Nice area and lovely falls: David

13-Nov-22
Thanks for all the great work you put into these caches, they are very enjoyable to visit and learn about.

28-Feb-21
A camping and caching trip out towards the Brisbane Ranges, we were not as prepared as usual so freestyle cached our way around.
A real shame when we got here, there was no water in the waterfall, and weeds everywhere, and the walk had been a hot and sunny one with no shade in the field.
Thanks for the earthcache, I imagine it would be nicer if there was actually water flowing.

28-Feb-21
Answers sent. We found some of the questions obscure, but we persevered and got there in the end. The falls were a small trickle.

12-Feb-21
My final cache for the day after completing the other two on the trail and a great opportunity to complete an earthcache.
The falls were flowing due to yesterdays rain and I didn't see another soul out on this trail so I had it to myself. Today was warm but it is a bit cooler down the bottom. I'm glad I finally came to see it.
Earthcache answers sent by email.

What a lovely walk around the top of the escarpment. Views to the river, a lovely mown track and 2 sets of falls and 2 traditional caches along the way to tempt cachers to this interesting area. I’d been to the Lal Lal Falls ages ago, but had no idea that Moorabool Falls existed. Thanks for the education and the walk, but glad I left enough time to fully enjoy the experience

TFTC. Nice spot.

We were out in the area doing a bit of walking and opted to head on over here and check out the falls.
Have to say we should bought the machete! Sure is a jungle down here.
After battling the foliage, we took a few pictures and scrapped a few answers together then headed off downstream to complete the walking loop.
An excellent and educational day.
Thanks for the earthcache.

A nice walk to the falls today, amazing to find gems like this hiding in our backyards.

We have been looking forward to coming here for years. When it was first published one kid was too small so we decided to wait for a while to attempt. Today as covid restrictions were eased we joined quite a lot of people on the walk to the falls. The walk was really nice and the weather just fantastic.
The falls had a good amount of water flowing which made the walk doubly worth it.
Thanks for this Earthcache Wozzle.

Found with the family.
I loved seeing this waterfall it was so cool.
It is also funny to think there was a volcano around here once upon a time.
Thanks for the EarthCache.

16-May-20
I had a good time on the walk to this EarthCache.
I liked the falls as they were flowing and helped find the answers off the sign and at the falls.
Thanks for a really good EarthCache.

The afternoon was warming up quickly so the walk down to the falls was taken with the fit Triton wearing his cane hat and a lather of sunscreen. Taking the worn track with long grass either side made him vigilant of slitheries on his trek. The track was steep and undulating closer to the falls but nothing he couldn't handle. ( Lucky the unfit Triton was left on car minding duties Razz )
The descent down to the falls viewing point was accomplished while taking in the results of the lava flows and watching just a trickle of water cascade over the face of the falls. Photos were taken before heading back up the steep steps to find the nearby trad.
Thanks wozzle68 for this informative earthcache in this secluded area. It's hard to imagine it once was a popular swimming hole and picnic area before access was cut by the Bungal Dam!

I’m not sure how more people don’t know about this area. Really pretty and even has falls! Absolutely loved exploring the area on a perfect day weather wise for caching. Thanks so much for showing me this place

It's funny after travelling so much around the state, I thought i had a lot of the waterfalls in this area covered. But no. This gem was still to be visited.

Aysen was so excited he ran most of the way here. not sure was he was expecting, but he was impressed. Even imitated the sound of the waterfall. Having done so many earthcaches, I was able to identify a lot more of the rock formations than I could pre-caching. Made me value the location and geology so much more.

A brilliant spot. Will have to come back some day.

Thanks for the effort into a EC out here.

Another day in the company of Na'wal, with a few caches to find. With the weather being pleasant enough, we had an enjoyable time. There was a great flow here, so plenty of happy snaps were taken. Answers gathered and sent to the CO. Thanks for the earthcache in this beautiful location. TFTEC wozzle68 Big Grin

We were lucky enough to have another great sunny winter's day so after I had the kids sport first thing, I met up with DAB and headed out to make a few more finds for the weekend.

I had been wanting to get out to these falls for ages. I didn't want to come out here in Summer due to snakes and low water flow so today was the perfect day. We trudged through some very wet areas along the track and along the slippery salt creek track to this earth cache. The falls were in great flow so it was great to see them this way. Other than the heap of blackberries, I'm sure this would have been a magic spot to swim many years ago for the locals. Answers observed and sent to the CO.

Some solo caching today which meant i could tackle some of the longer walk and higher terrain caches around Lal Lal as the geofamily struggle a little with these ones.
After visiting this area today I'm almost embarrassed that i have put off doing these caches for so long as it turned out to be a stunning area. Although smaller than the Lal Lal Falls I found this one was just as impressive and well worth the walk.
Answers sent to CO as required. Thx Wozzle68 for bringing us to this great spot, a hidden gem and worthy of more visits. FP awarded.

Found by Mary and David at 16:45:00. Continued on to the falls, which were running nicely today. Great view from both lookout platforms. You have given us so much fun and entertainment on this bitterly cold afternoon. Hope to see you at one of the Events on Saturday. Our thanks to wozzle68.

Walked here for some daylight, sunshine, admire the views of the Res, and to see the falls hidden in this back corner. Will send answers now.

Firstly, apologies for the lateness in logging.
Despite my tardiness, you can be assured I enjoyed each and every cache found and not found.
Apologies if this is a generic log, my memory is good, but not that good.

On this day I was out with Sorceysal and Tessie the geodog

Logging as Sorceysal has already provided the answers.
Adding a fave, thanks again wozzle68

Out and about with bogonghazy to clear up some local caches, well almost local. Parked at the requested area and walked into gz. Passed some other hikers along the way who had spotted a copperhead on the trail so we quickly put Tess the geodog onto the lead just in case. Thankfully nothing was spotted. Lovely views of the river added to the enjoyment of the walk. With the required answers gotten it was quicker walk back to the car as dark clouds, thunder and rain were all around us. Tried for the trad here, but the area is covered with thistles making it difficult to search and with the sighting of the copperhead, it made us hesitant to search any further. The reeds have almost covered the viewing platform. Thanks Wayne for the lovely walk.

Thanks for an interesting earthcache to drag us out here to enjoy this spot. Answers have been sent through.

I visited this location on the 3rd of October whilst enjoying some of the warmer weather we've been offered lately. The walk from the carpark was nice - it's great that we can enjoy two sizeable falls that are within strolling distance of each other.
TFTC!

10-Jul-18
I am logging this one with permission from the CO.
It has been a few months since I came in here with friends on a bushwalk that was not to involve caches and I was also without GPS that day.
However the basalt was easily seen as a result.

However the falls were in a nice setting but the dry autumn meant almost no water flow.
Thanks wozzle68 for the cache

After attending the International Earthcache Day Event, we enjoyed an interesting walk to the falls in the very good company of Alansee and Team Crackers.
Logged with a tick from the CO.

Thanks wozzle68 for the effort of creating another Earthcache and encouraging us to learn more about the environment.

Wow! What a hidden gem! The kids and I decided to tackle this wall today before the nearby geocaching event. I didn't read the description but knew it was a long hike. Oops - I was a couple of kms under in my guesstimate - good job kids don't understand distances yet! Anyway the kids and I parked at the beginning of the walk and had a wonderful meander along the track. Stunning views at various points. We continued on and made it to the Falls. Such a gorgeous amazing secluded spot. We took plenty of pics. Talked about the questions and then made the slow trek out via the other cache. We also cut through the fence and walked back to the car along the road as we had taken a fair while! Adding a fav here - just magical. (Answers given to CO at nearby event). Many many thanks.

Out with gmj3191and 08151605 today. Very pleased to reach the info board where our answers were discussed before heading off to survey the falls and then along the track to the trad. WE took the right way in and out I feel.
Answers will be sent to the CO (via gmj3191)for approval soon.

There's something timeless about this place...the crashing water is remarkably calming set amongst the trees. I like discovering places like this. At GZ I picked up the info I needed to qualify for my find and my answers are on their way. Thanks Wozzle68.

**Time: 3:40 pm**
**Date: Sun 8 Oct 2017**
A long hike from the car park got our little group to the GZ for this one.
Nothing like a nice waterfall, and another earthcache to boot, particularly on this day. Found with 6Hinemoa2, 08151605 and PamJ (who may or more likely will not log it).
It was a beautiful view, and then we walked back along the lower track to pick up the nearby trad.
**Thanks for placing this cache wozzle68**

Logged with permission grok CO.

Today, Sheppythekid, geobub and myself spent the day in the Lal Lal area grabbing the caches in the area. This is a fantastic area with a great mix of landscape, history and geology to be seen. We had a great day even though it rained of and on with a really strong wind in the exposed areas.

We started of at Moorabool Falls. The falls were flowing nicely after some recent rain, such a pretty area.
Thanks wozzle68 for all your caches in the area, we had a great day.
Cheers BWBandit

Logging with the approval of the CO
Spent most of the day on back roads and dirt tracks turning green boxes into smiles.
A relaxing walk to GZ which was made even more enjoyable watching the cascading falls.

Thanks for the cache wozzle68

Took the regular walk to the earthcache, it wasn't too taxing. Walking basically on grass, the whole way, meant I could look up and enjoy the beautiful vista. What a great walk and great place to be in the cool hours of the morning. When I arrived at GZ, it's easy to see the area has been a little neglected by the council or whoever is supposed to be looking after this place. But the natural beauty of the waterfall cannot be stolen by our inadequacies. I'd find out how deteriorated the tracks would be later. Answers sent to the cache owner for approval. Happy Easter to all! Thanks for the cache, wozzle68.

Found with Sims_family Enjoyed the falls Smile

20-Aug-16
Today the Sims_family returned to Lal Lal only one week after being here for the Event. This time we brought Sims_family Mum as she really wonder to see the falls. So after seeing the Lal Lal Falls we started of in the direction of Moorabool falls after waiting out some bad weather. With the suns shining we were hopeful of making it to the fall and back before any other bad weather set in. Unfortunately this was not to be. Half way round the weather started to turn bad and Master 4 and Miss 6 started to act up. They had made it far enough to at least catch a glimpse of the falls from a distance at least. So mum took Master 4 and Miss 6 back to the car while Nevile_devil, Miss10, Miss12 and myself continued on to the falls.
We made it the rest of the and once we were there weather came good again and the sun showed it's self again. It was beautiful sight to see the falls with such a lot of water flowing.
Thank you wozzle68 for bring us here to such a wonderful and beautiful part of the world.
Email will follow shortly with the answers and we will convert the write note to found when everything is approved.

We came here in a small group, which included the CO. What a brilliant spot of our earth this is, so deserving of an EC! We enjoyed the company as well and visited the different levels from which the falls can be observed. Not only did we meet a group of keen photographers, we were also able to discuss our answers with the CO on the spot, therefore logging with permission.
Thank you wozzle68 for luring us here! Now, off to the nearby trad.

Well the ageing Bushfire made the trip back up to this area that caching has bought me too before.
Like others I left Geelong where the weather was cool and sunny but by the time I arrived here the temperature had dropped into single digits and so I rugged up with the warmest that was on board but I cannot say I was cosy. This is a good opportunity for me to get into training for my trip to Alaska next week and taking a dog sled trip in the snow and walking on glaciers.
This is the last log in this area on this cold and bitter day but very enjoyable and after a enjoyable walk into this area that I have never been to before and gaining my 85th Earth Cache find and on returning to the parking area the Cache Owner was there and after giving my answers I was given the OK to log this guy.
Big thanks to wozzle68 for showing me this area.
After this a group of us ventured into Buninyong for a great geocaching chat and a lovely meal and a long overdue coffee.

Great day to explore around Lal Lal Falls after attend event at Lal Lal Falls.
Its amazing here Moorabool Falls.
Worth effort after climbing down in a short cut without getting my feet wet.
Muddy but fun!
Lovely stroll back to the car parked with other cachers. Surprised)
Thanks wozzle68 for bring me here and earthcache.

At the Lal Lal duck event today, so doing all the nearby caches too. Great location in this area. We are having a very fun day today. We decided to do the full walk from the car park to this cache and on to Moorabool Falls. May have ended up quite a bit longer than the map said, lol. Beautiful walk that lots of other people missed though. Great to see heaps of water in these falls too. Geohubby and Mr13 had an adventure here. They decided to go right to the top of the falls and wade in. However, they dropped Mr13's shoe and over the falls it went. Search and rescue ensued to retrieve the lost sneaker. Thankfully it was found or it would have been an expensive adventure. They'll remember this cache for quite a while! FP for the fun and the location. TFTC.

A detour on my way to Melbourne meant a beautiful walk on a beautiful day and a bonus {FTF}. What a stunning spot and an awesome walk to the falls, thanks wozzle68. A prompt response from the CO has given me the green light to log.
