We stopped in the cookie bar and talk to the nice ladies inside. They told us that somebody stole the cash yesterday. Then they took us out to show us where it was and, yes, it was gone.
One of the staff confirmed that the cache was taken. I got a chocolate chunk cookie while I was there - delicious!
Very very clever, took a while but came up with he goods, didn’t have to ask for help, but did grab a cookie milkshake, TFTC
Found after a chat with shop staff. As they suggested, Starbucks is probably a more accurate spot. Clever hide. Tftc
spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my ?? The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find. With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signedWe puzzled a lot in advance and the tours ?? were well prepared So this box was also well found.now I have another on my personal cache card.many thanks to [^] **KiwiAoraki** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany ???? TFTF**Geistercacher**#34209
We got lucky here and also the shop staff helped a bit too. Thanks for the difficult, clever find!
First MZ cache, and a difficult one at that! Was stumped, but followed the clues and chatted with the cookie ladies, who, despite knowing the tools to offer, had no idea where it was after some further burning Geogooose made the find nearby. Thanks for the hide!
Thanks to some comments we’re able to find this one. Our phones showed us everywhere else. Beautiful helpers in the shop. Also a favourite point from us. TFTC
It wasn’t an easy find but with the help of all the previous comments and the unscrew screw we finally found it.
Thanks for that!
Thanks for that!
Sneakiest cache ever found by my partner nate79_nz I should have widened my search … thanks
Awesome hide. Had to spend a few minutes thinking & reading comments to piece it together. No pen to sign it but container photo as proof.
Three visits. So confused. But so happy I found it the day before I leave qt. Thanks!
Hello,
that was funny and because I read the pre-finder logs it was clear what to do. So there are not only delicious cookies
opening was no problem. great hideaway in the city, the other people don’t bother me

Borrowed shop assistants screwdriver. Very busy place but nobody seemed to notice us signing the cache. Tftc

That was a challenge and we required help from the shop staff to access. I felt pretty bad disturbing them but there is no way we could have done it without their help. Tftc
Had help from one of the staff and was provided with a screwdriver. However the screwdriver they had was a bit too big for the second screw and I was not able to open it. Need to bring a small flat head screwdriver. I will need to come back another time!
Found with help of lady inside and screw driver. Very hard to open. Good luck. Great cookies
A cunning hide found surprisingly quickly in the early evening, with the help of a friendly local worker
TFTC - Favourite Point awarded.

Found!! Tassie venturers pulling through. So many muggles, we pretended we were tradies… TFTC!
Quick find early on a Sunday with no muggles but a lovely cookie time lady who lent us the TOTT even though the shop was closed!
TFTC! After 3 unsuccesful attempts to line up we headed there early to beat the lines! Arriving an hour before opening the muggle level was a lot lower, lovely lady inside helped us with the TOTT and cache was quickly found
Found it with the help of all the ladies at the shop. Lovely people. Very difficult cache
Great hide! Insanely difficult. Ladies at the shop behind us were eyeballing us the whole time. Tftc! Awesome last cache in NZ
I visited the nearby bookshop without any success so decided to venture towards this cache. A look around my cover-story location didn't yield much so I followed the compass directly to zero and something only the tiniest bit unusual caught my eye. Muggles everywhere so I retreated and returned after dinner with Daddy Long Legs and the Spiderlings in tow to provide cover and the cookie shop queue was out the door. We joined it, waited ages, were kindly given a tool (the staff were delights and were ready to offer unneeded assistance) and assumed positions to wait for the crowd to clear. Cache eventually snatched, signed and replaced with another favourite point. Tftc!
Brought the screwdriver all the way from Bath, England, but in the end, with a very helpful Time for Cookies owner, I was provided with a different, colourful screwdriver and given a big hint.
The place was packed with muggles but I think they ignored the weirdo unscrewing something close by.
A great idea for a cache and many thanks for keeping this one going.
Will now go back before a LotR tour and by some cookies for the journey. (You should get 10% of all profits for this one!)

My first geocache in New Zealand!
Noting the difficulty before arrival, i had a good read of past logs and had a fair idea of what might be required.
Had several long looks and extended loitering around gz on the twenty fourth, but pulled the pin before any dismantling could occur simply due to the mass of muggles always present at most times of the day (2am ish might be the best time to search unhindered here)
The cookie comments and cache title had me puzzled as gz was, well.. yeah.
In the end, i bit the bullet and tentatively inquired inside. Big grins and a tott was passed over. Aahuh.
I was so close, yet a world away.
As close as i was to my guess and appropriate tott, i honestly would never have found this without the friendly help of a working muggle.
Thanks kiwiAoraki for such a ballsy not-quite-in-plain-sight cache in such muggley location it almost rivals trafalgar square in terms of nervousness.
Mebe i should start to include a hi vis in my tott kit.

Found while on holiday from the USA. I also asked for help from the cookie store staff.
Found during a tour of New Zealand. It was difficult. It's a pity that our experiences cannot be written in the log, It would be a great help. Thanks for the cash.
Luckily one of the girls in the shop knew where it was and handed me the right tool to retrieve it, the others there didn’t know about it and they all came out to look at it so they know now.
Would never have known where to look for it without help that’s for sure.
Still don’t have a clue what the hints refer to at all

Fantastic!! Never would have found it without help from the cookie ladies. Great hot chocolate too. TFTC
In Queenstown for a wedding this Labour Weekend. Unfortunately with muggle hubby who hates geocaching. I did manage to sneak away to do this must-have cache.
I’d read previous logs so had an idea what to do. It was still pretty tricky and I didn’t quite believe I was doing the right thing when I found a likely spot and got to work. But there it was!
Thanks for a great cache FP from me.

Found it but it was not easy. We had to ask the staff to point us in the right direction. She also supplied the TOTT! Good thing we wanted to buy cookies anyway. TFTC and greetings from Singapore.
COOLEST GEOCACHE EVER!!! Had to ask the staff for a point in the right direction and TOTT but was so fun and I could have never found it by myself. TFTC!
Came back a few times and just can’t work this one out! Will try next time we r in the country
Seconds after placing DNF have worked out where it is but don’t have the tool!
#2127. Day 8 of our wedding anniversary trip to Queenstown with GB Leader!
Having spent a week here, and looked briefly last Sunday at this well-favourited cache, I flagged it away as too muggle bound, and anyway, I understood the cache had been compromised.
So, last day in Queenstown today, last chance for this. I wandered along, pretty much decided where I needed to be, but without a TOTT, it wasn’t going to happen. But, knowing that such a device was available in the Cookietime shop, I wandered in and asked for help. The lovely Lisa gave me a TOTT, & came out with me to the street, nodding in a certain direction. My first attempt was a fail, but second time lucky. Some passing muggles (bar one, who turned out to be an Aussie geocacher) took no notice.
So, yippee, we are first to sign new log. Thanks to Lisa for a TOTT. We bought some cookies, in thankfulness. And thanks KiwiAoraki for a great hide. FP for sure.

All fixed up and ready to go. Please replace ALL parts exactly as found, and if you're having any difficulty, please contact me straight away. Happy caching!
After having not been in Queenstown for nearly a year, I checked the cache the other day and it was fine, but I went by again this evening and the main part was gone. The container and lid were on the ground but the logbook and any swaps were gone. I'll have to fix it within the next few days.
Wow was that a hard one!
Had to come back twice to have a look and just when I was going to give up I FOUND IT!
Well done

Found with the assistance of the wonderful staff of the Cookie Bar. Very clever hide. Travel bug (MKDWA4) on the move to Australia.
In NZ on holiday from Australia.
Found on our last morning here before flying home.
Awesome hiding spot, had us puzzled all week!
Definitely deserves a favourite!
Jess_Harley left a nice for the next lucky cacher.

So glad we finally managed to claim this one! I love when a CO really thinks about the hide. We first had a go at this one on Saturday and had a look a few more times during the week but were always put off by the number of muggles around. Finally today we sat down and read through some previous logs for some help. With the new info in mind I headed out and had another good look at GZ. Finally!!! I found the location but with a lot of muggles and no TOTT I decided to wait until later to claim the find.
On the way to dinner we headed down, with tools in hand and had the cache within a minute. Definitely worth a FP. TFTC.

What a very clever cache placement. We stood in the area twice looking before we thought we had found it. Something didn't look quite right (not quite the same colour).
Waited till later in the night with muggles few and far between so we could retrieve. OMG! We were right. Retrieved, signed and returned. Purchased a couple of cookies ( might have to go back for another few to sample the range )while we were in the area.
Great cache placement. Enjoyable cache. Thank you.

Wow, how could anyone find this on their own? We needed a help from the lady at the cookie shop. Stunning hide
Finally I've wrangled some time off work so it's off to Queenstown for a little rest & relaxation... and Geocaching! We were down here for 7 days and even managed to join forces with DavidsonClan on a couple of days. I didn't have a huge hit list - it was mainly just some of the PMGT's I was after - but I made time for many others as well
This one was probably the most difficult on our trip. We finally settled on where it 'must' be hidden but we didn't have the right tool. Upon returning there were way too many muggles around so at 6:00am the next day I was able to successfully raid the cache.
Cheers KiwiAoraki & TFTC +1FP

Amazing cache. Thanks to the lend of the tool from lovely lady in the shop nearby. Still had to use a manual tool. Tool wasn't exactly right. Glad to get this. Tftc
Congrats to all who have found this one. As I'm not in Queenstown at the moment, I appreciate everyone replacing this one properly.
However, please DO NOT post photos of where the cache is or how it is retrieved, as it spoils the challenge for other cachers. Logs containing photos as such will be deleted without warning.
Happy caching!

I have a lot to thank to Keylev as she hinted heavily I should do this. I always carry this TOTT with me during a big hike so just as well. She still stood back and made me work for it. Thanks for previous photos, I quickly found it. Had to be thick skin about it, though! TFTC
We first tried looking for this cache just a few weeks after it was published in August 2016. We weren’t very experienced at the time and had no luck, not even an idea of where the cache might be.
We have had it on watch ever since and have been back to Queenstown a few times over the years but each time it was very busy so we couldn’t search properly and we always left empty handed.
Reading the logs over the years gradually gave us a good understanding of the type of hide we were looking for and we have been very keen to come back and give it another more focused try.
The PWGT Geotour brought us back to the area this week and we made sure this cache was at the top of our must do list.
We were heading off on a day trip this morning and stopped off at GZ first.
After parking nearby we walked towards the cookies and saw the shop was closed and the streets deserted, perfect conditions. There were a couple of taxi drivers parked nearby but it seems that is always the case so pretty much unavoidable.
We surveyed the area and at first couldn’t see where the hiding spot might be but then noticed an area of interest which we investigated further.
Although not certain we were correct it seemed very likely so with the aid of a tool we began to do what was needed to confirm our suspicions.
The moment of truth had finally arrived and we crossed our fingers as we checked for the cache. Our trepidation was immediately replaced with elation as the elusive container finally revealed itself to us. What a relief.
One of the cookie time staff arrived as we were signing the log but paid us no attention, no doubt they are used to seeing geocachers loitering here in the early hours of the morning.
Once the log was signed we returned the cache to its hiding spot and replaced everything the way we found it.
We departed invigorated with a mix of relief and jubilation. Our five year mission had finally been successful.
Thanks so much KiwiAoraki for this epic cache. It goes without saying that a favourite point has been awarded.

Wow this is one hell of a hide - kudos to you KiwiAoraki. I really really wanted to find this while here this time. I had a look when I was here three and a half years ago but couldn't see anywhere a small cache could be hidden. I was part of a conversation at an event in Dunedin where this was discussed but now I think I was given some false information because it definitely did not align with where the cache is or how it is hidden - cheers! I was looking for a park to go to the supermarket when I realised there was no one round - unlike the weekend or last night when there were people everywhere so once I found a park I headed here. I had already sussed what was needed earlier and thought I had that tool but no so I asked at the shop and they couldn't find one either but I thought what they did have would suffice - and so it did. This is an absolutely brilliant hide and is right up there as an all-time favourite. TFTC hardly seems sufficient. # 17,991
Found at 6.13am after long trip on Double + Single Cone. Well prepared due to my work (roofing + cladding) I was able to manage finding after more than 5 visits of this place. Definitely worth of early waking up .
The best was gentle look of older taxi driver after my action - it said "I know what you have been doing last 5 minutes and why". He will remind me this cache forever as well.
FP is necessary!

That was different. Thankful I had the trusty tool with me and really just went ahead and got it. Very nicely done.
Should be 1. cache today on the way home after picking up a car and meeting with a friend Bára, but dnf.
We checked together all spots and then I even asked the girl working there but unfortunately she had no idea about it so was not able to help us.
Walked around so many times and still dnf .

Finally!! I have been past this one numerous times over many years. After my last visit in May this year I worked it out but by then I was back home. Back in QT for the night and armed with the necessary tool and three family members and a couple umbrellas (it was a very wet night and they provided some extra cover from
muggles) I managed to crack it!! Somewhat relieved to have this one in the bag!! Thanks (I think) for this sneaky hide.

Found and logged at last! Like the last finder this was my third visit from Nelson over a period of six years and only found today with a nudge from another Nelson cacher. Despite the area being relatively quiet it was impossible to be discreet retrieving the cache so it was just a case of going for it. I do wonder if the taxi drivers aren't aware of the hide as they must see the activity. So it's a final log and farewell with heavy heart to this clever cache which must be given a Favourite. TFTC KiwiAoraki.
A great hide here! I first came looking 5 years ago when I was last in Queenstown and didn't know what I was looking for. Yesterday we stopped by and soon saw where we needed to be but we're missing the required tool. Came back today to make a quick find and put everything back as we found it. A great cache and adventure!
I got here early well before opening time, and came prepared with a variety of tools. I spotted where the cache probably was but a taxi driver at the stand kept haranguing me that nothing opened until 10, so I wandered off to the 4 square (which was open) to get a few things. when I got back he had thankfully gone and I was able to do the required business. A hide so cunning you could "pin a tail on it and call it a weasel". Cheers and TFTC
this was a third visit to locate this cache and this time i was armed with other cachers ideas but it still eluded me and i eventually asked for assistance in the shop. Not exactly at or in front of the the cookie time shop but it is extremely well constructed and well worth a fav point from me . so this was one that i changed from blue to the smiley!
Another winter trip down to ski fields around Queenstown , Wanaka etc . and of course locating some of the newer caches or caches that had not been found on previous visits and so when the weather is not conducive to going up the mountains sight seeing was the next choice of action along with locating some of these caches . I am pleased to be able to change 3 blue faces to smiley ones this tour down here but it was disappointing that several of the Frankton to Queenstown cycle trail caches have been disabled and so the final of these is not found as yet .

We have been in the area for a week and today its time to head home but we had a couple of hours to kill before our flight. After taking a drive up the Remarkables we still had a bit of time. We had visited this spot yesterday but came up short of a tool to assist where we suspected it to be. The lovely ladies were great at shakes and cookies but had no idea what I was on about when asking if they had a tool so we left empty handed of the cache. Unfortunately Philip was not on duty today.
Returned today and asked in a few places but no where could assist us...hmm what to do. Then I remembered that my wallet is made of metal and might be able to help. I used the corner and sure enough things started moving as hoped...woohoo I really hope we have this right! A few more turns and then the second and what do you know we found it - wow.
Log was quickly signed and everything put back as found. Yes the corner of the wallet is slightly damaged but I'll just remember this cache every time I look at it as it was worth it.
Thanks for the cache and the fun that put us slightly out of our comfort zone but like others have said no one even looked twice at us as we just covered what we were doing.

Today i finally got there at a time that wasn't too busy and made sure to ask for the tool. Knowing the identity clarified a lot for me and i made the find quickly if not overly discretely. Amazing hide and lovely cheap coffee, tftc!
Too many people here a long line of people waiting to get in. Made a slight detor to get back to car after being at Luma displace in the gardens. As it is a 24/7 cache has to be outside. So had a quick scout and look and think. Will have to come back with money to purchase a cookie or two or something when the crowd is a lot less.
Fantastic! Luckily the cookie shop was open and the shop assistants quickly gave me the tools I needed to access this inventive cache. One person said they hadn’t actually looked for the cache but was intrigued by the steady flow of cachers asking for assistance. Extremely well done. TFTC
I looked around in a few places, but had no luck. I asked a few of the ladies in the cookie shop, and they directed me to the right area. I went back to ask for the tool, but they didn't have it. I also went into the shop where the cache is located. They gave me a pair of scissors which only worked half way.
Even though my muggle wife was madly tapping her foot for me to get going, I persisted and went over to the information booth. The guy there was very interested in Geocaching, and found the right tool . He also came over to GZ to see the cache. TFTC.

We checked this spot three days ago when we arrived in Queenstown but weren’t really sure where the cache might be hiding. It was evening then with heaps of the people in and around the cookie shop. I contacted my sister who had logged this one last year, asking for a hint. That was enough to enable us to “spot it” without too much trouble on our return late morning today. We procured the necessary tool from the cookie shop and accessed the cache without major effort. There were people coming and going, but what the heck! Not sure that anyone took any notice of what we were doing! #3913. TFTC.
My first cache in Queenstown and what a brilliant one to start with. A previous finder had given me a wee nudge but it still took a few minutes to spy this clever hide and luckily we had the appropriate tool to get to the log. The few muggles passing by took no notice of us til we were signing the log when we heard a voice saying 'found it?' We were muggled by a local cacher! FP given
My very cache in Queenstown! I’m not expecting the bar to stay this high. We should have paid more attention to cords and not the name of the cache. We needed a little help from a previous finder here. Brilliant!
