Reperio 14:07Day 5 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Eden to Canberra, and it was another long but fantastic day of geocaching. As it had rained overnight, the bush land we had to walk through in the morning was quite wet, and so getting to some of the caches was made a little more tedious and difficult. Our goal for today was to complete the VB series, and then head towards Canberra later in the evening. Fortunately most of the caches we searched for were found, and there were certainly some fantastic containers along the way.Gratias Boeing737As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
After camping at Tantangra for a few nights (having to move camp at the end due to high winds) it was time to move onward to Bermagui for the rest of our annual fishing trip. Grabbed a few more caches along the way. I've driven past this series a few times now but never had time to stop and complete. Glad I did as this is a nice little reserve despite being quite dry at the moment. TFTC!
Day #4 [17-2] of 5 for my trip away. It’s sad leaving the beach because reality has just started calling me. I know I’m still on holidays until the 20th but it already calling. However, I’m not going to let that stop me from enjoy every moment I have left of it. I started the day by heading to the beach to see it one last time. I also went to the ‘Cranky Café’ and had a brekky wrap for breakfast. Next, it was time to head back to the motel, pack the car and head off to Canberra, which was today’s main mission. I will need to return to Merimbula, with the correct TOTT and hints to ones I DNF, so I can find the rest of them next time… yes of course, visiting the beach. I found many caches along the way, most of which were quick and easy find. A couple took a little longer to find because of either I was site seeing and/or because I couldn’t find the cache for quite some time. I arrived at my motel in Canberra at 4:30pm and just enjoyed rest in the room. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found today for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC’s
P.S. Sorry, about the generic logs. I will endeavour to edit them at some point in the future for the extended story, FP’s and/or photos. This is when I have more time on my hands.

Didn’t look, there were this people behind me, and I am running put off time. Just wanted to use this log to say thank you! This is what geocaching is about! I thoroughly enjoyed this unexpected walk! And platypus sighting!
Today was the second day of my trip to Nimitabel and Bemboka. I headed down Brown mountain for Bemboka and found my way to the riverside reserve to do the series of caches on the walk in this reserve. It is a great area, and it was full of wildlife. The long wet grass lead to very wet feet, but I made it all the way round and found each of the caches. I then headed home with a stop in Cooma and a few along the highway. A great weekend and lots of caches.
Thanks for the cache Boeing737

Fast find icy icy wind. So lovely to be out stretching our legs.
So grateful to have been able to step away from the madness for a couple of days with GLISS! and K8TYBEE, to help mark K8TYBEE’s birthday. Heading home today but couldn’t resist meandering home via some little cache trails and sweet counties towns. Been watching the news diligently to keep track of all the latest on the covid news. So far things have continued to remain clear down here. Fingers crossed that continues! Thanks for the cache.

With our masks and sanitizer we are out in the area for a couple of days, adventuring for my birthday with nibletricecakes and GLISS! TFTC
Thanks for highlighting this lovely walk. Found with k8tybee and Nibletricecakes on the way home from our brief getaway in Merimbula. TFTC
Didn’t need to put hand in scary log after all. Geo dog sat patiently while we signed log
Heading back to Canberra after a week's trip to the coast. Some exercise here will be good for me. A pretty logbook. Cache and log and good. TFTC Boeing737.
After setting up camp at the nearby camping ground/ sports ground we walked along the road to the cemetery to do this series of caches
Headed off to the reserve to find the first cache after passing through a couple of gates we made our way to GZ, a quick find here although it was very wet after the recent rains

With the Canberra Day Long Weekend upon us, the FFLL ladies and I usually take off towards SA or the likes for some caching, however with the unpredictability of COVID on the borders, we decided we would try for something a little closer to home. We decided that we would come down and have a crack at the VB trail around Eden and Merimbula. It was a great weekend away with both the FFLL ladies and it was nice to see the ocean and get some sun on our faces.
Collecting smileys along the way to the coast, this was our next en route. Spotted this little series however we only had the time to collect this one today, will need to return when we have a little more time to do the walk. Located the cache in the second place we looked, first thing we thought was the cache, well it wasnt.
Thanks for the cache placement Boeing737 and thanks for the wonderful weekend away FFLL ladies Always enjoyable and always something to look forward to.

The Canberra day long weekend falls on the first weekend in March so we usually take this time to head out of town. So this year, the caching troupe of us and Rapidlywild decided to head to the Merimbula / Eden coastline to collect a few smiley's.
Our travels took us through this way, so we decided to stop and collect the caches that came across our path.
Found in the second place we looked.
Thanks for the placement Boeing737

A drive from Bega to Jindabyne today. Lots of country roads with great views and nice little towns. Also a cracker of a day with sun and blue skies.

A really nice break in our trip to Merimbula. Never been here before and it was a little gem. Caches were all in good condition and easily found. The stump at #1 was indeed full of some undesirable items but this in no way impeded our ability to sign the log and the warning is more than sufficient.
Geowife allegedly spotted two platypus (although I didn't see them myself). TFTC B737 and for placing and maintaining this series.

Sunshine and an opportunity to go caching, what a great combination. After parking the caravan at the adjacent camp ground we were out finding caches. Got this one. Scenery beautiful. Our thanks to Boeing737 for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
We Forgot our pen, so here’s the photo. We gave this a favourite because of the cool logbook and beautiful walk. Thanks.
Nice little weekend away with fitzy_1965 catching up with friends in Merimbula.
After a chilly night and rather windy morning in Nimmitabel, we packed up camp and headed off for a day of caching before arriving in Merimbula for the night.
Next stop was this gorgeous little reserve. Would have been much nicer if it wasn't so windy and wished we had more time to stop and check out the platypus area.
All caches were found quickly on our walk around the loop.

18,673. Found with minniek on a caching run down to Merimbula and region.
Heading down to Merimbula with minniek for some caching and to catch up with some good friends. After camping overnight at Nimmitabel we headed off this morning to continue our caching journey. The walk around the reserve was great despite the high winds keeping us on our toes. Quick find at GZ.
Thanks Boeing737 !! Awesome little series !
Cheers !

Found with sjg66 on a quick trip overnight trip to coast. Stayed overnight at Gillards Beach near Tathra, which I can recommend to anyone heading this way.
Somehow I managed to find this cache in order and by following a track. Normally I start a series in the middle somewhere and blunder through the bush find the cache and then see the track not 3 meters away from the GZ. Anyway this as a quick find as were the rest of the caches in the series. TFTC.

A caching mission! This time organised by KittyKatch to grab some new caches from Moruya to Broulee. Quite a few us joined the walk on a lovely Saturday . TikvaNZ joined me for the drive and we decided to grab a few more caches beforehand and afterwards. On the Sunday, we headed south and ended up doing a caching circuit, Moruya, Bega and then up the hill to Cooma and home again to Canberra. A fantastic trip planned!!
This cache: nice container, all in good condition.
Thanks Boeing737 for the cache and the fun!

First one of the series and a DNF to start with. Had a good look around and then consulted previous logs which suggest this is missing.
We stopped here at the start of our walk but couldn't find it. On the way back we tried again but still no luck. Might have woken something sleeping in a hole and decided to let it be. Had thought it was similar to another cache but this one stayed hidden.
Quick find on the way up.to Cooma this morning. Wish I had time to complete the trail but maybe another day.
Found it and signed the log with enclosed pen.

The CBR_Grahams are off to the coast for a welcome holiday, but what better thing to do to break up the drive than to visit a really cool little town and soak up some of its history and great reserves.
We parked just outside the cemetery, it felt wrong taking the car inside even though the sign indicated it was possible. My girls spent a lot of time reading the head stones and reflecting on the extremely high infant mortality that was experienced more than a century ago (though they didnt use those words).
The river reserve is a really beautiful place and a pleasant surprise to find, so glad I did my research before hand and chose Bemboka for our leg stretch as it turned out to be so much more than a leg stretch. Thank you for bring us here!
This was the second hide found, and there was no mistaking it, the geokids had it spotted from 40m due to good coords and a good clue. The geokids had some agonising times deciding over swaps... they liked all the little marble/glass stuff. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Checked cache. Log doesn’t seem damp but nevertheless added some waterproof paper just in case.
Decided to stop and stretch the legs on the way to Merimbula and realised when I got here that I’d done this one on an earlier trip with Lpud and forgotten to log it! Oh well, TFTC anyways
Terrific walk, really loved the cache series for actually bringing us here, as really didn't know that such a lovely spot existed, especially the fantastic platypus rock pools, where we saw a platypus. There is also the Rock Wall area that has turtles, and though we ventured around, we did not see any... but a fascinating little spot. Highly recommend that this walk be done. TFTC. Took the TB.

Didn't take long to get the first cache in this series & on a lovely cool spring morning it was a great way to start the day. Kutgw
#3372 2 of 6 today.
Day 1 of our trip out to the coast. CBRChic, myself joined Boeing737 and JetFusalage for some caching around the Bega/Merimbula area. We set out from Canberra about 11:30AM and headed down the Monaro for some caching fun.Today was hot. The car said 36C at one stage & it felt like it. We didn't grab too many caches on the way. Our first major stop was Bemboka to grab the new Beboka River trail just down behind the cemetery.
A good start in this nice reserve, but it's hot here today and the grass is crunching under our feet..

Perfect weather for caching today, the Geohounds loved the walk also. This is such a pretty reserve, little rolling hills, with lots of wild flowers out at the moment, butterflies, wallabies we even spotted a platypus, that was awesome. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC
I am loving this Bemboka River Reserve and I've only got to the first cache. Lots of birdlife and nice to have the trees labelled. TFTC Boeing737
As I tackled it in reverse, this was my final cache in the Bemboka River Reserve series. I really enjoyed my stroll around the remarkable precinct and was impressed by the information signage identifying the flora and other aspects of the area.
Many thanks Boeing737, a favourite for the series.

Wow! We weren't planning to find this series so early in it's life so we were quite surprised when we realised we are only the 4th finders, yay!
A nice easy one to start off with, you will want to be a little bit tall though because it was quite a reach to grab it!
Thanks

Wonderful reserve we hope it gets well known and used. Loved the walk and the caches. TFTC JenneG and Budgy
This is so cool, being introduced to this lovely reserve which we didn't know existed. It really is one of the best things about geocaching. tftc
Chooo ooo [FTF] on a warm and sunny, albeit extremely windy day! Beaut little reserve this, loved the nicely mowed track, and the info signs telling me which tree is which - now if only I could remember them all. Still a whiff of burnt in the air, from recent back burning, but all caches in excellent condition. All coordinates were good! Thanks for bringing me here B737.
