Was looking forward to finding this cache. Unfortunately found wire which looks as if something was hanging here but no cache.
Awesome idea! Tftc! Pen may require replacement looks as though someone has written on it wet
Another great cache along the road, Ashvegas is starting to get some great creative hides. Cheers, although the Vivid needs replacing.
Quick stop heading home from Christchurch. Was a bit worried with the nearby road works but still able to park right by GZ with no problems. Nice easy find away from the busy road and such a cool cache! Have never seen anything like it and such a big log book. TFTC
First impression/glance was a bit WTF but then once I figured out it was one of those display banners I was like wow that's cool... What a great use for it, don't they just get biffed when they're no longer relevant? GLB1721 TFTC (4022)
This was diiferent to what I expected and was looking for, in fact I had just decided it had been removed when I looked around and saw a great size logbook!
Thanks

Good cache here just wasn't quite expecting that type of container . Has given me a few ideas
What a beauty! Found whilst on a trip down to the South Island for an extended weekend. Great cover but such a simple find! Unfortunately I have no favourites available at present.... TFTC
A quick park and grab on the way to Ashburton, though I did take the time to add a short note. I, too, remember when the log books had stories not just names and dates. I have to admit that as life has got busier and nanos have proliferated my logs have got lazy. I do try to make up for it online.
Love the log book here and can confirm it's nice and dry

Love this container!! A favourite from us! Travelling to Lake Ohau today with HRH54 on a caching trip TFTC
Over from Brisbane and heading to Lake Ohau with JUJU54 doing a few caches as we go. Certainly hits the large mark TFTC

Saturday. Slow Puncture has teamed up with Orange Crew to make a Moreton Bay assault on the Oamaru Geofest. Day Two saw us travel from Christchurch to Oamaru. In retrospect, and having discussed it with others, it seems that perhaps we did not sign in exactly the intended place (but clearly, we were not alone!) [xx(]
This was the 4th of 49 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***team_macdonald***, for showing us this place.

Visiting from Brisbane with Slow Puncture for the Oamaru Geofest, and we're seeing all the wonderful sights the South Island has to offer as we travel along. Day 2: After 1 night in Christchurch we rolled on down to Oamaru for the event, finding plenty of caches (and cachers ) along the way.
Thanks for the hunt **team_macdonald**, this find makes #4231. Discover our TB

Heading south to the geofest and stopping at caches with good FP totals. We were not disappointed when we arrived at GZ. What a fantastic idea!!! Thanks and a FP as well.
A well deserved favourite point coming your way for thinking differently and coming up with this fun idea for the logbook. We signed where others had signed until one of us discovered the real location and we then signed there as well. Lucky we spotted that. With other signatures where we first signed it would be easy to mistake the correct location. Thanks team_macdonald for the fun today and adding to our enjoyment of our geocaching and driving day. Cheers!
We didn't know quite what to expect from reading the description of this one other than we wouldn't be looking for a nano in the woods so I got a chuckle when I got to GZ, cast my eyes around and saw this. I work in marketing and while my role these days would seldom have me having to deal with one of these, I certainly recall from days gone by plenty of times that was my job.
Made the quick stroll across to the cache, "retrieved" the log and signed my name using the permanent marker. Certainly makes a nice change from squeezing your name on to a full log in a nano. All done, put back as we found it and walked back to the car. All good here and thanks for the cache - safe to say I haven't seen this as a geocache before!

well I have never come across this type before but loved the idea and gets a fav point from us, thanks for the something different
After a very early start leaving home at 3.30am, an early morning flight from Auckland to Christchurch, arriving at Christchurch we made our way south picking up caches along the way, A very pleasant drive and a fantastic sunny day, thanks for placing the caches for us to find
7634. Found on way to Oamaru gathering. Short log in McCafe. Longer log later. TFTC. Rodney and Iris.
Headed out into the bright evening for a Mad Monday Mission with Team_Gaters and we decided to see what we could find. The plan earlier in the day was to head to Geraldine if the multi wasn't logged. Well, that fell in the weekend and we had an EC to possible score to boot. So the plan was to head south. TG grabbed me a bit earlier and we headed off into the sunset.
After a successful evening in Ashvegas and the river mouth stopped by to do the 'paper' work. Great cache. Fav.
Thanks for the cache team_macdonald.

checked in to check all was well and is good but will be doing some repairs shortly
My youngest son was doing The Woolshed Creek tramp with his friends. I provided the transport.
What a fun idea. A great place for that type of geocache too.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. team_macdonald for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find 4976 for me.

15 July 2017 13:17 Ahoy! Fellow Cachers... I be on me way t' th' pirate party at Lake Hood 'n wanted t' get a cache wit' some favourite points. This fits th' bill nicely. Noticed some Cachers 'ave been signin' on th' cover o' th' logbook rather than th' inside pages but I penned me tale o' high sea adventure thar.
What cool cache!! I was a little worried heading into the trees in the dark, thinking that I may not be able to spot it due to lack of light, but no such issues! Great idea, thanks!!!
Favourite point from me - I've never seen a cache that looked like this before. You've probably got 3 months left with that pen though...
The sun has just risen (I've been caching for about 2 hours now), and now I'm going for a coffee in town! And maybe a pie...
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - Complete the Eclipse series out near Kirwee, and pick up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - of finding at least one cache that was placed every month since geocaching was invented. 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!

Grand Tour of the North and South Island car with Rusty.C. Amazing journey with many beautiful places. Thanks For The Cache and many greetings from Czech Republic.
What a brilliant cache! I feel so lucky to have found this today. I had planned a different route for today which would've by-passed here altogether but we spent a lot longer visiting relatives in Christchurch this morning so didn't get away from there till 12.00 which resulted in coming straight down the main road with no plans. Saw this pop up on the GPS so stopped off. This gave us such a laugh. A few cachers have missed the full experience by signing on the cache itself. Anyway easily the cache of the day by miles. TFTC #9845
maintenance check and all was good. some people have missed the experience by signing the outside of the log itself.
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
Today we decided on a multi-day tour, first stop going from Omarama
Geraldine Fairlie Lake Tekapo, Pukaki lake, on the road we will be forced to slow down because before us are carrying a full house on a truck, and no one can overtake, just where the road allows it we will go ahead, unique experience.
sunny day and the many tourists lakes, very beautiful places.
On the way we will stop looking for some cache
This is the first that we decide to stop intrigued by log, cache beautiful, very original the most beautiful found in NZ so far
Greetings from Italy

I have been planning this trip for a while now as I had some airpoints due to expire and wanted to go somewhere for Wellington Anniversary Weekend. So I've made it a 4 day weekend and come down from Palmerston North for a caching road trip. I have two goals for this weekend, to get two 2500 caches before 23 January as that is when I took up caching last year and to get caches on as many minutes as possible that will hopefully qualify me for a challenge cache in the Manawatu. Day 1 is Christchurch to Oamaru.
What a excellent cache - I could see something through the trees from my parking spot that needed further investigation and indeed it was the cache.
Found two trackables just perching on the branch so grabbed them so they don't get lost.
Giving this a FP for creativity. Tftc

Got some cheap flights a few weeks ago so the plan was to come down for a big run in Ashburton to achieve the 120 in one day and get the gemstone. OMG! We started at the crack of dawn and finished in the dark. Foggy and cool but cleared by lunchtime. It should have been achieved much quicker. We had not really planned a route and detoured a bit. Some of this backfired as we ended up on some long gravel roads that had missing caches and was most disappointing. We got stuck for about an hour on a multi I specially wanted for qualifying for another cache which was frustrating. However, we made it - with a few to spare I believe - but are totally shattered. Too many to log individually so are doing the copy and paste. Many thanks to all who placed caches. What beautiful countryside and we love the fact we could pull over and park safely. Not keen on the many prickly pine trees so many were hidden under. The breeze only got up in the afternoon and it was a lovely warm breeze - not like Manawatu freezing winds even at this time of the year. More traffic on the roads than we expected and they fair motor along. Many thanks for the caches. It has made the whole trip worthwhile.
What a fab cache! The first of this type we have seen. Giving it a favourite.

Quick stop but had to grab the whole family to see. And with that J was sick on the ground at GZ.
I was driving through ashburton today and picked up a couple of caches. This one is different from anything I've ever seen before. Great idea! I picked up the TB.
Ashamed of myself I log this one. If you wonder why I feel ashamed log the cache.
Thanks for the cache team_macdonald

I loved this cache sooo much. This definitely deserves a fav as it brought many smiles to the faces of Busy Paws, Geomum and myself.

Out caching today with Geo Jessie and Busy paws, this one was a quick find. A very neat idea and deserves a fav! TFTC.
What a great idea!! Loved the ingenuity of this, found with Geo jessie and Geo mum on a afternoon out caching in the area. A fav and a big smile on the dial!!
Love this big cache with its giant log. I had lots of big trade goods to leave, but changed my mind at the last minute. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA
Show day, so time for an adventure. Family happy to stay at home, so midmorning I chucked the bike on the wagon and headed to ashburton to bike the lake hood trail. Rain forecast but that's never stopped me (and I came prepared)! Quick stop here, what a cool Cache! Cheers!
When I saw this I thought, "Cool" Really nice to see the names bold as brass. Even took a photo, though I won,t post it here!
Cheers and a fav from me.
Bother the weather. Decided to head to Oamaru after reviewing the forecasts. The best of a bad deal. Had a great couple of days caching too, though slightly wet at times.
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

I want to put a needs maintainence as log is full (jokes) very cool concept. glad we stopped for this one even in the rain. fav point for sure. On our final days of an 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b&p.Tftc team_macdonald. Find # 4045
StreetWalker and I decided to spend Labour Weekend in Geraldine, our first visit there since passing through four years ago on our way back from the Dunedin Mega, and there were heaps of caches placed in the area since then that needed our attention .
After finding the nearby "Born in the USA", we drove along the grass to this cache. The GPSrs took us to one spot where we struggled to find a large container. I then glanced over my shoulder and saw something that needed further investigation. Yup, the cache. Ha-ha, not what I expected! Thanks for an original cache and log book, worth a fav point.

The day had been drizzly and raining all day. Headed out mid afternoon to grab some craft supplies with mixed results. Lucky I did as I remembered I was supposed to be trying to achieve yet another ten day streak, so time to find a handy cache to get my find for the day. I remembered this one had a large logbook which would be a nice change to all the nanos I found last night in Christchurch.
We worked our way into the general area and made a quick find. Nice to see something different, long may it last.
Thanks for the cache, a favourite from me.

Out with Mum trying to find some items for my halloween costume with not much luck. This was a quick find before heading home. I haven't seen a cache like this before, the vivid was very handy.
Thanks for the logbook with a big difference.

Definitely the largest cache logbook I have ever encountered! A quick find on the way south this afternoon - signed log, TFTC
Very cool cache TFTC with heyhaynz. Left a TB clipped to the cache. Hope someone picks it up soon.
