This cache has fallen on the ground and is now missing amongst the dirt, rocks and broken glass at the GZ
Nice day of 21deg to cache around the town. Widened the search, not hanging, TFTC!
No luck with this one. Was difficult with muggles spraying chemicals and security cameras on nearby building. Not sure it's still in place as I noticed a zip tie at GZ and thinking cache should be attached. Searched ground around this spot, but nothing.
A very hot day today so with a water bottle in hand we strolled down the corridor picking up the cache as we went, used to do work on the railway here many years ago, great to see the land repurposed for the general public, cache is on the ground needs another ring to attach to the wire tie.

Start of a long weekend in MG for parkrun and some of the mega caches. Started with some along the rail trail. TFTC
Heading on our way to MT Gambier today to run tomorrow’s parkrun snd collecting a few cache on the way. Stopped for a Dominos pizza and then a walk, hmmmm do I hear Krispy Kremes calling me? Thanks for the leg stretch and mini adventure.
A quick find here, cache is all good
Today was my last day in the south east for the long weekend before heading back to Adelaide. With 2 events, one in Mount gambier and one In Naracoorte I focused my day around that area. All up 52 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Still down in the south east for the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend. Just one (hundred) more!!!
( Hopefully we'll be back for the real Geoventure when it's able to go ahead )
Teamed up with Sebastbat, and JEM we hit the trail again today and just found whatever came up on our map, some new, some old, all fun! The weather was definitely better today!!
Quickly found this by torchlight.
Thanks for placing and maintaining another great cache on this corner of our map mogni

Stay safe out there, caches and their hidey holes can be dirty and wet!
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear, stay on this side of the border (it was tempting...)
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if hayfever season gets to you and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least a roo or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun out there ! ! !

Had lunch nearby first...then it started to rain. Waited for it ease off before we started looking. Got to it and muggle said logbook was wet (I should have read previous logs), so back to vehicle I went and got a dry log sheet and took wet one. Sorry my log ended up a tad smudged...many apologies for that....trying to beat the next lot of rain.
During our stay in Mount Gambier this nice trail of caches was walked with pleasure.

Day 164 (Monday 10th) of our trip. Caching along the way. In Mt Gambier today. A total of 13 the day and 2776 for the trip. TFTC
Our last cache of the day was here. The sun was starting to get low enough in the sky that I suggested we turn around here. Didn't want to get lost on the way back to the hotel. Plus, I was getting tired from a full day of running all over the place. Made the fast find, signed on the line and replaced it just fine! heehee.
The CO may notice that there was one cache in the group that we didn't claim. It was really close to a backyard that was stuffed full of muggles who were celebrating Australia Day with a barbeque and a few beers. There was no way we could've looked for that cache without being seen. We passed it by on the way down the path. We crossed our fingers and hoped we could try again on our way back, but the party had actually ramped up and MORE people were gathered, rather than fewer.
I guess we've got a reason to come back! Not that we need one. We've had so much fun on this trip, Mrs. iowaPete and I are already talking about our next trip to Australia! [:)

Out walking on this bike Trail today picking up a few geocaches before we leave Mount Gambier. TFTC mogni
Thought we'd have a look at this series today - about time since we've be avoiding it for a couple of years [:o)].
Sneaky little hide. TNLNSL.
Thanks again Mogni.

Today was a total fire ban day, so we were limited on cave sites to dive (most are out of bounds on these types of days). We ended up diving Little Blue in the morning, and then Allendale East Cave in the afternoon. I guess many of the locals didn't know what to do either, and everyone had the same idea we had, as Little Blue was busy as with swimmers and cliff jumpers. Once the two dives were completed, I had some time to find a few caches, and join the *Mount Gambier Meet and Greet* event for dinner.
With sudden finders after my two DNFs, I was surprised that this geocache was still in play. I had been convinced that this cache had been muggled since I had even made a PAF to a previous finder. However tonight, I came past to make a very quick find. What the?!
I had taken photographs of my previous visits, and even scanning them, the cache location is a little different. The first explanation I thought it would be, was that it was a throwdown, however the logbook was the original and continuation of previous finders. The next explanation that had come to me was that someone was playing silly buggers and had taken it for a month, and then placed it back. Yep I know, blaming everything else but me. However, upon scanning my photos, the most logical explanation was that the micro had been covered well by crudd and small rocks, and so even where I thought it should have been, I didn't dig down to find it. It's never missing until it has been confirmed. I'm glad to have made this cache's conversion from a frowny to a smilie, thanks mogni. No maintenance required after all! (although as you know, it is no longer hanging around).

found the cache via mountain bike hilarity. not a single cow in sight, which was disappointing, but not surprising really. I know the owner of the camera pointing directly at the cache
Today with a long weekend in Mount Gambier, we were doing a vertical access course with plans to practice in Carolines Sinkhole today, and conduct a Hells Hole scuba dive tomorrow. Following the abseil, I went and found a few geocaches around the blue lakes, including finding some of my previous DNFs, and an oldie that I hadn't gotten around in finding.
I chatted to the CO since my previous DNF, who mentioned that they had talked to another Finder and indicated where it should have been. So armed with this information, I returned here to GZ to have another search. Still no sign of it, so I even made a PAF to the mentioned Finder, and he repeated that information, and after confirming where it should have been, it was definitely no longer there (no different to our initial search here a few weeks ago). Consequently, it may be wise for the CO to review this location for this cache. Thanks.

Today was spent with a variety of adventures, such as cave diving, dry caving, and cycling the Mount Gambier Rail Trail. We first dived/snorkeled Piccaninnie Ponds early, and then after sightseeing Hells Hole, we drove to Gouldens Sinkhole for the new EarthCache that was just published for FTF. After an enjoyable late breakfast, we then caved at Morgan's Cave, and just as the storm clouds were gathering, we packed the car with our bikes to ride the trails through Mount Gambier. It's not often that I'm down here with bikes, and so despite the storm clouds brewing, I was determined to conduct the ride with jesswrigley to see some of the sculptures installed along, as well as find the various geocaches. We collected most of the geocaches along there, and we rounded out the day with a few new EarthCache FTFs, and then after dinner, feeding the possum colony at Umpherston Sinkhole.
Once we parked, the heavy rain fell, but in true Mount Gambier region style, the rain passed, and it was back being clear again with the sun trying its best to shine through. The winds were also roaring, and unexpectedly rode into the headwind as we went along the trail. The first few geocaches ended with DNFs, and so we struggled through to make several finds after that. It was an enjoyable trail with the various artwork, and we enjoyed the platform area, wetlands and old buildings bordering the trail. We ended up riding most of the trail without rain, and since we had decided to ride into the wind initially, it only took 10 min to ride back to our starting spot. An enjoyable few hours dodging weather.
Our second geocache along the rail trail, and unfortunately, this one could not be located. Previous logs seemed to suggest that this one should not have been a challenge, but yet we searched all around GZ, and looked for the possible hide that this name suggested. Nothing could be found. There was a cable tie on the rail sleeper with nothing attached, so wonder if this had anything to do with this container? We also tried on our ride back along, but still nothing, so will watch this one and see how it goes, cheers mogni.

Found during a long weekend geocaching around Mt Gambier that saw an entertaining variety of caches and events, some caches as easy finds, others challenging, a few that required a hint from a kindly CO to locate, and one or two failed attempts that will need a return visit to cross off the list! Thanks for the cache mogni!
Since the weather was finally great again and I only had to work am shift I figured, chasing the sun by doing geocaching would be a good idea. Also, today is international geocaching day and the railway track was still on my bucket list. So together with Nick we went for a nice walk, had a good chat and especially fun to find all the great Caches along the way. Though it's pretty sad that there is no train to Mount Gambier anymore. Also, I only saw the railway track so far when I passed the main road into the Mount. Sorry for all the phone calls but I guess you are just the best "wild card" for being successful here

out with the co for a maintenance run on the whole rail trail. Found dodging rain showers on a cold wet day.
Accurate coordinates and the name of the cache led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks mogni for the cache and the series.
Another just hanging around from one end of the rail way to the other TFTC !! Dance Laugh Sparkle
Me first poke around for this cache did not discover its hiding place somewhere in the weeds [:o]
So I retreated back to the pushbike to read the previous finder's logs.
'Bout then a penguin wandered by to say hello
The cache was spied shortly after a few metres from where I had been looking !!
So two names in the logbook
TFTC.

Saw a cyclist 'hanging around' the area, trying to look like he wasn't up to anything. I laughed and asked if he was looking for the same thing I was. Of course he was and found it in very short order too. Good job! TFTC mogni
Found it quicker than I was expecting to. Attachment cache hangs from is rusting and will soon break, it should be replaced by a thin cable tie some time soon. Will check on it when I am next in the vicinity.
Out and about caching the MGRL trail with earthlight, Cabbos and joined by my muggle sister for part of the way.
Almost at the end.

Having a stroll with geohubbie to complete this end of the trail. Quick find. Tftc

Number 4 for night time walk. Got wet feet in the long grass. It sure rains a lot here!
Sorry for the very late log as I now only have access to the internet in the library. Also sorry for the generic log as I can no longer remember each cache individually.
I visited your cache with Team Crackers on another day out with them. Many thanks for placing and maintaining the cache for our enjoyment.

We had a trip to Portland and beyond to do some cache maintenance and visit SuperPop so of course we had to take a drive to try and find some caches. We headed towards Mt Gambier for a great day of caching with much laughter along the way finding in all 25 caches with only 1 dnf.
We really enjoy these rail trails that are popping up in many areas now, we prefer doing them by push bike but today we didn't have that luxury so we wandered along on shank's pony and did three that were close to us.
We walked passed this one on our way to Unplugged as we were on a slightly wrong altitude but corrected this on the walk back and as we got close the cache was spotted when we were about 8 metres from gz so we simply walked up and added our names to the log thinking what a nice easy find and then things suddenly took a turn for the worst when fumble fingers dropped the cache when he was returning it and of course it landed inside the fence line.
After about ten minutes of poking and prodding with sticks we were finally able to retrieve it and return it to where it should be.
Many thanks for the cache mogni, which should ahve been a quick one;)
