Found on a big day walking Cooleman Ridge. Tried to find this cache years ago but the container I found was not actually the cache, it was just an empty box littered on the ground. Good to come back up today for a quick find. Very dirty cache on the outside but still nice and dry inside. Beautiful views from here of the back of the nature reserve. TNLNSL (some cool swaps in here though). TFTC!

Another Sunday had come around, so our small group formed up for another visit to Coolamon Ridge. We hit twelve caches today that I had not done before whilst walking too far and up and down too many slopes. There are some great views from some of the places along here, and the newish lookout was a favorite spot for the day.

Thanks for the cache SiteHound

Today I was out with a great group of friends walking the Cooleman Ridge. This location was the highlight of the day for me. It was a combination of Easter Island sculptures and the Stonehenge. Brilliant place. And the views were lovely and oh yes, the cache was found and the log signed. Thanks for this one SiteHound. Take a FP from me for the location.

Out with some friends to tackle the middle of Cooleman Ridge. This is our last cache planned for today and what a finish it is. Surely this would have been an important place for indigenous people.

A long weekend and georges Canberra winter weather, while there was lots of work/school/house work we just had to plan a hike this weekend and zeroed on on Cooleman ridge as the prefect spot.
Lots of new caches since our last visit and as allways great views to the hills and mountains from there. Wilma loves it. I was happy with all the finds and Dino was happily in tow. Hoppy for that matter couldn't imagine a better afternoon spend. (Poor Pebbles had to stay home, too sikc to hike)
Cache wise we cleaned out the northern half of the reserve, no DNFs 12 quick finds finds and a wonderful hike. We will be back for the southern half.

Quick find, once I had found a small train up the hill. Followed my GPS all the way to zero and then spotted the SPOR 3m on, all in good order nice and dry. Really cool up here, some cool monolith formations fun spot to spend some time unfortunaly Dino was not in the mood at this stsge so we continoued on our way back to the car.

Thank you SiteHound for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Cache 6498 on 22 Sep 2020.

After a session at the gym this morning and a very early morning FTF, I decided more exercise was in order and targeted the last unfound caches I know of on Cooleman Ridge. Found seven caches all up in the space of an hour, with over 3kms of walking on a gorgeous spring morning, then back home by 11am for a hearty breakfast!

First cache of this walk and such fantastic views from up here! In fact the views were gorgeous from lots of spots on the ridge - the Brindabellas just looked awesome. Cache found easily and in good condition.

Thanks SiteHound for the cache and for bringing me to another spot on the Ridge!

I have been kind of putting off Cooleman Ridge for a long time as the geofamily occasionally ask me for a nice nearby caching walk....but then they see the hills and balk at the idea.... so, as of this morning there are 16 hides up their waiting for me.

There clearly a few more coming.... 3 or 4, but never mind, they will keep for the next 6-12 months....maybe I will save them for a family walk.

Today I was out with Aquilus1 again, on a beautiful day. A little windy perhaps but it was just so nice out there.

This morning I thought I'd explore the northern part of Cooleman Ridge. It got a bit blustery at times, but luckily the rain held off. A great morning picking up more caches. This was the second last before returning to the warmth of the car! Thanks again SiteHound!

Beautiful view of the rest of Cooleman ridge almost got spotted

Big Thank You to StrangeTrousers for convincing me to espcape the house for some midweek fun caching. Have missed time out exploring and with the views out today it is understandable who. Stunning place to visit. Took along my walking poles for the hills but hardly needed them due to some clever work from my geobuddy with planning the route. It was the perfect day not to cold, the sun was out and caches found. Big Grin

This was my favorite spot - the views from here were magnificant.

#6068 12th for today

Perfect mid-week caching weather today so I dragged CBRChic out of hibernation and headed down to Cooleman Ridge. I never get tired of the views over the back towards the Brindabellas from here. I used to live down this way. I've cached here a few times over the years but now there is a bunch of new caches to make a new trip well worth while. We managed to minimise the amount of climbing with a carefully chosen route and no misses today.

Thanks SiteHound

**This Cache:**

A slightly strange spot to hide the actual container, I could see dozens of other spots it could have been hidden more securely! Oh well at least it was a great location and a good container regardless!

Thanks for the placement

**Today:**

It had been over a week since I last went out to hike in a quiet location and get out of the work / home routine so decided it was time for another isolation exercise afternoon Big Grin

Myself and DSD chose Cooleman Ridge today, as I had many unfound caches up there! In fact it was probably my largest cluster of unfound caches in Canberra!

It was a good afternoon, only saw a couple of other people out and about from distances but we had the place mainly to ourselves to search for each cache unhindered! We ended up with 14 total finds and no DNF's which was an awesome effort!

Thanks to all the CO's Smile

The Wednesday bushwalkers walked around Cooleman Ridge this morning which provided the opportunity to seek out 11 traditional geocaches in the area, of which I found ten. This one was a straightforward find, being in an obvious spot on the coordinates. Thank you SiteHound for installing and maintaining this cache.

Getting out for a walk whilst the weather was semi-decent. This spot must be popular as it was muggle central. Arrived on first pass to find a couple of walkers firmly entrenched taking pics and admiring the view. Still there after I had circuited and rock-hopped a bit so I decided to simply walk on - I had time and needed to get at least another km or so done. By the time I wandered back they were gone but as soon as I started my search another family turned up for a picnic! Well - surreptitiously made the find and carefully returned just slightly out of kiddies line of sight.

20-May-18
Sorry for the late log - I just realised I had not recorded these!

I found these caches on a gentle sunday-afternoon bike ride around Cooleman Ridge - always a popular one with me. I'd never taken these middle paths though (not the best for bikes I guess) so it was good to be shown somewhere new.

I was really impressed by the "standing stones" here. Quite a grand place, incongruously situated in the suburbs...

Thanks for the cache!

The rock formations around this hill top are worth the walk up just to see them. Spectacular views across to the mountains and on this grey cloudy day with rain building it did look quite nice still. Thanks for the cache SiteHound.

Nice walk up the hill with AddictedGamer and Aquilus1. Such a magical sort of area with the stones situated like they are. TFTC SiteHound!!!

15-Oct-17
Another pleasant walk up on our local ridge, taking in the views from both the Cooleman Trig and these rocks atop the next hill. Spotted a couple of rather large lizards (yes, definitely legs) sunning themselves. Great spot for a cache TFTC, dropped a TB, took 2Leg Drive path tag.

What a great spot! Love the rocks up here. Searched around for a while and then found the cache when I moved away from the more obvious spots.

Thanks,

18-Sep-17
Houndpup and I checked the cache today and it is there, unmuggled. Thanks to IamCoust confirming it was there and the empty plastic container was not the cache. We did find the plastic container and removed it from the nature reserve.

13-Sep-17
The plastic container in Toy Hunters photo is not the cache (I saw that one when I was there as well). The cache is still safe and sound, not too far away. Smile

09-Sep-17
A couple of people have logged that this one has been muggled, so I'm disabling it until I get the chance to check it.

09-Sep-17
Found on another short caching run before work. From the main path, climbing up to this cache was quite a challenge. The steepness continiously warmed me up and made me puffed, so it took a bit of time to get to the top. It was worth it for the views in the end though - loved them, from all perspectives! However at GZ, it appeared to me that the cache has been muggled. There was an empty container sitting on the ground with nothing else to be seen. Attached is the photo - correct me if I've actually found the wrong container, but from what I can see, it has been muggled Sad. TFTC though, Sitehound!

29-Aug-17
A quick walk around and then up. Using the phone today, GPRs at home, so not the most direct path to GZ. Great views afforded both over the city and to the Brindies. Favourite added for the views. Took TB. LNSL TFTC

oh well lets try another one nearby...

F(H)ound It! #1935 - @ 1:55 PM

After climbing to the nearby TRIG I went down and up again to find this one. I followed a fence for quite a while, worrying that I might not find a way through (I can't lift the RP easily). And then I suddenly came across a gate Smile. Beautiful piles of rocks and magnificent views . Thanks for the cache, SiteHound.

The first star trip up here was quite an adventure for us and I remember the night well. I also remember finding the final was relatively difficult, with so many sets of eyes, but I couldn't for the life of me remember the hide. It took a few minutes today too before I trusted the GPS and made the find. More great views. Thanks SiteHound
