Awesome spot for a cache
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
DavidNarelle, I found Catch A Barra 2 today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Another beautiful location, although no fishing for us today.
A bit of a search and we soon had this sneaky one found and the log signed. The hide is not behind the boxes, and we only mention this since there is a small bird nest, very messy, behind one of the boxes, and there was a bird inside that was a little spooked by us.
Thanks Davidnarelle

Thanks to Wazza9 and Nanna Nel for replacing this cache - it was in a sneaky spot and finished off the day nicely for us!

This was quite a beautiful dam and with such a story behind it. The cache was found with no problems, signed and returned. We both guess that the dam is rather full at the moment as there is green grass just peeping out from under the water. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
TFTC,
This is day 12 of our planned detour trip to the Townsville MEGA over Easter. There is no way we were ready for the over 40 Deg. temperature between 2 and 6 this afternoon. This alone wad probably responsible for some of the DNF's and not attempted caches. We are still happy with our 9 finds and AL stages that took us to so many new experiences.
A good reason to return one day.
We searched and suspect it is missing. No one has made any comments to enlighten us. Made an assumption and replaced it.

Hi there DavidNarelle.
We found your cache **"Catch A Barra 2"** today.
We're full time grey nomads, currently avoiding COVID hot spots on our way to QOGM in Cunnamulla. Today we cached around Cloncurry and found 9 caches in a variety of container types and sizes (& DNF'd 0).
Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places to visit on our nomadic wander around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache near where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log are in good shape.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia and back. Traveling up solo along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, then through central Queensland to Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns. In Cairns I met up with e.gregory1 and a non-cacher friend and spent three weeks on Cape York Peninsula before making our way back to Cairns and Mareeba. From there I headed on my own back home via Normanton and Karumba, Cloncurry, Mount Isa, Tennant Creek and back down the Stuart Highway through Alice Springs to Adelaide. All in all I spent six weeks on the road, visited many out of the way locations, enjoying the scenery and finding caches along the way. Thanks for the cache DavidNarelle!
Continuing my trip up north and being very thankful that I’m not in lockdown like our Southern States.
Spending a couple of nights at Cloncurry and this morning was spent touring around the dam area.
Just think I was in this exact spot yesterday and I didn’t bother to check my map so here I am again this morning, nice and calm out there and you could see the splashes of a few fish.
I have eaten a few Barra on this trip but haven’t caught one yet.
Thanks Davidnarelle TFTC.

Day 3 of our tour around Queensland. Today saw us heading from Longreach to Cloncurry picking up this, that and anything else that we came across.
Arriving at GZ we were amazed to see how calm and still the dam was. With a few snaps taken we started our search and it wasn’t too long before we had what we came for. Great hide and TFTC Davidnarelle

Day 3 of 8 (Longreach to Cloncurry) of a Queenslander road trip with Kestal, clocking just over 4000km, to tick off boxes for different challenges. After checking in to our motel we headed out to grab a few caches around Cloncurry. The dam was picture perfect this afternoon. Thanks for bringing us here, Davidnarelle
A very short walk soon had the cache in hand, thanks for bringing me here and

Beautiful location! Fun cache!
I would reccomend looking at the satellite map before parking, we parked at the wrong side which added more time.

After camping at Porcupine Gorge last night, I continued my journey west towards Mount Isa, checking out the various towns and caches along the way.
Its been almost 3 weeks since I left Adelaide on a trip north in search of some warmer weather and I’ve really been enjoying the changing landscapes and visiting new places.
A quick find and found a spot to sign (although its getting rather tight). Nice outlook over the water from here.
Thanks DavidNarelle for the cache.

Found it after a short time avoiding weekend muggles. Log I’d definitely over full, but found termite spot to sign sideways. Thanks
Thanks Davidnarelle for placing this cache. Found on our 1/2 lap in the caravan. Signed sideways where there was room. Log full cache in good condition. Found its twin at Lake Moondarra.
Day 342 - On the road again this time we made our way from Winton to Cloncurry and after placing the van on the site and having to find a doctor we managed to look for a cache in the area and after making our way out to the wonderful dam area we eventually found this on at what was an interesting place although we found the cache some 8M from the coordinates that our GPS had us going to but before I looked where the gps indicated I looked for a cache where I would most likely place on in the area and it was there.
Thanks Davidnarelle for bring us here and showing us the area.

Road trip day 10, spent the last 2 days in and near Kuridala, creating two caches, searching for amethysts and once more meeting super friendly Aussis.
Started with this one, cause it's the last missing clue for the second souvenir this time. Found it right away, log dry but full. The complete series might need a little maintenance.

This is he second narrative cache I have caught. This one was a quick catch because I knew what to expect. This is a lovely dam.
Walked around to the dam wall and soon spotted this tricky little hide. Beautiful place to visit and I'm sure its good for a fish too, although we did not have time to try. TFTC
A nice easy find at a lovely area. No muggles to worry us today thanks for placing the cache
As we arrived in town today, we set ourselves the challenge of finding most of the caches around Cloncurry, despite the heat. We also wanted to find them as quickly as possible. This was the quickest find of the lot, as there really were limted places a cache could hide. Log was signed, job done! We enjoyed the water views from here before moving on. Thanks to Davidnarelle for showing us this viewing point and for the cache.
After leaving Julia Creek this morning we headed to Cloncurry and after setting up the van we drove out to find a few of the local caches.
We felt a but brazen searching for this one where the sign says we are on candid came
Found and signed though
Thanks for the hide DavidNarelle

I had to get out of the house and do some caches, so instead of finding local ones, i went to the curry for the afternoon and found 8 for 8! TFTC TNLN
A lazy start to the day as we continue our meandering across northern Australia after attending the Red Centre Experience over Easter. A cooked breakfast, a delightful plunger coffee , put on a load of washing then loaded up the car to finish off the traditional caches in Cloncurry.
This was find #5.
Didn't make the find straight away as there were muggles fishing, unsuccessfully I'm afraid, but wandered around for a while then made a quick grab. I hope the cache I missed north of Mt Isa wasn't the same as this one! Couldn't find that for love of money!
However this one was found, duly signed and returned safely to its hidey hole.
Thanks for another good one DavidNarelle.

We were planning on catching up with friends who are heading back to Melbourne that we haven't seen for a few years we hung around Cloncurry for the morning waiting for time to arrive and what better way to kill time than to go caching.
This is quite a nice looking dam here that looks like the water levels could be down a bit at the moment. Not being that keen of a fishermen we had no rods with us so had no hope of catching a barra but we did mange to reel in a cache which happily the log book now contains our name and then we cast an eye over the area and took a few pictures before leaving.

We left Mt Isa by lunchtime and arrived in Cloncurry.
Caravan dropped off and out we went to explore town using Geocaching as a guide. Lovely area here at Chinaman Creek Dam. Shame camping is not allowed but noticed some ignoring the rules.
Found this one but before leaving noticed a suspicious White Patrol near GZ. 2nd time today. Stopped off to say Gday to dingbat12. Nice to meet you.

#7231 - 13:25; Day 26 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. After attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs and then heading north to Darwin, we are now headed for home. We reached Queensland yesterday and after overnighting in Mt Isa and collecting a few more around the city this morning, we were now on the road and heading for our next overnight stop in Winton via Mary Kathleen, Cloncurry and McKinlay caching all the way. Most of the caches we located were in good order, including this one which we collected on the way out from Chinamans Dam after lunch. No fishermuggles to spoil the party today TFTC DavidNarelle
13692. Next find of Day 16 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. Heading South East into QLD.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.

Heading back down the track and towards home with fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n and albida and we were heading from Mt Isa towards Barcaldine. Grabbed a good number of caches along the way, with the oddDNF thrown in. A couple of days of fun caching. Most logs were signed ALFS to save space on the logs.....
Thanks to all the caches owners for the caches and the fun in grabbing them.

I really lucked this one in. All of the time we had been having morning tea I could see people fishing where we thought the next cache would be. We decided to give it a shot anyway and as we arrived we found the fishermen down by the water congratulating one anothe over a very large cat-fish catch. Their attention diverted I was able to make a very quick find, sign the log and replace everything before they came back up onto the wall.
Thanks DavidNarelle

What a beautiful spot. I can't believe I have never seen this before on our many trips through. Homeward bound from Mega in Alice Springs - TFTC
We are on an express road trip from Brisbane to Alice Springs but taking the opportunity to find a few caches along the way [^] There will be a little more time on our return trip so we will be taking some time out to better explore some of the areas we have had to fly past
We managed to get our little i30 along the track to get to ground zero and located this cache easily enough. With our name added to the log book, we continued on our long drive.
Thank you DavidNarelle for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy
