I love finding archived caches. As 1.1 has survived the floods I decided to carry on to see if this one was still in place as well. Took quite a bit of digging through the mud but before long I hit a rock and underneath the cache still in great condition. Yeah! TFTC # 17,682
I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from nor action by the cache owner within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Too many sharp needles... Really do not suggest to search for this one.

Cache is all good. Plenty of log paper. Could CO please enable again? Thanks! #3831
It took a while to find this cache, as our GPS had us on the wrong side of the trail. Once we ignored that and headed for the most logical hint object, it was soon found. We removed the old sodden log and replaced it with a small waterproof sheet. TFTC
Living just out of town now so will hopefully get a chance this week between the weather and get the trail fixed up
Not an ideal day to be out there, wet as, but I needed to get out and at least there were not many people around! I decided to tackle the trail in the reverse direction, from lake Hood, and then walk back. The caches could use some TLC. Some were not signeable, and in a sad state. Nice walk though! TFTC!!
From saved offline logs tiding up my account, - On a ok day off this Thursday it was time for a stooge around this lake copy and pasted post sorry. All good and dry here...two fantail muggles ha ha flitting around ..happy as thanks for the cache team
Nice hot day for a wee walk to grab some of the caches on the track, not enough time for them all. Thanks Bitsprayer
Almost at the end of the Lake Hood Trail,we'd better find the last one..TFTH
On Xmas holiday in the new caravan and here in ashburton for 3 nights before heading further south.
A quiet Xmas morning breakfast - made a couple of calls to family...and then it was time to head out on the bike again to attack the rest of this trail.
Love the quietness today.... I had looked at this disabled one and asked a fellow catcher for a piece of his RIR paper to bring here. I have left the sodden log book inside the cache but now there is a new place to sign.

Between Oamaru and Rakaia we had four major stops to find caches. The first stop was at the picknick area by Pukeuri, where we found two caches with some historical aspects, then we stopped at the Glenavy Reserve walkway at Waitaki river bridge.
We moved on to Timaru and did some caches from the Saltwater creek walkway where we met Canadian geocachers and had a nice chat and our last geocaching stop was at Ashbury for a part of the Lake Hood trail.
On our hike along the Lake Hood trail, up to number 12, we found 10 out of 12 caches. The two we could not find seemed to be vanished?
The cache was very wet.

Out on the bikes for an evening ride with Busy paws and Geo Jessie. Quick find, log very wet. TFTC!
No probs finding this one but it's soaking. We put a piece of paper in just so we could sign. Found with Geomum007 and Geo jessie. TFTC
by the time i got to this GZ, i was getting a bit tired its a long hike. a good 5 mins looking at GZ but i suppose if i had read the hint properly then i would have fond it quicker. the log is a bit damp, i left it out to dry while i went to the rest of the trail, but on the way back it seemed to be just as damp. another smiley gained though. Cheers
By this point, I wanted some food, and my GSP had been a bit out all day. Since the log before said his GPS was out by 12M, I decided that I would just walk on!
stopped off on the dive back to Nelson to do this trail and stretch the legs logs rather wet
Found ... we were down visiting family at Lake Hood for 7 or 8 days ... like most days we decided to go for a walk ... since our last visit, we noticed that there were a few new caches from Tinwald, along the river trail, down to Lake Hood ... we got dropped off by the bridge, at the start of the trail & give a few of them a go ... this was the 3rd of 31 for the day ... an easy find, log completed, with difficulty as it was very wet & cache returned ... TN:LN:SL ... TFTC ... #1,567 for us.
Spent ages looking earlier before giving up. Thought I'd have another crack on the way back, this time the gps took me to the opposite side of the track for an immediate find. TFTC and trail team_macdonald, I've enjoyed the ride but I've gone far enough, starting to feel it now #6696
After a bit of dithering this morning, we decided to head south to the Mary Hyde pirate event at Lake Hood, and take the opportunity to find some other caches as well. After a week of grey dismal weather, it was great to see the sun again, but in the shade, temperatures were still on the chilly side
We had failed to find this cache on the walk in, and conscious of the time ticking by, decided to have another look on the return journey. With the help of the logs, and with both the GPSrs pointing in a slightly different location, the cache was quickly found in a spot neither of us had searched first time round. Phew! Thanks for the walk, team_macdonald and TFTC.

#14345. After giving up on this one on the outward trip, we made a quick find when heading back to the car. GPSr seemed to struggle here (no great surprise given that many cachers find this one tricky to locate). TFTC.
I had the day to myself and decided to pack up the bike and head south. The plan was to head down the river to Lake Hood and grab a few caches along the way. Had a great time. The day started off lovely with clear skies. The mercury was below zero for part of the drive. The day turned into a good cold Canterbury winters day. A bit hazy with overcast and cold. I scored heaps of cuts on the bare legs from the blackberries and snapped a few good photos. Biked about 24km in the end after doing the track and going around the lake. Good fun. The Lake Hood Trail series was great fun, good placements in nice obvious stops.
Thanks for the cache team_macdonald.

We had a bit of trouble with this one. We couldn't find it on the first attempt so gave up. I read some logs as we continued our walk which hinted that we may have been looking on the wrong side of the track. So we had another look on the way back but it still took a long time to find! This is our last of the day. Thanks very much to team_macdonald for the series on this nice track!
Knock knock on the door hmmmm nobody home oh well let the dog loose and off we go of course dog hated being dragged along but tuff I need someone to walk with .... log book saturated so took photo as proof tftc team_macdonald
I don't recall this one requiring much of a hunt as some earlier finders indicated. Log was wet.
A bit late logging. Found with Mporokosa after broadening our search to well over 10 m from ground zero. TFTC
We didn't have an easy time with this one. Choco was searching, I was searching, Truffles was sniffing around even. OK, on to the next one. Maybe we'll search again when we come back. We did search again and again we couldn't find it. Just as we were walking away, we looked somewhere we didn't think it could possibly be and found it. A good 43 feet away from GZ.
The Seagnoid, Zara & I are off to Ashburton to pick up Toby. His nose job and body work are now complete so time to bring him home with extra time to explore Banks Peninsular again. Parked Zara up in town and Toby is parked up at Lake hood and we off walking the Lake Hood Trail.
Hey nearly there with #2 snagged. Cheers

Going to Ashburton with TaybeeDragon to pick up a car and spent the long weekend exploring, one box at a time.
After a morning in the sunshine we decided to go for a walk in the shade. This was a very pleasant path with lots of interesting caches. Didn't make it as far as Lake Hood but a good walk nevertheless. Thanks for the caches along here and a good variety of hides. This one was an easier find.
Down from the Manawatu we had a very late start after going for the 120+ in a day yesterday. Had a rental car which was most uncomfortable for a long day so a walk seemed like a great idea. Parked the car and off we went. Had visions of getting to the Lake Hood Café for lunch (open 11am to 3.30pm) and walk back. Dah! Must have been delirious after yesterday. The track went on and on and on. Many caches amongst blackberry bushes. Didn't find them all. Only got to Café at 4.40pm. Didn't take any water so were tired and thirsty. Missed lunch but was in time for a very early dinner and a cold beer. After that we had to get a taxi back to the car ($30!!!!). (Fancy hiring a rental car and leaving it parked up half the day!). Heading back towards Christchurch for one more day of caching before heading home Saturday morning.
This had a spend a load of time looking. The gps had us on the wrong side of the track. If you are fighting blackberry bushes you are on the wrong side of the track. Our gps had us 12 metres away. TFTC

In Ashburton for the weekend had some spare time so off for a walk and a cache or two TFTC
Last one heading towards the bridge. Quick find. Will grab the last of the multi way points and then head back to boundary road.
Nice easy walk on a great day out on a trail that could by AKA The Blackberry Trail. Lots of muggles about avoiding the Xmas shopping. Thanks for all the work that has gone into creating the hides on this trail. Signed log SS/Aslan* for Stormshadow and Aslan
Second stop on today's 35km cyclocache ride along the Lake Hood Cycle Trail, around Lke Hood and then back to our north Ashburton caravan base. Ouch, there are prickles here. Drew blood. Hope I don't lose it all before I finish my ride.[B)] TFTC anyway.
Came for an afternoon bike ride along the river trail to Lake Hood, then around the lake and back to Ashburton via the road. Another quick find here. Signed log, TFTC
I decided to do this powertrail after I saw it on the map. I parked my car and realised that I hadn’t the caches on my phone which means I had to log into the free WIFI of McDonalds. Prepared I started my way. At the second cache I hide behind the tree because a family came along. The man saw me and talked to me afterwards if I am a geocacher, because he caught last week another geocaching couple. I enjoyed the 12 kilometres and especially because it was flat. All caches except one were found. The last cache I looked for was in the middle and I met also another nice geocaching family from the UK but they also couldn’t find it. I got additionally wet feet which was a sign that I had to go back to my car. It was a lovely day and all containers except the eclipse one were in very good condition.
Show day, so time for an adventure. Family happy to stay at home, so midmorning I chucked the bike on the wagon and headed to ashburton to bike the lake hood trail. Rain forecast but that's never stopped me (and I came prepared)! Nice spot. Cheers.
A lovely walk along the Lake Hood trail. We are visiting our daughter and two little grandsons in Ashburton. Like others before us, we searched through brambles and then decided to look the other side without brambles and found the cache. Signed the log. TFTC
On the way home from Timaru and needed to stretch the legs and this was a perfect way to do so. Thanks for placing all these caches down here, we really enjoyed the walk, such a beautiful day.
Out for an overnight trip with Bbear44. It was a beautiful afternoon to stroll by the river. Finding your 13 caches was an added bonus. Thanks for the power trail. I love walks like this.
In Ashburton with Nosynel for the night and it such a lovely day what better way to spend it than caching along a lovely walk. Thanks for the trail.
Our first today for the rest of this trail. The only one to be slightly out on distances. Should've trusted our intuition!! Thanks.
On my bike now, and Ms KR went off to the Art Gallery. A nice and quick find, cheers.
Time to do a raid on the AshVegas area. Its been a while......
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

When I spotted the blackberry I was glad I had already made my find for the day. Not that the cache ended up being anywhere near the prickles.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
Nice walk among the trees. By the time we got back to here I was hungry so pleased it didn't take long to find. Thanks for the hide.
The GPSr was originally pointing to a tree surrounded by blackberry and as it was between me and Mr KN as to who would find it I volunteered. Then as I didn't really want to get scratched I decided to get the GPSr back from MCB and low and behold the correct search area had no blackberry.
Quick easy find, thanks for the cache.
Quick easy find, thanks for the cache.
Left our usual red stuff on the blackberries before we decided to look a bit further afield away from the prickles. TFTC
Yippee ftf . Now that I have no more dot days I'm back in the ftf hunt so a good start to the month . Should have trusted my gut on this one instead of the phone would have saved the battle of the brambles dropped of a Tb
