looked for a good 20 minutes climb up to the road in thongs while wet but didn’t find it maybe it gone
Had a long look but started to rain so we gave up. Considering how easily others have found it, we think it may have been moved
#4787:
Some people would honestly call me crazy! Today I spent a total of 8 hours on multiple trains, just to find this cache!!
I've been in Australia now for 9 months, and I'm attempting to find a cache in as many LGAs as I can. It took me a while to realise I can use my Opal card on the Hunter Train Line, but the problem I faced was the irregularity of the services. I made a day trip to Newcastle and back from Sydney many months ago, and that exhausted me. I figured that the only way I'd be able to visit Dungog, Scone, Muswellbrook etc, was by having a weekend up in Newcastle.
Well, that never came to fruition, and I ended up visiting all the surrounding Shires on a roadtrip from Brisbane to Sydney. Now that I'm leaving Australia in 5 days, it was now or never to visit Dungog. I selected Sunday to travel, as it is so cheap (in fact, the return trip from Sydney to Dungog - 490km - cost me a measly $1.16 return!)
I ended up having 1 hour before the train departed, so that gave me enough time to have a leisurely stroll to find this cache. Ohhhh how I love rural Australia. It's so quiet and charming, surrounded by farms and cows, and delightful wooden bridges. It was quite a tough scramble up the hill to reach the cache (terrain rating should be higher!), but once there I quickly found the cache.
Well what a long day it's been. I got up at 8am, and got back to my accomodation in Sydney at around 9pm. I'd say this is easily the most effort I've ever put in to find a cache! TFTC.

Hint is definitely a huge give away. Thanks for bringing us here to this quiet little park, cache was found quickly signed the log and returned it where found. TFTC
Cache found all in good order. Thanks for the find. This cache now has the new record for my northern most cache. And I'd imagine it woyld remain that way for some time to come.
Followed the hint and geo hubby scrambled up the grassy slope to find the cache. TFTC
Back in the tea with friends. Still as beautiful as ever. But much cooler than last time. TFTC

The beautiful puppy geo art up Maitland way has been tempting me for months!, so when Joolay, Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and SpecimenX started to brew plans for a trip, I knew I was in. Making a whole long weekend of it, we’ve hunted down much needed counties on Friday, diverted to Jasmers, caught up with locals at events and picked up some extra cool little trails and night caches, all the while keeping our eye on the geo art prize So wonderful to have the chance to get away for some caching fun, and to catch up with some local cachers whilst we’re about. Thanks so much to everyone who has invested in these caches to make our wonderful weekend away a possibility. Thanks for the Cache.

Found with fitzy_1965, minniek, Nibletricecakes, Joolay as part of the Canberra Invasion of Maitland and surrounds over an extra long weekend
Off we go on another adventure around the area and today's priority was to grab the golden oldie Frying Pan (GCF1) and then anything else which we had on our list Took the opportunity for a facility stop here as well as wandering up for the quick find of course! Signed or stamped as Capital Crunchers or CC to save log space.
Thanks for the hide, ASLJ

19,114. Found as part of the Capital Crunchers Team (fitzy_1965, minniek, specimenX, nibletricecakes and Joolay) during the Canberra Invasion of Maitland region over the long weekend.
Day 3 of our invasion. And after a HUGE day yesterday we had our sights set on heading up and getting Frying Pan for our JASMER, plus other caches as they appeared on our route. This was the next one along the way. After a careful search at GZ I spotted the cache.
Thanks ASLJ !!

Today was the day we were heading up to Frying Pan to finally get that early month ticked off for my Ausmer. A beautiful day to be out and about and this is on the way. Last one for the town before heading to find Frying Pan
Up in Maitland with Nibletricecakes, Fitzy1965, MinnieK and Specimen X, to do the Dogs Head going by the name of Capital Crunchers. We had solved quite a few of the puzzles before coming up and after doing the Dogs Head started on some of the others around the area.
Our logs are signed CC, Capital Crunchers or stamped depending who wrote them.
Thanks ASLJ, Tommy@@@

Found this one with team NZ MEGA 2020 as we were passing through the area, over here in Australia for the GeoMuster mega event in Wollongong. Nice quick find here in Dungog on our way back to our Central Coast accommodation after a visit to the Frying Pan. Getting dark so not many more to find today. TFTC!!!

A group of five of us from Auckland, New Zealand have embarked ourselves upon Australian territory to wile away the time here at the 2019 MEGA .and to gather up some old caches and see the country while we’re at it.
It's dark, we've done heaps of driving and our driver FMZ is getting tired, so a pull up at the nearest cache will give him a chance to stretch his legs. They all get out of the car and make the find quickly.
All logs while in Australia were signed as NZ MEGA 2020 to save space. We are FMZ, Agazo, rustynz, harisree and myself.

Found it, but I'm not sure if it's been moved because I didn't have to climb the grassy slope.. Thanks!
With a long weekend in Canberra, FurfacesLL #1 and myself decided it was time to get away and find a bit of warmth as the cold makes its way into Canberra. We decided to head up to Maitland as neither of us had been there before for Geocaching. After finishing the Dog Head Series yesterday and a few others, we decided on a quieter day today, so we made our way out to Frying Pan.
Continuing on our country drive we picked up random caches along the way.
Thanks for the cache hide ASLJ, Tommy@@@ and thanks FFLL#1 for another trip out and about for some quantity AND quality caching

Headed to Maitland to do the Dogs Head Trail, today was day two so we decided to head to the frying pan as we were so close.
Saw this one on the map when on our journey back to Maitland.
Quick find at GZ after running up the grassy slope. Was tempted to roll back down it but thought better of it.

There were some muggles eating their lunch in the shelter below Ground Zero but fortunately the height of the cache ensured that the roof of the shelter obscured their view of us and so we could search for and quickly find the cache without being seen. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Parking nearby, we walked over to the bridge and made a quick find. TFTC!
On our way back to camp after spending the weekend at Riverwood Downs. We stopped for this one in the lovely country town of Dungog that we enjoyed visiting. Thanks ASLJ, Tommy@@@ for placing this cache for us and others to find.
Cheers and happy caching!

We were told this was once an excellent free camp. Don't know if it still is but the signs didn't look encouraging. Anyway today we were only here for the cache and in a convoy of four cars we arrived. Found with a group of attendees at the Hawaiian Shirts Galore event - Yella Belly, GrubFred, DiMorgan, pprass, Coongoola, Liz & Bruce and Snakepiters. TFTC ASLJ.
While attending The Hawaiian Shirt Event we took a day trip with Liz and Bruce, Snakepiters, Grub Fred, coongoola, pprass & geono, we stopped at various caches on our way to find the Frying pan our main objective for the day.
Our last on eon our way back to the event, didn't take long for the many cachers to spot it. A few people enjoying a rest here.
Thanks for placing this cache ASLJ

What a great area to go caching in. We are not familiar with this area and find ourselves here because of the event being held by Grub Fred in an area not too far away from here. Thankyou ASLJ for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area
Out for the day finding geocaches with Dimorgan, Liz and Bruce, Grub Fred, Snakepiters, and Pprass. We found all the caches we had planned and replaced one or two that had gone missing is action.
We're camped at Riverwood Downs for the Hawaiian shirt event hosted by the infamous Grub Fred team where many forms of shirts were encountered.
A fabulous few days with wonderful friends.

Heading up for the Hawaiian shirts event by grub Fred at Riverwood downs, a few stops were made on the way for a few caches. A climb up the hill and the cache was soon spotted. Thanks for the cache ASLJ, Tommy@@@
Found with BillHill531 and my boys. Tenth find of our geocaching camping trip. Made the detour out to this one. Still sprinkling, but no raincoats this time. Pretty wet, so slippery on the hill. All good.
Thanks for the cache!
Thanks for the cache!
Sent the geo-hubby up to find this cache He did but it certainly is not kid friendly (think traffic on the nearby bridge) and then how to get down from this very exposed spot. However, it would certainly be an interesting challenge for some geo-cachers.. SL, TFTC
Back in Aus for another round of caching down under. Great way to explore the country.
It seems this one has been replaced.
Thanks ASLJ

After a pleasant drive to Frying Pan Picnic Ground today, we stopped by here on the way back to Newcastle for a quick find. I took the eldest up the slope to GZ where the cache was found nicely tucked away out of sight. A nice place to take a break.

The dilemma - are the knees up to climbing or is the body small enough for squeezing past the barrier? Found the answer to both questions to be “yes”. Log signed and returned without incident. Left a shell , took a swamp gecko tag. Tftc
OMG what has happened to the roads in this town?? Seriously, they would be the worst around that I have ever encountered! Anyway, another smiley here and I took care coming down the slope as the ground was wet.
I was caching by torchlight tonight as I was making my way to and past Newcastle. A nice quick find here!
I was fortunate enough to be in this part of the country on a work trip and decided to head over a couple of days early so that I could target some caches before attending my conference.
My main focus was the three Jasmer dates that aren’t available in WA and I had solved a heap of puzzles as well. I was limited for time so had a fast and furious couple of days signing logs as fast as I could in an effort to rack up the numbers. This was one of the targeted caches for the trip and I soon had this one found, signed and replaced. Cheers and TFTC.
G’day there ASLJ, I was in this area today and found your cache Williams River Geocache GC6N68J. I added my name to the log book at 10:18 pm on 21 July 2018. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!
This cache find brings our total find count to 9794. Woohoo!!

Our main reason for being in the area was to find Frying Pan, with that out of the way we relaxed and enjoyed a stop here on the way back.
We drive past here this morning on our way but stopped on the return to find this cache. U love the bridge here. Found with Tassie Trekkers and stainless steel rat. Thanks ASLJ

Today was the day to tackle the Frying Pan cache to fill in our calendar. With gooseandegg and SSR we headed off to the Frying Pan. We travelled through the country side and up into the forest enjoying panoramic views of the area.
While in the area we found a variety of hides and this was one of them.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

On a road trip down from Qld to participate in the Oz GeoMuster Event and pulled over to look for this one whilst in a convoy with team RoddyC. Just as we were about to commence our search we stopped and waited for the train to pass over before finding the prize. Neat hide and TFTC ASLJ, Tommy@@@

We came across your cache, ASLJ, Tommy@@@, during our journey to the Easter Mega.
Stopped as a train was coming through. Bonus!
As I was standing under the bridge directing Mrs RoddyC and Snickersallan to the cache above, a truck rumbled over the bridge and the ground I was standing on shook! Wow.
Log signed and replaced at 10:57 am on 27 March 2018. TFTC.
