Found with the Nelson crew on our way to the Barossa for a few nights caching. Everything has been going well on this trip

01-Mar-24
How very exciting the big trip has finally arrived! Down from Brisbane with a host of other geo friends with plans aplenty, enough to almost see us needing to extend or make a return visit. Our geonick for the trip is BOLD9 which is guaranteed to save the log paper for the 9 individual members of the team. As we make our way around sadly there wont be time for the usual individual logs and therefore just the old generic log will have to do. With little extra notes here and there if needed. Thank you for your cache which has added to my wonderful caching holiday. All challenges will be checked for qualifying at a future time.

Found with SPINBNZ Team Nice easy find this is a gorgeous Barossa Valley thanks LB

01-Mar-24
With the Adelaide mega event now a mild hangover past, it was time to collect interesting geo-art and cache types while the BOLD09 are based in Adelaide. Today's focus was the Barossa and to pick the grape geo-art.This is my second trip to the Barossa in the last 9 months. On my first visit I picked up a few of the Barossa Trail series and talked up the series enough that the BOLD09 got sick of my moaning and relented that we'd stop for 10ish caches as the attributes are needed for a challenge back in Brissy. Cherry picking the ones close to road intersections. This was a quick find.Well done LB for your efforts and making caching the main reason we should visit the Barossa!! Well not quite, the BOLD09 did visit a winery later in the day just before knock off time. Apologies on writing generic logs in most cases with this series.

Caching as team SPBINZ: Sidewaze, Paddlechick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie. This trip has been a "game of three thirds" for us. First we visited the Yorke Peninsula, staying at Wallaroo and then at Port Vincent. Then it was a couple of nights in the city, attending the Mega and looking to get the maximum number of cache types we could, a couple of hidden months for members of the team and lots of caches that crossed our paths. Now we're off to tour the Barossa Valley, visit a few trails, find lots of caches and generally have a good look around. One of our missions will be to put that bunch of grapes back together. No-one is really into wine-tasting, well put it this way, we'd all rather be geocaching, so geocaching it is , though I'm very pleased to say geocaching took us to several beautiful wineries.I do get a bit side-tracked when I'm caching and take time to enjoy the local flora and fauna. The plants are so obviously adapted to life in a dry climate, the birds are colourful and screechy, and the ants - - well, I've never seen such large ants or had such a vicious bite from an insect. There are lots of scenic views too, some of which attract action from my camera but of course many that just form part of the overall experience.Oh, but of course I also take my turn driving and sometimes I'm first out of the car and into the hunt, though I'm probably number 5 on the success stakes when it comes to finding the slightly elusive hides .

Oh My, not sure what day number this is cache wise nor what caches I did yesterday, we have been caching for a while and the days and the caches seem to run into each other now. We started early today and had the Grapes geoart in mind, along with some special caches as we passed. It will be nice to hopefully have another art completed without any holes. To save space on log sheets we signed as BOLD 9. I like this area and the caches were different in parts. Some nice puzzles to solve and some good placements. We thought we were going to be short on one cache but we ended up finding the bison on the ground. A quick tie up and all good to go. Thanks for the caches and the hides, sorry for the generic logs.

01-Mar-24
BOLD9 headed out to the Barossa to pick some grapes plus a few others! Thanks for all the fab caches

01-Mar-24
I was in Adelaide for the Mega and came across this series. I was out caching with a group of friends (BOLD9), and this was one that we found. I liked this series, and it would've been excellent to do on a bike or scooter, but unfortunately, we only had a car, so we couldn't get the entire series. Thanks for the cache; I have so many logs to do that I have to complete bulk logs; all caches were in good condition unless noted.

Visited as part of the "BOLD9" group. TFTC!

Southern Autumn adventure Day 41. Mid North section of SA trip Day 12. Barossa Valley Day 4. I left Nuriootpa today for Gawler. It was not far, so I got up early and did a bit of local caching before checkout time. Once I had the van hooked on, I went into town for a few caches and a chat to SnappyTomCats at their very impressive shop. After morning tea, I headed off to Gawler and setup even though I was a bit early. The afternoon was spent on the Barossa trail caches, and wow, I thought some of the NTA trail caches were impressive. Some of these were just plain difficult, to the extent I missed a good handful of them. Oh well, it was a fun day and I enjoyed the challenge.

I jumped on my scooter and worked my way along this track for 20 finds. It was hard work, some are just devious.

Thanks for the cache LíB

Day seventeen of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
With Sunday's crappy weather all finished, we set of on the deadly treadlies to complete some more of the Barossa Trail. We drove to Lyndoch, and then rode to the start of the trail then back to the Bakery at Lyndoch for lunch.
After lunch we did a few more back towards Rowland Flat, and then a few odd ones.
A nice collection of caches, and a great ride.

We had not seen one of these (at this stage!), very cute
Thanks, Robmc.

#19342. Day 17 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. After a miserable day weather-wise yesterday it was back to the bicycles today with the hope of making a big dent in the Barossa Trail caches. We parked at Lyndoch and rode towards Gawler - starting at #40 and gathering all that were available until we finished at #1. 2 1/2 hours to do that and another 1/2 hour to ride back for our lunch stop. After lunch we did a few more before returning to base at Tanunda. A great day's ride and so many interesting cache hides.

This one had us going for a while but just as I was about to ride on Rob found it. Nice little hide.

Thanks LíB

Today I decided to go for a walk and do some of the Jack bobridge trail on foot, off I set from #10 through to #36, total of 11km return. Some of the caches were tough to find others a lot easier, it appeared once I got the hang of the hides they became easier to located.
All the caches found are in good condition.
Thanks for the cache.

Old cache was here but camo had been removed... temp cache in place

26-Jul-20
Today I started on Twartz rd then did the meat trail by push bike. Slipped through Gawler and hit the start of the Barossa Trail. I need a good bunch on the western end, and a smattering of missed ones in the middle. I still had a few misses, but chuffed at turning my previous frowns into smileys. The day finished on the bike at Jacobs Creek complex, when the sun decided to fade. It was time to head home for some pasta, wine and to log the days finds.

I tried a new technique today of recording personal notes rather than logging in the field (LITF) so save some daylight time during caching.

This one was a previous DNF but I must not have logged that. Again I went round and round, climbed up and nothing. Cant believe this, others find it easy. Standing there just looking in disbelief. Then I see it. So sneaky, not even a lid, just staring at me, log roll showing in all its glory. Extracted and signed and put back as it was. So pleased to have this as a smiley. Great work here, as always, a super series this. Not a quick one, but very rewarding.

Thanks, LíB for your considerable efforts on these bike tracks. Hopefully, we will be able to return one day to complete them. This is our last day of caching in SA before racing back to the West before the borders close.

This cache was found on our Geocaching road trip from Perth to Millicent for the now-cancelled, GeoVenture2020 Event.

We had visited this GZ twice before without much luck. Persistence pays!! We now have only a few of this trail to revisit (because I couldn't find them, Mr Frog has better eyes than me!)

25-Mar-19
Today we headed north from where we are staying to look for caches along the Jack Bobridge Trail. We looked for over 45 of them and found nearly all. We want to go back and look again for the two that we missed now that we have had the opportunity to read other logs. The caches today that we visited were outstanding. There is such a variety of high quality hides. So much care and effort has gone into the design, construction and placement of the caches. It was a very enjoyable caching experience.

Despite accurate coordinates, it took a few minutes of hunting before this very well presented cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 3LG for this cache and a very high quality series.

19-Mar-19
Another good find. The Starfish has good eyes!

19-Mar-19
Always good to come and pick up a previous DNF.

Took a bit of searching and some keen eyes spotted it

I can see why I missed this one at night time.

Thanks for the cache 3LG.

The weather was perfect for caching today and so was the series of caches we had decided to look for!

3LG has done an amazing job on a series of very clever hides - we were constantly impressed by the variety, cleverness and trouble taken over each one.

F-Llama and Miss_Bovine are looking forward to returning another time to find more along the Jack Bobridge Trail.

Of the 43 we looked for today, we found all except 4. We will return to look again when we are next in the Barossa.
