A perfect day for a lovely walk, with so many wildflowers out. A quick find after enjoying the viewThanks

Growing up in the Shire but moving away just after high school has always meant there are so many places in the nearby vicinity that we are still yet to explore.Every time we visit family in the area, time permitting, we try to manage at least one short walk and to explore another area. This afternoon we chose this walk, and after a night of rain, the trail was pretty much a creek the whole way, but everything looked wet and beautiful around us. As we approached GZ, we could see an enormous area of water, and in the late afternoon sun it was quite beautiful with muted colours around it (see photos). We spent some time exploring the old infrastructure here and climbing around bits and pieces and then it was down to the job of finding this hide, which proved to be quite elusive to us. After about 25 minutes of searching, we sent a message to the CO who was lightning quick and kind in their response. That little bit of extra information helped us narrow down where we needed to be searching and we soon found this lovely large Hide! A very good hiding spot, as we can imagine this area is visited by people quite often, as it is of interest and very historic. We definitely add a favourite point and say a big thank you to Team MavEtJu, for the exercise and walk, for the Adventure and for the lovely Hide. Domsky

Entrance is blocked off and it's inaccessible for the moment. This may need some maintenance in regards to location.

OCW Calypso62 and Jackscuff.
After attending the nearby event, as we made our way back to the train station, we stopped to collect this one.
Wow want a location.
TFTC.

06-Jun-21
After the Community Celebration Event at Kingfisher Pools we were heading back to Waterfall Station, well the geomobile at the start of the track for me, when Calypso62 suggested we head on down to this cache, only 500m away so off we went.
The track down to the junction was definitely T3.5 but this section was wide and fairly level so the metres soon disappeared.
And there it was - what an interesting spot!
Must have taken quite some work to get that equipment down to this location. Also a huge effort to pump the water back up to the station - still I guess that's how things were a century ago.
Once down near the old engine we had a quick discussion about where to look, so I looked there and there it was!
Interesting container, recycled from a previous event!

After attending the Celebration Event at Kingfisher Pools, a small group of us tackled this one. Cache was soon found and log signed. I even found my name on the cache container. Thanks for the fun MavEtJu.

Almost embarrassingly I seemed a way off GZ- over near the boiler, near the lake, all over the place. Phoned a previous finder and they said it is in the XXX. Aha, I didn't even see a XXX but can now- and it is an ammo tin to boot! Thanks for the nice walk- dropping off at the scout camp this morning meant it was but a 400m return flat jaunt from the car! TFTC!

A very nice walk taking us seniors 30 minutes to reach GZ. A very scenic location. For some odd reason Dan spent a bit of time climbing around and searching in the wrong location. Once he retrieved the etrex, he then went to the correct area and soon had CIH. A FP. We did a TB swap.

Spectacular area! Part of my 7km bushwalk from Waterfall into the Heathcote National Park, and back again!

Glad to have some rain again in NSW, although flash flooding had swollen the creeks, and created waterfalls and streams along the various footpaths. A very adventurous and varied day out. Last part of the trip was to visit the lake. Great Edwardian engineering on the shores! I had a good exploration, before searching for the cache. I searched in the obvious spot for a while, before realise that this was not where the coordinates pointed. So I changed my search area, and soon happened upon the cache! Good coords. TFTC, and have a favourite.

I also left a TB inside the cache.

From GC7WBVH - Room with a view - we walked through the scout park to this one. Met a fisherman (who was empty handed if you don't count the beer in his hand). The cache proved tricky but geodad expanded his search and the cache was found in a very appropriate spot. We definitely spent a while here and so it was time to head back to the car! Thanks for bringing us here. I forgot to take a photo I was so engrossed in finding the cache!

Woops I logged the wrong one. I came back a second time but got stumped again. Probably not looking into the correct holes. Still a nice place to come to.

Wow what a brilliant area. I've never ever been here and just loved it. The history is fascinating and i loved all the old relics and enjoyed my walk onto the dam wall to have a closer look. The cache is nicely hidden in a wonderful location. This would make a nice spot for a picnic. I was able to drive down Camp Rd and left the car at the locked gate. Couldn't help but share some photos.

Took the mini rats and muggle friend for a walk through the Heathcote NP as they gear up for their Duke of Ed walk. Under inclement skies we started from Waterfall station and soon found ourselves wishing the weather was warmer as the dam at GZ looked inviting.

After a short search the cache was in hand but we'd forgotten the No: 1 rule - bring a pen. So we're logging this cache with approval from the CO after providing photo evidence.

Thanks.

Came out here with the Rats as we prepare to do our Duke of Ed walk. With Dad dragging us in the wrong direction of where we were meant to be heading we soon found this cool spot which was full of history. While dad found the cache we considered the option of a quick swim but the weather wasnt in our favour.
Great spot, thanks

Yay finally got it after checking out the pipe that geocaching assistant was pointing out from the path. Tried quite a few other holes before getting the right one. Thanks for the hunt Smile nice container ... This is my favourite type.

I came to get the FTF for the nearby cache Room With A View and decided to stop off and grab this one on the was back.
I’ve been down to Coutts dozens of times and yet ive never actually come out along this road to the lake.
Thanks for giving me a reason to do so.

Did this cache while staying at nearby scout camp. Took in the hint and wasn’t sure what I had to stand on. Once I got a fixing on GZ , it wasn’t long before I had cache in hand. Did the legals and replaced as found. Lovely view of the weir in the setting sun. TFTCM

This cache I found while waiting my friend in Waterfall. It was a nice morning at the dam. Pretty windy day!
Cache is well hidden and in a great condition.

After solving Seemyshell's puzzle box, I headed down the 108 fire trail, then the downhill Bullawarring track and finally hit the Toolooma trail which made for a lovely morning stroll. With the previous day being a rainy one, the sun was just starting to poke out through the clouds to the humidity level was rising. I knew there was going to be a dam here, but when I saw it on approach I was still surprised to see this large structure here. Headed down to GZ and walked on the dam wall before going for the cache. Knowing what size it was there couldn't be too many spots for it but the GPS had me looking in some strange holes. Then I asked myself "could it fit in there?" and there it was, a container that I recognised! Nice double duty it's serving. Signed (and made note of Hoojar's mark in the logbook and popped in the date for him) and replaced then stopped by the lake for morning tea. So pretty with the lily pads. As I was headed towards the other end of Waterfall for a few more caches, I continued on the Toolooma trail and ended up taking Camp Road back to the highway, coming out exactly where I needed to be for the next cache. Thanks Team MavEtJu for bringing me to this lovely spot, well deserving of a favourite point.

I went with a group of friends this afternoon for a swim at Kingfisher Pool. I was able to convince them on the walk back to detour to this cache, despite the increasing rain.

At GZ we made a quick find of the cache, but, alas, there was no pen (this could be the largest cache I've ever found without a pen in it).

I used the included cigarette lighter to burn one page of the log book to mark my find. Also attached is a photo taken at GZ. I hope that this will suffice.

Cheers

In the area, went for a walk, I didn't realise how far it was, until I asked Wazza9, we made it, got to GZ , couldn't find anything so expanded the search. I knew the walking stick I had picked up the way would come in handy, quickly found what we were looking for. Signed log and replaced, exchanged trackables. Thanks to Team MavEtJu. This an area I would never have come unless there was geocache hidden.

TFTC,

A group of us came out to the area this morning to find a new cache which required a special tool that we shared.

After completing that, we decided to go for a walk and share some time. It is a long time since I have been down this area and it was great to hear firstly the Frogs, later possibly something big enough to be a Kangaroo or Dear and then while walking out the Black Cockatoo's.

Now the Cache. What an amazing piece of 1900's European History. Good to share this.
At first I thought the old boiler was where to go but it was some distance from GZ. After looking it over, it was time to get serious. Arriving at what my GPS said was GZ there was nothing that came even close to resembling what the hint indicated. Time to assume that as per usual, my GPS would be out by as much as 10M. While I was doing my systematic search Nana nel went her own way and using that inbuilt device found the hide 11M from my GZ. She then stood back and let me get down on my knees to recover the cache.

Visited a group of trackables, left one and awarded a Favourite.

Found with a bunch of Scouts on a camp at Camp Coutts for the weekend.
Fairly easy to find, even though for my cache pointer the GZ was about 9 meters out.
Was a nice late morning walk after about 12 hours of rain, so a lot of puddle jumping was the order of the hike.

Had started this one before, but had to cut it short because of rain. Today I could luckily drive all the way down to a familiar camp and walked the easy walk from there. I have been canoeing on this lake before, which would make for an interesting approach as well.

I came down the Coutts track in the rain, getting my pants soaked from the wet foliage...

Once at GZ I searched the wrong spot for a while until I trusted the GPSr and had an easy find. It seems I got all steamed up for nothing...

My 150th find! This one has been on the to do list for weeks now and finally decided to give it a shot. Feeling motivated, I parked the car and headed for the trailhead. The walk down was enjoyable. Made the find rather quickly compared to previous logs, with the Gps taking me straight to the spot. I signed the log while enjoying this little spot. Tftc

Took me quite a while to find this one, more than half hour or so. Very well hidden. The gps kept taking me to the small vertical circular holes which looked a bit dodgy. Thanks for the cache, beautiful spot.

First one of the day! Fantastic walk to warm up our bodies! Great spot great history great hide! I was way too positive it was with the train but then soon came to my senses as geo girl says look somewhere else!!

On a glorious Spring Sunday, Smigglepot and I decided to wander around the Heathcote NP, and to visit a few of the "Must Find" caches on our map (of course). We parked at the designated coords and followed the trail down to the service road then turned off to the track to GZ. I should have read the listing more carefully so missed the grammatical 'clues' that would have save a lot of searching through the obvious red herrings. While I was distracted, Smigglepot called out "is this what an ammo tin look like?".
In: TB/Travel Turtle and Telstra phone card (it still has a few dollars worth of calls but try finding a phone that'll accept it!Smile

TFTF Guys.
Needed a cache for the day to keep up my streak, on my way to the gong with some spare time, why not go for a beautiful walk.
Found the trail a little moist, but saw & heard some great Aussie Wildlife, spring has sprung... yeahhhhhh

What a great spot! We’ve walked past here numerous times before, but it’s always nice to return and it’s such a nice walk here. Interesting to notice many fresh human barefoot footprints along the track - someone’s brave with all the sharp stones! Once at GZ, the cache was easily found and Mr H couldn’t help but take a walk out to the old structure followed by a visit to the other side of the dam wall. A nice hide, a beautiful location, a super walk, and a great container too; a certain fav point! TFTC Team MavEtJu!
Cheers,

I was desperate to get out and about for a walk today and had the chance to get one in with helping Brewmaker with a nearby Multi. So after that we headed down the track to this Dam that I never knew was here.
I am really impressed with the way geocaching takes you where you would not normally go.
Thanks for this one Team MavEtju....excellent place.

Some months back I did a Duke of Edinburgh hike from Camp Coutts to Waterfall, but never knew about the lake and dam. Today, OCW pipes_down_under, we made the pleasant walk along the fire trail towards GZ. Once here the GPS sent us to one object then another before the obvious place in the hint came into play.

What a lovely place to rest and of course we took the opportunity to walk across the dam wall and check out the scenery, careful not to fall in! Now for a drive to Kurnell and look for Cape Baily Light. TFTC and for bringing us to another gem in the Shire. #714

Really enjoyed this cache - this is such an under-rated area, great to explore another part of it. Couldn't resist a wander over the dam wall after finding the cache. Always fascinating to see a little more of the history of the area.

We took the path down from near the south end of Warabin St then continued on past the cache to end up at the north end of the same street, a really pleasant walk and a route I would recommend to others.

This is a beautiful location, we looked at the different relics lying around the area., once located the cache, we did the duties before heading back to the car. TFTC

I was hoping to find this one yesterday, but after falling to find a parking spot for the cache in the other side of the highway, I was in a too desperate mood for coffee to care.
Today i had planned on a big adventurous caching trip lasting the whole day but the morning came too soon and i couldn't get started quick enough. A half day trip will have to do.
The last time i cached in the area i ran out of sunlight while still on the other side of the Ford and walked back through the scout camp and up the track in the dark. It's much easier in the day!
I had to look around in a few different places before finding the cache. Traded trackables while there.
Thanks for the cache.

FTF @ 1410hrs.
I was returned home after finding another Team MavEtJu cache as this one made an appearance on my phone. Will I?..yeeess.
I have been here before many years ago and used the track I did last time which turned out to be the long way around. No matter as it was a nice bush walk. Unfortunately I didn't have the cache in my GPSr so I transferred the coords into a WP on my GPSr from my phone. Arrived at GZ and started looking in obvious places. Unfortunately the phone signal was bad so I wasn't able to read the finer details of the cache.
So after around 10 minutes I broadened my FOV and looked for some likely places and yes found it. A nice recycled container. I dropped a TB I had just picked up this morning and signed the log. TFTC Team MavEtJu.
