A little detour while heading up Mt Alexander with the kids. A quick find while watching out for danger noodles in the grass. TFTC. Bane.
Here was I thinking "well that was stupid bringing my 2wd car down this track". I'd just taken the attached photo when I heard an engine and a Subaru flies up the track like it's rally driving. Oh to be young and senseless again... not! Cache found, signed and returned. Thanks for bringing me here.
Coldest windiest day for a find in this cool eerie spot, happy to have discovered the place!
Due to unforeseen circumstances Mr Smokey Bear will no longer be a part of Team Smokey Bear and will continue his adventures as "SmokeyBearOG".
So I'm relogging all previous finds under my new account.
Unfortunately this log will not show the original logging date.
**Thanks to virbull for this adventure, looking forward to many more.**

Straight out for a quick spin around Mount Alexander straight after work. Still ridiculously hot. This area too has difficult memories. With my GPS still out by 10m, I looked with dismay at the area. I've been in the habit recently of starting my searches from 10m and working my way in towards GZ - that was going to take me a very, very long time so I went to 'GZ" and looked around. Lucky angle to have chosen and I soon had the log in hand. Love the very tough container. Many thanks. Logging from work PC so can't use my usual smileys but please imagine a happy face, Scottish flag and Aussie flag
Thanks for the trip to the quarry. We never knew it was here. We really enjoyed a walk around investigating all of what this site had to offer. It was spectacular. Cache and hide doing well.
Wow thank you so much for bringing me here. What an awesome place. I must admit when I saw all the machinery on approach I thought” oh my god I’m gonna be here all day”
. But the treasure was found pretty quickly. II have been hiking around this beautiful area before and came out here today on a day off. But I was unaware this place existed so thank you very much for bringing me here.

This was a great cache near many mining relics.
The container was a little bit wet but the log was dry, so all is OK.

This place is so cool! I love old abandoned places. Thanks very much for showing us this cool location!
Thank you for inviting me to your favourite place, the area just past the cache was totally unexpected surprise, cheers Garth
While out exploring with the family we decided to come to this nearby cache. The area was free of others and we enjoyed exploring before finding this cache.
Many thanks for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy
Many thanks for hiding this cache for us to find and enjoy
spectacular view and a great cache. Grabbed it whilst the kids played on the granite blocks
Thanks Virbul, I'm camped up on mount Alexandra and took the Goldfields walk but I thought I'd go that little extra mile (well few hundred metres) and pick up this cache. I put it down as a favourite it had all my favourite things including a view and old stuff. I stopped for a cuppa and a heap of pics. A few years ago I found another quarry from the south end of mount Alexander just left abandoned as this one except at least think took away all their machinery. Like here a lot of granite slabs ready to be made into something and just left eerie eh?. Thanks for the cache, regards from Vic

Mr Tyred n Cranky had footy duties at Harcourt so FUF009 and myself (Mrs Tyred n Cranky) decided to go down with him for the drive. Geodog Penny came with us. We dropped Mr Tyred n Cranky off at the footy ground and then we went around the area caching.
We have cached the Harcourt area before but it has been a while since we have been down this way, so naturally there are a few new caches around to grab. Today we thought we would try to turn this part of the map all into smilies. Must say the area sure has changed in parts to when we were down here last.
Seeing how we had time, from the Reservoir we decided to go back to the footy ground via Mount Alexander where we had five caches to find.
An interesting place, so out of the way and so quiet, but alas today, like every other place we have been to today, there were people and a dog. Everywhere we went seemed so busy.
The hint to this one made it a quick find. Log signed and on we went to our next find.

After my previous Simba/Rafiki moment I decided not to do it again, lol. quick find here after admiring the view! tftc
I must admit I did`nt read the cache page before attempting to find this one. We came in from the south on foot, not knowing what to expect. Once we came to the southern point of the quarry, I was amazed to see what I was seeing. I just stood there for a while, just taking in the view. Thanks for highlighting this old area. Cigc. Tftc
Another great view!!! Sean.75 spies this one in no time. After making our way back to the car it was time to head to the bakery for lunch. Tftc
We can see why this is a favourite spot. Lots for the geokids to explore. Stocked up with loot. Tftc!
Well a trip and stumble was worth the view and seeing all the granite. Later found a perfect road
Found cache at 3:30pm very interested place we had never been before. TFTC I did have to use the hint though so many hiding places.
Thanks for the cache. It’s a incredible place I really enjoy the quarry just a little bit further down the hill as well and as well as the towers.
It seems the new CoVid-1 conditions will allow us to once again go Geocaching so i am enabling this cache...... It's open for business.
Thanks for your interesting notes and we can surely see why this is one of your favourite places. Really amazing to see all the old machinery used for working the quarry - would have been good to see it working many years ago. Fantastic views neaby. Thanks so much for sharing this with us and bringing us here as we did enjoy looking over the area.

1st find!Great place to discover. Would not have seen without this search. Thanks. Had fun & exercise
TFTC. Wow, what an interesting place, views are a bonus. I little bit tricky to find.
I can see why this is a favourite place. This was also my favourite location for the day. Brilliant views and such a cool spot to explore. Love seeing ruins and interesting places like this. A great way to spend a birthday in good company. Also great to escape the storms in Geelong for some calmer weather here. Tftc.
A day out to Bendigo with Pacman, Anikano and Tritonz to escape the rains and celebrate a birthday.
We stopped by here for a nice easy find after playing around in the machinery down below. I came straight to this lookout to check out the first views of the day. A brilliant spot here, was great watching the clouds hovering over the landscape.
These are the kind of caches i love. A FP from me.

After quite a low key break, we have been slowly getting back into caching and signed up for premium once again. We're a lover of unplanned, spontaneous caching when we find ourselves out and about adventuring quite often when able too. Nothing better
Started to get frustrating without premium, sometimes coming across caches and just knowing where they are or what ones we could access! So signed up to premium once again- heres to some more adventures for the ReganSeekers!
Once logged in, i could access my lists!! Yay! Found a small list of unlogged finds from 06/10/18 Quite some time ago!

Loved the area , the history and the exploring .
Fantastic.
Thanks for the adventure virbull!

Day 7 of our epic trek to the St Arnaud Mega via Geelong. As you do.
The constant was my travel companion for the entire trip, - Anymules. but we were joined by almost local cacher Bushfire for a lot of the escapades
With the Mega finishing yesterday we continued caching around our base of Bendigo. Today we joined up with muff1 and au.fait for some adventures. Disaster struck early when my GPS touchscreen decided to freeze and it became useless. I tried learning a phone app on the go but in the end resorted to the old pen and notebook.
A fantastic place for a cache. Awesome views from up here. [^] The cache was a quick find in a logical spot.

What a great spot to find a cache, with top views and lots of small flowering plants. We stood and checked out the granite and marveled at the enormity of the granite. Faye had experience with how the split the granite, amazing. SL TFTC
A plan was hatched last evening so early this morning I set off with muff1, also accompanied by brisal5, AnyMules and locus cache on an adventure to Lake Eppalock. That part of the adventure successfully completed we continued caching with the next area on Mt Alexander Stopped here to sign this one as we went by and enjoyed the beautiful views and the stunning quarry TFTC
Called in for a visit. It’s been 18 months since I was here. Cache just as I left it. Still love this place.
A great spot and a great view from nearby. Have a FP for placing a cache at such a good spot. I can see why it’s a favourite.
Thanks for the cache virbull.

In Harcourt for footy, boo09 and I nicked off between games to grab a few caches. We decided to target some Mystery at the Museum caches and headed up toward Mount Alexander.
A nice quick find in here in a brilliant historical spot. Our last for the day as we have to get back for the husbands game. We will be back to explore again. TFTC!

After a few slips on the moss we reached this cache with a beautiful view
Found at 3:18 PM GAFF1.
We made that a lot more difficult than we had to - on two counts [B)]
First of all we used a very minor track to get to within a few metres of GZ which took a bit of doing to turn into and then we looked in all of the hard places for the cache, when all along it was in a very easily accessible spot [B)]
A very interesting site, which must have been quite difficult to work at.
Thanks virbull

Hi virbull, thanks for the cache and for showing us this interesting spot with views, and a geocache.
Greetings from Tassie, we're hereabouts visiting some family who live not far away and we all ventured up My Alexander this afternoon for some leisurely ambling - EeePees by 4 and local family muggles by 4.
After exploring Dog Rocks and Lang's Lookout we headed down to here.
There was a couple camping here, so we had a bit of a chat, and then 3 of us headed to GZ where muggle grandson was shown the hide and he extracted the cache.
