Logs
Day 3 of our mega trip and today was the day to hit the logging trail and some extras of course! After finishing those we wandered in the general direction of our home for the weekend, caching along here. Thanks for the cache. Signed SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)
Last morning finding a few last caches in our old hometown, at last the sun has returned. Great view of the airport from GZ TFTC.
In Dunedin for Geo Toroa (Mega) with a team of cachers from South, East Auckland (SEAC), NZTravellers, KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, and myself. This is our usual annual caching trip where we usually travel to a Mega (in NZ thus far) and/or cache the area, or select an area most of us haven't been caching before, to gain maximum numbers for all. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining caches in some stunning locations that we may not have visited had it not been for geocaching.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space unless specifically required to sign individually.TFTC.
Here for the 2024 Mega with a group from Auckland. Sorry for the generic logs. Thank you to all the cache owners who placed the caches to support my addiction. Most logs signed as SEAC.
Team SEAC consisting of HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, UncleSam, Keylev and ourselves headed to Dunedin for the 2024 MEGA!All logs were signed as SEAC to save paper (except where specific signing requirements were requested)Third day of our Mega weekend. The weather although wet wasn't as cold as yesterday. Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!TFTC
We are in Dunedin for the Mega and this is day 3 of our trip. We planned to get numbers today so headed to the series down this way. All logs signed with SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) {unless otherwise required int he cache} as there are 5 caching names in the group; stik-a-crane, unclesam, NZTravellers, Keylev and us. A lot of fun was had, lots of laugh and memories made with friends.
Great outlook, parking a bit dodgy so I drove up then parked on the way down. Found with Debsnz.
Headed straight to the obvious hint object where the viewis even better then realised that GPS was pointing closer to the road and cache found quickly. Log wet and could do with some TLC. Found with Spoonz2
Had to drop geohubby off in Mosgiel, so decided to head out this way to find a few caches while I was here. Soon found this one with its new logsheet. As I was putting it back, I noticed the old logsheet on the ground. Don't know if it was there when I arrived, or dropped out while I was extracting it. So rolled both sheets up together and replaced in the container. TFTC.
??? Parking ??? was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. We saw an ?????? aeroplane ?????? taking off while looking for the hide. The logbook was full.
A few days away caching with Nosynel. The cache was covered in dust and the log inside was wet and full. There is no room to record your name unless you scribble over the top of another. Great view up here. Fun drive up and down too. Tftc, Hall-way.#9946
Had an appointment in Mosgiel and since it was a fine day I decided to grab a few handy caches on my way home. Quick easy find. Nice view over to the airport from here. Lovely coconut-scent of the gorse flowers wafting up the hill on the breeze. Log is full but managed to sign in a sideways gap. Tftc.
We are enjoying our explore here. Log book is full but managed to squeeze our log in a gap. Thanks for this cache Hall-way,
Had no pen, so did not sign it, but had a productive chat with the sheep on a nearby hill. TFTC
On my way to Oamaru getting some caches for a challenge. All good with the cache. Thanks
A nice quick find, though the GPS was bouncing around a bit. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we made it as far as Owaka, very windy in places and it got hotter the further south we went.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Good views from here, although my little car did not like the parking options. TFTC!!
I automatically walked up to the higher gate but as I read the description I realised I was heading the wrong way. Soon had the cache in hand. The logbook was damp so dried it off. Logbook is almost full but the older names are fading so will soon be able to reuse those spots!
Thanks for the cache, Hall-way

Cool lil cache had to be careful by the side of the road, lil hard toget log out as it was damp, manged to log our find
Well, the surveyor had gone, as had the cache. Or at least, so I thought.
However, as it turned out, I should not have been looking for what I was looking for.
Log signed, and promptly cleverly rehidden.
Thank you for the cache.

Nope didn't search today as a surveyor emerged from the nearby trees with some very fancy equipment decided to leave for another day .... ....
I flew in to Dunedin this morning (funnily enough) about 9:30am today on my own for a special mission. I picked up my rental car at the airport and I'm of to collect old caches here and there, some mystery finals and some others for a challenge cache I’m working on.
When I parked up here close to GZ, I thought I'd be able to search in peace, not so! Several cars came up and went down, I got my fair share of dust of this gritty gravel road! For some reason, I was thinking of another type of cache hide.... so went right past it! I searched most posts in the general vicinity and came back to the first or second one I started with and found the little blighter! I guess there are bisons on them plains apart from the planes!

No planes but I did hear two earlier while I was caching down the road a bit. Just got my timing wrong.
Lovely winters day on the Taieri but boy it was cold. Found by Kerynz after a short rustle around. TFTC!
Had a bit of a hunt for this with Frame Family. Beautiful view on this clear Winter’s morning. Signing the log was a bit tricky. Pen didn’t like the paper. Tftc
A nice quick find. The log must have dried out a bit I was able to sign it ok. TFTC
Soaked log, pen wouldn’t work, stamped the wet log.
Great view with the small planes landing

Great views from up here. Very pleased the logging trucks didn't seem to be operating today though. TFTC # 12,485
Quickly found on a jaunt out on the Taieri. Enjoyed the view before heading off to the next find. TFTC
In Dunedin for the cricket yesterday, i thought i would catch up on few caches that the wife has found on other trips without me. Turns out she hasn't found this one yet. Stinking hot day, just about too hot for caching. Saw a plane fly out.
Great day out caching in the area, lot of neat caches, and interesting spots. Many Thanks Bitsprayer
A quick easy find with a good view of the airport, and the thermometer on 30 degrees. TFTC
Found a good place to park off the road. Little one soon in hand to SL. Main road still a busy one to watch from way up here. TFTC
Noice views of the airport and railway line from here. Heard a couple of planes and trains while up in the hills along this way. Found the little one SL. TFTC
Quick find where all good at GZ. Thanks for another smilie

Ticking off a few caches on the way out to a course in Mosgiel.

Thanks - this is a different view of the airport! A small plane was doing circuits and bumps.
A detour on my way home after dropping my daughter off in Milton. all in good condition.
Wasn't keen to take the newly lowered MX5 on the gravel road so parked up at the bottom. Our son is currently flying with Mainland to finish night flying component of his Commercial Pilot Licence. Drive by cache gave us a bit of exercise on the climb up. TFTC
Shame the current view framed by gorse. Liked the hide. Bringing an extraction tool may be helpful
Having dropped people off at the airport it would of been a pity not to get this one.
Merry Christmas Eve to you.
I'm still pushing on to reach my new years resolution (2000 finds by 11.59pm 31st Dec 2016), this is one of the ones I found today to bring me below the 200 to go mark.
All in good condition.

A quick find today while passing through the area. Spent some time watching a Jetstar plane land so the timing for this find was perfect. TFTC [^]
No view today as it was foggy as. Look longer than it should have .... On a 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b&p.Tftc Hall-way. Find # 3777
Out today to get a few caches around the taieri planes. Views are amazing. Thank you to all for the caches
A quick find with Kiwigeoswami on our day trip round the Taieri. Great view of the planes and plains.
An easy find with fluffyduck38 and whiskasnz on a caching day for Fathers Day. Lovely views from up here today, we even saw a couple of planes taking off. TFTC
This was found really quickly, we spent more time looking down at the airport - it looks tiny from way up here. TFTC
Wee drive out Brighton to get a recently replaced cache and two new ones. Have never been up this road before and the views were amazing. Soon found by K while J & R scrambled around up a bank after their quick exit out of the car thinking they were in the right place! TFTC
Didn't get an alert for this cache when it was published. That's three such events this week (that I'm aware of). Did get an alert for the other new cache further up the road and it was while checking that one out online that I noticed another nearby unfound cache. Gosh, Premium Membership is really worth the money.....yeah, right. I think there was another cache here years ago. TFTC.
(FTF) #75 @2218. Was out getting the other FTF that I knew about but this one I was told about by KJR who could not come out to get them her self. Took a wee bit to find and I was driving past it on my way home. TFTC
