Cache was found after a short search. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Thor's day the seventeenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. 14:58Based in Traralgon for a couple of days, perfect weather gave us the opportunity to explore the local area more closely, including Morwell, Hernes Oak, the Haunted Hills & the remains of Yallourn.H-P grew up in Yallourn and the day certainly brought back a few memories. According to maps, this cache is placed virtually where H-P lived. Thanks to grannyapple64 for creating interesting caches for the gameboard. 35778
I lived at 70 Parkway, Yallourn between 1966 and 1967 .
Also, remember the few houses that were here and falling off my push bike while flying down Coach Road.
Thanks, Grannygeo64, for the memories .

Leaving Melbourne for a few days, we drove through Yallourn and took the opportunity to grab this cache (with geo-wifey LTEC). I loved the thought of a swing in the pine tree. You don't see that too much anymore.
Thanks grannygeo64 for this hide.
Thanks grannygeo64 for this hide.
Found when we pulled to the side of the road to “check the bike rack”. I can imagine when Yallourn was a pretty town and not a coal mining town. One day it will revert and become pretty again

A little cobwebby but easy find.

Interesting little pitstop with Megmacca -we were both very curious about this road probably became an active place for bush bashing cars hence the electric fence in place- that's were out exploring ended. Log book signed and placed into new ziplock bag. Log book full will need to be replaced soon.
It's sad to see the big hole that used to be a town. Thanks for the cache and the view of what once was.
After spending a couple of nights in Moe we decided to geocache our way home to Shepparton. Yes, it was raining, yes it was cold but we quickly grabbed the cache and took it back to the car to open and sign the log. TFTC
Heading home to Shepparton today and the plan is to geocache my way home even though it's cold and it looks like it will be raining all day. It was spitting rain here but thankfully it was a quick find and a dash back to the car to open the cache and sign the log then replace TFTC
I had to stop near here, and had the old geocaching thought - “I wonder if there’s a cache here?” And there was! And I found it. Thank you!
Busy road, be mindful of muggles as it's a really busy road. Thanks for the helpful hint
Found it this afternoon. Thanks grannygeo64 for setting this one up and taking me for a trip down memory lane.
P.S.: The Troll Dolls (TN6TR0) were with me on my great caching adventures today.

Rapidlywild mentioned her plans of heading south for a family occasion so one of the FurfacesLL team went along for a drive to get out of the house and company.
We covered a lot of ground over the few days away and grabbed a number of smilies along the way.
Thanks Rapidlywild for indulging our last minute decision to join you on this adventure.
Thanks for dropping me off and picking me up from the airport and thanks for the laughs.
Thanks to all the cache owners for their placements we had a blast collecting them.

I had plans made to travel to Morwell, VIC for a surprise family b'day party and had made the decision to drive as I wanted to collect a large part for the new GeoUte in VIC. I had told FurfacesLL #1 of my plans and being she is off work at the moment, I soon had a driving companion for the journey. The weekend was alot of fun, many km's covered, some random locations visited, a nice range of caches found, a number of visits to the Mel Airport and all in all, a fantastic weekend.
Thanks for the cache hide grannygeo64 was another great GeoAdventure across NSW and VIC

Across from Adelaide for a birthday with Some quick caching on our way to an EC while visiting friends in Melbourne. TFTC
A lovely drive around the area this arvo, after spending the morning at Yallourn North for the towns annual garage sale day. Thanks for putting a cache here grannygeo and sharing your thoughts and memories. That swing must’ve had a great view of the town! SL but accidentally wrote 5th instead of today’s date of 6th in the log book - I’ve lost a day somewhere, oops! TFTC
A quick decision here to pull over as there was no traffic.
I've been thinking a lot about home myself lately - wondering if I could ever go back....
Thanks for the cache gran

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

A great day for a drive around the area and quickly had this in hand and the log signed tftc grannygeo64
Thanks for some insight into the history of this area from a local. My brother bought his first home from Yallourn and had it transported to Yanakie. It is still there. I remember our fascination at every time we caused a vibration in the house, coal dust rained down from the cornices and architraves, lol. Thanks for the great views and cache.
This structure was a bit different to most of this type. Cache was found quickly as we on our way to Lake Narracan to the caches up near and including the Earthcache. We skipped this one last time we were up here a few weeks ago but today we had time to get it. I’ve never really explored this part of the state before, but Geocaching is remedying this sad situation. TFTC
After attending a CITO and BBQ event in Moe I headed out with gwd.aussie and sqau to grab a few caches. A quick park and grab.
Thanks grannygeo64
