I have been down this track before, last time I was again with my sister. But last time I didn't even think about geocaching until after we got back to the car. Doh! This time I was ready and we found 5 caches between us. Not bad for her as she is a muggle and is not really interested in geocaching. So this is the first stop, not far from the car park. A nice easy find.---I rang my sister a couple of days ago and we decided it is time for another walk. I suggested finding the tin hut, something she had tried to do once before. This time it is easy - we have coordinates! We parked at the Maungariki Road car park, walked down to the dam, passing this cache along the way. Took the track along the stream then up the ridge to the hut. A bit dodgy, that ridge! Then continued up the ridge to the track above, then down the track to Baked bean corner. Except we followed an old track short cutty thing but got it very wrong and ended up on the main track at the stream near the hut turnoff. Undeterred we carried on along the main track and carried on to baked bean corner and then on to the next track junction. Then we headed back via the main paths. All-in-all, just over 9km.
Almost a year after my previous DNF I was back here again with my occasional geocaching sidekick Barnacle Boy.This time we managed to spot the well hidden cache after a bit of poking around close to the hint object at the coordinates. Thanks very much for the cache.
I spent 10 minutes here this morning but I unfortunately didn't manage to track this one down.
The current challenge is to log one cache for at least 20 individual days this month to gain the gold souvenir.
After logging a DNF on the cache on the other side of the car park, sadly I have to do the same here. I believe me and Miss 10 found the correct stump, there is only one, and we found a few spots which could have been great potential hiding spots, but no cache anywhere to be seen. There does seem to be a lot of clippings and debris around… maybe the area has had a clean up since the cache was last found in October last year.
Might need a visit from the CO to confirm if this one is still there?
With two DNF’s Miss 10 and I called it a day and went home to light the fire. My first day for the month where I haven’t found a cache. Should still make it to 20 though!

Taking the little man on an adventure and today he is excited to see what treasures we an find. Great little hide to start us off. And apart from the trig this was the only one for the day as we forgot to download our list
This one was quite hard as the path was slippery. Awesome hiding spot. Lots of gorse and fun
Out and about with Flowerydaze in an area we were not familiar with but what a lovely area. Must get quite busy on a nice day. Flowerydaze found this one while I searched in the wrong area and getting prickled by dead gorse. TFTC ChurchEadeFamily.
I persuaded Talla64 to ignore the unpromising weather forecast and come with me for a caching exercise. We drove down from Kapiti with a short list of caches to seek out, and this was one of them. We've not been to this area before (how often we say that!). The co-ords for the cache were spot-on according to my phone, and I found the cache easily. I was pleased about that because, so far today, Talla has been the finder and despite searching he'd actually missed this one. We had to wait a short while until a muggle passed by. It's a bit cold and windy today but I imagine on a nice sunny day, this will be a busy area. Thanks for placing a cache here and for bringing us to a new area.
Good Friday, and the start of a nice long weekend away from work for me. Oh except I'm working on Saturday morning... and also working on my house... and probably working on another house too...so anyway, today was a stunningly gorgeous day in the Capital, so decided to make the most of some down time before all that other shenanigans starts.
I was up this way this afternoon, chasing the FTF on a new cache (which I got) and walked back to the car via this track which was different to the one I had taken to get to that other cache.
This was a nice quick find at GZ, which had great co-ordinates. The container is a bit damp, but otherwise fine.Soon added my name onto the log before replacing it all back waiting to be found again.
Thank you for setting this cache up.

After a little drama involving one of the junior cachers slipping and skinning a finger, our Spidey senses kicked in and we spotted the clever hiding spot. Tftc
Found on a nice day while hiking to the Belmont Trig. Tftc with jakesrage and gnomeyhan
Nice quick find on the start of the trug track. Tftc with isistibisi and gnomeyhan
A very, very busy spot on a fine Sunday morning. Find was made once I stopped trying to over complicate the search. Log in good shape, but I am surprised this one isn't more popular given its location. TFTC. My first for a couple of months
GPS spot on!!! Cache and log book dry in its little nest. Big g bag absolutely soaked!
What a great place! TFTC
What a great place! TFTC
Pretty hard to miss this one - right next to the track but nice and snug its hidey-hole.
A nice easy find on not such a nice day. Almost got muggled at GZ as a lady and her dog were coming up the hill but luckily she was huffing and puffing and she was looking down at the track! Enjoyed my walk around the loop track. TFTC
A very nice find and a well protected cache, spent more time unfurling all the protective wrap than actually finding its little hidey place. Thanks for the cache and for getting us out on a rather dreary Saturday morning
Cache has been replaced and repositioned slightly so it is within half a metre of the clue
Quick find once I saw the hint. An absolutely insanely windy day up here! Makes exploring more fun
Nice quick find here and no huffing or puffing as I came from the carpark. TFTC # 13,141
The difficult rating is a bit high for this as we could see as we approached it. TFTC.
Missed GZ on the way on the loop track, so ran back after we'd done our walk. Great track and jealous of your lovely hills.
Whilst the rest of the family were taking part in the Winter Classic orienteering event today, I decided I needed a walk to try and get over Jet lag. Really appreciated the quick find, and the nice dry replacement logbook! TFTC
Thanks Yeti, we have temporarily disabled this cache while we replace the logbook (which was very very wet)
A quick find at night by torchlight. Log is saturated. Managed to squeeze enough water out to scratch my name. TFTC
Out for a walk with the family to Cornish St. Not the best of days but everyone else had the same idea, joggers, dog walkers, Scouts. Luckily no-one came past while we were retrieving the cache.
Out for a walk tonight. Not sure how far I will get. A few caches on the way. Streight forward find. TFTC
Today I walked in the Belmont National Park to the highest point, the Belmont Trig.
On the way I could find a few Caches - this was the first. Thanks for the Cache to all owners and many Greetings from Germany.

Mrs Gpetone found it while I stumbled in the bushes.
Out for a walk from Petone up via Maungaraki and down the Korokoro Stm.

Did this from the top so an easy stroll.
Took me longer than it should have to spot the hint item and the hide.

Found on a tramping club walk over Belmont Trig. The Belmont Regional Park is a real asset, thanks WRC. Thanks also to those who place this cache.
Came up the hill to grab a few outstanding caches. A quick walk and the container was soon in hand. All in order. TFTC
I spent way too long in wrong side of track here! It was beginning to get dark, so I forgave myself as I saw the spot immediately after coming out from the bush line! Then a very quick find - could have saved myself a few minutes. all good at GZ
Thanks for another smilie.

Hoping to see you at the [Oamaru Geofest](https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6M2V0_oamaru-geofest-2017) during Labour Weekend 21-22 October 2017. Let’s all help this a successful event!
Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code.

We walked right past here on our last geocaching trip to this area but mustn't have had this one loaded on the GPSr. Spotted the hiding place quickly. TFTC
This track is closed until 19 May due to track construction further down the hill. Although it doesn't affect the cache at the moment it's probably best to disable at this time. (Hat tip to Trancer for alerting us to the closure)
Technically this cache should be disabled because it's on track that will be closed until May 19 (see image). However since it was only 30 metres or so beyond the barrier and the reason for the closure is much further down the track I decided to sneak past and have a look. A reasonably quick find. TFTC.
My daughter was having a school trip to the Belmont Regional Park this morning. I got roped in to be a parent helper. They were supposed to be at the Oakleigh Street entrance at 9.30am so I headed up there at about 9am to have a look for the 2 geocaches near the top. I found this one, but not the other.
The cache is in good condition. All nice and dry inside.
Thank you

I was up this way for work today and decided I might as well check this out while in the area. The rather inclement weather meant the car park was empty when I got here. Found the cache reasonably quickly which was good as the rain was threatening to return. TFTC
Nice walk to the dam and beyond after the WENZ event today.
We soon found the cache. SL TFTC

#3394. I needed at least one cache find today so headed over to Maungaraki in search of some caches. After escaping from the alien abduction at the Maungaraki shops, I made my way up here to settle my nerves and see if I could find a small container hidden in the woods. Well the container was spotted fairly easily. I am guessing it wasn't meant to be in that place. Signed the logbook and tucked it away out of sight of prying eyes of muggles and strange green men. Thanks for the cache.

Stumpy got me stumped for a while. I was too inclined to look on the other side of the track and for this reason it took me longer that needed to find the box. If using OSM, look on the other side, not the one where the map shows you!
Thanks for the cache!

Good day to get the kids out for a bit of a walk, hadn't done this track in a long time and it is better than I remembered great way to start with finding this cache. Cheers
A nice quick find, reasonably close to the car. I was in the area and light was fading, so i was thankful for the closeness. TNLNSL. TFTC!!!

Cache # 3,375 - Having spied where this was on a walk here last week, I returned this morning for a quick stroll and grab. Wanted to take care of this while school holidays were still on to minimise the rush hour traffic back into Wellington. All good with the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC!

Awesome camo Eli! Was looking all around before realised was right in front of me.
Found with TregearP whilst in the area for Tuesday night tennis.

A quick find prior to playing tennis at the local club. A lovely little cache that slipped into its surroundings well. A bonus geocoin which I will take to the East Cape later this month. TFTC
Mrs Sobad had found all the caches in easy walking distance of her sisters house in previous visits, so this new cache was welcome. We both did the loop to the dam on a previous trip and enjoyed it but time constraints made it a shorter loop today. The two of us walked up the street then Mrs Sobad looped up and over and in then out around and down while her sister just went back as she is restricted to T1 walks for a few more weeks.
A favourite point for a just the right size walk, just the right size container for a geocoin and a nice touch of camo.Thanks.

Missed it on the way to the dam as we went right past, but found it on the way back. Found with Ginarley. tftc
Meant to find it on the way down to the dam but had already gone past it when I remembered to check the GPS so found it on the way back. A very clever piece of camo and quite a surprise, nice job making something so simple work so well

Had originally planned to go for a run up the Korokoro Stream from Cornish Street, but the track is closed again. So this was my second choice of entry to the park. I wasn't sure this new cache was in my GPSr, but yay - it was; a nice quick find as I started my descent. Coordinates were spot on. Nice camouflage. TFTC.
A quick find this afternoon, much closer to the start of the track than I had been expecting. Nice camouflage job on the container, it works well in this spot. Signed log, TFTC
#8284. Joint {FTF} with Yeetrees at 14:44 and first day find. We were in Lower Hutt when this cache was published. So a quick drive up to Maungaraki and a short walk to GZ. It was all quiet when we visited. Found after a short search. Good camouflage and hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
