Down among the dead men feels way too fitting for this cache! On a trip that my partner and I have done a million times before, that should only have taken us two days driving, thus far will take us 3. This trip has been fraught with disaster from hospital trips, road closures, 2+ hours of roadworks, flood waters, redirections and running out of fuel 200m from this cache and having to hitch hike into town to get some. When curiosity got the better of us to open the map while we got our heads around setting out on the road again and saw the name how could we not grab it.
Took a few minutes. Lots of long grass, but it was not as low down as I thought it would be. Tftc.
Found on a trip around central New South Wales with e.gregory1. Our original plans were to travel through Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba to attend the Dayboro event in Queensland and return via Port Macquarie and central NSW, but a series of events that included road closures due to flooding in southern inland Queensland, a covid outbreak in Brisbane and widespread storm damage and road closures along the north coast of NSW resulted in multiple changes of plans during the trip. As it eventuated our travels took us to central New South Wales, on a route from Broken Hill to Cobar, Nyngan, and Gunnedah from where we meandered southwards through some great scenery and historic towns that included Dunedoo, Wellington, Cowra and Yass. We then headed in a roughly westerly direction through to Temora, Wagga Wagga, Deniliquin and Swan Hill before making a final dash for home. All up we found a good mix of Traditionals, Puzzle Caches, Multicaches, Adventure Labs, Wherigos, Earthcaches, Letterbox Hybrids and Virtual Caches on a very entertaining and enjoyable trip. Thanks for the cache smee1961!
Found on a trip around inland NSW with FeatherWaite.
Our original intention was to attend the Mega event at Dayboro in Queensland, travelling up via Broken Hill, Bourke, Cunamulla and Toowoomba, then home via the NSW coast to Port Macquarie then on to Adelaide via central NSW. However, the Covid outbreak in Brisbane forced us to reconsider, particularly given that the Mega and associated events were within the area of concern and we may have had difficulty re-entering NSW to get home and then would have had to quarantine back in SA for 14 days.
The floods in the north and east of NSW also hampered our travel plans. But we were able to develop a new plan that took us on a very pleasant tour around country NSW, picking up some great caches along the way.
Thanks smee1961 for the cache.

While staying Tamworth for a few days, I ran out of caches to find
So, I grabbed my geodog Scruffy and decided to find a few caches further afield.
And this was one of them ...
All Good .. TFTC ..
and now I have that song stuck in my head ... thanks ..

We missed this by a long way, the gpsr does not update quick enough when travelling at 100KPH. So after a quick u turn, park and grab, another u turn, back on the road again to Premer.
nice and easy this love the area and our travels around , heading from Gilgandra to home so had to take the detour to pick up these along the way, many thanks for placing the cache
You could rail against the guard because he seemed to be asleep while protecting this cache. Tftc
Slowly heading home. Left Uralla this morning heading for Mudgee.
Bettyboo3747 and I collected occasional caches along the way.
We really didn't get down among them, in fact we just cruised across the top of the gully.
Thanks, Robmc.

#16821. Our second day on the road with the new camper travelling homewards from Uralla to Mudgee. A long day - smoky and the land is so dry and desolate and soul-destroying. Gathered a few caches along the way as they popped up on the radar.
The hint for this one was quite misleading but I did eventually locate the container. Names added and we continued on our way.
Thanks smee1961

Travelling from Mudgee to Tamworth via Coolah. Thanks to all the COs for placing the caches and showing us around your region.
Found the cache quickly and signed the log - off onto the next one. TFTC smee1961
Another cache and another great song. Thanks for the cache and putting songs in our heads that we can't get out.
Having set up camp at Coolah Tops and survived the first cold night, we headed out for a day of Geocaching
Decided to break up the drive back from Dubbo to Newcastle with a few more caches.
This was a quick find. The last traditional in the area for us. Just the multi in town to go now. TNLN TFTC

After leaving Dubbo we headed to Coolah for an over night stay & to locate the many caches in the area. Placing all the caches in town must be a boost for the local area.
Thanks for placing this cache smee1961

LOL, I had pulled over to this side to do this one and was in the middle of logging it at the back of the car when a cop car did the slow cruise past us, then took off. easy find thanks.
Heading south on holidays we stopped and found a few caches along the way.
No worries picking this one up.

There must be some truth in the naming of a bridge which means this one must have a history . . . and as we careered down to the bridge we can understand why. A quick park and grab as we continue south. TFTC smee1961.
Found on the way to work out at Coona. Spent a few days right here at GZ working for the Shire a couple of years back. Many thanks smee1961
Ah yes !!
The olde classic song [^]
Yours truly grew up with band
"Down among the Dead Men" was a favourite of mine,
but lets not forget "Walking in the Rain",
"The African Shuffle",
and that most classic of classics .... "Hey St Peter"
"California",
and "Waiting for a Train" should get a mention too
Oh yeah !!

Visiting friends in Coolah - didn't know about caching when I lived here so making up for time now. TFTC
Still wondering who blew a loud blast on their horn as they drove past - surely the locals are not that fussy about how I park? Anyway the cache was spotted and signed and we moved on. TFTC
Lots of very noisy traffic chose to drive past while we parked here, but managed to find enough gaps. To collect, sign and return the cache. Thanks for placing the cache - I would address you by name but this stupid new app doesn't tell me who placed the cache!
We had to stop for this one with a name like this, even with a caravan in tow, easy find.
Yay! Woohoo! This is our third (FTF) for today. Another pristine log sheet faced us when the container was opened and we were very happy to sign in the place indicated. The cache itself was very easy to find and we soon were able to move on heading for the next find. This cache also gets a favourite point as we do for all our {FTF} caches. Thank you smee1961 for another first to find opportunity and for bringing us to this area.
