Sadly its time to go. Firstly the Shire removed the host with the chirp on and now they've fenced off the area where the finale is so it's not such an attractive find anymore.
Almost gave up when a muggle appeared and started doing what most civilised people do in the privacy of their own homes
So glad I perservered
So glad I perservered
As often happens with these type of caches requiring mental energy, I made a mess of the calculations and ended up with a GZ I knew to be incorrect. Lobbed on the doorstep of the COs nearby to beg a glass of water and the correct final numbers. The COs generously obliged and off I set back into the dunes. It took a good 10mins of searching before I uncovered the camo container. Magnificent views from this spot. Fave point. Tftc
Early morning run around to pick up a few caches before meeting up with iluvtrekking. Still a bit overcast but hopefully it will clear. Took a while to locate and longer to get the lid open to record our visit. Thanks olthomas
After quickly solving the puzzle quick dash to gz before the weather sets in tftc
Alas there is no chirp present anymore. The sign has also been replaced so a new puzzle has been created to find the cache. The final container is still at the original GZ. This cache is a field puzzle and one further step to sign the log book.
The Better Half wanted to go and visit a friend further north so I offered to drive her as long as she went caching first. The final ground zero of this one was worked out from the sign as the dedicated GPS just wouldn't work so couldn't do it the Chirp way. Made a quick find once we managed to get there.
Log signed and cache returned as found.
Thanks olthomas for placing this cache for us to find.

I wanted to go and visit a friend further north so Chwiliwr offered to drive me as long as I went caching first. After the previous cache Chwiliwr made me walk to the final ground zero of this one after working things out from the sign as the dedicated GPS just wouldn't start so couldn't do the Chirp thingy. Made a quick find once we managed to get there. Log signed and cache returned as found.

Checked up on this one as there are a few things that can go wrong with chirps but happy to report it's still chirping away.
Not sure what I was going wrong but my GPSr just kept searching for the chirp so I gave up. I’ve got plenty of trads to find in the area so will have to visit again in another few years. Thanks anyway.
Good fun and a neat final container
Headed North of the river today with the main goal of picking up a large bunch of traditional caches that have been growing out of control here for some time. A beautiful day to be out with sunshine and low temperatures making for perfect caching weather which also meant a fair few muggles at a number of caches.
Had a great day out and even managed to snag a FTF which had been up for 3 days, and not been attempted by anyone aswell as 8 FTFs along the beach as part of the new Jess12310 series.
A great days caching and thanks for the fun.

Found this one today with the geohounds love this area of bush and dunes, tftc and chirp! Would love some more of these have really enjoyed the 2 done so far
We came, we chirped, we huffed and puffed, we signed the log. Thanks for a great experience.
A trip NOR to gather some smilies.
TFTC olthomas this is find # 6099 for us.

A real team effort here. Our partners in crime were unable to load the chirp app but we managed that over a late lunch at the Indian Ocean Brewery. The app worked very well & we were soon chirping away with the best of them. Parkacruz made light of the required calculations & the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for replacing it for us today olthomas, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
What a team effort, PP2 had the chirpy thing that gave us the information required for the next waypoint, we had the tool to translate that information that took us there, happy to say we added our name to the log book, more fantastic views, another favourite olthomas TFTC
Still signs up.... still no burn. I will look at locating the chirp somewhere safer in the meantime.
Enjoyed it and puff puff ... use chirpy work so well. We are so happy to signed the log. With crank1 and PMDown for the arvo. Thanks for the cache and hunt. fav from me.
I was casually browsing the map when I clicked on this cache and realised it required use of the chirp feature on my GPS. There’s been very few reasons to ever use this (aside from geocaching I’m actually not sure what it’s for), so I was immediately keen for a drive up for a look. Today was the day and after double-checking over breakfast that all was ok here again, this afternoon I went for a drive with the geohound. Parked up very close to the gate and turned on the GPS (Oregon 650)...which duly chirped while I was still a couple of metres away from the sign New coords found that easy, I set off for the walk to GZ. Quite an arduous little trek, lol, but awesome views once there. GPS bounced around a little but once it settled I locked onto GZ and was pleased to make a quick find. Great spot, thanks for bringing me here. And thanks for the rare chirp A fave point coming your way - TFTC
My thanks to the CO for pointing out my search error, I now know how to search properly and have my first Chirp cache as a result.
Chirp was tested ok close up but clearly the battery was on the way out, so it has been replaced. Now it's "visible" again when stood in front of the signboard at GZ.
Please note that no model of iPhone or iPad can see Chirp caches. They don't contain ANT+ hardware. They can be enabled to see Chirp caches with additional hardware in the form of an ANT+ dongle such as the Wahoo ANT+ Key.
Some Android phones can see Chirp caches out of the box.

I’ve returned today with both my GPSr which are both capable of finding the chirp. Nothing. I used my extendable ladder to check where I’m sure the chirp would be and found nothing on both sides. Could the CO please check the chirp is still where placed.
Tried to find a Chirp with iPhone 7 and Chirp app and got nothing. I’ll be back to try with something else. Oh well, can’t win them all.
I have just purchased a new GPSr but I don’t know if it comes equipped for this cache. My etrec 30 does so I’ll come back with that because i’ve never used that function.
I tried looking for the app mentioned but none seem fit for role. (IOS)

Another quiet afternoon so grabbed 2 of the geokids (trainkid and bames2002) and headed out for some caching out Mindarie way.
Arrived here but as I don't have a chirppy gps I started to decode the multi.
After a few minutes and realizing this was going to take some time I had a quick look in the app store ... bingo, a chirp app. Coords quickly found and we were on our way.
Took a few minutes at GZ but eventually found the cache. Great views from here. TFTC

Chasing multi's at the moment and having never attempted a Chirp cache, was really intrigued and downloaded the app enroute.
Wasn't quite sure what to expect, but had to laugh at my own disappointment when my phone didn't start to chirp it's head off when I received the coords. Would add something to the experience I reckon!
No trouble scaling the heights, found the chirp hint helpful and had no dramas with the find. Great views up here and the whole experience was worthy of a favourite.
TFTC olthomas.

Found using "chirp" app on my Samsung galaxy S5. Love this spot and the cache host design. Was a bit tricky to get open and get to gz with out tired bodies haha. TFTC
A return visit tonight with PlymAdam to help. Did the chirp again just for the fun of it & after a better look at GZ I spotted it quickly, must have walked right past itr the other day.
T4TC,

Staying nearby on holiday from the UK. Chirp worked fine on my Garmin Etrex 30 but after a stroll to GZ and a look around the hint matching item I found nothing. Hampered by a nearby couple so will return.

In the area today for an appointment, we made sure to find a few caches whilst here... It has been quite some time since we have done a chirp cache, so after noticing this one nearby we just had to stop & check it out Both our Garmins (650T & 750T) told us where to go however Jases one needed to be given a kickstart to join in With some huffing & puffing, we soon made it to GZ where a quick find was made!
Thanks for adding something a little different to our day olthomas & for showing us this spot [^]

My first time using chirp technology and I've got to say that I was very impressed! Using my Samsung S5 phone and the chirp app, locating the final GZ was super easy, especially with the hint which was very helpful. This is a fantastic cache with a beautiful view. Thank you CO for bringing us here and for introducing me to chirp!
Had a lovely trek in the dunes. Beautiful view. Picked up a geotag. Using the chirp app on a Samsung S7.
With the hubby still overseas working I decided to head north and find a few caches. I had mentioned this cache a while ago to the hubby and he was quite keen to do it but as hes not here I decided to give it a go. It didn't take to long to get the co-ords and I had a good idea where I had to go to get the cache. After a bit of a work out getting to GZ it didn't take to long to find the cache. Great views and a fun cache. A fav point from me TFTC
After trying to grab a FTF nearby (unsuccessfully) I moved on to some of the other caches in the area. I do have a Chirp capable device, but seem to never need to use it, in fact, this is the first time I've used it with this GPS.
I used the technology and it pointed me to GZ in a jiffy, and I headed that way. A bit too much walking and sand for my tired legs this afternoon, but I made it to GZ. The hint in the Chirp listing was a huge help.
Thanks for the cache olthomas!

One of the silver linings of our Geraldton Robbery was the enforced replacement of my beloved Etrex 10. So now, I am the owner of a Garmin 64S whose features I am still learning. And now, Chirp 101! Well, I did not have to learn much as it chirped all on its own.
Did not even have to enter coordinates as it was all there for me. The walk was some welcome exercise... at one point I thought we would have to bushbash, but no, walked on to find a proper track.
Walked some more.....
The reward was multi-fold: the cache! the view! the sea breeze! We signed the log, left a pathtag and took photos.
Thanks for a great experience to start our morning! A fave for the fun.

Boxing day Geo-bash, better than the other bash! Anyways off with m4yb for a few up north and this has been on the radar ever since the fist chirp day in August. I had always had some curiosity about why my Garmin 62s was always searching for a chirp, and now I know and it did well at this GZ.
On retrieving all the required data curtesy of the chirp, I looked at the direction and said to Maddy, "Bet its up there"! Sure enough that is where the needle kept pointing too.
Wow what a great view once we arrived at the next GZ.
Thanks for a great cache and to test the chirpiness of our devices, worth a fav form me.

Our Garmin 62s was soon pointing me in the right direction. Thanks olthomas a great cache, so glad we didn't have to do it the long way.
Thank you so much for organising this Chirp cache. This adventure turned out to be a little more involved than I expected.
I was intrigued by this cache when it was published, so a few days ago I looked into the Chirp technology. I found out that my outdated Sony Xperia Z2 was Ant+ compatible, so I downloaded the Chirp app from Google Play. Chirp then wanted me to install two Ant+ services from the Play store, but after that the app seemed to be functioning.
This morning I thought I'd head out and see how it all worked. At GZ, the app immediately beeped at me, and I had the hint and the final coordinates. Yay! Then I hit a problem. The coordinates were in a format I was unfamiliar with: DDD MM.MMMMM. As my Garmin and C:Geo didn't seem to work with this format, I entered the coordinated into Google Maps, and a reasonable location popped up.
Once at GZ though, I couldn't figure out how the hint was applicable. I wandered around for a bit, and then figured that Google Maps must be wrong. I headed home (taking a photo of the sign at GZ just in case) and googled for much to long before figuring out how to convert the format into decimal degrees (DDD.DDDD) which C:Geo was happy with. Not only that, C:Geo automatically converted the numbers into the usual geocaching format, and the resulting coordinates added to the correct checksum figure. Yay! I headed out once again, only to find I was back in the same spot as before! Perhaps I should have trusted Google Maps.
Armed with my GPS, which was being a little jumpy, and a big stick for poking things, I started doing some circles of some likely places, when I spotted something which made the hint make sense. Finally, I had the cache in my hands.
If anyone knows an easier/quicker way to convert the format used by Chirp into the usual geocaching coordinates, that would be super helpful in future, though now that I look at the figures, if I had just rounded the numbers to three decimal places instead of five, that would have been okay too.

Checked the chirp is still chirping...used an ipad with wahoo dongle, and a Garmin GPSMAP 62s...both worked ok. Not all Android phones are capable of ANT+ so it would be interesting and helpful to future finders if cachers can include the make/model of phone used in their logs. Thanks all!
While having lunch in Mindarie, I downloaded the Chirp app onto my phone, but it didn't seem to read at the WP1. Nevermind, while brother and nephew (8yo) dashed back to suburbia for a 'pitstop', I calculated letters and numbers (and my 16yo happily waited for me to figure it out!!).
Once coords were sorted (thanks to the checksum) off the two of us went - through the dunes and soon identified an object that looked suspicious. Hooray. Cache in hand. Nice hide. Then we were met by the others. 8yo thought the cache hide was 'pretty cool'.
TFTC olthomas. Pity the day was rainy and windy, as the location is superb to watch the day go by.

Great cache, a favorite!
After reading the description, I checked the specifications of my GPS and it turns out that it is compatible with "Chirps" so I thought I would try it out. The other way to find the cache looked like too much hard work...
When I arrived at the published coordinates, it took me a little while to work out how to activate the functionality and communicate with Chirpy. Once this was done, finding the cache was very simple, even if I had to walk around GZ a couple of time before spotting the host.
Thank you very much for this innovative cache olthomas, the technology worked perfectly!

STF!!! Definitely a great view. Use a chrip app. Information loaded instantly. Took the dogs for a walk.
I've always liked the Chirp technology and have adopted it a couple of times in my previous hides many years ago, so was keen to see this one in action.
All worked like a dream, co-ords came through instantly and I was off on the short walk to GZ,
Cache found easily. Log signed. *FTF* at 14.00. Thanks for the Pathtag too.
I hope this great hide is well respected and enjoyed by many, they are not cheap to construct. (My last chirp was unfortunately destroyed by an over enthusiastic Cacher who wanted to examine the technology).
So thank you for the effort you put into this one, you made my afternoon.
Have a Fav point for sure.
