A nice offset multi and a great sized cache at GZ.We headed off down the Great Ocean Road for a few days for a belated wedding anniversary celebration. The weather was kind and the scenery along the road spectacular. We based ourselves in Lorne and then tripped around checking out the local places. While we had visited the area some time ago it was great to spend more time exploring the area, and of course the caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Wiser than Owls.**SKI Pair****
We have got way behind in our logging and are trying to catch up and get our caching in order.Life has been pretty hectic this year, and a lot of it has gotten in the way of efficient logging of finds. We want to thank all the Cache owners for providing an array of caches for us around our countryside and in our cities. We apologise for the generic logs. We must do this to get through the backlog.Unless otherwise specified, all the caches we found were in good order.Thank you, Wiser than Owls, for this Multiache.
Today we headed out from Winchelsea to do our second day on the GOR. We made our way down through Wensleydale and picked up a few trads in tiny little none weatherproof pots. Nice little series. Then on to Anglesea which seemed to be very hipster/surfer vibes and we enjoyed a nice walk around The Wetlands, more caches and ate our packed lunch at one of the murals. Onwards to Aireys Inlet to visit the lighthouse and more caching. Lorne was our last stop on GOC seemed to be a bit more exy here and lots of posh Melbs people here . Back to Winchelsea via Erskine Falls, surprised no cache there and via Bambra area to collect some super cool woodland caches. Ran out of time to do everything we wanted but you can never get them all .Thanks to all the CO for some really great hides and especially to Bushfire we were sad to read of ill health.Cant begin to describe what an utter stuff up of this I made. We did a 400m each way walk to the final which wasnt the final . Recalculated and found cache in a much more suitable spot, we did enjoy our walk though . TFTC
A quick one with two possible answers. Do we count fox dogs cats as mammals? As they are all placental mammals!! Backbones, live birth hair and suckle their young. Hmmmm. A fun on a trip from Geelong to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Road. Thanks Wiser than Owls and clear skies from TeamAstro. Heading down along the Great Ocean Road towards Adelaide, caching as we go, loving the scenery which is the best in the world!Bit confused about the mammals but logic kicked in with the numbers and the cache was soon found. Thanks Wiser than Owls for bringing me here and contributing to this great game for others to enjoy. Happy trails, Deanside
What a stunning coastline! Quickly calculated the coordinates and was soon on GZ. Took 2 of the 4 track ablest and will redistribute them shortly. TFTC
Find # 12703
Found with Tyred n Cranky.
A family weekend away in Anglesea. Down here to enjoy and cache the area.
Last time I was in Anglesea was Oct 2018 and I had left a few unfound. So back again to claim some more finds in the area and tackle the AdLabs.
Quick workout of GZ and off to a quicker find.

Find No. 4171. Found at 9.00am.
In Anglesea for a couple of days with Geodog Penny on board and staying at 'Maroo Park Cottages'
Today we went for a drive down to Lorne, finding a few caches along the way.
On the outskirts of Aireys Inlet we went and found this one.
Worked out the co-ords from the sign then a short walk down the path to locate the cache.
Geodog Penny is enjoying her walks she is having so far today.
Cache found, log signed and off we drove to the next one on our list for the day.

Wow it’s been ages since I went after a geocache! Simple enough to solve the coords but think I approached GZ the wrong way initially given all the spider webs I went through. Took 3 of the 6 trackables; will redistribute soon!
I found this cache while travelling along the Great Ocean Road as I slowly made my way from Adelaide towards the Mega event over Easter at Rutherglen.
After collecting the required information and determining the final coordinates, it was off to GZ a short distance away for a quick find.
Cache and contents are in good condition.
Thanks Wiser than Owls for the cache.

We continued today our tour in Victoria, AUS, and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Multi-Cache.
The weather was - said in one word – simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood.
The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging.
Thanks to Wiser than Owls for the generation of this nice cache Surf Coast - Coastal Heathlands (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.
PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they appeared.
Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood.

Another day on the Great Ocean Road. The weather in the morning was not so good. We decided that we do some labcaches in Aireys Inlet. Meanwhile, we also did some other geocaches. What a beautiful enviroment, we enjoyed it very much.
We often log with our initals TGM (Team_Geo-Meijer)
Greetings from the Netherlands.
A very nice walk along the cliffs.
We left a lot of TB's in this cache as a start for a TB race.

I took my niece and family away on their first camping trip. We headed down to Anglesea for the weekend and my niece had a ball. Beach, pool, jumping pillow, and sleeping in a tent all rolled into one. We packed up this morning and after an ice cream at the great ocean road chocolate emporium we went our separate ways, with me going caching if course.
By this time I had made my way south of Anglesea for a few more caches. I gathered the info and made a relatively quick find on this one.
Thanks Wiser than Owls for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

TFTC! 11 June 2022 4:15:08 pm 2959 thanks for bringing us here, really nice views!
Made a quick calculation and short walk to the gz!
So thought I'd get out of Melbourne over Easter and find a few caches, I'd just hit my 1000th cache so thought I can't stop there.
For this trip I visited Aireys Inlet and had a beautiful cottage for 5 days, took some long walks along the waters edge and even ventured into Lorne for an Adventure Cache.
The wife tagged long with me to this wonderful spot. Lots of caches nearby and a great adventure cache as well.
What a great spot to go find some caches.
Thanks for the cache and the hide

We found your cache while enjoying the views on our way to Wye River. The sun was making an appearance which made for an enjoyable walk to gz. We feel grateful to finally be out and about and able to enjoy some travelling time.
Thank you for your cache and adding to our road trip memories.

It was a beautiful day for a drive. I read the sign, did the count, crunched the numbers and headed towards GZ via a bit of a bush bash. I found the cache, signed the log and as is always the way with me, found a perfectly good track out. Thanks WTO for the multi.
This is the type of simple counting that I can do and not make mistakes on
Quite windy and nice waves down below as I arrived, then a quick walk and quick find at GZ.
Proceeded to walk along the cliff tops towards the lighthouse which was certainly scenic.
Thanks for the cache.

We were down in Aireys Inlet looking for at some holiday house options for the Winter Holidays if things continue well for COVID-19 so I took the chance to get a taste of what the caches were like down here as well. We had just completed the short Iron Bark Gorge Walk then came back this way to grab the cache. Got the info at WP1 quickly then moved to GZ and picked up the find as well.
Thanks for the hide Wiser than Owls, great views , looking forward to doing more of yours if we come down here for a school holidays get away

Found It.......While wandering around Aireys Inlet we stopped by here and collected the required info and set off in search of the cache. After a short stroll we arrived at G.Z. and soon after had the container in hand. So with the log signed we continued our journey. Thanks Wiser Than Owls for the cache

Some silly math had us 400m too far away haha! but then we went back to the sign and double checked our coordinates and then was as easy find! fun fun. Picked up TB. TFTC! Found with Tankes
Returned here a couple of years after the first time... and dropped a trackable!
A nice easy multi which I did and got to GZ without any problems, thanks. This was welcome after several disappointments.
I have come to this carpark a couple of times now to take a swim at the beach, however usually am too hot / tired after it to do the multi. Today I decided why not and made the quick and easy find!
I'm really not sure what I was thinking last time I was here.
Today I checked the error of my ways.
Then a correct calculation had me right on GZ.
Well it was a good excuse to check the surf at Sunnymeade.

Found on Xmas day on a pleasant late afternoon walk. Happy holidays and TFTC!
Day out with sassieold55 and jackjames1993, we had time for another multi before heading home.TFTC
After some miss understanding of what makes a mammal, we got the right coordinates and found it!! So much fun
It's always a pleasure to cache along the Great Ocean Road but even better when the sky is nice, there are no muggles about and you have the day to yourself. Thankfully for me it was an easy solve for this multi once in position today. I enjoyed the views before moving off. Once at GC a quick find as well. Stamped and replaced as found.

took ms 6 on her first multi. pleased to find it after staggering around in the bushes for a little while. gps slightly off for us! (or our maths)
Found on a lovely sunny day in the Easter holidays. Puzzle was simple however finding the cache was far more difficult as gps got the wobbles when approaching gz. Geohubby estimated it in the end by stepping it out. Took TB. TFTC

Today I was out for a caching trip down the coast with Neville_devil and Ausfox;.
After finding a couple of caches just up the road we pulled into this small car park and set to work finding the information we needed. We were then off on the hunt to find our prize. Looking and looking we were not finding anything that looked remotely close to what we were after.
Ausfox; decided to recheck the cache information and discovered that we had read something slightly wrong that meant we were looking about 200m away from where should be. After we got to the correct GZ the prize was found quickly and our names added to the log.
Thank you Wiser than Owls for the hunt

Out for the day with Simsfamily and Neviile Devil to make our way along the Great ocean road.
This should've been a quick little multi but with a simple mistake we ventured a few hundred meters more than we should. We stopped to rethink the information and I spotted my mistake and we were back on target to make a quick find. Log signed and replaced as found.

After finishing work early, we were sitting around doing nothing due to a power outage and we thought what can we do to pass some time? We know what, lets go and get some caches!
So we headed off down to Anglesea to smash over this series with the mysteries already presolved.
Luckily the night was warm and no sight of rain making it all very enjoyable in such a lovely area.
As it started to get dark , we watched the various colours of the sunset before bringing out the torches to guide us to the Tupperware.
Thanks Wiser than Owls for the variety of caches in this very beautiful part of the coast.

We did not get much caching done during the Mega weekend, but since we live nearby, we returned today. Our focus was on Multis, and this was one we tackled. Calculations were quickly made, and before we went to GZ we had a brief look around the area, admiring the bay views. A quick find followed, and off we went to have a bite to eat before tackling our next 'task'.

Day 6 of my week long visit to Victoria.
Time to head home. I came over with AnyMules but he left for home yesterday. Aussie M&M have kindly offered me a lift and mogni will be coming part way with us. The GOTHS are still together!
We STILL have four of the Surf Coast event caches to collect. We did some on competition day, some yesterday and yet we still have these to do. No way you could get them all during the competition. No chance of a draw then
One final time through the roadworks in Anglesea and up to this start point. Although maths is not my strong point I stand by grasp of English and zoology. The question is:
a) Total number of mammals on the sign = a
Nowhere does it say pictures of mammals
MY POINT [?]
Foxes and cats are mammals but if you count them you end up 500 metres away with the GPS wanting to go over a large cliff and for a swim. I resisted and took a photo instead.
Meanwhile the rest of the gang disregarded them and found the cache. At least they waited so I could sign the log too!
Thanks Wiser than Owls.

My maths was a little concerning here.
My first guess was about 400m away.
The second was a little closer.
I chose the latter and searched and searched but was blind.
Lucky Aireys is home turf for me.
I will return in a few weeks again.

As we arrived here, there was one other vehicle in the car park. After Geohubby left for his search, they came arrived, walked past the sign and followed in the direction that Geohubby had gone. When he got back to the car, he told me that the Geomale was complaining that he should never have listened to Geofemale's calculations! Hmmmmm..... TFTC Wiser than Owls
Data collection was not onerous - it was very straightforward. Accurate coordinates, a geotrail and an obvious hide location led to a quick find. Th cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Wiser Than Owls for the cache.

Last day of our mini holiday adventure so we packed up the camper and hubby and I headed to Airey's with the kids for some last minute sight seeing and caching. Our first stop here and this was a nice simple multi and a quick find by the kids. Many thanks
After almost a year of preparation the Surf Coast Mega 2016 is finally here.
With no issues reported I had a pretty easy maintenance run, out west towards Moggs Creek and then east to Torquay. It was great seeing the positive vibe and cachers happily flying the geocaching flag all along the Great Ocean Road.
Second stop for the day, and I enjoyed this early morning walk in the heathlands.

Cache #13 of Day 2 of the Mega. The multi was easy... yay! What came next was not. I put in the co-ords for "Surf Coast - Walk Track", and my GPS said "400m that way" from this cache. I tried to go 400m "that way", which turned into a 2-3 km walk along beaches, paths, raw bush, and people's backyards. Suffice it to say I didn't find *that* one, as I clearly didn't type in the right co-ords. Thanks heaps, Wiser Than Owls!
Late logging but found with bech had a great weekend at Anglesea thanks for the event.

Fellow WA cachers *bech* and Fernweh* had entered the Victorian Geocaching Tournament and convinced me to go with them to help with the 'puzzles' but in the end I wasn't required for that but helped to find some of the caches that we went to as part of the tournament. (As well as do a girly thing at one of the physical challenges)

Arrived Friday night and staying at the local caravan park with a group of SA cachers who I had meet and cached with at the last Mega at Casey Fields so lots of laughs and some good times with great food and a few wines. What more could you want.
This guy was on the list and soon we were signing the log with Goths+1 with Bushfire being the 1.
I must say that the puzzles are much easier that last year.

An easy multi (and with an attempt on collecting 30 multi caches this month a most welcome one) for Team Four_Thorn. The clues were quickly gathered and GZ coordinates calculated a nice short walk away - perfect! A quick find after a minimal search, no other cachers around this time. TFTC, another punch-out on our tournament score-sheet
We are out and about enjoying the coast and finding a few caches along the way.

Reperio with Noodles22, Tronador, and bella at waggy!
Day 4 of my geocaching tour across Victoria heading towards the Surf Coast event, and today I teamed up with fellow NSW cachers in Noodles22, bella at waggy, and Tronador for the Surf Coast event tournament. With a total of 14 caches found during the 4 hour tournament, we had an absolute blast.

Found on the tournament run as part of the Mega with Tronador, Marcus Vitruvius and Noodles22. We dashed around getting a good haul in the required time which included solving a few puzzles in the car and googling to find some of the photo items. Log signed and on to the next one. TFTC
