Geological site visited by dalerious and I, and a good set of colluded answers were sent to the CO for his evaluation and marking .dalerious and I spent quite a bit of time at both waypoints of this Earthcache. We found what we witnessed at each site remarkable and strong and lengthy debate ensued, as we tried to figure out how nature created what we saw.As they say, two heads are better than one and we managed to produce a worthy outcome to some thought provoking questions about what happened here, and what was to come in the future.Nature is mind blowing, and I am glad I love rocks enough to persuade my husband to trust me on an answer or two .One of the best Earthcaches I have undertaken. Favourite point given.
Visited with catnap777 26/10/24 @ about 10:30am. Starting our day from the far end, catnap777 and I walked straight past both waypoints of this very appealing Earth Cache on our way to "Windy Point". So after picking up all the unloved from that little trad (over 5 years of it), and without coming even close to dying, we figured it was safe to give this cache a good go too. Getting down to the posted coords was "interesting" but we took our time to find a safe route and took our time traversing it till we arrived unscathed at Posted Coords. We sure knew when we were there. We Oohed and Ahhed for a good while taking pictures and deliberating our response for the WP1 questions before making our way along the lower section of the escarpment to put our names in "Sit and enjoy the view". We then made our way back up onto the MVO track for the easy part of the hike back to the gate and our awaiting chariot. [^]A light meal and a coffee and we were off again to WP2. This was much, much easier to access and we were quite surprised by what we discovered there. Now we just had to make sense of it all and write up our assignment. ....but that bit had to wait till we were back home. We still had "Look at Bill" and a visit to Paradise Falls (&The Little Falls) to complete our day out with. All up we were really happy with how we tackled our day with each find inspiring us on to the next. Fortunately, we have enough favourite points up our sleeves to cover it all. TFTEarthCache Jamin, and thanks for your super fast response for our colluded submission sent earlier today. [^]
Another bucket list super lonely cache ticked off. Stopped by stage two on the way to one and got the info we needed. After the cache "sit and enjoy the view" we decided to walk along the bottom of the escarpment all the way to stage one. Once we grabbed the answers from there, it was a fun little climb/scramble out until we got back to the track. Super fun day out in the bush, love exploring the escarpments in this area. TFTC
Visited WP2 and got within 15m (horizontally) of WP1 before making the go/no-go decision.
The terrain looked like it wouldn't be too bad to get down (though not at all straightforward), but time was flowing on. Due to difficulties finding the cache at Windy Point it was a little later than I wanted so I decided to skip this one.
Read the notes on this one at the viewpoint over Lake William Hovell, interesting info/questions.

The bananas were in this area for so long that we were being called locals. We scrambled, climbed found every loose rock in the landscape and rolled them into the King river.
We knew this area in detail.
We don't have the luxury of a contour map nor a 4WD and therefore made our way here by walking from Paradise. But we came unprepared and had to walk back before another visit.
The bananas were exhausted, dispirited and all but lost.
This was all run on adrenalin as life saving fear was all that ran through our mind.
Believe it or not we are scared of heights and there is no way to experience this area without it.
And experience it we did. By the bucket load.
