Taking a few days off work so I can get away to Mildura for a long weekend. My first time in Mildura so lots of geocaches to tackle to keep me entertained. Perfect conditions to be outside and geocaching. Awesome cache. Very unique. A definite favourite point from me. Thank you Lord rossatron and Princess Peach 25, for placing Race to the Philosophers Stone 2: Devils Snare for the geocaching community.# # #15785 # #
Bloody sensational cache and first close group of three I have given favourites Haha this is crazySigned both logsTFTC
With bogonghazy and littleboss 2 for a few days of caching and golf in and around Mildura. Thanks for a nice walk
Out for the day with LittleBoss2, Sorceysal and Geo the puppy. A few more in the late afternoon. LB2 for there first and did the honours. That's my girl. Great cache and container, thanks
Found with Bogonghazy, sorceysal, geo dog whilst caching in Mildura. Interesting cache. Managed yo retrieve very quickly. Thanks for placing the geocache
An interesting cache, but no qualms from us as we retrieved the log.Back in town again we headed down into the CBD area to look for a few unfinished caches and some Ad Labs close by before heading out into the bushland area near the Murray to try our luck.We chose to try the caches in the bushland by car which turned out to be somewhat of a mistake although we did find the ones we were after. It meant quite a bit of walking from the tracks and an amazing collection of burrs but we were successful. Some good gadget caches were encountered which always goes down well.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Lord rossatron.**SKI Pair****
Suscoe was enjoying a day in and around Mildura and Merbein today.Another delightful day to be in this part of the state. Thanks to Lord rossatron for this interesting cache.
We could see the large size container as we approached, but we were not quite prepared for the next step.Time to put a pair of gloves on! A torch came in handy also. Log signed! Aarrgghhh! Thanks Lord rossatron Domsky
So cool, I was not however putting my hand in there! I saw a big dead huntsman in there but it was the biggest cache I've ever found! Thanks
**This Cache**Always love a "Large" sized cache, and one with favourites is even better! So a detour was in order and we were soon parked in close proximity and made the short walk over.Once we realised what we had to do I was a little bit nervous! I did not like this feeling at all, but thankfully was able to spot something through the opening amongst many other things I would rather not touch! I swear there was something in there that used to be ACTUALLY ALIVE (but is no longer). I wasn't keen to find out.... so carefully used my fingers to retrieve the suspicious object and was thankful when the logbook revealed itself, phew! Interesting concept! Thanks for the fun?---**Today:**Day 1 of 2 of the trip back to Canberra!Renmark - BalranaldWe decided to take a long and tough route, specifically for a combination of old caches, an interstate Wherigo and an off the beaten track virtual cache! This involved hundreds of km's of dirt driving on Wentworth - Renmark Rd. Definitely not ideal in a very small 2WD car as we felt every bump, but at least the road was in good condition the entire way! We managed to get a handful of excellent caches and even finished the night with a bunch of brand new caches in Robinvale which was a bonus!A 12 hour day before we finally arrived at Shamrock Hotel in Balranald, where we enjoyed the best meal of the trip! A HUGE plate of Chinese for a great special price. Well worth ordering off the Chinese menu as they also did the standard pub meals but they were more far more expensive and likely more generic too! Thanks to the CO's
I found this cache during my trip to the South Australian MEGA in 2024 sometime between the 23rd of February and the 9th of March 2024. Not sure of the exact day that I found this cache as I found over 1500 caches for the trip and decided to log them all when I got home. This cache was signed DSD or DARKSIDEDAN or AB or Adventure Boys. Thank for the cache and the adventure.
Decided to get a smile for this one. Walked over and spotted the cache container. Got water out of lid and located cache, signed log and replaced. TFTC
This one was not found last time we were in the area, so it was sitting out here all alone, so figured it was good one to do today. Drove down the track, and when perpendicular too it, we parked and found an easy way down into the ditch. Luckily no water in it today. It was then as we climbed out of the ditch, that we realised there was a fence between us and it. Sent Madrabbitoh through to do the signing stuff. It's pretty yuk in there. TFTC

Unusual place for a larger than expected cache
Didn’t bother putting hand in
Not really that brave
For me finding the cache is all that matters

Great idea, well carried out, good fun and cleverly made. Unfortunately there was no hint inside as to the final.
Quickly found. Mrs TiedyeSmileys bravely let Mr TiedyeSmileys reach on and grab the cache

Southern Autumn adventure Day 57. Mildura Trip Day 6. Everyone from Canberra has now headed off and I have a couple more days here. I chose another river front area to visit today and found myself amongst another great collection of challenging caches, both to access and to open. Before that I finished the two multis we had been working at the end of the last group day, which they did before they left. It was great to be back at the van before lunch and I was actually able to do some logging. There is a lot of catching up to do.
Thanks for the cache Lord rossatron

Haha this was brilliant. The fact that the cache is damp inside and something heavy inside shifting around like it was alive added to the thrill. Even I hesitated. TFTC
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 and youban on our mini Mildura invasion! Quick find here! Thanks Lord rossatron!
Out with dty73 and Tankengine on a cache tour around Ballarat. Add another to the list. Kutgw
We're betting the cache was happy to have its own floating device during the recent floods. Must have got a tad wet in the Devils Snare as the log was a bit soggy and in pieces. We left a new logsheet. Great cache! Thanks Lord rossatron.
Found it but didn’t sign the log as when I opened the lid there was a big black spider inside. Also had to jump a barb wire fence to get this one. Cool cache though.
What a unique hide and great fun to find and then brave the unknown. I had a few kids with me at the time and they had a great time trying to find the cache. The only problem was they now think all caches are this engaging. Fantastic construction, a definite favourite for me.
A fantastic cache that had so much. Why did I reach inside it? To feel around for the cache? Hhhmmm. Thanks for the effort and TFTC.

Just like this cache container, “The truth. It is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with caution.” - so said Dumbledore..so wasn’t that fun!! Despite the heat I couldn’t resist and headed off on the MTB wondering what was in store. The prize was soon located quite fearlessly. TFTC and the fun - yep another fave
Interesting cache. Says there is a trackable but didn't delve to far. Couldn't see it.
Well done... so clever. Love the Harry Potter reference. Monks 55 was the brave one to plunge his arm in. But finally located the canister. Thanks for this clever cache. Fav point.
Removed the lid and had the daylights scared out of me by a big healthy Gecko. Navigation was off so had to tackle a couple of barbed wire fences. Thanks for the find.
This was a great opportunity to get away with some caching friends in Mildura. The plan was to hit some of the local trails and geo art. There was many other hides discovered, with some really great containers and hides in the area.
Another great hide was found here.
Thanks Lord rossatron for placing the cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy the find.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.
We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.
We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.
It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.
Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

Over from SA for 4 days of caching with Egregory1, Featherwaite and Brisal5.
We came primarily to do the Paddlesteamer series but picked up orthers as we drove around.
Apologies for the generis logs.
All caches we found were in good order.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!
Wow! What a cache! Mr Geo was the bravest to get the log book. Fabulous find. Took our friends on their first geocache hunt and was thrilled with the find. TFTC!
Took a bit to find as we went the long way around but really enjoy this cache

Decided to stick near the river today on the Victorian side. Copped my share of dust so car needs a hose down and possibly I do too Some interesting trails through here and spotted another blue tongue lizard Fun day out sightseeing and caching
Very wet all thru and log was sitting on top and well saturated. Tipped dirty water off the lid. Not sure I should be stomping thru the gardens but found goat tracks.

Enjoying dusty Mildura this week. Seriously. half the mallee topsoil followed us into town
We are holidaying together as a family team, so logs with the team Mattycat stamp include Purrfect Di, Jack, and Sebastbat as well as teen muggle Alex.
Some may get some initials as well All have made us smile
Mildura and surrounds certainly have some notable caches.
Many well constructed hides and clever clues. Well done to the local caching community
Log book and number were soon retrieved by Sebastbat, after we eventually found our way into the GZ.
Someone had made a bit of a mess with some contents laying around, but all in all another great cache.
Fav for the theme and great design

Love a large size cache.
No missing this one. A new concept for us. A great hide.
Thanks

Travelling around Australia, camped on the mighty Murray. The 'house' is still where it was when it rained but we managed to get 'out' in the GeoCruiser to tackle a few more local caches today.

This was an interesting cache, not much fun when it is all wet though. Cache took a bit to find.
A trip away with the grandfather (freddo) to the Riverland and Mildura, for the weekend to attend the 3X3 events for the events held in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

Visiting from California. Driving by and decided to go for this one. Very interesting cash I must say. Thanks for the detour and thanks for this wonderful find.
We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Darwin
We crossed the border into WA and completed the gibb river road and cape leveque, highlights of our trip
From Broome we have zig zagged from coast to inland and seen and done some amazing things
When we completed the Nullarbor and reached Port Augusta we decided to go back to Alice Springs to see our daughter who works there, just a slight detour
We are casually driving home but firstly heading to Bendigo to see another daughter
We are camped in the area and will sight see and cache a little
Have dropped off 4 tracks Lea.

#2119 Taking the long way from Melbourne to Adelaide via Mildura and stopping here and there to pick up some caches. Thanks to Lord rossatron and Princess Peach 25 for this one - a great hide, albeit a bit spooky!!
Found on a trip to Mildura with Mum/becca85. We did some caching, some shopping, some exploring and some relaxing while staying with my Great-Nana. TFTC
This was a fun one!
This was a fun one!
My 87 year old Nana is unwell so neisha07 and I are off on the 4.5 hour trip to Mildura to see her. (6+ hour trip for us with stops for caching!)
We detoured via Wycheproof on the way there then back home a couple of days later via 2 of the Silo's that hadn't been done when last we traveled in this direction.
A nice little getaway. TFTC
This was a nice walk in and fun cache. neisha07 ha no luck locating the little container so I had a turn and eventually found it. A fun cache that you've put a lot of effort in to. +FP

What a fun cache! Loved it even if the ét al was all freaked out putting his hand in! I was deputised and accomplished the task quickly. TFTC
After we found GZ it was Ok who is going to put their hand if first . Hubby found then I put it back a Squishy feeling you have to get over. Obvious but good hide a lot of work has been put in to it. TFTC
Geo wife wasn’t brave enough to put hand in. Oh well have a spare hand here I go. Very creative cache. Loved it.
Silo Road Trip to Mildura with Flaggys. I like large caches and we've been trying to find them in the areas we go, so we can eventually qualify for challenge caches. This was a novel cache that the kids had fun doing. We went to check where the others in the series are, but unfortunately they've been archived. Still, thanks for keeping this cache alive, we had fun.
A cleverely thought out cache. I resorted to removing the filling one item at a time until I came across the required container. Top effort in construction and execution and it's good to see that this one has been left alone by the general populace. A favourite point coming your way for the effort.
