Under new management, the track in this park is closed due to the mountain's significane to local custodians.
One can only hope the same degree of tollerance and respect is given to others when they act according to their own religious/cultural beliefs.
Hypocrisy is rife!
Regrettably, this cache has to go. I respect the circumstances surrounding this area.

Up for a one man protest about the looming closure of this magical place. Left the Mt Warning Rainforest Park at 3:30am. And wandered up the dark road feeling my way rather than using a torch. Got to the carpark an hour later, turned my head light on and started up this fine mountain that was dedicated to ALL Australians in 1929. The track itself was built by local volunteers 20 years earlier. It's a great trail, pity there has been no substantive maintenance. Lots of work required to clean it up. Passed GZ on the way up but it was too dark to see anything. The chain removed but the outcrop provides a natural staircase. Clear winter skies provided awesome views of the surrounds. Up around 630am. Can't believe anyone would contemplate banning access!
Took some photos and video and had a snack then back down. At GZ found it hard to locate the rocks but eventually located some that looked the part and sent the answers while sitting on some fine 100 year old stone masonary. Thanks for placing. Hopefully some sense prevails and our children will be able to share the same awe and wonder.

Fav point.

went for a trek to get to the top unfortunatly my hip started to give out, so as i was close enough to this earth cache decided that would be my turn around point could of made it all the way if the road was open and we didn't have to walk 3.5k UPHILL just to get to carpark, will def try again 'when road is open' lol but loved the adventure to this cache all the same, TFTC

This is a great one if you like to walk continuously uphill for a couple of hours, and of course follow that with a lovely track back down guaranteed to turn legs to jelly. (If you are getting long in the tooth like myself) I have loved this formation from afar and have had it on my bucket list for a while now. Glad to have finally given it a go. It’s a pity there was too much haze for the camera to pick up the coastline, but from here (well above GZ) with the naked eye we could see the white speck that is the Byron lighthouse.

I never managed to get down to mt warning while living in Brisbane but finally today I can tick this one off the bucket list! We started nice and early, which turned out to be a good thing because this is a very popular track. Although steep, it was pretty easy going and we made it up in good time, stopping along the way to collect this earth cache. Great views despite the overcast day. Thanks for the extra smiley along the way. Answers messaged to co. Tftc

On a road trip with muggle mates to the north of NSW. Camped at Forest Tops Camp in the Border Ranges NP and headed for the climb up Mt Warning today. Stopped to get info for this EC in the way. Answers sent to CO. My first (or is it 2nd?) RoddyC cache. Finally made it to the summit BTW to log the cache with plenty of phone signal up there. Unfortunately the views were ruined by the bushfires around the region. TFTEC

Answers sent. We found this on the way back from the summit. It was only 400 m away directly but was a long steep walk as the path switched back several times. Interesting information in a great location gets FP from me. TftEC.

Early Monday morning Wayn0 and I decided to watch the sun rise ...from the top of this mountain. To anyone thinking of doing the same - do not leave ANYTHING valuable in your car, like geocaching ladder and geocaching ropes, hiking boots, etc etc.

We picked a good day really - our view was so clear. It was amazing. The sun rise on the other hand was blocked by cloud. But it was about the experience. And the pain during the walk and for days after was well worth it. haha.

TFTEC Smile

Dora the Explorer!, Phil Serenity and I and climbed Mount Warning to complete the multi cache that is there. We stopped by this Earthcache on our way down.

It was misty rain and heavy cloud so we had no views at any point on the mountain but the hike was good.

Interesting geology in the whole of the scenic rim and this part of the world.

Thanks for the Earth Cache ***RoddyC***

Short but exhausting walk within a beautiful forest. Sadly it was very cloudy, so we didn't have good views. Anyway, great place.

Have sent answers - hopefully they are correct - I could only get within 14 metres of GZ so guessed where the spot was supposed to be. I think this is my third time up mount warning - went to the top and was a nice clear view (despite light rain on the way) - TFTC

TFTC,

Heading north for a get together at Uki.
I have been up here 3 times before and this was the second time I have been able to see anything. It was great to be able to make the climb to the top with Tronador, Nana nel and The Hancock Clan.
I have sent the answers by message for us all.
Lets hope that no one else decides to place a cache up here. Todays walk was hard. I hope it was because of the wet surfaces after last nights rain rather that my poor fitness level.

Visited trackables.

We made the trek up here today with tronador, Wazza9 and Nana Nel. We were very lucky as the views were nice and clear. Being a weekend, the walk was very busy and it's shocking to see how many were unprepared with wrong footwear, no water or warm clothing etc. Suffice to say we came across several people with injuries or suffering from exhaustion. Although it's a pretty demanding walk, we actually expected it to be quite a bit tougher. The chains were good fun! This earthcache made a good excuse to stop on the way up, and we enjoyed discussing the questions, coming up with our answers that Wazza9 has sent through. Thanks for taking the time to set up this earthcache!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

We made the trek to the top on a beautiful day. The fog was no where to be seen. Wazza9, Nana Nel, and The Hancock Clan stopped at GZ to do this Earthcache. We discussed the answers and Wazza9 sent them off on behalf of our group.
Thanks for the cache.

Left Brisbane at 1:30 and arrived at the base at 3:30am, a huge group arrived at the same time as us, we were surprised how busy it was. It was a long climb to the top admist lots of fog and light rain. We were quite glad to finally see the chain and know the summit would soon be reached. A muddy climb up and we were finally there. Unfortunately though so we’re the rain clouds, though the sun did try and peak out a few times. We did this earth cache on the way back down. TFTC

{*FTF*} at 0700 Qld Time on 12/1/18.

Today is the last day of my holidays and I was considering an early morning walk to clear my head before the working year ahead. The newish cache at Echo Point (on the edge of the caldera) was my original target, but when this one was published (and still needing this months FTF to maintain the monthly streak), I decided to head further south of the border.

I had a pretty early start this morning (0330 alarm) trying to beat the heat. It was very muggy as I climbed, I wish I had left an hour earlier. The dawn parade were on their way down as I trudged my way up the hill. The Christmas season has been kind to me - too much good food, good drink and no exercise. Not unsurprisingly, I struggled with the fast pace I set and paid for it with a very slow trudge over the last kilometre or so to the top .

A bit past halfway up, I came across this cache, considered the answers and **MESSAGED** the CO from GZ. Of course, it would be rude to only climb half a mountain. So on I continued, up the path, along the chain to the summit.

To the top and back is just under 9 km's in 4 hours total - with 40 well spent minutes enjoying the cooling breeze and the view at the top.

Many thanks Roddy C

Pete
