took an early morning stroll up to Rich Creek Riches to claim the oldest in West Virginia. We tagged a few extra states along the way (Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania), picking up a few outlier counties to help our progress on those states later on.[^].
We concluded the trip with 254 caches, though a few were revisits for me[B)] (198 Traditional, 20 Mystery, 20 Earthcache, 7 Multi, 4 Letterbox, 2 Webcam, 2 Virtual, 1 Wherigo, and 16 Benchmarks.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing these caches for us to find.
Found with magtfplanner, Skeletor10, and SCGeoNinja.

Summer 2017:
This year magtfplanner and I orchestrated a most ambitious and exhausting summer with little rest time between trips. This made some of the last-minute trip modifications a bit more difficult but we managed to slog our way through all of our goals. Of course, this left no time for logging so they are all being logged weeks after the fact, hopefully before the finale trip.
June 10: New RM challenges, Dollar Puzzle-Art, and Video Game series around Vero Beach, FL.
June 11: A very short "local" caching run
June 15-20: West Virginia County and Delorme Challenge completion
June 24: Numbers Run in Ocala, FL - June 25: Some local caching in NW Jacksonville
June 29-July 4: Louisiana Parish and Delorme Challenges
July 13-18: Contiguous Counties connection Trip (Finish connecting lower 48)

August 23-September 6: Eurotrip - 15 Countries, MEGA in Switzerland, GIGA in Czech Republic
Found while on a weeklong caching trip across the great state of West Virginia with magtfplanner, InxtricablFate, and SCGeoNinja. Our trip starts in Pittsburgh and the plan is to make our way through each county in WV, dipping into neighboring states along the way. We also target other caches of interest including Jasmer, state's oldest, CAAs, virtuals, and others with high favorite points.
The answers to the earthcaches and virtuals were submitted on behalf of the group by me.
Unless otherwise noted, all caches were found in good shape, log was signed, and cache returned to its hiding spot. Thank you for contributing to this awesome adventure!

I cannot believe that a geocache is cute is this one didn't have more favorites. We saw lots of great birds, good old trees, old gravestones and took lots of pictures at Ground Zero. SL TFTC Nonie and Jim of the 2McDs
We tried for a find on our last remaining unfound cache in Ravenswood with no luck. We had to run to the store and had our heart set on a cache for international geocaching day. With daylight fading we ran over here for the next nearest cache. Thanks for the smiley!
Easy find, good hide, looked around the old cemetery after the find, lots of really old graves here. TFTC SL, replaced as found.
Drove over to this one this afternoon and made the find. Signed the log and than looked around the cemetery TFTC
