Easy peasy. Plenty of muggle activity around today so had to time my entrance and exists. Otherwise straightforward. Bottom of main container is severely broken but log is still intactThank you!.

Found easily after not being able to find it in the dark last night. A nice change...it's a sunny and not-so-windy day in Welly
Very pleased to change the one from a dnf to found. I was looking in completely the wrong spot last time. There's left and then there's left. Interesting area and history. Tftc RogerW1nz.
Spent a fair amount of time poking around in leaf litter and stressing about being discovered by nearby bikers and cars coming and going when it was just sitting out in the open! Almost didn't think it was the cache haha. TFTC.
A bit soggy inside which affected the pen so unfortunately couldn't sign. But great spot and learnt about the prison too. Will come back and replace the pen.
Interesting location and history. Had a good wonder around the area. Cache was a quick find. TFTC 
Mr 7 extremely chuffed to work out the hint completely without adult assistance yay! Fun cache, found a few trinkets inside and left as is. Thanks for the fun!
This one took us far longer than it should have. We searched every location that looked obvious except the "really obvious" location just "lying there behind the hut". BFG eventually found lying on ground covered by leaf litter. Thanks for the cache.

Nearly gave up then decided to try coming at it from the other side, and there it was. Not sure its where its meant to be, though

Out exploring the area with the family. A nice quick find by youngest son before I'd even got from the car to GZ, he said it was the easiest find ever! The outer container seems to be missing a clip from one side but it is still dry in the inner container. I've been inside this prison before back when I was at uni and we came here for a criminology field trip! We had a nosy around the prison community gardens afterwards, an interesting spot with a very friendly fantail that followed us around, and a falcon! TFTC
Had just finished a course at university where we discussed Mt Crawford prison in some detail. Visiting the site was not a course requirement but I'd last been here many years ago so thought it would be nice to have a poke around and do some caching on the side. Met a muggle on site and we had a chat about the closed paths going north. They claimed that asbestos risk from the recent Shelly Bay fire had made this move necessary so I had to abadon going any further north for today. But a quick find nonetheless, TFTC
A perfect cache for my daily streak challenge. A quick park and grab made easy by parking the car opposite gz. Spot on hint, cache was sitting exposed.

Met Stebu2 and The Clees at GZ, I helped them by finding the right area and then let Stebu make the actual find. Nicely hidden. And nice to see this old prison is getting a second life
The team had plans for today, but the weather kiboshed that, so after a morning of teaching my sister how to bottle pears, NZ_B and I went for a spot of cleaning up Wellington.I thought Miramar peninsula would be about right as both of us had some cleaning to do there.

Despite tonight’s get together being cancelled due to the weather, the Seagnoid and I decided to cache around Miramar.
This is my second or third visit here looking for this cache. We met Stebu2 and The Clees at GZ and the Seagnoid helped them by finding the right area to search and Stebu, much to his pleasure, found the cache. One very happy young cacher. I’m not sure why I missed finding the cache on my previous visits.

This was cache number two for me today while I was out on my mountain bike riding around the nearby trails. I originally intended to find this cache first but some muggles were sitting in a vehicle very close to GZ. As a result, I decided to head slightly downhill to find another cache before returning here. After successfully finding the cache further down the hill, I returned to this area. I was relieved when I returned here to see that the car with the muggles in it had disappeared.
When I took a quick glance at this area during my initial ride up here, I noticed an area which looked promising as a location for the cache to be hidden. Upon my return, I checked my GPS. Sure enough, it was guiding me to the same area I glanced at on my initial ride. I looked at the hint which gave me a very solid idea of where I could expect to find the cache. I spent a couple of minutes searching for this cache when I soon spotted it hiding underneath its cover. I was pleased to see the cache in such excellent condition, especially with a relatively fresh logsheet. I quickly signed the log and replaced back where I found it before continuing on my way.

It was only 3 days ago that I said it would be a long time before returning. That was based on the assumption that more geocaches would be my reason for coming this way. But I found another reason to go to prison. (the CO knows why I omitted a meaning-altering preposition). Up at the top there were surprisingly many people coming and going and one just sitting in a vehicle the entire time I was there. After exploring the area a bit more on foot including some spectacular view points to see if they would leave I decided to to stroll to GZ as if it was the most natural thing in the world. I was surprised to find the cache just 30cm from where I stopped to consider the scene. I wasn't quite the first to sign the new logbook as the previous log implies.

While I was at GZ a car turned up with a bunch of youths in it who proceeded to get out and start checking out my car. That was understandable due to the type of car that it is so I watched them from afar just to make sure looking was the only thing they were doing. They were there longer than I considered acceptable so I wandered over to break up the "party". They were clearly not car enthusiasts (who give off a very different vibe) but did not appear to be anti-social vandal types either.

The original cache has gone. Replaced with a new smaller container, maybe a metre from where it was before. New hint too. Small present for the first to find the new hide!
Since I was parked just across the road from this I figured it was worth a look despite having just been disabled - although that appears to be on the assumption of missingness rather than confirmation. I had a reasonable, but not extensive, look around and spotted the most likely place a regular would go. Looked around some more anyway and was not really surprised to turn up nothing. Since this is now my only unfound cache up this way it will be a *long* time before I return. 
oday was my work's xmas do in Upper Hutt. Pleasant enough, but after after a few hours I excused myself as I would rather have a few hours of caching in Wellington instead.

It also meant that I could get to a few caches, both old and new, that I've wanted to visit.
I've never been up this way before, and didn't even know there was an old prison up here. There were lots of MTB folk here this evening, but no-one was paying any attention to me as I made my search. After about 20 minutes I phoned a previous finder, but she only confirmed I was looking in the right general area.

M26 and I are in Wellington, from Auckland, for a 30th and are getting as many caches as we can, over the 2 days we are here! It’s been wet and rainy, but still a good trip so far!

Nice little bay around the bay, and then up to this old prison, cache was just lying out in the open, hopefully replaced in the right place, tftc RogerW1nz
We'd been curious about the prison up here when we'd visited in the past. Today we made time to grab the two caches up here and found the write up really interesting as we'd just been through the tunnel. Thanks
Next stop for tramyard and me today. The hint seemed helpful, so I went up and started looking around where I thought it might be, and then I heard tramyard call out that he'd found it... so not where I thought at all. That's why it's so nice caching with a friend 
I signed the log since he had been here before, and then replaced it where we found it. Thanks gasbottle for the hide, and RogerW1nz (hello!) for maintaining it! This is also my 100th regular size cache, which means I'll be getting a badge upgrade on Project-GC

Originally looking in a similar but wrong spot. Shifted west and then it became clear.
After several minutes searching Mrs RedEcho came to see what I was upto and said "is this what you are looking for". Doh should have gone to Specsavers! TFTC.
A little bit challenging, but easily found in the end. Nice to have a pen there too. I initially went too far up and could have had had an injury slipping down the bank! TFTC
