After two DNFs on B&W caches on a morning geocaching run from our holiday accommodation it was great to finally come across a cache that could not be missed. This means we can use it for the [Rambler's Reward Challenge Cache](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC2XBA7). TFTC!

Passed here by myself yesterday on a morning run out from Double Bay. Trifolia Argentea came along today to log the caches. Some truly amazing views out here!

I have been working further out in the sounds this week and today is my day off. So after multi info gathering and another find, this was #2. Unusual, out in the open set up but it works. Signed in and went on.

Cache logbook is available to be signed, no problem here.

When growing up I spent a lot of time in this area but have only managed a couple of brief visits in the last 20 years or so. The population density has increased dramatically, and most of the spots I recall having stunning views from the road are now almost fully treed in. The road is currently in a hell of a state with multiple slips, one way sections and massive carve-outs under some sections. Pleased to make the brief revisit on a warm summers morning. Cache was a quick find with all in good order. We didn't have time to go up to Mt Cawte today - and when I last when up there it was a bush/gorse bash from the water reservoir intake for Moetapu Bay - nothing like this well formed track! Thanks capperz for the cache.

Exploring an area where SJT_NZ spent a lot of time in his' yuff'. We knew the area had been hit badly in the July 21 floods and work has addressed a number of primary risk areas but still a lot more work to go. Nice to be able to enjoy some of the views across the sounds. Thanks Capperz for the cache all in good order and a very clever approach for the log.

On a numbers mission today to get my quota for the month as I chase another challenge cache.
Finished cycling the QC track and Anakiwa all full of smiles time for a short drive around this peninsula.
I had briefly contemplated walking to the top but time and lack of fitness stopped me. Interesting cache. I still want totally convinced that this “was” the log book until I eventually found the previous finders name back a couple of pages.

Well that was a pretty straight forward find! I am not tackling the track today as I am on my own, but I look forward to returning with the other 3Prettys.
Thank you for bringing this track to our attention.

Now......this is one we are not sure.
Found a logbook, but it looks like a log for the track.
Looking back into the logbook it was signed by previous entries on geocaching.
So signed and made clear we are not going on this track.
Would be nice to know if this was the intention or if there is another logbook some where.
Thanks

This is my second walk of the day... already feeling a bit tired - so I know this hill (Mountain) is going to feel tough. A quick note in the book and I was off...

Found with NZDi. With only two days left of my Labour/Marlborough Anniversary break left, and today being the only one with a decent weather forecast, we decided to go on a geocaching mission. There are not many patches of Marlborough left for me to turn into smileys, but the Moetapu/Mt Cawte area was one that was a sea of green. So today it was our mission to turn it yellow.

Last night I ran a Pocket Query on the area, did some research, asked a previous finder the finer details of a tricky looking multi and prepared a few caches to replace some that have been DNF'd recently, as well as place one of my own should the occasion arise. It seems I didn't prepare enough unfortunately.

This morning I did a quick trip to the supermarket to get enough food to sustain us through our adventure and then we were in the geomobile making our way in this direction.
After starting the day with a find on the Kenepuru Road, we turned onto the Moetapu Bay Road for the main course.

The company I work for owns a holiday home in the Kenepuru Sound and for the past 25 or so years we have managed to holiday in the area, but this is the first time I've ventured down this road.

I remember the CO talking about this new placement when it was listed and recalled I had a similar idea with an identical location just over 4km away. Despite being back there at least once, I haven't done anything about it yet. I'll be going back in February, so perhaps then. Anyway, because of that conversation, I had no difficulty working out where to sign this cache. There are similar structures at the top (proximity issues for a cache there though) and at the far end, (where there are also proximity issues).

There are a couple of songs that come to mind, that the CO will know. One of them is 'Stairway to Heaven', and the other is 'Highway to Hell'. It always occurred to me that perhaps these songs were named due to the amount of traffic that used them. Anyway, this is one hell of a stairway.

Exploring yet another part of the world I've never been to before - - - seems to just keep on happening. An extra cool idea for a log book. Reminds me of Rural Rest Revisited where I very nearly signed the wrong book. Thanks for the cache Big Grin.

Very cheeky hide here. I like it! Luckily I had uncharacteristically read the descriptions and some logs on the caches before we left this morning so I had a good idea of where to look - it could've taken a while otherwise. TFTC # 10,671

The SIS have been planning to go to Pop's top spot for ages - but life and other caches had got in the way. So we were in the parking spot for this cache and Pop's cache and deciding how far to go today as it had been raining. The rain had stopped and the driver's thoughts that favoured the full trip tipped the balance. So we put on our packs, went to Cawte Up and then on continuing to catch up.
Mrs Sobad had not researched this cache as much as one her fellow cachers - well she had not researched it at all in fact. The extra research had that cacher finding the log and confirming it was the right one. So it was a quick sign and then we headed up. We were very fortunate as we got back to this cache with only a bit of misty rain in the last short stretch - and almost caught up on all the news.
Thanks for the extra at the start of the walk.

Another extra cheap petrol day, 20c per litre off. So I celebrated with a longer than usual trip for today's cache. Yep, I am still working on your calendar project, trying to get my finds up to four per day. I had already driven past the Havelock Link caches when I remembered that there was a new cache there. Has it been found yet? Should I find that one in preference to this? Darn - no cellphone coverage. Carried on in the expectation that the new cache had been found, and when I got signal later I confirmed it. Back to the original plan. Very quick find here, nice to see something a little different. It was still dinnertime by the time I got back to Woodbourne so I stopped into work for dinner. Cheaper than eating out! After today there are another 34 weekday days to go. This Saturday is going to be awkward - big cycle trip and the only available cache is 2km the wrong way. I am going to have to get ready early in order to cycle out to find it and get back before our cycle trip starts. Dawn, probably. Sad

Took some time out today to go for a drive and find some caches. Well that certainly wasn't what I was expecting. No problems finding the cache. It's been well muggled - but in a good way. Worth a FP for cache ingenuity. TFTC, Biggles.

Today's focus was climbing this hill. Nice hide here, thanks Capperz. Surprised so few have logged this find.

A local who lives nearby has put the GC code in the book. I would have caught up with him but his phone number left at home in laptop (oops).
Added my name to the book. Nice one, and thanks for the cache.

Looks like I was F to get to the cache this morning, as I was up here before 0900, on our way out to town. Nice to have a FTF today as this was the last day I needed to complete a cache on every day of the year. So that's that one knocked off. Really liked the cheekiness, capperz, so is worth a F point from us [;D], as we hunted for a while for the hiding place!!!!
