Took a bit of a search but very clear on location once on the right spot. Great views from here.A trip to Oberon with sacada and family for the weekend. It has been a long time since I was in the area and a nice drive through the scenic and slightly chillier location! Enjoyable to explore the area through caching and pick up a few of the recently solved puzzles, and other caches as we passed. Thanks for your cache!
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Finished trip to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Now only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Back around Canberra and doing some side trips.TFTC. A trip to Oberon with family and Aquilus1. Grab a few completed puzzles, a multi and a bunch of trads close to town. Found an injured cockatoo.Took a bit of looking.
Reperio 08:36Today I had the day off, so decided to spend it along the TRLT series from Hazelgrove through Edith and Gingkin to Mount David. High winds throughout the day made things a bit tricky with signing logs and keeping zip lock bags from flying away, but almost all caches were found in good health, with only a few DNFs, and a few that need maintenance. As I was working from an offline list, I ended up revisiting a few caches I had previously logged due to the list not being updated. All in all it was a great day out.Gratias whitemushroomAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Out for a quick cache run today. Started the day with a bacon and egg roll from mama snows at tarana (with a vanilla slice for later).Weather was cool with a chill to the air, but the GPS was working well.No weirdos spotted today. Clearing up this little section of TRLT and there were four big trucks that passed me today so I guess its not thaaaaat much less travelled. All caches found in decent order. Thankyou for placing these ones.TFTC
We are on a cachey 10 day holiday, starting off with 2 nights at Emu Plains to hopefully collect the new GFA puzzle caches around Luddenham and some more of the Band caches north of Penrith. Then it’s 5 nights at Oberon to collect some of the many new & old puzzle caches that we have solved around the area, and also hoping to complete the Oberon Adventure Lab. After leaving Oberon we will be visiting Jenolan Caves, for both the caves and the Jenolan EarthCache, then heading to Katoomba for 2 nights to ride the Scenic World attractions (Railway, Cableway, & Skyway) and to do a few caches of various types plus an Adventure Lab. We will end the holiday with a stop-off at Wentworth Falls for some more caches and a couple of Adventure Labs.
Today we will be visiting the Oberon & District Museum in the morning (open 10:30am to 12:30pm), then after lunch we will be travelling some of "the roads less travelled" to collect some of the TRLT cache series, and also any other caches we come across along the way. This was our 7th find of the day (day 5), and 86th find of the holiday.
Continuing along Nunans Hill Road and this is the next one we came to, and it was another nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. TFTC whitemushroom.

The sun is shining, the countryside is green and there were caches to find. We had a lovely day cruising around the back roads. Thanks for the caches.
It is beautiful spring weather, so we left the chores and want out to enjoy the day and do some caching. Thanks for making our day more enjoyable.
GPS had difficulty settling in this spot and had to investigate a number of objects before finding the right one.

With the COVID19 restrictions lifting, we decided to head to the Bathurst area this long weekend on a Geomission with Rapidlywild. Our intention was to attack the TRLT trail and others around the area.
We had a great four days, only a few DNF’s but mostly smiley's, and have left plenty for another adventure. Lovely area to cache in and we look forward to coming back for some more fun and laughs.
Thanks for the hide whitemushroom and thanks Rapidlywild for another great weekend away.
Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for their efforts.

With COVID19 locking everyone down for so long, a MUCH overdue geocaching mission was welcomed. FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided to head towards Bathurst and attack some of the TRLT caches and see how far we can go. Spoke to a few of the CO's prior to heading up to see if we could assist with any maintenance that was required, so we went prepared with some camo containers and some fresh log books. We had a wonderful weekend stretching the legs and enjoying the country side.
Thanks for the hide whitemushroom And thanks to the FFLL ladies for another fun weekend out and about the TRLT trails and others

Today I planned my adventure tour along the TRLT Trail in Meadow Flat and head south.
On the way I search and find a lot of boxes.
Again and again I am happy about the beautiful landscape and the many animals on the pastures.
Thanks to all owners for this great tour

O319 and I have headed off for 3 days of caching. Mainly targeting TRLT and "history of" caches.
Found with sjg66 on a three day TRLT and "History of" blitz. 220 caches over 1100kms. Lots of great scenery, but also lots of dust as it is all so dry out here at the moment. Thanks to all the CO's for hiding and maintaining these caches.
Greetings from DARKSIDEDAN.
This weekend I went on a caching trip and managed to get about 165 caches for the weekend. Your cache was one of the 165 caches that I signed CGG19 as part of our group signature for the five geocachers in our group. We saw loads of wildlife on our trip including 6 Wombats and loads of Roos. This was a fantastic series of caches. I cant wait to get back out and finish the rest of this series off. Thanks to the CO for the fun weekend.
Here is a little about me. At the time of this “Found It” log I have over 6750 finds and 350 Hides. I was the creator of the “Ducky Dip” Lab Cache that won 2nd Prize in the State Vs State Battle of the Labs during the OzGeoMuster – The Gong 2019. I am the owner of the largest GeoArt Series in the ACT and winner of countless Geocaching Prizes. I have got 200 plus caches in one day and I have also got 12 cache types in a day.
There is nothing that I love more than being out geocaching. I will geocache anytime, anywhere, with anyone.
I have included one of the Geocaching poems that I have written. I hope that anyone reading it likes it
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.
* * * * I am currently writing very detailed logs because of a challenge provided by Project-GC called "The Author". This Badge challenges geocachers to write logs with an average one hundred words or more in each log. As of the 20th of April 2019 my average is 110 words per log, which seems close to the 200 words per log target. However given that I have found so many GC caches, I have to write many logs with well over 200 words for a long period of time to get my average up. Apologies to anyone who finds the logs tedious but it is the only way that I can strive to attain this challenge. After more than 5500 aches (which includes all cache finds up and including today I am now entertaining the possibility that I might be able to achieve my task very soon. Progress has been better than anticipated. * * * * *

A plan was hatched, for a group of Canberra (and one Goulburn) Geocachers to stay overnight in Bathurst on a Saturday night and cache our way there and back - mainly doing some of The Road Less Travelled series, and anything else interesting that we were near. So, on Friday afternoon All7 and I met up with Cosmonaut97, who drove us out to Goulburn where we stayed the night with MinnieK (thanks for the hospitality), and then DarkSideDan arrived in the morning and we crammed all our gear into the back of the Cosmonaut Geomobile, all 5 of us climbed in, and we embarked upon our adventure - and what a fun weekend we had! Lots of laughs, some interesting terrain to drive through, and a whole lot of cache finds - so, sorry - most of these logs will be rather generic ... (and also rather late, because I am only just catching up with all the logging now - oops)
Logs were signed as CGG19 by at least a couple of people, or possibly CGC19 by me, because that is what I have written in my notebook (except for the first one I signed, which I think I signed GGC19) ... so I guess our group name was Canberra Goulburn Geocachers, or Canberra Goulburn Cachers, or whatever else anyone else signed - lol)
TFTC - I didn't write draft logs for any of these, because it was too difficult to keep up with that as we went ... and with all the caches we found this weekend - in most cases I don't remember which bit of fun was which particular cache. I did write a few words in my note book for some of them, so I will include those below if I did.
(Unfortunately, if I don't just copy and paste the same log for all these, and try to go through my photos or something, or read the listing and get creative, to figure out different things to write, I will never be able to catch up with my logging, and I don't like being behind).
Not just one, but 3 waterholes ...

This was find #56 of our geocaching weekend. I had the pleasure of completing this adventure with ALL7, minniek, Darksidedan and AyKayEm. Thank you to all of the COs who initiated this track and those who maintain it. TFTC.
Signed CGG19 with Group.. We enjoy drive everywhere and good Laugh... She is very good drive with 4WD.... thanks
Out caching with Cosmonaut97, ALL7, DARKSIDEDAN & Aykayem with an aim to do as many as we could on TRLT series. Signed logs as CGG19 to save space (Canberra Goulburn Group 2019).
Had a long and tiring day finding everything on our list for the day. Thank you to all CO's for their efforts in placing and maintaining the caches for others to find.
Look forward to continuing the trail when I can.

On my way to Bathurst with oldmorty and thought we'd grab a few more of the TRLT Series. Didn't find as many as we wanted to, but there's always another day.

OCW with frazeydaze who had suggested that we grab a few more of the TRLT series on our way to visit family at Bathurst. We targeted the area between Duckmaloi and Tarana although we didn't quite reach Tarana as time ran out. All the caches found turned out to be park and grabs and were in good condition. TFTC whitemushroom and thanks for showing us some lovely countryside.
This was our fourth day on this super long geocaching trail, and so first thing this morning we set off to where we had pulled out of the trail yesterday evening. The weather was perfect and once again we found ourselves travelling through some truly beautiful scenic countryside on interesting roads. We soon found this one once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found - and now to check out the birds at the waterhole! Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe

Back today to do more of this fun series. We love the rural areas so this sort of caching suits us just fine. A lot of work has gone into putting out these caches and we are grateful to the co. Thanks to whitemushroom for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.

Day 5 of our xmas caching trip to complete the trlt series, this afternoon we are joining up with our earlier northern finds. Really appreciate the placing and maintaining of all the caches for our enjoyment. The dams are nicely full. Tftc
A quick and easy drive by while we were in the area. See GC6MKZQ TRLT - No Ducks Here for our master log for this series. We met a lovely fat and healthy blue tongue lizard basking in the sun near here. All of the blueys we encountered around here, and there were several, have some lovely salmon coloured mottling on their backs. Much prettier than the ones back home. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Day 2 of our trip away. Stayed in oberon last night and thought we would head out here to collect a few extra smiley faces. Thankyou for the cache .
The continuation of The Road Less Travelled called us today, so we took up the offer of some more smiley faces for our caching map. We do apologise for the generic log to each of the cache owners. All the caches were easy to locate and our name was written on each log book before it was put back into place. Then we were able to move on to the next find. Thanks to whitemushroom for being a part of TRLT series caching experience.
The Road Less traveled weekend two around Oberon. Day 2. After a great night at Bummeroo ford, I went on the TRLT trail for the day, ending up just past Oberon and spending the night there.

Hi there whitemushroom.
We found your cache **"TRLT - Waterhole Bend"** today. (This makes our find count 17737).
Today we headed out from Oberon so we could attempt some more of the "TRLT" series, plus any others we came across on our travels. We started at "Pine Cone Corner" & from there we proceeded to log caches up to "Stumpy" before heading back to camp. We thoroughly enjoyed today's cache finds, but please excuse our boilerplate logs - we know it's not really a good excuse, but it is really difficult to craft individual logs when we attempt so many similar caches in a day. [:(!]
We found 8 caches today & DNF'd 0. Thanks for placing the cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found most caches within a few metres of where our GPS said we should be looking. [:(!] (We did have to look a little further afield for some though). [:(!] This one was 9 metres away.
**Cache Condition:** Most containers and log books were in good shape but some require a little "maintenance".
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Out and about on a sunny but very windy winters day picking up some more TRLT caches with a couple of others along the way.
All were in good condition and easy to find with only one requiring the GPS to be removed from the holder in the car.
The water hole below the cache had such a thick layer of ice on it that stones I threw from the roadside wouldn't bust through it.

Three geocachers (mizmaz, envirogirl86, and myself) embarked on a monumental long weekend to complete as much of TRLT series as we could.

Having completed the northern end of TRLT nearly two years ago with the Rats, was now time to tackle the southern end during a three day roadtrip with StumbleTrip and Envirogirl86. Smilies gained on 162/165 (with the other 3 either disabled or several dnf logs before us) plus a number of bonus trads/puzzle finds along the way. Though reported as the coldest weekend in 110 years, daylight hours were thankfully quite pleasant and made for a fun girl’s weekend. Apologies for generic logs but all were fairly easy finds with mostly good co-ords or obvious camo.
3 girls (Mizmaz, StumbleTrip and myself), a car, a gps and a sense of adventure resulted in 198 caches over 3 days. And, of course, we decided to go on our adventure on the coldest weekend in 110 years.
My co-adventures were not too keen on taking the Arragog TB (arachnophobes), so I grabbed him and replaced him with the lusty Spiderman TB.

Apologies for the generic log-We found most of the TRLT series were good sized containers and easy finds with only a handful proving to be a bit of a challenge.

Road trip North to tackle The Road Less Travelled Series with JordsAU! I’ve wanted to try this trail for a while but hadn’t found anyone to try it with. I ran it by Jords a few weeks back & after checking the roster for the week, the stars aligned and we started organising it. He was aiming for “200 caches in a day”, so we planned the trail as best we could!
Monday – we drove up to Gulgong to start the trail. We worked our way down to Mudgee (~30 caches) before setting up camp for the night. We had an early night so we could smash out a big day.
Tuesday – packing up at sunrise and setting out, the big day begun! We reached the first 100 by 2:00pm (7 hours elapsed). We were worried that we weren’t going to reach the 200 milestone considered how far we had to go and how long we had been tracking! The stretch from the Great Western Highway to Oberon made great time and we were on 150 caches. Instead of heading into Oberon to set up camp in daylight, we decided the best use of the remaining daylight would be to push through into the night for the last 50. Eventually we were down to the last handful, when we hit an area of the forest that had been logged. To make up the last few, we assumed there would be caches in Oberon, so we drove 50km back to town. We made the 200 at the Oberon Memorial Site and called it a (long) day.
Wednesday – I was all ran down from the big day, so we made our way back home! I found a few in Sydney, and made the drive back down home. It was a good to unpack and have a nice hot shower. Now for the long laborious task of entering these logs!
Thank you to all the Cache Owners along this trail. It was a real joy to visit another part of this great country we call home. It’ll be easier for me to return to the trail via Goulburn/Crookwell to finish off the series (and hopefully visit any further extensions). TFTC’s!

2/5/17 Found with muppet95. Muppet95 mentioned to me that he was keen to hit up The Road Less Travelled series and we decided to take a few days off to go on a bit of a road trip. I wanted to shoot for a goal of finding at least 200 caches in a 24 hours period and we made plans accordingly. We drove up to Gulgong on the first day and arrived in the early afternoon. We started The Road Less Travelled series there and headed south towards Mudgee, picking up approximately 30 geocaches on the way. We spent the night camping on the outskirts of Mudgee and had an early night, with the expectation of an early start to have the best chance of reaching our goal of 200 caches the next day. At the crack of dawn on day 2, we packed up camp and set out on the trail, finding our first for the day at 7 AM. We then spent the next 14 hours travelling The Road Less Travelled, caching the series and picking up some additional caches along the way. We powered on well after the light of day had disappeared, because we were on a mission and were resolute in our efforts to achieve our goal for the day. We reached a point, down near Gurnang in the pine forest, where the area a cache in the series was supposed to be had been logged and we could not continue, without backtracking and going the long way around. We made the decision to turn around and head back to Oberon, where we would pick up the last remaining few to reach our target number. I am very sad to say that on the way out of the pine forest, a wombat ran out as we were driving past and was struck by the underside of the car. We stopped immediately and I rushed over to its aid. The poor thing was in not in a good way and I did what I could to provide some comfort but it faded away within a matter of minutes. The accident is very distressing and upsetting, and it put a real dampener on a long and tiring day. There was nothing we could do at that point, so we continued on our way back to Oberon, picking up some more caches in town. We reached our campsite and setup, keen to rest up and have a deserved sleep in. It was another cold night, definitely dropping below zero degrees. We woke in the morning and, after packing up, we made our way back to the big smoke. Thanks For The Caches to the respective Cache Owners, and for putting this series together, which takes us on a different route along the Road Less Travelled. We will have to come back at another point in the future to try and finish off the series, and hope that one day the series may be extended further for everyone’s enjoyment.
Spent the morning travelling from the highway south towards Oberon along this awesome autumns morning collecting a few caches along the way. Thanks for the maintence of the caches.
Left Greystanes this morning at 7, prepared for a full day of caching with morning tea and lunch water and a thermos of hot water for a few cuppas.
I have been planing this day for a few weeks and last Saturday I went and brought a tomtom to help with my caching. There the week I had help from team GoldJ in Tasmania to run a route pocket query and load it to my tomtom. With that part of my day a success I headed off. Easter Saturday it was prefect weather. This was my first cache for the day I don't know yet how many I get but from the one I tried I only missed 3 so I was really pleased with my effort.heading home I was the Jenolan cave rd it was a bit hairy scary in places, lots of places. The traffic coming home from Hartley where I turned back on the the Great Western Hwy was bumper to bump for a lot of the way so the return trip which should have taken 1:40 took about 2:10. I got home at 7:15. Big day. Great day and great caches.
I would like to thank all the cache owners for placing and maintaining all your caches. Just to let you all know, all caches I found today were in great condition and the logs were fine for sign. Thanks so much for the caches. I will be back to finish the route one day.

I took a good couple of minutes to find this one. The tree cover had the GPS about ten metres out and the hint didn't help as much as it should have.

The WEEO and I had a great time caching all day and yacking as we went along and loved the countryside as we went. Thanks for the work to help make our 3 day caching spree a great time. TFTC
Thanks very much whitemushroom for your efforts in placing caches along The Road Less Traveled trail, seems that you have been busy. 3-Kings and I are following TRLT trail and we do appreciate the efforts you have contributed to our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache.
On a 2 day adventure with Mikev1 to tackle part of TRLT series starting from near Meadow Flat and heading south. All up we found 110 and had 2 DNF. On a bender of caching today.
Apologies for the generic log, but thanks to all the COs for putting this series together. We enjoyed taking these lesser known roads to places I would never pass through normally. There was a wide variety of scenery, vegetation and wild life throughout the journey. All the hints and coords were pretty much spot on. Great effort!

Following a very quick decision I headed off with Brewmaker on the start of a 2 day adventure seeking out The Road Less Travelled series (TRLT) an a few other caches along the drive.
We started half way through the second series and continued on from Meadow Flat then to Tarana, Duckmaloi, Edith, Gingkin, Shooters Hill, Jaunter, Porters Retreat, Black Springs, and Oberon. The roads ranged from tarred to dirt and included part of the historic Cox's Road dating from 1815.
We saw lots of interesting wildlife, farmlands, creatures of various shapes and sizes, and historic items along this tourist trail. Nearly all of the caches were a good size very easy to find - some could be seen before I even got out of the car! A few required a more detailed search but nothing too difficult or strenuous. After a while we could almost guess what the hint was going to be. I still can't get used to the new year - a few of the logs I dated as 2016 - doh.

After much deliberation and comparing of diaries, The Rats, Steeba and I eventually found a weekend that we could all commit to completing the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, along with some caching in Bathurst (which was actually the scene of our first combined geocaching trip nine years ago!). A last minute trip overseas for me cropped up; but I arranged it so that I could fly home just in time to not miss out on this caching extravaganza.
Friday night we headed to Abercrombie River via Goulburn (from Wollongong), and camped at the campsite there. Saturday saw us drive the lower (Southern) half of 'The Road Less Traveled' Series, ending up in Bathurst right on dinner time. We then found some local caches before staying at a friend's house for the night. On Sunday we headed back out to Oberon for some more caches and then did a couple of loops around Bathurst. We had originally planned to stay Sunday night, but once we clicked over 300 finds for the weekend the inspiration started to wane, and we all agreed to turn our heads for home.
Cheers

Nothing beats a "road trip". My find count had been suffering from the "rest of life" getting in the way of caching so along with Steeba and Hoojar a plan was hatched to go "beyond the Great Divide". The 2nd half of the TRLT looked to be the obvious solution. Under perfect skies and with gps loaded we hit the dirt roads.
Our first full day of caching had us weaving our way along the TRLT to a point where we completed the lower section of the series in one day. This half is contrastingly different to the other, but still very spectacular. Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches we found along the way. Apologises for the template style log but with 300 finds for the weekend each container begins to look the same.

The Rats, Hoojar and myself made for the wider Bathurst area for a weekend finding some of TRLT series of caches.
The whole area was quite green and recent rains had meant the grass had exploded everywhere and was 3 or 4 foot high around many of the caches.
Not only did we find plenty of TRLT, there were many 'History of' caches found amongst others. Thanks to all the hiders. TFTC!

Guess who will know where I have been. We went through a swollen creek with 15cm worth of water. The wife was worried that we were going to have to go find a house to get a push to get out out of there. Thanks Mr Mushroom for the experience.
Yes I found it, but blowed if I can remember anything special around here...
Two days of intense caching with J+J.AU. Main target was the part of the road less travelled, but we ended up picking up a lot more caches. The Saturday was ideal caching weather and we moved pretty quick. still there were a few tricky parts of still wet "roads" we had to manage with the 2WD. Not getting bogged was a accomplishment at the end of the day! Sunday started good as well after a overnight in Bathurst, but soon the rain set in and became worse and worse. we were glad we were able to finish this part of our planning just shortly after lunch! Any wetter and a few of the roads we travelled would have become very trick without 4WD. Great weekend and lots of fun thanks to J.AU anfd thanks to all the cachers that put the caches out there!

I joined up with Wilbert67 to make our dent on the road less travelled series this weekend. Saturday turned out to be the better day weather wise with Sunday slowly becoming wetter as the day went on until the afternoon was just a wash out with heavy rain.
We enjoyed the drive around the beautiful fields freshly dotted with newborn lambs as well as abundant wildlife and views at times that are truly to behold. Most of the hides were easily found with different subtle twists that kept the intrigue going.
Thanks to all the geocachers that have injected the work into the series and making the experience possible. Thanks also to my partner in quest Wilbert for the great company once again.
