Logs
Suspect this one may have been washed away. There is mud and debris everywhere. We looked everywhere underneath with a torch and could see no sign of any cache. We hope that we are wrong. We have been caching in the area for the last few days and it is clear that the rivers are up a fair way and have flooded a fair bit.
Found at 11.20am. An enjoyable wander around town. We walked through the caravan park to reach gz. Few people camped this weekend.

A lot easier than a 3. Probably because it was on the ground. Tried to hide it in the same spot but better. TFTC.
Cache was a we bit wet and log was damp. Took it into the car to dry it off. Hopefully will stay nice and dry for the future logs. TFTC. Nice spot to stop.
Had to wait for fishing muggles to leave. Then searched many places and had to get a long stick to retrieve. Got there eventually. No platypus today but did see a cormorant diving for fish. Thanks.
thanks for the cache we tried a few spots requiring superhuman strength and balance and finally looked in the right spot.
Lovely arvo out caching with dive wombat, sun has come out and enjoying some relaxing caching, nice quick and easy find. TFTC
Another early morning caching run, but a late start for me with the sun already above the horizon.
Second visit to this location and having the place to myself, I was able to quickly find it in the second place I looked. Even with all the protection, it still has a very wet log paper.
Thanks for the cache H_3

A lovely stroll this afternoon brought me to this spot that I visited in an earlier incarnation. Thanks for bringing me back here today H_3, it was very peaceful.
Attempted this one on previous occasions without success. Finally found it today! TFTC
LawtonCat birthday adventure
Over from the uk started in Perth for 5 night in Melbourne for 3 night before our 4 day road trip stoping at Moama Echuca Bendigo and on to the great ocean road. Caching all the way.

Out for a morning coffee run following a wedding in the bay yesterday. Spent a little time hunting around where my phone settled but eventually found the cache 5-6m away from my initial target zone. No-one but the ducks and I here this morning, very peaceful
Thanks H_3 for placing this Micro Traditional - this is find 1579 for BFMC

The container was a bit wet but the log was dry. I emptied out the water and dried everything a little.

Found on a walk from Marengo to Apollo bay. Beautiful relaxing spot on the river. No platypus today though.
gatta nera and Hai Happen married! and what comes after a marriage? ok, her name is still gatta nera and not yet gatta Happen, but would be quit interesting
so, next is honeymoon
so, the decision was made, it should go to Australia, with a 12 hour stop over in Singapore to check out the bay area.
today we travelled from Apollo Bay to Lorne, as we had plenty of time, first walked around in Apollo Bay and had a look for some Caches around.
While heading to Lorne, we stopped at Kennet River and drove up the Grey River Road and could spot some Koalas, partial right next to the road

Hai Happen
Today, Hai Happen and I searched some geocaches in the surroundings of Apollo Bay, before moving on towards Lorne. This was one of them. We searched for quite some time with no success, so Hai Happen started studying previous logs. After we gave it another try, we could find the container. There was also some kind of mount on the box, but it was not attached to anything, but laying on the ground. We could just guess, that this might have to do with the "rusty wire" we read about in one of the earlier logs.
The spot is really nice, though. We didn't see any platypus, but I guess that's no surprise, when I think of how long we were searching there, trying to get shoes clean again - and how shy these animals are.
Thank you for bringing us here and for the cache!

Went back twice and no luck ... must be to logical for me. Perhaps it’s missing
After visiting the local Show, which we thoroughly enjoyed, we walked over to look for this one, but after 15 minutes gave up.
Found on a great weekend away, checking out the Red Woods and a couple of falls and staying at the nearby caravan park in our swag. TFTC
The walk to here from where we are camped is particularly pretty. I found this cache after a bit of a hunt, and took the TB with me for an adventure in Melbourne.

Invigorated by our Cape Patton caving adventure we set a course to seek some local caches jointly unfound by au.fait and ourselves.
We were a little apprehensive here, with a camper van parked almost within reach of the cache. Luckily for us, the occupants were totally focussed on their music and of course, we were determined to spot a platypus.
Discovered TB 'Lackey Tag' (TB7JPM5)13:56
Thanks to 'H_3' for placing this cache on the geo-gameboard.

An early morning start to combine with Phetlern for some caching with the main target being The Cave of Cape Patton. After that it was Apollo Bay/ Marengo area and the hinterland. Sounded a great plan there was a campervan parked right by the dock so some stealth was required here TFTC H-3
With the weather much brighter we decided on a walk this afternoon to Marengo, via the caching route of course. This one took us a minute or two to find but the cache was all good.
Oops,..., looked like we were searching with our eyes closed. Found it eventually in a logical place...

At the end of another great day during our week at Apollo Bay we made a brief stop of the way back to our accommodation hoping to find this cache. I had a little trouble at first, a bit of GPSr tunnel vision, but eventually I had the cache in hand.
Thanks H_3

Didn’t see any platypus but we did see a curious cow who’d come down to have a drink at the creek. A nice place to stop for a cache. TFTC
first cache of the day. i didn't have to search long. unfortunately, the container won't be properly attached for much longer (rusty wire). TTFC!
Staying a few days in the area with MazzyMay we had a look and found it. Having had a look for this one without finding it but this time we found it. TFTC
Holidaying in the area, this was our first cache attempted while waiting to book into accommodation. Much easier this time after a DNF a year ago. Needs a little attention. TFTC
Found it. Log was a bit damp so left to dry for a bit in the sun as we sat and enjoyed this nice little spot.

J&I found on a weekend in Apollo Bay. Looked everywhere then there it was. Nice little Container, tftc and bringing us somewhere we wouldn't have otherwise seen:)

An early morning trip to pick up most of the caches left around Apollo Bay. Drove up a very pretty road (or 2 actually) and enjoyed the less known corners around here as well as town itself were it was still very quiet!

Camping at Apollo Bay for Easter so exploring the area via geocaching (as one does)! Quick find by the littlest geokid who was on board with me today. Just up the river was a caravan camping - beaut spot! Many thanks for the cache.
With a few new caches in Apollo Bay that were showing up as still unfound combine with a Public Holiday the tomorrow Ausfox;. Neville Devil and myself decided we would head over from Geelong for a late night caching run (Very Late night). Arriving in the Bay at around 10:30pm after a relatively uneventful drive. The drive home leaving the Bay around 2am was not so nice and uneventful. Three times I had to go into full emergency braking mode, with Kangaroos deciding my car was the center of attention for the night. The first two were just very near misses but the third roo after I had narrowly missed in with the passenger front end decided to turn back towards the car nudging the car around the back passenger door. Luckily there was no damage to the car only to our underwear
After we had completed the new series we continued on caching cleaning up smileys. I was in Apollo Bay with the family last month and we made a half attempt at finding this one at the time but there were a couple unloading kayaks and preparing for a paddle that hampered our efforts. Tonight at stupid o'clock we had no such problems and I found the cache without too much trouble. I am sure even in our half attempt I looked there. Oh well sometimes that is caching
Thank you H_3 for the smiley

A last minute decision to head down the coast with simsfamily and Neville devil to grab a few caches before it was muggle central. With had a near misses with Roos along Skeenes creek road which made for an intresting drive home with Simsfamily doing well to avoid a serious incident.
We had the place to ourselves to have a thorough search of the area. Sims family was able to make the find.
Log signed and replaced as found
Thanks for the cache H_3

Made so much harder work of this than needed.
High low in and out.
Plenty of cobwebs round.
In the end it was not as tricky as I thought it would be.
While here I recieved a hand from a friendly cacher.

Wasn’t the first on spot this morning and got talking to an Aussie guy that was on the same hunt I was. It took us a while checking different options until he suddenly had it in hand. Thanks for the help
Going from a hint by a previous geocacher I noticed what it may have been attached to which may be compromised. Please check if possible, will try again if I read a confirmed finding after this post. Lovely spot to geocache..
Had to wait for ages for a pair of French tourists in a camper to move on. They turned up whilst I was sheltering under a nearby tree from the rain. Sat and sketched the scene while waiting them out. I really need to work on trees and water and well everything.
Thanks for bringing me here

Tried for this one yesterday but managed to dropped phone in river retrieved but alas no good came back today with iPad soon had in hand I will always remember this one
This took a while. Not sure it was In the correct place going by the attached wire- our gps had us 5m away! Contact me if you want me to describe where it was. TFTC
Parking was clear for us and we had the place to ourselves so hubby and I started on opposite ends and it was hubby that came up with the container. We didn't see any platypus today. SL TFTC
Found it! There was a camper van taking up the whole parking bay! Muggle Heather stuck her head underneath and spotted something unusual. It wasn’t the cache! I found it in the second place I looked. Replaced it and hope it will be secure! TFTC SL
No luck for us today! Had a nice walk though and talked to some people from Denmark (Scandinavia) who were fishing on the dock. Had to explain what we were doing. They were very interested but we couldn't find the cache to show them
Spent a fair bit of time on this one. Looked extensively around GZ but to no prevail. Oh well may come back next year some time. Don't think the cache is missing or anything. Tftc anyway.
Suscoe was in town today on a FTF hunt which was successful.
Seeing that this cache was back up and running we dropped by here and were able to sign the replacement log. The rain kept falling and the wind kept blowing.
This is a beaut spot and we always enjoy dropping by here.
We have even had a close encounter with a platypus in the river infront of the dock one night while fishing. It watched us watching it.
Thanks to H_3 for this hide, a favourite from us for the delightful memories it brought back.

Found a spot that looked like it should have a cache in it, but alas no luck. Could it have been muggled?
Beautiful spot though, so we'll be back again

No such luck today, found something that looked very much like it could be part of a well designed hide but no cache to be found there.
Not sure about this one. We found where we thought the cache might have been, but looking at the Difficulty rating I'm not so sure! It's a lovely spot - I'm more than happy to come back for another attempt!
After 20 years of marriage we decided to take a break in our busy schedule and go to Apollo Bay for the weekend. Unfortunately this was our first DNF but we weren't too fussed with this one. The amount of recent rain had the water level up to the floor boards of this jetty. We'll try again next time we're here.
