This is going to need an FP, I’m glad to say! At first we thought it was broken - but a few seconds later all became clear!! The ‘needs maintenance’ attribute should be removed too, because it is in perfect working order. TFTC

24-Jan-20
I’m not going to give anything away about this one, but I can see why someone initially thought it was broken, but it most certainly isn’t. A definite favourite point from me. When I’m back in Britain I think I’ll make one similar.

24-Jan-20

We have come to Napier with the family for a short break before we all go back to school. Its the first time our children have been here and they are enjoying a bunch of new experiences. After a busy day at some museums and the market my wife gave me a pass to do some late evening caching once our boys were in bed. I came to this cache with no expectations and left grinning. I located 'something' almost immediately and then wondered if the cache was missing, checked some logs and realised there was more to this hide than meets the eyes. I tried a couple of things and then bingo there it was. Great cache and deserving of its favorite points.

17-Jan-20
A very nice round... up and down the stairs... through Napier.
I was able to get a good look at the cans with the help of the hint...

Thanks for the cache.
Many greetings Pöni.

11-Jan-20
Wow super nice cache, it took me a little puzzling. I almost put a note in the pipeline because for a moment I thought the log was disappeared. Tftc

07-Jan-20
Went back today with a pen as I didn't have one when I had the inspired moment while passing by. Unfortunately it has been put back together wrongly and impenetrable and I still couldn't sign it today even thoughI had a pen. I am claiming my find with the original photo of the names signed when I found it before.

Off on a 5 day mission from Northland to the East Coast with the main target being the last two CANZ caches that I had not yet found. The opportunity to grab some $25 airfares to Napier was just too good to miss, even though it was winter and the days might be short and the weather might be dodgy.

Day one though was a real mission, with early morning fog for the drive to Auckland, untold time navigating the long Akl parking lots, delayed flights before we took off and then again in the air before we could land causing a missed connection for the rental cache mobile pick up. To top it off, the weather was cold and wet, but I still managed four caches in the dark.

Day two started off still wet and cold, but by the time we got into town, the precipitation had eased off, so I was able to go for a stroll around town to keep the other half happy and to look for some more today. As the afternoon passed, the temperature dropped, so it was back into the rental cache mobile and time for some more P&G type hides, especially those that had good FP numbers.

Luckily there was good parking near this one and after a short walk, I was soon at GZ where the hide was spotted. After a bit of study and thought, I managed to retrieve the log, which was signed and then replaced as found. A definite fave here for the well thought out and constructed cache. TFTC

Finally get to log this one by doing exactly what we had tried every other time.

Frustrating that it was a mechanical issue after all.

10-Mar-19
After an attempt at this and sadly thinking it had been muggled, the CO encouraged me to have another go. The penny dropped, I returned this evening and had the cache in hand quick as. Very clever, favourite point from me. Thanks for the sneaky hide!

Have been planning these caches for a few weeks in conjunction with HKCB for a mad dash and effectively a 24 hour run (so that we could spend time with our respective families) for the rest of the ensuing weekend. Signed most/all caches as HKCD or some such other that we could fit in
Leaving Hamilton at 7pm Friday and getting home midnight on Saturday so that at least 6hours quality sleep was acheived, sleeping in the car is always a bonus (2 hours) and the remainder of the time caching around part of the country we hadn't previousley done a whole lot, but have left plenty for the next trip across the hill.

This was number one hundred of the100+ that we acheived in that time we were over here.
Thanks to all the CO's for the effort and giving some great caches, sorry about the repetitive logs but then 100 is a few to cover off.

Thanks for the placement, thanks for the cache

23-Feb-19
We had been talking about cache bash in Napier for a while, and when Cats&Dragons mentioned a trip down here this weekend I couldn't say no. The plan was to head down Friday night (leaving Hamilton about 7pm) and then cache til we can then grab a few hours sleep and then cache through til late afternoon and then head home. The plan worked well, with about 110 caches found over the 24 hour caching period.

It was the first time we had visited Napier to do a caching mission, and we were both impressed with the genius hides (some we hadn't seen before, I'll give a special mention to those ones). A big thanks to all the CO's whose caches we found, for placing and maintaining them. A great trip and looking forward to a revisit.

Soon worked out what was required here, nicely done.

Hey how!
Thanks for the cache - what a great idea - maybe, I'll built it in my hometown! This is worth a Favo!

Yesterday we had a look at this cache, but thought it had broken down.
At the motel I read previous logs and found out, that there had to be a way to find the cache.
Before we left Napier this morning, we again went to the cache, and we succeeded in writing in the logbook
This deserves a FP.
TFTC and greetings from Denmark

Second look at this one so well done on the log.

22326 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.

Today we moved from Masterton to Napier, seeing nice cities and visiting caches along the road. Stopping at nice villages. Finaly we went down town in the Art deco arae to walk an earthcache and find some more nearby

Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Sometimes they were too humid to write clearly. Muggles did not watch what we were doing.

Nicely made. Original. Favo.Smile

mrBmrsP TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

This one sounded very interesting.. I did not even know that it had been disabled earlier today.. I had a few issues with it, as I let the CO know on facebook, but I did manage to sign my name in the correct logbook, and I'm also adding a FP. I hope this one gets to live for a long time - I'm been working on something similar for a while now., but my version is not a simple and elegang as this one Smile

Found at 13:27 - #8529 - on a 5 week trip in New Zealand
