We are on a road trip visiting family, getting a couple of the Maths geo art caches. This one happened to fit into our journey. Like the hide. Thanks 73ponys
Was cautious about this one as I didn't want to get wetter . . . . . budum-tiss. Soon had my name in the log and replaced as intended.Anzac Day is always a special day and today was no exception. I was home alone, and will be for a wee while, so headed out alone to the Marton dawn ceremony with an 0540 gather and 0550 march-off. A nice turn-out, and the weather was kind and the speeches and formalities well-done and modest in their length. This set the day nicely for a viist to my daughter's prior to the annual Popmac Event. All of this was washed down with a trip to the Wairarapa for some Maths lessons and other treats. I intend to spend tomorrow getting swiftly onto some swifty caches then swoop up what is in scope before heading home. Thanks to all COs for their efforts and ongoing maintenance.
Yay! I found it... after a very windy tramp in the hills to Cone Hut.We tracked down the elusive Cedric and were happy in our tent for the night. Thanks for all the Wairarapa caches!! I must return another day for more. TNLNSL TFTC
I reached down to grab the cache and stepped back twice as fast until I realised it was safe. Got the heart racing a little. Nice hide thanks 73ponys, maiz.man

Anyone could be forgiven for thinking we changed our mindset from mathematics to the periodic table of elements for this cache. But no something much more dear to my heart - not the giant weta! I'm quite familiar with the story of Ranganui and Papatūānuku and their separation and also with many of the Atua but not the next generation after that. Thank you so much for highlighting this significant pakiwaitara. TFTC # 19,858
Out and about collected the maths series, and included this on the list to find for the day. Bitterly cold in the ‘rapa today, and with caching early in the morning is not much fun, so I was happy to have a quick find here.
Out on a cold Saturday afternoon hunting for the Maths Journey series with TwigNZ, Itchyfeet2020, and Mr McGoo (TIMM). There'd been quite a bit of surface water around GZ, so to approach this one I had to pick my way around a large boggy patch beside the road. Found the cache in it's natural element, plus guardian! All good in the container, returned as found, then managed to go ankle-deep in a puddle on the way back to the car. TFTC!
A group of us welly cachers came over the hill this weekend to find a few more caches, celebrate a milestone and enjoy the Wairarapa winter festival. Part of that plan included four of us hitting the Maths series and all others in the surrounds, which found us here. Matagouri took the wet feet hit here in the long grass. Like the sign. Signed as Team TIMM for TwigNZ, Itchyfeet2020, Matagouri and MrMcGoo.
(# 8020) Up in the Wairarapa for a weekend to catch up with caching friends and a touch of caching, and the winter festival. The primary goal was to get the solved Math's Series. Got this as were in the area.
Out getting these with TwigNZ, Itchyfeet2020 and matagouri on a Saturday afternoon. To save log space, signed under TIMM. A quick find.
Thanks for bringing me here. Due the coolness of the day had a Mulled Gin at the festival to defrost.

Today was another day in and around Greytown locating and signing off a few more caches.
The guardian has kept the cache safe.
Cheers for the cache,73ponys.

I am on a road trip with Lis'screw and today we had the pleasure of caching with a local who drove us around the area. This one was located quickly, which may have been because of our local guide parking so close to the GZ. TFTC.
I've just been on a great geotrip with my friend thedbees. We went to the Palmerston North area to collect the Stickmen and Viking puzzles. We then came down to stay with a geocaching buddy in Greytown. She kindly drove us around this area. The next day we set off for Levin picking up a few more specifically targeted caches. Then it was back north to Paihia with a stop over in Auckland.
We had completed the Railway AdLab and were aiming for the M series. As we toured around we collected whatever caches were on the way. I soon had the hide sorted but despite guessing what I'd find I stilll jumped. Thanks for slightly scary hide

Nice easy find, although it was difficult to park safely, and the road was quite busy today. TFTC.
Travelling today in convoy with Team Welsh, initially going from Dannevirke to Greytown, and then back north and over the hill to Palmerston North. A long eventful day, with plenty of caches found (69 for us).Another fun Trad cache on our Maths Journey puzzle pick up. Have to say wetas are not my favourite creature, but I'll add a Favourite point for the cache. Thanks.
Hmmm, wetas aren't my fav insect, I think they are quite beautiful but got bitten by one many times when I was about 7 and still remember how much it hurt. Another creative cache placed for others to find, it is appreciated.
Tftc, bit of long grass surrounding this one - lucky we were wearing gumboots. Out with tash2494
I made my way over to this cache after recently completing a small section of a nearby geotrail. As my GPS narrowed in on GZ, I found myself a safe space nearby to park and exit my vehicle. When I arrived at GZ on foot, I very quickly identified the object being referred to in the hint. As I searched the surrounding area for the cache, I placed my hand on something which momentarily startled me. It turns out I had just found the cache. Thank goodness!
I quickly scurried back to my car to retrieve my pen to sign the logsheet. With the lack of space on the sheet, I shortened my signature to 'PagC'. I put the lid back on the container and returned it to its hiding spot after signing.
Many thanks for this very creative and freaky little hide.

Thankfully weta fake. On a road trip with HS and E to the Waiarapa. So much easier with 3 pairs of eyes doing the searching. Tftc
Found on a day trip with hayden.seek and deltatea. Thanks COs for this nicely themed cache, and it is a generous size. A favourite added.
Found it - TFTC. Fortunately someone had recently mowed near the cache or we'd prob never have found it
Some interesting Maori mythology and a quick easy find of a fun cache, with the slightly cryptic hint making sense at the cache location. A favourite from us. TFTC
A quick find on a surprisingly busy road. Lovely scenery - thanks for placing a cache here 73ponys.
That weta in the picture is serious large - much larger than any "giant" weta I have seen in person. I "parked" just a bit down the adjoining road where I could kind of get it off the road a bit and walked he few metres back to the cache. A quick find of a type I've seen quite a lot of without needing to use the hint. Not particularly keen on the location but no cars went by while I was here so it wasn't too bad. TFTC.
Love the cache container E we did get a bit wet in the long grass, but not too bad at all.
FP from me

Had barely signed log when a straggling group of cyclists went past including someone who asked if there was a problem and said it was their land nearby. Thanks for great cache.
Long wet grass - I wasn't looking forward to this! Luckily I found in the second place I looked. Nice hide. TFTC.
Day out with BFG in the Wairarapa. Cache insides were soggy but liked the container and hint. Could do with a little TLC and water tight container. T4TC and Puzzle
The hint made a lot more sense once we got to GZ TFTC 73ponys, another nice hide!
With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. We’re relocating down the road today. So our base camp shifts to Carterton for the night…
Spotted the weta immediately. The log was slightly damp but useable. Thanks 73ponys & maiz.man and TFTC.

An afternoon wandering around Greytown. Nice hide but log a bit wet. Thanks for the cache.

Eeek. Got a fright even though I knew what would be there.
Logs very wet and replacement log small and nearly finished. I had no paper to top up.

A nice quick find thanks. Made me laugh, earnt a Fav Point, cheers.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, with the threatened rain starting mid afternoon. Mostly just showers though. Today we cruised around the Wairarapa which was cool.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

#435 I didn't read the details of the cache before looking for it and that was a mistake because I got so frightened tftc
It's Valentine's Day today.
What should a good Husband do?
* Spend it with his @WonderfulWifey?
* Or go away on a 'date' with two of her three other 'Husbands'?
The date won out (sorry darling!) and BoardGamesHusband, StaycationHusband, and RealHusband convened for an assault on archived Skindo caches in the Wairarapa (plus a couple of PWGT and other randoms thrown in for good measure - like this one!).
To try to claw back some W.A.F. points, we did take SkyCraneKid (FKA. EtherMaster) along for the trip. Not sure if it was sufficient though...?
Growing up I loved the tv cartoon Captain Planet where there were also five elements: Water, Earth, Fire, wind, and **heart**.
"By your powers combined, I am Captain Planet!"
> log signed as TECatS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)

Love weta! The BEST creepy crawly around!
Teamed up with Etherlord and Ether Master from the Etherlord Clan and TwigNZ, for a raid in Skindo land. We arranged to meet in Masterton, swapped into one car and headed south. The aim was to get the 5 PWGTs south of here, and to collect Skindo's achived caches, especially puzzles, along the way. although we did get a few others as we were "just passing".
But time conspired against us. Or maybe it was skindo himself, as we only got 50 caches, and only as far south as Greytown. We have made a tentative plan to be back in a couple of months to to come back and work this area again.
All logs signed as TECATS - TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid.

Having been over here in the Wairarapa only a few weeks ago, I wasn't expecting to be here again so soon. But the chance to have a whole day out caching with friends was too good to miss. Between us we hatched a plan to get as many archived Skindo caches as we could, and any others we were going to be driving right past. My main roles today were as driver and searcher, whilst happily leaving the navigation to the others who were able to use their GPSRs and programs other than the official app to see the caches I couldn't.
My apologies for the generic logging, but anything notable will be commented upon. For convenience all logsheets today were signed TECATS (for TwigNZ, Etherlord Clan and The Seagnoid) regardless of whether any 1 of us may have already have found a cache on a previous trip.
This Trad was a simple Park n Grab. A nice quick surprise find at GZ, and finding no issues with this one the log was quickly signed and the whole thing was replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

It didn't take long to track this one down although the grass is pretty long here.
The log book is very wet but we didn't have a replacement. Hopefully our name is etched in enough to be readable.
Thanks for setting this up

Ha, good one sitting in the wide open. Nicely put together and copes with the water in the stump. TFTC
After a long period of lockdown and travel restrictions we are now able to travel between regions. I took this opportunity today to come back over the hill for a return visit to boost my find count for May so that I can finally sign off the now archived 250 finds in every month series. This was helped by completing the Masterton Adventure Lab for an easy ten finds (plus the bonus). In that regard I was successful, with only a couple of DNFs on a couple of archived caches worth recording.
Finally, after being defeated on a couple of previous attempts, I can finally get a smiley on this one. The guardian was siting proud and so the cache was a quick find this time. All good here. TFTC

Nice simple find on a blazing hot summers day. Love the container! Cache in great, dry condition. TFTC
This was the third day of a trip with my Muggle wife down to Greytown. I got the entire day to do some Geocaching, so I headed to this area to get a few more. Great container. TFTC.

Nice container. It's Canterbury Anniversary weekend so JDScout and I organized cheap flights up to Wellington awhile back. The plan is to drive to Greytown on Friday and base ourselves there. Thanks 73ponys, maiz.man for placing this geocache 7931 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

Hoping to let the 2016 CITO Leaf Nanocoin (as per owner’s instruction) visit but despite a good look we couldn’t find the cache- perhaps it is hidden under the thick and tall grass.
We found the hint object for this one but the very thick long grass prevented a thorough search.
Going in reverse order from iii to ii looking for a few local caches that have been out there for nearly a year now.
Spotted the nicely concealed fauna - another clever hide. TFTC.

#3651. Yay, Friday dawned clear and sunny and I had the day off work. So it was time to have another adventure in skindoland. Love geocaching in the wide open spaces of the Wairarapa. My mission today was to find at least 50 caches for the DGSC challenge. Set off from Wellington at 8am and got back home at 11pm having travelled on some remote and dusty roads in the back of beyond. Ended up bagging 61 caches (including one archived cache found by chance). Today the target area was the caches on the remote dusty roads NE of Masterton but also picking up a few others en route. Nice quick find here. Always pays to check they are not moving first. Signed the log and returned the cache to its hiding spot. Thanks for the cache 73ponys.
