TFTC. We were out and about on this beautiful Spring day driving some of the tracks around Jarrahdale and picking up a few caches along the way. Thanks to the CO's for placing the caches for us to find

05-Mar-24
Out and about again, after the CITO in Coolbellup, L1.77 and I headed to Jarrahdale and planning to do as much of the Civilisation Series for the rest of the day. In general it was a disappointing day of caching - many of the ones we looked for have disappeared in fires in the last couple of years. We only had a few spares to replace where we saw remnants of caches. Thanks to janssej for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. After hosting an event in Coolbellup in the morning, we hit the road to complete some of the Civilisation series. Thank you janssej for placing this cache for my enjoyment.

Found it. TFTC janssej & muskcat83. Came back to this area to do a few more of the Civilisation series. Those with multiple DNF's were not visited. Most were reasonable good hides, some proved move difficult than others. There were a few that were in a fire and burnt or scorched. In general a good series, but just needs a little maintenance. thanks for putting them down. Happy to make the find here, all ok here and replaced as found.

10-Sep-22
This one has definitely not been found for awhile, completely covered in spiderwebs so happy that we found this bad-boy after nearly a year! (according to the written logs!)

Found a travel bug in this one that we will happily send on more travels!

Headed out today to clean up some more of these numerous amazing Civs series. Hubby played the PC version of Civs for years and can picture exactly what each cache would be.... and wasn't disappointed!

Love the effort that has gone into each and every one of these..... always a fan of a themed series!

11th find of 39 with only 2 DNFs of the Tech series, looking forward to coming back for more!

Thank you muskcat83 and janssej for placing Civilisation - Tech Series - Gun Powder for us and others to enjoy!

Wink

Today I was in the forest to get a trailer full of fire wood (with Permit Big Grin) Driving out of the forest I took the opportunity to finally clear some of these caches.

It had been a while for a most of the finds, but the caches were generally in good condition. Lots of activity around some of the caches locations, but they remained in place

We arrived at this one just as it was getting dark, so once at gz we searched for about five minutes and then Leega spotted something and sure enough there it was. We added our mark to your log book and returned your cache back to where we found it. TFTC janssej and muskcat83.

Out here with axell33 getting a few caches while we distance ourselves from everyone. This one needed a bit more looking as the area was a little more ‘disturbed’ since the last photo and find in May last year. Happy to say, although it was well hidden, thanks to wild pigs would be guess, though with the fading light it would have been very easy to miss! TYFTC. That’s it for now, but we will be back to continue on...

05-Apr-21
Will try again

08-May-20
Like most of these, it was a park, walk and grab. The cache size was impressive. TFTC

Today was my CIVILISATION series cache day. I had so much fun doing these but still have a lot more to do. I worked my way up the old Jarrahdale railway (fun after the last few days rain) before heading out to Balmoral Rd. Due to burn offs and fires a few have perished, some salvageable and others are pristine. I had 30 finds and nine frowns.

18-Apr-20
Out and about picking up a few hides here and there in Civilization land. A bit of a trek from the road but pleased to find another nice sized container.

janssej I found your cache at 11:16am, this was the 5th of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5989. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Took a drive to Jarrahdale, checked the phone to see if there were any caches and found this one. Not sure why I didn’t pick it up before as I had previously found all the other ones around it. Quick find.

02-Nov-17
A nice day out for caching warm but not too warm.

Headed out to civilisation land to grab a few caches we've missed on previous visits. Got three caches in but was a bit worried about snakes with the 80-100m walks into the bush so gave it in after three caches.

Headed down to wellard to meet up with OOH YEH To team up and grab the new critter series in Hillman. Was a rough walk through the area, lots of prickles and alike filling shoes and socks and finding a bunch of micro caches.

Terrain was a bit snakey but all ok and managed to make a find of the final quickly in a bit of an unexpected area. Thanks for the series.

02-Nov-17
Loved the container.
Out and about in our new 4WD picking up some of the TECH SERIES.

Day Thirteen of our holiday in Western Oz.
Bettyboo3747 and I went out to Jarrahdale to tackle the Civilization - Tech Series. We have never played the game, but now we can say we have done the geocaching version.
Lots of short walks and cleverly thought out caches.

We looked a bit like gunpowder had gone off after this cache - lots of burnt wood around.
A great sized cache though.
Thanks, Robmc.

#12745. Day 13 of our WA holiday and our 8th day based in Rockingham. Robmc and I decided to head East to Jarrahdale and do some of the Civilisation - Tech Series. We signed the first log at 9.25am and finished at 3.35pm - that is 6 hours with a lot of hard fought for smilies and a few DNF's. Our GPS'rs didn't want to cooperate today so quite often we were led on a merry dance.

So good to find a regular sized container. A pity this one didn't have a nice big log book inside to match the container.

Thanks janssej

Could not leave this series for too long, we shot back amongst the thick of it today to finish up the last of it. Only one DNF for the whole series was pretty good going for us country bumpkins!

Gabs1963 and Miss-Placed came down to meet up with me for one last caching adventure before I venture further afield. 09-Apr-17
A beautiful autumn day and a few free hours to get out and do some geocaching which has been neglected over the past few months. Set off up Jarrahdale way to have lunch at the cafe and then decided to finish off the great Civilisation - Tech series that we started some many months ago. Had a successful afternoon with that series now finished - now to find time for other 2 series.

We wondered how we missed this last time then worked out that it was placed after we were out here.

Thanks for the cache janssej [^] - we made the find and the cache was in good order and the log dry Cool.

This was find # 1 of 12 Smile and 0 Sad today giving us a total cache count of 3330.

With both of us on leave from work, AlliedOz and I arranged to spend a day researching the history of civilisation. We dropped the Geokids at school and headed out to Jarrahdale.

My plan was to grab the Tribes and then the People and maybe a few others here and there.

This was a green icon in a line of smileys. Parked and walked and made the nice find.

janssej - SVKR_WA found your cache CIVILISATION – TECH SERIES – GUN POWDER on 4/4/17, 11:54. This is my find #1891 and find #20 today.

The cache is in good shape and we replaced it as found. Thanks for placing this and bringing us to this spot!

04-Apr-17
After doing some of this amazing series last year, today SVKR_WA and I headed out to see if we could make a dent in the rest.

In to grab this one that was not here last trip.

Thanks janssej & muskcat83 for your part in this awesome well thought out series.

A perfect day out in the hills to get back into geocaching a bit again with the Civilisation series.
Although I have never played the game we did enjoy the great variety of hides and admired the effort that had gone into this whole series.
We will definitely be back for some more smileys soon!

25-Mar-17
In the area for the event today and decided to tackle more of this series. Wonder who else we will see out here?

25-Mar-17
With the staging of todays event, gave me the motivation and excuse to head down and make a start on this grand civilisation, with the main goal to tackle the tech series of hides

i spent the day tracking down a fantastic series of hides of great variety, all worthy of their now legendary status

Please to say to finish the day with 44 finds and one dnf

Great to meet the creators at the event and happy to award a favourite point for every find had today.

But this means I will have to do a hell of a lot more caching to restock the favourite points before returning and tackling the rest of the civilisation.

Tfts muskcat83 and janssej

Headed north again today, this time with the Pranksters Devils on our radar. The plan was to meet up with Eliktrisiti when she finished at the gym after spending all night at work (oh to be that young again!!). Mr Jackylegs and I were on the road pretty early and decided to grab a few caches on the way to our pre-arranged meeting place with Eli. This was one of the ones we chose to grab while it was still early, allowing me to complete all of the Civilisation Series that have been published thus far. Thanks for another smiley janssej

Met at 8.30 in Jarrahdale with iluvtrekking, Sevebo and Everlasting to tackle the latest release of Civilization caches. Beautiful day to be out doing this series although Everlasting found that she was a 'tick magnet', after finding several on her throughout the day. Signed all logs as team R.I.S.E. All containers found without a problem and we enjoyed the range of camo applied to each. Thanks janssej

12-Oct-16
Hi there janssej.

We found your cache **"CTS-GUN POWDER"** at 11:04:00 AM today. This cache makes our find count 14793.

We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route that is mostly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. The plan today was to finish off the "Civilisation Technology" series, and then make a start on the "Civilisation People" series.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trek today & ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way.

We found 19 caches today & DNF'd 0. Without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge if the container was large enough.
**Dropped Trackable:** "Just Married".

Thanks for the hunt today,

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Quick find here heading home from Perth. Thanks again for the series Smile

21-Sep-16
I have been known to sometimes be a little OCD about unfound caches amongst lots of smileys. So when I noticed this one during our preparations for another raid on Civilisation Land, it just had to be addressed. A quick find here, and on to finding some Great People. Thanks for this cache!

21-Sep-16
Up this way today for the peoples series and this one was not there last time, so a quick stop before we met the peoples of Civilisation.

Loudy16 has been living away in Broome for a few months, so when he mentioned he was heading home for a few weeks, we made sure a caching day was on the cards.

I saw the emails come through for the new Civilisation series last night, and it fitted the bill perfectly for todays destination.

Cleaning up the last of the original series that was published after we came through.

TFTC janssej.

FTF at 8.08am
Saw this one published last night but the rain did not stop. Woke up this morning to a much better outlook and the FTF still up for grabs, so had the morning coffee to assist in my functioning levels and headed up the hill back into tech series land. Wow theres been quite a bit of rain over night and puddles on the road everywhere but the 80m walk to the cache was nice and dry. Geo dog Zotti was a bit hesitant she's not used to morning caching runs, Bobble however was raring to go. The cache was found quickly without issues and I opened it up to see a blank log book -Yippee my first FTF for the month -I was starting to get worried i would loose my streak.
Signed log and took the TB Sticker as a prize which will sit nicely on the Geoute that brought me up to this cache. TFTC janssej was nice to be back up in TECH land again the series is now complete for me once again.
