After a lovely stay in Jindabyne, we are on the way to Merimbula. Its a beautiful sunny crisp morning. This Church is high up in the heavens. Thanks Boeing737 for creating this cache.
GAP YEAR BIG LAP - PART 2: THE ROAD TRIP - Day 31 On our way between Cobargo & our Kosciuszko NP campsite for the night, we passed through Dalgety & spied this pretty church. A very interesting street library was also an attraction just before this church. Not sure if it had a view to the sea as it was overcast but it certainly sits high above the surrounding valley.Quick find in the fence as predicted & interested to see a logbook advertising the Great Leap Forward event in SA but sadly we won't be around that far by then. Too much to see in between!#3924 @ 1150hTFTC Boeing737
1059 for the tribeWow! Second time to church this Sunday as the tribe explored Dalgety after visiting Belokas finest earlier today. The skies were stormy looking but held no precipitation while the snow could be seen on the distant mountain tops as the tribe made the find and added a new word to our vocab. "Castellated" was not a word we had used before but we will endeavour to use it in a sentence one day.The original logbook is soggy but the replacement is in great condition. Another amazing spot. Thanks for placing and maintaining.
Homebound after spending a week fishing in the high country, then down along the Sapphire coast. I decided to go home via Jindabyne this time as I've never been that way. A nice old church, my first time in Dalgety, a quiet little town.TFTC!

Staying at Jindabyne for the Kosciuszko Expedition events and picking up a few local caches as well. We spoke with the lady at coffee caravan and she mentioned the church is privately owned. Also check out the coffee van.

Spending a leisurely day around Jindabyne and district.
After an early morning paddle to the island and then doing the touristy thing, checking out the local shops, information centre and walking around the town for a gander. I spent the arvo driving around picking up the odd cache.
A quick find after having a look around the church.

29,939. Found with minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, albida33, TikvaNZ and sebass19 and a lot of other cachers today.
Day 3 of the Kosciuszko Expedition, and after a huge day for many people yesterday it was a quieter event this morning. Coffee helped. After brekkie we started to head home, but there were still plenty of caches around Dalgety and Berridale to get. Lovely drive through the countryside out to this historic area. Quick find once at GZ, making up for some time spent at a previous DNF. Signed the log, put in a new one for future use, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our way.
Thanks Boeing737 !! Great to be able to find caches out this way.

After the early morning event, fitzy_1965 & I set off home via a cache or two......
Ok, we teamed up with a few other cachers who were doing the same thing.
I also managed to hit my target of 300 Tankengine finds!
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Found on the way home from Jindabyne with Joolay, albida33, fitzy, TikvaNZ, minniek and sebas. Log book was damp but managed to write our names in. Fitzy put in a new little log book in a baggy to keep cache going. Another sweet church in this lovely little town. Thanks for the hide Boeing737
Out after brekkie today to finish off some more caches and doing a loop around with ilook4geo and Geologic2. This was a quick find and signing duties were soon done. Loved this beautiful church. Thank you to Boeing737 for placing this cache.
Went out on a run with goingplaces2 and Geologic2 and had a mostly successful day. This was one of our successes and log was signed as required. TFTC.

I'm in Jindabyne with a group of geocachers for the GCNSW events. Today was a round trip from Jindabyne to Dalgety then to Berridale and back to Jindabyne, gathering caches along the way.
Quick park, grab, sign, return. The church is a long way from the sea.
Thanks for the geo-fun. ??

Back down one hill and up the next, and once again Rama497 made the find. This is our second beautiful church for the day so we of course took a moment to admire and photograph it. Watch out for the pine cones here, they're big enough to do you some damage.
ETA: if like me you were wondering, 'Star of The Sea' is a name used in Catholicism to refer to the Virgin Mary, as a 'guiding light' to Christians.

Ocw the Bebes. After unhitching the caravan at our nearby hipcamp we headed back into Dalgety to clear out the caches here. Lovely little church and easy find. Tftc

Visiting the area on our Christmas road trip. I found Star of the sea today.
I wasn’t expecting it to be where it was. Was barking up the wrong tree.
Was very bemused by the fence across the road made out of skis.
Many thanks Boeing737 for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.
The log book is wet but can be signed.

A nice quick and easy fine. The logbook is completely saturated and covered in mould. It requires urgent attention to replace it
Another spectacular view of the valley at this cache location. The log was a bit damp but easily signable. Thanks for the cache in this very pretty little town.
Another beautiful old country church well highlighted by this cache. Thanks, Boeing737, and a favourite from me.
A quick grab in the rain while in the area. The log is a bit damp, but not too bad. I tried my best not to let it get worse from the rain.
The sun was setting spectacularly behind the church as we found this cache. Beautiful.
Nice walk up the hill to a hidden and well maintained gem. Thanks for bringing us here.
On the way home, great to have a cache to mark the way. Quite impressed with the nearby ski fence. Tftc
My daughter at I spent the day at the dalgety show and decided to do this on after a lovely afternoon tea at Iona gardens cafe. Beautiful day .

We treated ourselves to a night away in Jindabyne to celebrate our wedding anniversary - this also coincided with us completing the Jindabyne Park Run around the lake foreshore.
We took the long way home to check out Dalgety, a place we had never heard of until recently discovering that it was on the list of towns to become the nations Capital.
What a top spot with fantastic views of the area.

Having to do a delivery to New South Wales we thought that we would take the opportunity to take a more scenic route and grab a few caches along the way.
Not having a lot of time we were trying to concentrate on ones that were close to the road and this one fitted the bill.
Well this church would have to have one of the best views in Australia and is an excellent looking old building as well. It seems to be standing up very well to the test of time. Unfortunately the sun was in the exact wrong spot for a kodak moment so we had to satisfy ourselves with the views and a smile. The cache was right where the GPSr was pointing, a nice easy find and the log book now contains our name.
Thanks Boeing737 for the cache.

Another beautiful church thanks Boeing737. I love the stonework in the two churches that you took me to today. SL
What a fabulous day today. Blue skies, sun, beautiful green rolling hills and successful caching experiences. It was so good to be able to set my own timetable and not worry about holding other people up. I love the social aspect of town caching but the solitude of rural caching is so calming.
Today’s trip from Canberra to Jindabyne, Bombala, Cooma and home again involved 18 caches – 8 GCAs and 10 GCs as well as covering two new dragon zones. Many thanks to all the COs, especially DSD who helped me out to ensure I didn’t have to record any DNFs, for placing and maintaining these caches adding to my enjoyable caching experience.

Visiting Dalgety, with a group of cycling friends, I managed to do a quick side trip to make the find here. I was impressed by the unusual architecture of the old church. Thanks for bringing me here.
There's a little country town that I like and it's called Corryong [^]
OK so it may have something to do with an A. B. Patterson poem too and also books about a Silver Brumby [^]
So when an unexpected opportunity of time off work for medical reasons [|)][xx(] and a possible FTF at Corryong occur simultaneously.... it's road trip time!! [^]
Four days, over 1,500km and the chance to turn a previous DNF in Orbost into a smiley while also finding the last lonely unfound cache in a series in Crinigan Reserve near Morwell [^] and overall 34 cache finds including the long forgotten map 23 area [^] which I'd missed on my last trip to the NE corner of Victoria
We camped and drove, walked and wandered in rain then sunshine and saw snow on the mountains in NSW in summer [?] We saw gum trees as high as the sky , searched in rainforests and passed through amazing countryside
A huge trip and an all night drive to get home so that I could attend the movie 'Happy Sad Man' in Shepparton on the 5th December. A good movie about men's mental health and worth seeing if you get the chance [^][^]
Lovely old church and Rex enjoyed following the local roos to the other fence line while I found the cache and of course I'd parked on the wrong side of the pertinent fence line

Quick find. Excellent location for a church. I’m visiting from Perth. Thanks for the cache.
Heading north-east with PacGirl on a Easter roadtrip, we had no real target other than walking up Mt Kosciusko on the way to wherever we were going. Or wherever we would end up, which turned out to be the eastern coast of NSW. I love these unplanned roadtrips where there isn't much of an agenda!
We were up early this morning aiming to 'summit' Kozi by this afternoon.
A quick stop here and an easy find in this very very quiet town. A lot quieter than the track from Charlotte's Pass we were to get onto!
Thanks, Boeing737.

Today I made my way from near Orbost to Thredbo, picking up a few selected caches along the way. The main objective today was to find caches in each of the LGA’s and the road atlas map pages that I was near.
Another quick find along the way. That’s an impressive looking church for its location!
Thanks Boeing737 for the cache.

Found on a morning walk while staying at the caravan park It’s amazing how much money they put into churches in the old days.
Built in 1878, so that makes it 140 years old and by the look of it still maintained and in occasional use.

Out for a drive. From Bombala Headed for Dalgety via Snowy River Way. A bite to eat and off to find cache. We were lucky to arrive at GZ as a flock of Yellow Tail Black Cockatoos were feeding off the pine cones. We waited for them to move away from GZ before grabbing the cache. Great views of the surrounding area. Thanks for the cache.
Had a coffee at the cafe and then did this cache.
Great location.
We got the walking history trail map and checked out all the green metal sign posts of info around town by car after the cache.
Many thanks to Boeing 737.

### Easter trip 2018 ###
----------
We've planed a trip to Jindabyne this year.
To get there, we took the inland route via Canberra where we've stayed for one night. We've then continued on to Jindabyne and have stopped at many interesting locations on the way there.
We've walkes up to the summit of
Mt Kosciusko on Easter Saturday. We've taken the main range walk up to the summit of 26km total distance. Great challenging hike past the blue lake and many other little mountain lakes.
The view up there was magnificent.
Back in Jindabyne, we've walked around the lake and have visited the sculptures near the lake.
We took the coastal route for the way home back to Sydney staying in Batemans Bay for the night.
We've stopped at many interesting locations and have visited some caches along the way as well
Thank you to all the owners for showing us the places

It never ceases to amaze me that the most elaborate and expensive building in many country towns is the church, while it's probably one of the least used buildings in the town.
