Took a ride out to Magnet Bay. A beautiful day to be out here. The cache was a quick find. No problems with the container, I think the previous finder was mixing it up with another cache out this way. TFTC.
Op vakantie in Nieuw-Zeeland, sightseeing en geocaching. Mijn eerste cache ooit; dankjewel.
Have introduced my cousin from Holland to geocaching. Today was a scenic drive to find a view. Cache found, then enjoyed a walk to the beach to watch the surfers, busy here today. Thanks for the cache TwoSharpe, outer container very fragile and broken but happily signed log.
I had picked up BaldEd for a trip out to Akaroa and the Southern coast of Banks Peninsula.
Another Iron Maiden cache signed off.
Cheers for the cache.

Out on a tour of some Port Hills backroads with Tufty. This cache and 2 others were placed some months after I last cleared the Bossu Road area of my unfound caches. But Tufty was out clear all that were driveable between French Bay and Little River so he chaffeured me here. This was the 2nd of my three unfounds out this way. After finding the cache we made our way down to the beach and watched a dozen surfers trying to make the best of some rather lumpy surf. More car loads of surfers were arriving as we left the beach. Thanks for the cache TwoSharpe.

We managed to incorporate caching, having lunch as well as spend some quality time together along with our work schedule today. Exploring Magnet bay was definitely in our to do list also finding this cache. What a beautiful place in this perfect weather. We also saw some happy seals.
Cache was easily found and all is well here. TFTC.

Gee some spectacular views driving in to this by. I don’t think I have ever been on this road before. Thank you for bringing me here.
Found the cache then collected some pinecones for a fire later and had lunch nearby. The road down is cool!
Found on a nice drive in the area. You do need to concentrate on the road as very narrow in places.
Found with Envy-Us on a caching trip around the southern sector of Banks Peninsular. TFTC
Had a stunning day driving around some of the peninsular. Great weather and some amazing views, and roads! Most finds were straight forward, but sadly noted many lonely caches. TFTC
At the bay looking for waves, but without luck turned my attention to a nearby Cache!
The search took a while, but after some determination and an awkward chat with fishery police wondering what I was up to,
The cache was successfully located!
Great spot and the bay itself is beautiful and quiet. Long time surf spot of mine, must have driven past this cache 50 times!

Its 6am on our last day and its already 20 degrees - Its going to be a hot one. So lets get exploring Toby on some more gravel roads. These tree roots make it very interesting area to traverse. A small walk here to snag and tag this one. Cheers
Its Sunday - day five - Little River - Blenheim - Picton. Lets go exploring.
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

6am start on our last day. And it's 20 degrees already. Going to be a scorcher. Back on the dirt roads to check out the bays. My notebook says I gave this a favourite. I can't remember why specifically, alas my notebook doesn't say, and the visit was a week ago from me writing this online log. as a minimum the cache has to be a decent size and dry inside, and I am guessing the hide wasn't outstanding, so it must have been the location. Anyway, I just realised that I have given favourites to the majority of these Iron Maiden caches. Going to have to keep an eye out on any others.
Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). A couple of days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a day in Lyttelton and couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry.

A quick and easy find down a road I have never been down before. No deja vu here. Thanks
A nice Saturday drive with Ms KR on some of the back roads to Akaroa.
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Thought we'd have the place to ourselves but there were several cars. Luckily nobody around. TFTC
Had the day to myself and I had grand plans to try for a FTF by Mt Somers but those were thwarted. I planned to bike here... thwarted. I planned to walk up... thwarted. The weather was pies so I had the scheme to knock off a few Peninsula caches. Ended up clocking up 150 odd kms and 10 caches and a DNF. Great time out. I even found a spot of sun between rain showers. Had a lovely lunch in Little River and got home just before the cachelets came home from school.
Driving past Lake Forsythe and the cache was 4km away as the crow flys. 25km later arrived at GZ and make a quick find. Glad for 4WD as I parked on the grass and it was slippery. Would have been in the poos if I only had 2WD.
Thanks for the cache TwoSharpe.

The weather forecast for Sunday was good so StreetWalker and I planned a day exploring the scenic southern route from Little River to Wainui.
With a couple of caches to find down here, it was worth a detour down the bay. I searched one side of the divide, and SW the other and I made a quick find. TFTC.

#15591. Caches in this series are in some interesting places! We had no trouble finding the turn off (even though it was easy to miss). Later in the day, back up on Bossu Rd at the corner of Gap Rd, a guy stopped to ask for directions. He was trying to get to Magnet Bay, and was well off course (hopefully he was able to follow our directions to get toe Magnet Bay). At times the road seemed more like a farm track. Good parking at GZ and a quick find. TFTC.
I dropped our daughter off at work in Wainui this morning and took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the hills above. Actually that was 22 caches, 5 cache types, in 5 hours. At the end of it the only dry item of clothing I was wearing was my woolly hat (inside the hood of my jacket). I stopped at Little River for a pie and a hot chocolate, after getting dry and changing my clothes!
Found it in the second spot I looked, nicely nestled out of sight of muggle eyes. Signed the log with my back to the wind and hid it away in its hidey-hole again.

The word will in the hint allowed for a couple of interpretations at this location, but we soon found the cache. TFTC
Ladies expedition to the Southern Bays with Jude_E & busy paws. A fun day out caching, finding a few solved puzzles and a number of other caches along the way.
Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache, TwoSharpe.

Good hide, JudeE found this while on a day out with KotukuSI also. Interesting tree roots at the car parking area! TFTH
We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!
So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!
Speedy & easy
TFTC!!

Another Iron Maiden cache ticked off It's been a while since I had been in this neck of the woods. TFTC.
Not quite sure how many caches there are (or will be) in the series - it seems as if always new turn up. A quick find, TFTC
The forecast for skiing was not good but it was a lovely day outside so JDScout and I decided to go out geocaching. The Southern Peninsula was our target and a picnic was on the cards. So off we set . The views were spectacular so I created a You Tube clip for The OamaruGeofest You Tube channel. I was careful not to give away too much. Anyone who drives on these roads will enjoy the scenery but will need their wits about them. Neither of us had been down this road before.
Sunday road trip around the area and a few on the trail.
No dejavu for me not been down here before but I get the idea nice quick find tftc
