Awesome spot for a cache, the oldies didnt want to come up and get it so it was up to the three youngins to get it. After a nice stroll up we grabbed it logged out find and headed back down. Thank you for the find
Making our way from haunted Stream to Dargo this Anzac weekend with@searchingformacca and @mayfam.What a lovely, well-kept Rec Reserve and Cemetery. Have been to King Cassilis Mine many times, but never here. TFTC
The hint said high, someone definitely was, lol, very steep and slippery. with jeffner5556
If I'd known it would be that difficult for an old duck, I would have left it. Finally found it with Sarge5556 tftc.
Found It!
Nice little park you'd never know about if not for this cache. It had just been freshly mowed today as well. After a short walk I got to GZ and soon found the cache.

We have set up camp at Omeo for the Easter break. Having a slow morning decided to grab some lunch to have down at the Oriental Claims Historic Area. Made our way to Cassilis Pioneer to find someone had set up camp nearby (not sure if I would be too comfortable camping adjoining a cemetery) thankfully it looked like they had gone out for the day so we were able to make the find.
Thanks sedane

After buying lunch at the bakery in Omeo, we done the Cassilis loop.
The Cassilis loop, sound something you would hear in the a space scifi movie.
Once at parking near GZ, I was glad the campers were out of camp, while we made the finding.

Pretty little area out in the hills. Dont think this one will be found by accident any time soon.
Socks now full of grass seeds. Thanks sedane for bringing me to this lovely location.

YAY I found Cassilis Pioneer today while out exploring our High Country. Thanks sedane for setting up this cache. This is such a peaceful area to visit. I enjoyed my time exploring this spot.
PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me today on my great caching adventures.

This was found on the day we drove Charlotte Spur Track. Not recommended!
It has now got to the stage where we have over 750 draft logs waiting to be completed. These range back over at least a couple of years.
We are not a fan of generic logs but with everything that has been on our plates recently we reluctantly have to admit this may be the only way we can get this back log cleared. If your cache is in our backlog it usually means it is one that we wanted to spend more time creating a much more bespoke log than this. But we are not managing to achieve that goal. So in the interests of getting the backlog cleared we have decided to resort to this long form of TFTC as a way of getting a large number of them cleared.
We apologise for the lack of commentary specific to your cache or event. We are somewhat targeted in what we go after. There are unfounded caches within a few kilometres of our home which we published before we started 8 years ago. We have just never got around to o looking for them. We like unusual cache types, puzzles in particular, older caches, and tend to target a much more wider group of caches when we travel. We like remote caches and caches that bring us to an interesting place. It is likely that this cache found its way into our find list because it fits one of these criteria.
As cache owners we appreciate the effort that goes into hiding and maintains caches so thank you for that.

Some freedom at last after a rather challenging year under a certain leadership. It was nice to be up in the high country breathing in some fresh air. I thoroughly enjoyed my time up here what with the beautiful scenery and the sounds of the birds chirping. A nice little tranquil spot to stop and take it all in.
**Thanks to sedane for placing this cache.**

On our way back home via the scenic route after a ripper Easter weekend with Jascat.
This is a nice green spot that we wouldn't have known about, and it was nice and quiet here today which meant we didn't have to explain to anyone why we walking past the POI and wandering up the hill...
A nice quick find and sign and we wandered back down on our stiff legs to continue our trip.
Cheers

Out on a day trip circuit from Omeo, checking out the local site and grabbing a cache or two.
Very much enjoyed this location, it's great to see the locals really trying to spruce up an area, and doing a good job as well. Had a wander around the pioneer cemetery as well.

Dead quiet here, especially just before Christmas.
Reserve is still a bit plain, will look better once the trees grow.

Really enjoyed the visit to the cemetery and reading about some of the occupants. Found the grandfather of a fellow we just met, if it wasn’t for the rain (which is needed) we would have a nice picnic. TFTC
Found This one on a visit to the Cassilis cemetery where my father ashes are and a memorial tree was planted for him. Three of his grand children came to visit the memorial. I have visited this area many times as I helped build the first house on the left as you come up Cemetery Rd. This house was built by my parents as a holiday house and they spent a lot of time up here. I bought my young family up here a number of times before the house was sold. Thanks for placing this ache here.
Found late in the afternoon with the sun low and shining through the cemetery. Tftc
A great day now after the foggy start earlier, so much so we've taken our jumpers off.
A pleasant stroll to GZ for this easy find. Thanks Sedane.

What an odd little place. We found it fascinating to explore.
The cache was found nice and clean and still full of swag. Geogirl swapped a bottle opener for a clapping hand toy and tiny plate.
Thank you for bringing us here sedane.

After camping in Jokers Flat for a week it was time to head home picking up some caches along the way to break the journey. This was the second one for the day. We headed off the Omeo Highway onto the Cassilis Road to pick up this cache. Once we found the right dirt road and arrived in the vicinity of GZ it was a steep climb to the cache on this very hot day. TFTC TNLN. A great spot for a picnic if it wasn't so hot and we had more time.
What a beautiful resting spot
Found the cache after a short steep walk
Cache ingood condition
Thank you

Rather then just head through Swifts Creek to Omeo, and beyond via the Great Alpine Road (aka Omeo Highway in a past life), we decide to take the Cassilis Road. This was a good choice because we were able to pick up a couple of caches enroute - this being the first - and visit a couple of places we haven't been to before. Nice place!

We have been slowly making our way from Queensland down to Victoria to attend the Alexandra Mega Event and finding a few caches along the way. We decided to stay for a few days in Dinner Plains and today we took a day trip to Omeo to explore the area a little We had a great time learning about the history of the town and could only imagine the hardships that the early pioneers had to endure
We had no difficulty in locating the cache and with our name added to the logbook, we continued on our way
Thank you sedane for having placed the cache and maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

More steep hills! This trip has been full of them, but we have been travelling in the high country! I went to right spot, was tricked by something else in the vicinity, GPS then said a few more metres that way. I got there and it said back where I was in the first place. I had a more thorough search and the cache was found. Delightful place! TFTC

Picked this up while having a few days away with Crusty K9. What a delightful area. I've travelled past here many times without knowing it existed. tftc.
Another great, and when we were there, peaceful location... although the large family of roos enjoying their shaded home were a bit miffed at having to share the spot briefly. TFTC.
Have been to the cemetery many times, great to see some of the local area's history shared
Melbourne Cup day seemed a good time to venture North into Omeo territory. This was our first cache on a beautiful sunny day. Such a well maintained footy ground and cemetery, a credit to the few remaining residents of the picturesque area. The cache was found after a bit of huffing and puffing, it was nice and dry. Thanks sedane for placing a cache here for our enjoyment.

Came up here in May and thought this would be a great place to put cache so thanks for putting one here
Found with sheppythekid and geokids, introduced neice to caching. Had a kick off the footy on the rec ground then checked out the cemetery. The area is green and lush at the moment and very pretty, then off to king cassilis, lots of relics there. Thanks sedane for bringing us here. Bwbandit
After a VERY cold morning, the day was fine and warm. Balmy for this time of year. What better for a drive in the mountains to grab a couple of caches. Frozen snow at higher altitudes on the way to this site, but roads good but wet and muddy.
Much easier to get to this site than it was 20 years ago. It is good to see these historic sites being looked after. The area is a delight, and the cemetery very interesting. Not much evidence of the large number buried here now, but those graves showing well looked after.
Cache was found quickly in a likely looking place, and is in good condition. Was very surprised to find an empty log book, so FTF. TNLN. SL and rehid the cache.
Back to wandering around, then back to the vehicle.
