#11,335. I have been down at Punakaiki for the week doing some work. Drove back last night to Westport and had a crazy early start dropping off a work colleague at the airport for the 6am flight. I was going to do some caching after that but it was too dark and passing showers put the kibosh on that idea. So back to the motel for breakfast then came here early in the day.
Driving around picking up a few more before I head across to Nelson. This one might be tricky for those with short arms or legs. Just reached it. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks bumandworker for hiding it here.

Stopped here to cook up some breakfast.
The coast was clear when i got here, but a family arrived soon afterwards, so i had to wait until they got sorted and kayaked off.
I managed to locate where the cache was hidden while i waited, so once they were out of the way, it was a quick job.
Thanks for putting this here

I'm in Westport for the long weekend. I haven't been here for a few years now so a geocaching visit is long overdue. All good here. Cache found safe and sound. TFTC, Biggles.
A bit of a stretch before dinner.
I am being taxi Mum for my son and daughter in law for the Heaphy Track and finding a few geocaches. Today was drop off day. Thanks bumandworker for creating this hide. It was find 9559 for me.

Nice quick find while staying in Westport suprising our friend for his 50th birthday.
Glad it wasn’t too much higher. Sun is out here at this time of the morning, and we didn’t really get any more rain after this. TFTC B&W.
Found with NZDi. Today is the fourth day of our Wet Coast adventure and as the weather was supposed to be abysmal we decided to do a road trip to Inangahua Junction to pick up the roadside caches that would be impossible to stop for when towing a caravan. That was the plan... we got as far as our first find of the day and then as we got closer to the next the heavens open up and I got drenched. It would appear that as the warm air mass coming across the Tasman gained altitude it dropped all its moisture. The weather looked better nearer the coast so we changed our plans and headed back.
This was our eleventh find of the day and was not at the level you usually expect of a B&W cache, but we got it at a stretch.
A QEF PnG for the numbers.

*Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!*
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
Weather was quite bad again with several heavy showers of rain
*We soon had another good cache located!*

I had planned for today to locate and sign off a few caches around the Westport metropolis.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
I seem to remember this area! I think I might have stopped by, and left after not seeing anything obvious. Well it is not obvious, and the terrain is higher than 1.5, a least for me. Managed to get it today yay!! TFTC!!
Easy find, had to use a stick to get it as I'm short... Didn't sign as didn't bring a pen on my bike ride
Managed to find a useful tool in the car that meant grabbing the cache was easier.
another quick night find.
thanks for the logs, one had me onto the spot instantly.

Only just managed to get this one!! What a beautiful spot. Log completely full. TFTC
Found it on our evening walk. It started to rain as we searched for it, but it didn't take long to stop and we were rewarded with a beautiful rainbow and the cache.
(# 5440). Today is day 9 of my West Coast trip. Today I am traveling from Westport to St Arnaud. Main goal was the Brunner Peninsula Walk. A quick find after 2 aborted missions due to muggles being on site. Everything in order. TFTC
Quick snag and tag here on our way past. Cheers
Its off on another geotour this weekend with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby. We spent last Sunday in Nelson collecting the gemstones from the Museum Heist, so this weekend we are on a Geotour to the Westcoast with The Seagnoid, Zara and Toby, to return the gems. Early Saturday morning we went on another magical tour of Denniston. Great views today just after dawn. Enjoyed a walk along the Kawatiri River Trail.

Nice day caching around Westport.
Taybeedragon and I headed out to the West Coast to figure out how to return the jewels taken from that big heist at the Teague-Ulmer Museum back into their vault. And I picked the West Coast to do that as there is a cache nearby that gives me the last hidden month for a NZ Jasmer. And on top of all that, it is the 50 year anniversary of the first men on the moon - Happy Moon Landing Day! While the rest of the country was bathed in glorious rain, we were stuck with sunshine and clouds. Oh, well, can't have it all.

Our travels lead us to your cache, as we travelled the northern West Coast/Buller, many thanks, bumandworker, for bringing us here. The majority of the team is walking the Old Ghost Road and the minority of the team is travelling to the ‘pick-up’ end, both with some caching to do … We’ve had great fun so far and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we all travel on our way. TFTC.
It was so busy that we returned at night, which was an additional challenge. TFTC
Spotted likely hiding spot and soon managed to retrieve. I am a bit concerned that the natural growth on the tree is being damaged somewhat. Thanjs for the challenge bumandworker
Merry Xmas... I came back with a taller person for this one lol. Thank you for the cache
Cruising around the Westport urban micro trail - Mr D has height and climbing advantages so no problems here.
Found o a cycle around parts of Westport while waiting for the club van to be repaired. Some great scenery and bird life. Spotted a white heron. PS. I am over six feet tall, getting the cache, not a problem. TFTC
A nice and quick find. Especially ater the dog walker left. Cheers.
Todays plan. drive up to Denniston Plateau, grab as many caches as practible, and go down "The Trudge" to meet Ms KR at the bottom. Mission successful!
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Found it easily after reading previous posts, this one wont get easily swept away in any further floods!
Out on an early morning caching run around Westport. Took notice of previous logs so correctly guessed where the cache would be. Fortunately, I was just tall enough. Thanks B&W.
After looking around some of the likely spots, a re-read of the logs gave us a heads up and with a leap of faith we made the grab. tftc
This should have a terrain rating of 5 for me because I need specialised equipment. Even a stick didn't help. In hind sight I should have got my walking pole out of the car and tried with that. Getting it back though might have been a problem
Some of my caching buddies get really upset with hides like this, I think they think they're discriminatory. Me. I was fine, but 1mm higher and I would have been joining in the complaints . TFTH .
Nice area great spot for a picnic
Quick search around, found the cache, signed the log
Thankyou bumandworker for the cache.

Stayed in Westport overnight, went for an early morning bike ride before heading towards Nelson. Nobody at all about and I found the nicely hidden cache after just a few minutes. Signed log, TFTC
Another nice area we did not know about - there were no whitebait that we could see in the nearby water - maybe a bit early for them. TFTC
More of a jump and grab rather than a park n grab. However managed to find on a quite, sunny winter's morning. Last time I passed by there were too many muggles picnicking to even bother stopping. Tftc
Easy reach for a tall fellow like myself, replaced as found (by touch) All good here and a new part of Westport for me to visit today. T F T C b&w.
With a van to transport me around I headed out after the parade in Westport town centre for a couple of hours break in the sunshine and a few caches.
And so it was decided that for this years Anzac Day observations that a group of my workmates and I would head West, to the Coast, to pay our respects and parade in the Air Force colours. We loaded into the van on mid-afternoon on Monday and arrived in Westport just on dusk. Checked into the motel apartments for the evening before an 0430 start on Tuesday to parade at Granity followed by Waimangaroa at 09145 and finishing at Westport at 1100 to march on the Cenotaph.
An awesome couple of days with many new people met, places seen and other experiences and tales from the Coast. Oh, and a few caches too!

Quick easy find after being foiled by muggles many times in the past. Great spot for a picnic hence at least art of the muggle problem. Thanks for yet another cache.
Phew we just managed to get this one, but found it after a bit of push and shove! Quiet here today and lovely view! Not warm enough for a swim yet.....TFTC
What a lovely spot - vey tranquil today but I can see why it would be busy at other times. Lots of neat birdlife wading in the low river levels. TFTC #9633
Maybe just too wet to put the caching glasses on, but 2 of us gave this a fair go with no luck, I'm sure it's there, just couldn't locate today and time is running out for us.
Those darn whitebaiters are everywhere! Luckily the fellow wasn't stationed at his site, just his vehicle, so we easily got to GZ, found GC and logged our find. I wouldn't mind living across the road either. Great little neighbourhood.
Found quickly with Mporokosa and Truffles. A team effort. Just as we had replaced the GC a muggle from over the road arrived making sure that we were not interfering with his white-baiting gear. TFTC.
Loaded up our bikes and did the last few caches before dinner by car. A quick stop here.
Thanks bumandworker for the cache.

Quick find while out on another caching day with KE. Cache 2000th find for me. TFTC
Easy to found but a bit harder to retrieve being vertically challenged, got it though.

Thankfully we left the spit at the speedway and it didnt actually come of anything. These types of hides are hard but rewarding once you managed to retireve the cache and return it properly. Thanks for the cache
There - said Sobad from the car as Mrs went around in circles. In that case you can get it said Mrs SoBad - as the T rating was a bit low for her given that that cache was a bit..... No picnic here for us today - we did have coffee in the car, but too soon after lunch to be tempted.
Thanks.
Thanks.
After an early start for a flying visit to the Coast a watery sun had made an appearance. We picked our way to GZ between puddles and soon realised what we were dealing with. The person with the right attributes for the job was nominated and gracefully accepted. Thank you bumandworker
We thought it might be wise to find this cache before there was too many people out and about so called here on our way to Karamea. I figured out immediately where the cache was so stood back and let Hazedarus grab it. While he was doing that I enjoyed the sight of the sunrise on fresh snow on Bucklands Peaks. I was happy to sign the log though as HZ + HM as most of our caches are these days.
Thank you bumandworker.
